Can't believe I have lived in the area as long as I have and never tried Bartolini's until a few days ago. I had the meatball sandwich and my friend insisted I try the beer bites as an appetizer. I am not exactly sure what is in the beer bites, but they are delicious bits of deep fried dough that you dip into a red sauce. So not good for you, but addictively delicious! The meatballs were honestly the best I have had aside from my Mom's. The decor is nothing fancy, but the service was pretty good and the prices very reasonable. read more

Went with a party of 10, not that busy. Lighting is poor, service was ok, didn't provide silverware or napkins and refills on drinks were slow. Those that drank coke and lemonade never got refilled. Food did not live up to expectations from previous Yelp reviews. Overall, kind of disappointing. read more

I just hosted a Party here at Bartolini's and everything seemed OK in the beginning! I had to search for the servers on several occasions because my guests needed coffee, tea, soda, drinks, high chair, fork etc... The day after the party I was told by a few of the guests that they had to search for a salt shaker because they had two pepper shakers on one table and two salt shakers on a table across the room. Also, I was told that the mashed potatoes and mostaccioli were ice cold (I wish I was told this DURING the party!!) Don't order the baked mostaccioli (very disappointed), Beef was just MEH, some was really tough and some was just OK. Mashed potatoes were very good although my guests were stating that the gravy was out of a can (NOT happy considering I asked all these questions prior to ordering)! Fried chicken and Mixed Medley vegetables were good but a bit on the salty side! Tossed salad just MEH (iceberg lettuce, a few tomatoes, and some shredded cheese). I am an EXPERT cook and I have to say I was very disappointed in regards to quality of food and service. NO ONE was asked if they wanted drinks at each table, all of our guests spent the majority of time outside of room, at the bar because there was no server in the room taking orders. There was one bartender for Restaurant and Banquet Hall so you can imagine how long each guest had to wait for a drink. I was sooo embarrassed!! Some of my guests were from out of town and drove a long way to get there! I have to say the host in the front with the tux on was PHENOMENAL. HE WAS THE ONLY ONE! I paid for a banquet hall so that I could enjoy myself NOT have to go to each table to take drink orders all night long. We were ALWAYS SEARCHING FOR OUR SERVERS who by the way get tipped $50/each which is already calculated in the total of your bill! Both owners on different occasions told me that we should still tip the servers as they don't get that entire tip which is included????? WHAT, OK who does get it? They were nice enough, but nice doesn't make a GREAT SERVER!! They seemed like they were constantly in a hurry to get us out of there. We were the last party to be hosted. When my husband and I were totaling up the bill with the owner, there was NO, "How was everything?" NOTHING!! NEVER AGAIN! I should have rented out Giuseppe's in Blue Island as we did for our other son!! The total bill was HALF of what we paid at Bartolini's and that included ALL THE ALCOHOL! Foreign beer, top notch alcohol and the food was phenomenal at Giuseppe's. LIVE and LEARN! I have eaten here at Bartolini's several times and thought the food and service was very good. I NOW, would NOT recommend having a banquet party here. Save your hard earned money and go elsewhere!! The food and service was not worth what you have to pay!! I was there on Sunday and the food was very good, but the service not so good. I was with a party of 6 people. They did not even ask us if we wanted refills on our drinks. Good thing no one needed any more to drink. My son started to shake rep pepper on his pizza and the top came off the container. I told the waitress and she sent the owner/manager over to the table. The owner/manager offered to clean it up and asked me to move my purse in a rude way. This incident made the pizza not edible. The owner/manager did not even offer to replace the pizza or take the pizza off the bill. He was just mad he was called over to the table and had to clean up the mess. My husband started having a sneezing attack from all the red pepper all over the table they did not even offer to move us to another table. Now mind you the top coming off the container of the rep pepper was not my son's fault. This could have been the fault of the staff not checking the tops after the previous party left. My bill was $130 and not even a sorry that this happened. So even though the food was very good I don't know if I would go back. Oh did I mention I traveled all the way from Villa Park Illinois to eat there. I was somewhat disappointed. Went there last night. First and LAST time. Horrible service. Had to ask waitress to refill my drink 4 times. She finally did AFTER I paid my bill. Ordered Calzones to go. Never told us 1/2 price was on dine in only. Spoke to Chris and he said "it's on the menu." (Fantastic customer service there buddy!) Bill wrong. Had to adjusted 3 times!!! Food was horrible to begin with, at the end of our "half price pizza" we had a owner come up and say because there was only two of us the family size was not half price because we were taking advantage of them. Obviously false advertisement and a pathetic bait and switch at that. Little dick Dominick obviously has too high of an opinion of himself and was more then rude. I have been to this restaurant quite a few times and have loved their meatball sandwich and meatball pizza. This is a nice Italian restaurant that is in a neighborhood you might not expect. It is in a strip mall with a grocery store and the DMV. I have never eaten in just done to go orders. They have a nice little bar that has a couple of tvs that you can watch the game on. (Baseball or football whichever is in season). I actually haven't been here in a couple of months and when I went in today to get a meatball sandwich for my son they informed me that the meatball sandwich comes with fries or chips which at first I thought wow that is nice because it use to just come al la cart. Well, actually this was a bad thing that is why I am giving them 4 stars now when I would have given them 5 stars. I ordered chips and found out that it was not store bought chips but chips that they homemade but that is not the bad part. The part I hate now is that since they are giving a side they have made the sandwich MUCH smaller. I would rather them go back to the larger sandwich and leave off the sides and if you wanted to order the sides that would be fine. So as you know my son was heartbroken because of the small sandwich and he didn't even eat the chips. read more

