This is my local pharmacy and I really want to like them, but for some reason, they are always shortstaffed and most of the shelves are empty of the things that I need from a pharmacy. The people like interact with are really nice though both at the cashier and the pharmacy when they are available. They've worked with me before to make sure I could get the prescriptions I needed ordered in in a timely manner. I want them to succeed, but it's pretty rough right now. Bartell's at Bridle Trails was our pharmacy for 40 years, then the mask mandate hit and I noticed none of the staff helping customers wore their mask correctly. One blatantly wore it under his nose all the time - it was clearly a worn out cloth mask. After the mandate expired, I asked him why he wore a mask at all, and he just responded it was required. I went into the Bella Bottega pharmacy today for my flu shot (pharmacist did a really nice job) and there was the same assistant still wearing the same worn out mask! We already moved all our Rx to a non-Bartell pharmacy because of him - I guess this means finding a new vax location as well. read more

Horrible service at the pharmacy. The shorted me 6 pills on my last refill and said just come back in and we will get them for you because they did not have them in stock. I went back to get my t pulls and they told me I had to pay $45 for them and that it was my issue. This place is horrible. Probably the worst pharmacy and people - called right after doctor visit for urgent medication. Was told it would be ready in 45 mins. When I showed up to pick the medication up 2 hours later, the order was still not filled and then they declined to dispense medication cos doctor had not "prescribed it correctly". The doctor office is now closed for the weekend and I have to go without my medication for 3 days. If they had been honest and done their jobs to fill the prescription when they said they would they could've had the doctor correct the mistake and issued a new prescription. When I asked for anything they could do for me they said "we will have to break a pack which we don't want to do" and starting yelling at me for not having the doctor fill out the prescription correctly and that I am "unnecessarily argumentative". Just appalled that this behavior is allowed to continue. Like seriously. They may dispense 100s of prescriptions a day and this may not be a big deal for them but for someone has to now go through a weekend without their medication because of their incompetence. I hope they regain their humanity some day. read more

I called the corporate number for bartells and left a message to be called back and was never contacted. But I just transferred my very expensive medication prescription to another pharmacy so it's fine. If you're tired of crappy service then make the switch. You'll be glad you did. read more

Oh how far the mighty have fallen since Rite Aid took them over. This used to be a great pharmacy, for a few years they did everything right, on time or faster than expected, and always had what we needed. Now no longer the case. There are still a few employees that have been there for a long time and I can see the frustration on their faces as well. Getting a prescription from the pharmacy use to be a quick trip in, now it means at minimum a 30 minute wait. Coupons for drugs use to never be a problem, now that they are on the Rite Aid software it's constant. I've been on hold with the pharmacy for 40 minutes trying to get an issue worked out. I'm still on hold... Guess what that's 40 minutes I'm not getting paid at work today, so far it's still counting. Still this is better than dealing with Safeway, or a few other companies we tried. So 2 stars for what aught to be 1 star because they are still better than some. read more

I've been going to this Pharmacy for the last year and the service is terrible. I've waited 45 minutes and couldn't wait longer so had to return a second time to get my prescriptions. They recently closed a location and prescriptions didn't transfer so it's my responsibility to call and get it resubmitted. They also never answer the phone and submitting a refill request on the website goes into a black hole. I would not recommended this pharmacy and I will be switching. read more

I shop here each year for our company's holiday gifts. They have a great selection of "made in Seattle" options, often at the best prices. Many times they have BOGO offers on items I'm already planning to buy. This year they were out of two very important items that really 'make' our customer gift bags sparkle so I worked with Will Collins (the manager) to pull from other stores in the area. Not only did he coordinate that on my behalf but also went above and beyond to personally ensure a next day delivery was made of one of the out of stock gifts. This is just another reason I like to shop local and small. Their customer service is outstanding and I will continue to return for this reason and so many more. read more

The worst pharmacy i've ever been to. Called in my prescription at 9am and they told me it would be ready in 1 hour. That evening I came in to pick it up around 5pm and waited 30 minutes in line just to hear that it wasn't ready yet and it would be another hour. The next morning I came by to pick it up at 9:15am and it still wasn't ready. Even after receiving a text saying it was ready. Waited 30 minutes for her to get it ready. Seriously so awful. Very rarely do I give a business a low rating, but after my experience today and over the past 18 months, I believe the Bartell Drugs pharmacy deserves this 2 star rating. I have been visiting to this location to refill my prescriptions each month but have decided that I no longer want to come here because it has CONSISTENTLY been a very poor, slow experience. I consider myself to be a very easy going customer who is understanding, but after 18 visits that have never been quick, I can't say I am very pleased with Bartells. On top of that, the team members are not particularly friendly with me and do not make me feel welcome. As a regular customer, I try to do my best to keep things moving. This means I always have my ID ready in hand when I speak with a team member from the pharmacy so they can find my prescription that I've requested a refill ahead of time. Once I actually get in contact with someone, the time spent with them is never more than two minutes. However, I've never had to wait less than 10 minutes, regardless of time of day or how busy the clinic is. And 10 minutes is generous for me to say, as it's typically more like 20. I have even alternated between the drive in service and going inside to see if that makes any difference as well as going at different times during the day. 10 minute wait, 18 months... That is 3 hours (minimum) of my time waiting in line to be helped during my time here for employees that don't seem to appreciate my business and helpfulness to take care of my order and move on to the next person in line. Extremely sluggish staff lacking Customer service courtesy. It has been like this for ages with no improvement. Really pathetic

