Actually gets surprised by people eating inside. The prices are okay for portions. Basic stuff on the menu as you can imagine. It's got a lot of the classics such as pizza and spaghetti. They assume most are getting takeout. Came in and was planning to get it to go. Then we were able to sit at a table. It's about $10 for a plate of pasta. Then you add a few toppings. I got the classic Spaghetti Marinara. Lots of stuff on the plate. It came with a humongous piece of garlic bread. This made us get full quickly. For sure it's great for quick bites. It's closed Mondays. This is located on Central Avenue in a strip plaza so it's not authentic but it's still okay though.

After attending several of these dinners over the years, we knew we were in for a great evening -- but this particular event exceeded our expectations. As usual, Randy was hard at work when we arrived, orchestrating his staff and making sure the 150+ guests were seated in a timely manner so everyone could begin enjoying the evening's wine and food pairings. The organization and teamwork were impressive, especially considering the number of guests being served. We entered through what will be the future banquet area, which gave us an early preview of the project. From what we could see, it looks like Bella Mia is creating what could become one of the premier banquet spaces in the area. It was exciting to see the final stages of construction taking shape. Once we were seated, everything flowed perfectly. The entire staff worked extremely well together, with each of the six courses beginning with the wine pairing followed immediately by the corresponding food course. We were also happy to see our go-to server, Beth. With the restaurant so busy, she usually had to talk to us on the run. The Six-Course Dinner 1st Course - Caesar Salad Paired with Mohawk Sauvignon Blanc The salad was fresh and crisp, with a tasty Caesar dressing that was nicely balanced. It was topped with a couple of crisp, well-seasoned croutons and fresh-grated Parmesan cheese. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been a couple of anchovies -- although getting anchovies onto 150 plates isn't exactly an easy task! 2nd Course - Italian Stuffed Cubanelle Peppers Paired with Argento Minimalista Malbec The Cubanelle peppers were cooked perfectly al dente and filled with well-seasoned sausage. They were topped with a rich tomato sauce that brought all the flavors together beautifully. 3rd Course - Baked Manicotti Paired with Siglo Rioja Tempranillo The manicotti noodles were incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. They were filled with a delicate cheese blend, covered in a rich red sauce and finished with just the right amount of melted cheese. A classic Italian dish executed very well. 4th Course - Chicken Florentine Paired with Julia James Chardonnay The chicken breast was nicely portioned and lightly seasoned, sitting over a flavorful light broth. It was topped with spinach and lightly browned melted cheese. The combination was flavorful without being overly heavy. 5th Course - Steak Vesuvio Paired with Don Rodolfo Art of the Andes Tannat The medium-rare steak medallion was placed over a slice of skinless baked potato, which sat over a light and flavorful broth. A few sprinkled peas added a nice finishing touch. The steak was cooked exactly as we prefer it and paired extremely well with the Tannat. 6th and Final Course - Tiramisu Paired with Duchessa Lia Moscato d'Asti The perfect way to finish the evening. The sponge cake portion of the tiramisu was moist with a subtle coffee flavor, surrounded by a light and tasty mascarpone cheese and finished with a dusting of cocoa. The Moscato d'Asti was an excellent complement to the dessert. Overall Experience My wife and I have attended several of Bella Mia's wine events over the years, and we can honestly say this was the best one we have experienced. We enjoyed every single course, which actually made it exceptionally difficult to choose a favorite. Each wine pairing complemented its respective course extremely well, and the progression of the meal made for a fantastic dining experience. It's easy to understand why these wine dinners sell out nearly every month. There is an incredible amount of energy and teamwork behind these events, and it seems Randy and his crew are constantly looking for ways to improve and make each dinner better than the last. Bella Mia's wine dinners are held monthly on Mondays, when the restaurant is normally closed. The events are posted on their website, and based on our experience, we highly recommend making your reservation early because they normally sell out. Another outstanding evening at Bella Mia Fine Dining -- and one we were very fortunate to be able to attend at the last minute. We are already looking forward to the next one!

There was a picture of a bagel with avocado and tomato on google maps, that I wanted to try. I asked what it was bc I didn't see it on the menu and they said it was the avocado toast. They offered to put it on a bagel, and I asked if cream cheese could be added. This bagel is fantastic. It's so fresh. And you can see how perfect the avocado was; it was perfectly ripe. They also added some olive oil and her , but they left off the feta and tomato. I think those two toppings would have made this epic. Nonetheless, it was yummy. The drinks: I ordered a chai tea latte because they said they made their chai syrup in house. When I tasted it, I realized they made it in water first, rather than in milk, and it wasn't spicy like a traditional chai. I could taste cinnamon, but I didn't taste cloves, cardamom, black pepper, anise, ginger, etc. This was okay. Next time I might try one of their tea bags because they have a large selection. My partner ordered a mocha. He said it was good. Parking: They have a shared lot out front and we were able to find a space without issue. Overall impression: I intend to come back to try more of their food items and other teas. The people who work here are wonderful and the location is great.

