I would not recommend this company to anyone. We have used the service for years for openings,…read moreclosings and service in between (mostly because we had renters in our home for 2 of the last 4 years). For the first two years, they were disorganized, but always very nice and the pool always looked great. We would rarely receive a bill and had to ask for one, which was often wrong. The service visits were supposed to be bi-weekly, but sometimes they would show up weekly (we are unaware of the frequency of visits while we had renters). We let them know of the mixup and eventually received the corrected bill (at the end of the season, for the whole season). They only accept Venmo as online payment, which credit card companies apparently see as a fraud hazard, so getting a proper bill and paying it was a challenge. Either way, we still liked them because they were always so nice. This year, I called and spoke to a woman from Atlantis Pools to set up our pool opening and bi-weekly service. The opening (May 8) was fine except when they left, the pool was a little cloudy. They said they would return to vacuum it once it settled and "finalize the opening" the next day. No one showed up the next day, but instead came on May 13. This was a young woman who was new (and alone) and didn't know how to do everything. According to a conversation later with the owner, she didn't know which vacuum to use (or something to that effect), which is why the pool still had debris in it when she left. She also didn't know how to connect the Polaris (perhaps send someone with her until she learns everything??). She came again on May 15 and connected the Polaris, finalizing the pool opening. I was never told the "finalize the opening" visits would each be an extra $95 charge. I didn't request these visits. Our bill states the charges as a "green to clean" charge, but our pool was not green. These things aren't even the worst of it. When the first actual service visit came around, no one showed up! I called the owner, who was rude and dismissive. He said we weren't on his calendar despite me setting it all up with whomever answered the phone the first time I called. He eventually said, "It's not going to happen today! I can send someone out tomorrow." He said asked which plan we were on, weekly or biweekly. I said biweekly. Someone came out the next morning and again (not sure why) in the afternoon. The young woman and a man walked up to our pool pump, looked at it and said, "F*** this. I ain't doin' sh**. Let's ride." We have a security camera and saved the footage. The next service date came and went with no visit. We let the owner know of all of this and he continued the pattern of unprofessional behavior. He suddenly decided that we hadn't given them a service contract (that we never received and have never had in the 3+ years we've used this company) so that's why they didn't show up. We checked spam folders, just in case. No such contract was sent. Save your time and frustration. Call someone else.

Highly Recommend Sunrise Pools and Spas! I can't say enough…read moregreat things about Nathan and Amanda at Sunrise Pools and Spas! Even though they are located in Yorktown and service the Peninsula, including Gloucester, as well as the Southside, they also make the trip to Virginia Beach, and I'm so glad I found them! They showed up on time, were incredibly reliable, friendly, and honest, and did a very thorough job with my pool. Nathan also took the time to teach me some helpful pool care tips, which I really appreciated. Their communication is excellent, and their prices are extremely fair. Honestly, they are more affordable than any other pool company I've found in my area! It's refreshing to find a company that genuinely cares about its customers, takes pride in its work, and provides such great service without overcharging. I will absolutely continue using Nathan and Amanda at Sunrise Pools and Spas for all my pool needs. If you're in Virginia Beach, the Peninsula, Gloucester, or the surrounding Southside area and need a trustworthy pool company, I highly recommend giving them a call. You won't be disappointed!

To clarify, I did not cancel a confirmed Saturday appointment. Your company canceled on Thursday…read moreand said you could come Saturday, but no appointment time was ever provided. I called and texted numerous times on Friday trying to confirm when you would be coming. My text was read, but I received no response. Then, without any prior confirmation, I suddenly received an "on our way" notification on Saturday, giving me approximately 40 minutes' notice. I was not available with such little notice, which is why I instructed the technician not to come. This was not me refusing a scheduled appointment--it was the direct result of your company's lack of communication and failure to provide an appointment window despite my repeated attempts to obtain one.