Ah, the glories of Italian food well prepared! My wife and I come here as often as our waistlines will permit. She is in love with their Linguine Alfredo, and my go-to dish is the Tortelini Arrabiata. Sometimes she goes for the Chicken Tetrazzini, and I go for the Tortelini Carbonara, just for a change of pace. Everything we have tried has been outstanding! Their dinners come with a super fresh dinner salad, and good dressings. We keep seeing wonderful looking and smelling pizza going past us to other diners, so I guess we will have to try it eventually. Service has been excellent, and the prices are reasonable. read more

I've lived in midlothian for 13 years and never knew that place was there. I heard about it and checked it out. The food was great and tried a couple of there beer flights. Stopped in for carryout and found the staff to be very helpful. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs after they told me that's what they're known for. While I sat at the bar, I raved about my favorite Italian place in Blue Island and their tiramisu... the bartender must have taken it as a challenge and gave me a serving of Bartolin's tiramisu and told me to come back if I liked it. I've been back twice and each time order the tiramisu! The meatballs were indeed the best I've ever had. The helping size was enough for two meals. I'll be there again soon! read more

I've been to Bartolinis for the past 7 weeks for breakfast. Great ! If you like bacon, they serve thick strips that are lean and tasty. If you want ac real treat, try the crispy pancakes !!! It's likje having a Krispy Kreme donut, in pancake form , for be reakfast. Wonderfil ! All of the fooid is fantastic, including the Big Bart, the pizza and the calzone. Local joint, family friendly and just great food. Can't miss here. read more

I've been here a few times and never disappointed. For both banquets and normal restauant service. The banquets are great, always clean and the servers are always attentive and thoughtful. The food is always great on both sides. I've actually expanded the foods I eat because of the fantastic chefs at this restaurant. I never used to eat gnocchi or au gratin potatoes and now Bartolini's is the only place I will eat them. The sauce I had - I think it was a creamy vodka sauce - was absolutely delicious. (To the point where I had to ask the server for extra bed to scoop it all up with, it was that good.) Totally worth the drive to Midlothian. Don't let the strip mall location fool you, you'll get a great meal and great service inside! I will definitely be coming back again. read more

I love Bartolini's! They have the best pizza on the Southside and can compete with all of the big names. I typically order the thin crust cheese and sausage. It's very inexpensive and delicious. I've also tried the pasta as well. The spaghetti was ok, it seemed a little too watery for my tastes. I would highly recommend this place! read more

Went here for the first time this week. Probably the best breaded steak sandwich I've found in th area, tender and tasty. This place was a huge disappointment. Never been on yelp before, but after this , I just had to! Walked in and it was just plain dirty. Filthy. Too much dusty crap all over the walls. Food even worse. I can't get over cold food. Yet bad, cold food. This place is crap ! How is it still even open????? I used to go there for lunch about 5 or 6 years ago for pick up orders a lot. It was good! What in the HE'LL happened to this place. How ANY ONE can say it's even a decent place is insane! So disappointing. By the way...pasta salad has pasta on it. More than 8 peices. Not a half of a head of lettuce either. With 3 tomatoes, 2 red onions and 6-8 peices of cucumber and some cheap dry cheese dumped on top. I was expecting olives, cubed cheeses, maybe some salami and PASTA. Husband's breaded steak sandwich was so cold nd tough he couldn't bite it! My 3 yo old son got bowl of chicken. Dumpling soup. Cold. Tasted like flour. I'd be embarrassed if I owned this place. Or if I were the chef. How do you have a restaurant and not knot good food.....and not WANT to keep a CLEAN restaurant. Every Friday or Saturday night for the last 5 years we have eaten at Bartolini's, that should tell you right there that we love there food, we have our favorite meal but everything is delicious. The atmosphere is very family friendly and the owners the welcome you at the table. I would recommend you try this place at least once and review it for yourself. Oh and breakfast..... This place is sooooooo good. The waitress, Jen, was the absolute best waitress I ever had! Ask for her! I'm sure the other waitresses are great, too but Jen really set the mood and made sure we had a good time. Its very casual so you don't have to dress up to go here. The prices are sane so you don't have to spend a fortune....Its the little things like lemon in your water and parmesan cheese there before you even ask for it; and extra vegetables on your salad, and clean silverware. Its also the important things where this place comes through. I actually wound up with combination that wasn't even on the menu. Jen insisted that it was no problem and she was right. I had cavetelli with cream tomato basil sauce with grilled chicken strips to make it like a parmesan. It was amazing. My wife had spaghetti with garlic and olive oil with broccoli.....It was sooooo good - I ate half of hers, too. I saw people ordering pizza as well as salads and sandwiches so the menu selection is expansive. Everyone was having a good time - the waitresses like their jobs - the place is just a fun place to go....We didn't eat outside because it was a little hot outside but next time we go we are definitely sitting in their outdoor area.