We ordered thru Goldbelly and were so excited in advance, given what seems to be predominantly rave reviews on the I-net. This was the most disappointing pizza we have ever had, and we eat a lot of pizza from around the globe. The 4 pies did arrive nicely packed, but it ends there. A deep dish "pepperoni" had one slice of pepperoni above the sauce (my husband assured me that was for their packaging purposes and we'd find more under the sauce layer, but nope, ZERO pepperoni. ZERO seasoning.) It was just a mouthful of 'awful' stringy goo in every bite. I love cheese, but man, this pizza consisted of just a big glob of melted, tasteless cheese with some ladled, tasteless red sauce on top - again, I cannot impress enough the lack of flavor or seasoning - and a thick surrounding crust so hard, dry and tasteless that we thought for sure it was part of the cardboard packaging. You couldn't even cut through or bite the crust. And yes, we followed the baking directions to a T, so it was nothing on our end. We paid an enormous price for mounds of an inferior-quality cheese with sauce that I can find better in a Prego jar. Save your money and go buy a hunk of mozzarella and jarred pizza sauce for about $5, melt it in the microwave, and it will surpass this style of "Chicago deep dish." read more

I haven't written a Yelp review for years, but my husband and I had a phenomenal experience at Bartolini's last night!! We were in the area and searched yellow pages for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. This was a "local favorite" and now we know why! Our server was excellent and, despite being new, was perfectly attentive without being at the table too much. The food was just amazing and I actually sit here writing this review with my reheated leftovers of my Build-Your-Own pasta in front of me (I ordered gluten free pasta with carbonara sauce and spinach, broccoli, and mushrooms). The server let me know that the sauce does have gluten in it (which I'd give extra points because people who have Celiac's would need to know that!) but I only have been cutting back and am not outright allergic to gluten. It reheated perfectly and smells and tastes exactly like it did when we got it fresh to our table. My husband loved his lake perch and we even got a Hawaiian pizza to go (that's his favorite kind) to enjoy today). We give this restaurant and its staff 5 stars for sure!! Perfect place to take out your family for some good food in a casual setting. Almost every time I've been there one of the owners (Dom or Chris) come out to greet the customers. I have tried something new almost every trip, and have yet to be disappointed. (That goes for breakfast, lunch and dinner) It's hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, it would be the Eggs Benedict for breakfast and the Meatball Sandwich for lunch/dinner of course. Their daily pasta specials are also a great place to find something good that is not on the everyday menu. Don't forget to see Shelly at the bar while you are their either! I have been going to this place for almost 5 years now and it gets better every time. Bartolini's being featured on Food Network, Travel Channel, Chicago's Best, and the Steve Harvey show is just a testament to the reputation that they have built, but I'm still glad I can say I knew about Bartolini's before it was famous! read more

We stopped by on the way back to Indiana from O'Hare after a quick search on yelp. A great find! On a Friday night we were seated almost immediately and we both ordered a calzone with the warning that it could take at least 20 minutes. While it ended up taking a bit closer to 30 minutes we got updates from our waitress and she kept our drinks topped off. The calzones were delicious and we both had leftovers to take home. As we were finishing Chris, one of the owners, stopped by to see how things were, always a nice touch! While I didn't try any beer there was a large list of locals brews listed on the wall and I did see a couple people getting flights. One last thing to know, it's not a quiet place, it's loud but only because there are so many people there talking and having a good time, lots of kids on the night we were there as well. My experience with Bartolinis came when I was planning my parents 25th wedding anniversary and needed to book a reasonably priced banquet hall. I had called a few places but had a lot of trouble getting a call back, lucky for me someone from Bartolinis was available. The person was very attentive to my needs and was even able to make a few wonderful suggestions. I was a bit hesitant having never tried the food but I decided to roll the dice. Well needless to say by my rating but the party went off wonderfully. The room was more than big enough for our party of about 70. The food was excellent, I highly recommend the chicken. The service was attentive but never in the way and the owners came by to check on things a number of times. My parents could not thank us enough for an unforgettable party which is the best review I can give. Can't wait to go back and try the restaurant portion. read more

WATCH YOUR PURSE!!! Was at this "Gem" of a Restaurant, in the banquet side, for a Baby Shower. Food was great, Interior is small but very welcoming, Very nice family owned business, Until..., while opening Presents, It was found that one of the Wait Staff was rifling through a Purse while busing a table in the Banquet Room less then five feet away from Guests.... BOLD THIEF... She was actually CAUGHT WITH HER HAND IN THE PURSE BY ONE OF THE GUESTS....But because it was not caught ON CAMERA...SHE CONTINUES TO WORK THERE...Literally... minutes after being caught RED HANDED, was still working her station!?!?!?! Even though she was caught before she stole anything, I still consider her a SNEAKY THIEF!! What other intent is there in picking through SOMEONE ELSE'S PERSONALLY BELONGINGS! So, Diners beware.... I have know the owners since they opened in the plaza in 1995 and I have nothing but great respect for them. They have grown their businees over the years to what it is now and they make a point of knowing their customers and greeting them, it is a very family oriented atmosphere with good food and drink. There are those that have to complain and voice their opinions in a very negative manner, but that is all part of the business world, some people just cannot be pleased. I enjoy all types of food and have found everything that they serve to be of great taste and value for the money. Of course there are times when you get something you do not like and that is hwen with repect to the owners you bring it to their attention and they will do their very best to rectify the situation and please you. So give them a try and I am sure that you will not be disappointed. read more

