Brandy Melville - It's so cute inside. Very aesthetic

Of all of the clothing shops my daughter goes to, Brandy Melville's always at the top of the list…read more There's bad press about this brand (just watch the documentary), but I think more people visit now, young and old! Now, there's a security guard who won't let you bring any food inside (place drinks on the stool outside of the door), and he minds the line that can go half a block long. Prices are affordable but not cheap - can't say that all materials are quality though! You could return the clothes with tags on within 30 days with receipt for store credit/ no refunds. All items are ONE SIZE and they are not consistent, so be forewarned!

I always wondered why people like to use the fitting rooms here, b/c I thought most of these products were so basic and simple that the fit should be fine. It's actually nice to try items on as each piece could be made slightly different. I ended up not liking a tank I had grabbed in multiple colors because it looked too small for me. Randomly grabbed a pair of earrings I had seen near the register as my final item to purchase along with a pair of nice shorts, and a couple of other basic tanks. I wasn't sure about the earrings, but I received so many compliments the times I've worn them that I am so happy with my purchase. The price of the items here is also decent. The fitting room was kind of icky as there was gum on the curtain and the room did not look like it had been cleaned.

I recently visited the Walnut Creek location while shopping for several special occasions,…read moreincluding my birthday, my son's birthday, and his graduation. I had a great experience overall! I never felt rushed, had plenty of options to choose from, and found everything I was looking for, plus a few things I didn't know I needed. My only disappointment was at checkout. After purchasing nearly $1,000 worth of clothing, my items were placed into the bag without much care. In the past, my Aritzia purchases have been carefully folded and wrapped in tissue paper, which always made the experience feel more special. I wish that same attention to detail had been given this time. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would happily return. A little more care with packaging would have been the perfect ending to an otherwise great shopping experience.

I came into the store to try on clothes and return two tops I had ordered online. Unfortunately, I…read morewas not greeted upon entering, and despite the store being relatively empty with fewer than ten customers inside, most of the sales associates were standing around chatting instead of assisting customers. No one offered me a fitting room or asked if I needed help while shopping, which made the experience feel unwelcoming. When I went to return the tops I ordered online, I was incorrectly told that my items did not qualify for a refund because the return window had supposedly passed, even though I had received the order that same day. The cashier repeatedly insisted I was ineligible for a refund until she eventually realized it was a mistake, yet no apology was offered for the confusion or inconvenience. For a company that prides itself on a semi-luxury customer service, the experience felt dismissive and disappointing. As a person of color, the interaction left me feeling especially overlooked and undervalued as a customer. Not worth the price and headache!

While there's no longer music that plays in the morning and the main street is now closed to…read moretraffic, Broadway Plaza is still one of my favorite places to be in Walnut Creek. There's a good mix of restaurants, clothing, and jewelry shops, most of which are high quality brands and the mall constantly stays fresh and vibrant although I do wish they had more restrooms outside of the ones below Industrious. Some weekends they have a maker fare or live music, but most of the time the fountain is just central to the comfortable seating area, that during the winter gets some decor for the holidays. All in all, I really do love this area and still find myself coming back year after year.

This review is ONLY about the changes to the way you pay for parking…read more The new parking app makes me never want to shop at Broadway Plaza ever again, and I've been shopping there since I was a girl in the 80s. There was a period of time when I probably shopped at Broadway Plaza 1-2 times PER MONTH (now I'm stuck paying off my credit cards but that's my own fault and a separate issue). What was wrong with the old system? It worked just fine. But now you have to download an app to get out of the parking garage, EVEN IF you were there for less than the three hours of courtesy parking. It's absolutely insane. And even worse, there's NO cell reception in the garage (at least with AT&T) so you can't download the app without returning to the open air mall. Maybe that's why they changed things up? So that for people who haven't been to Broadway Plaza since before the app was rolled out, they might be able to charge for more time? It's unbelievable. And... you have to enter a bunch of personal information. Why do I need to download an app to pay for parking after I've already shopped at the mall, potentially pushing one of the tenants over their percentage rent breakpoint? It's outrageous. I don't mind having the ParkMobile app for parking because it allows me to park on many different cities' streets with little to no hassle. So I'm not anti-parking app. I am anti-Metropolis parking app. At least before, you got a time-stamped ticket so you knew exactly when to leave if you wanted to avoid paying. Now you have to remember to check the precise time you entered the garage, assuming it's even time-stamping accurately. And how do you know precisely where it time-stamps you? Macerich, do better. Relegate this parking situation to the annals of retail hell. Thank you for your consideration. [curtsy]