Quite honestly in my experience the food has ranged from "good" (chicken Caesar) to flat out lousy (calamari was like rubber bands). The chicken I ordered most recently would've been excellent had they changed their shortening in recent days... but equally if not even more important as far as I'm concerned is service. I assume it's one of the owners - this guy is flat out arrogant. He has talked to me like I'm A piece of dirt -both in person and over the phone. he seems to have a rapport with other customers but apparently that treatment is reserved for regulars. I guess I'll never know because I'm done with this joint. Some people apparently just don't sense the need to continue to build their business and I guess this guy is one of them. read more

I love this place! The big guy on top, Dominic...is awesome :) He shares my love for quality food and he is very friendly. The service of Dora (hope that's right) was very good. I always love when someone comes to check on you and refill your glass asap without you having to hunt them down. Now let's get to the food. It was delicious!!! I've driven past there and never stopped. Now I am thinking of all the great food I've been missing out on. When I looked on my food locator app for restaurants that have been on The Food Network and this is the one that I found closest. I am so happy with this choice. I will be back here very soon! Bartolini's is literally right across the street from my house. This restaurant is one of the best I have been to. Their food is delicious and everything they serve is great. I have tried almost everything in their menu and every time I order something I haven't had I always walk out very happy. Their breakfast is like nothing I have tasted before. I love the fact that the owners are always greeting and very friendly, they walk from table to table to see how everyone is doing. This restaurant is very family oriented and you can tell that they love and take pride in what they do. Highly recommend for anyone that hasn't tried it. read more

This place is awesome!! Chris, Dominic and staff were more than accommodating as my fiance and I planned to have our wedding ceremony and reception at their facility. Only days before our wedding date we got an overwhelming response of guests and had to request a bigger area; which they did without hesitation. The banquet halls are beautiful and the food is absolutely delicious. The fried chicken was the guest's favorite. I've been to Bartolini's a number of times and every time the food was great! Everyone working there is always very friendly. More then once, the owners have come up to my family's table to see how we were enjoying our food. I always thought that was pretty cool of them to take a break, especially because the restaurant has always been full! Fabulous...once again! Had a surprise 60th Birthday party catered by Bartolini's on 4/26/14. The guests were more interested in where the food came from than they were interested in the surprise. The food was delivered on time, piping hot and the hit of the party. We also go there for the BBQ chicken pizza and the blackened chicken sandwich, unbelievably good. Had the veal here. Seriously disgusting. I'm not sure what the big draw is here. The meatballs are supposed to be impressive too. Nope. Just processed and or low quality. The chicken sandwich and ceasarr salad were ok though. Pizza. Also overrated. Not sure what the deal is. Probably a lack of choices in this town. No one in the house wanted the leftovers. The children hated the plain cheese. The crust is really soft and has a burnt taste and smell. It's like trying to be wood fire pizza in a tavern style and it's not working. The pizza actually had a bad smell, the cheese smelled sour. The actual cheese pizza had no taste. It was like I was eating play food. I will never be going back.

We arrived on Monday at 410pm just after they opened. They have a bar that seats about 10 and several tables in the storefront area. We chose to sit at the bar. At the time there was only one table occupied by a party of 4 in the dining area. We were greated by a lady who came out from the back and she told us she would be with us if a few minutes because they had just opened. We immediately liked her as she had a sassy, but friendly personality. We had called at 4pm when they opened and ordered a medium 18 inch thin crust pizza with sausage, mushrooms and 1/2 jalapeño. We did this to shorten the wait for dinner because we were hungry. Also, Monday is their 1/2 price any size pizza day for dine in or take out. Our server, who we think is one of the owners came back and we ordered a draft beer and wine. They offer beer and wine. I didn't see any mixed drinks, but I'm not sure. Our drinks came right away. The pizza arrived and we really enjoyed it. It had a thing crisp crust with a glaze of tomato sauce. I would order extra sauce next time, but most probably enjoy it the way it came out. The sausage was tasty and the mushrooms and jalapeño were fresh, not canned (bonus). It was topped with an adequate amount of mozzarella. Not good at giving ratings, but I would say 8 out of 10 which is high to our taste. Shortly after our pizza arrived the place literally filled up and there was a line for people picking up. We will definitely be back. Now one of our favorites in the area.

Some pizza is delicious, some pizza is affordable, but Mid-Villa on Mondays is both. I never dined in, but the pick-up service was always quick and professional. With Trinity closing, I won't be around anymore, but I want to thank you for all the years of fueling my four-hour night classes. You are one of the best restaurants in Palos and one of the things that I'll miss the most.

Gene & Jude style. There is an order taker and a host of people working on the food. Kind of a Seven Dwarves feel to it in a good way. Beefs, Dogs, Sausages and fries etc. It's good and pretty quick. Make the stop.