The manager greeted us when we walked through the door asking "How are you doing today?" He was not looking in our direction. I said, "Great, how about yourself?" He remained faced towards the wall adjusting product on the sleeves and said "I'm doing very well thank you." We were in the store about four minutes when the intercom buzzed, "cashiers to the front". About ninety seconds later "all cashiers to the front." On the way out the door the same manager saw three people in line and called Virginia to the register. She said to the gentleman in front of us "I'll take you on three," in a brusque manner. "No thank you," said the man in a motorcycle helmet replied (he was next in line). We went to Virginia's line. She smiled and let us know we would have to sign for the card. She was professional. As we left he other cashier, Zach, was laughing and chatting with the motorcycle man. The store is well laid out, clean, tidy, and had all the items in stock that we wanted. We took our time looking at craft supplies and picking out Fathers's Day cards. Two days before the holiday the card selection was more than adequate to choose from. We will shop here again due to the convenient location. read more

I had the unfortunate experience trying to get a prescription filled at this Bartell/Rite Aid location. The person "helping" said they did not receive a prescription sent the day before by my PCP. The pharmacy tech called my PCP to have the prescription resent. After waiting 45 minutes at the store. I went home empty handed. He assured me he would call once the prescription was filled. Three hours later, I called and spoke to an unnamed pharmacy tech. He was so rude and unhelpful. He confirmed the pharmacy received the initial prescription and the resubmitted prescription. So they have 2 prescriptions. Upon calling my PCP, it seems this pharmacy has a reputation of wasting peoples' time and having them resubmit prescriptions unnecessarily. After all the wasted time, they do not even carry the prescription! The pharmacy tech told me to go to another location while knowing that the prescription is not carried/stocked by any of the Bartell locations. He gave false information. My care has been delayed by their incompetence and negligence. What a shame to have someone like that work in health care, especially when someone comes in feeling unwell and vulnerable. The whole experience was awful. The pharmacy tech was rude, unkind, and unhelpful. He hung the phone up on me. Please do not send any of your prescriptions to this location or any Bartell/Rite Aid. They lack accountability and empathy. They do not prioritize your heath needs. The website states as a core value "friendly staff is committed to making your experience a positive one." It definitely did not provide that value today. read more

I am becoming frustrated with this pharmacy, so I'm dropping my rating from 4 stars to 2. It has become a real struggle lately to get things done here. I dread trying to refill my prescriptions now, since I never know if it will be easy or a huge production. More than once now, they've said they hadn't received a prescription after a doctor had called it in. They sometimes don't return calls, which can be very stressful when what you are calling about is a problem refilling an important medication. The store is still fun. They have good chocolate. But the pharmacy is problematic. read more

It is sad to watch what was once a respected local drugstore chain deteriorate into someplace no one I know will shop at any longer. Today I visited the pharmacy for a vaccine appointment and was 15 minutes early. That was good because the line was seven people long. The two employees working the pharmacy counter seemed courteous and helpful but obviously stretched. When I finally got to the counter, I was then sent to a different window to "check in" (I could have gone there originally had anyone indicated it was their process. Then I was sent back to the original area to wait (no seating.) Eventually 15 minutes after my appointment time, I was able to receive my vaccine (again, the employee was kind and helpful.) I had a lot of time to watch while waiting and many of the people trying to pick up prescriptions were told they would have to either come back or wait - even though they had been assured earlier they'd be ready. This store (as well as the other Redmond Bartell which was recently closed) is obviously under staffed. The pharmacy area was dirty, water fountains out of service, medication drop broken, and I could go on. I just won't be shopping here again. read more

I was looking for passport application photos for our baby and had a bad experience. The associate was impolite and said it's not easy to take pictures of baby because the baby cannot stay still. We took a picture of our baby a month ago for a different service at the same location and insisted that we would hold the baby and make sure to get it right. He was extremely impatient and we dint want to get the pictures and stepped out of the store. Probably will never return to this store for photo services. read more

**Update 2/10/14** I am still a huge fan of this store, but my opinion of the pharmacy has totally tanked - so much so that it pains me to write this, but although I still give the store 5 stars, I'd rank the pharmacy at 1-2 stars. If that. As mentioned in my initial post, I don't often use the pharmacy services here. But hubby does. Regularly. And I am often tasked with picking up his meds. And the experience rarely is quick or efficient. And the other day, it was downright infuriating, so much so that even hubby admitted, he reached his breaking point and will, like the rest of us, transfer his prescriptions to Target. Here's what happened: we got the automated phone call, notifying us that his prescription was ready for pick up. (I love that feature, right? One would think, wow, this is efficient, right? But Noooooooo, there's where the efficiency ends). He goes to the drive-through window. It opens at 10am and he's there at 11am, 10 minutes after I got the phone call at home. And he's first in line. And he waits. And waits. And picks up the phone to call inside but it rings and rings and no one answers. And he rings the buzzer and no one responds. An employee sees him knocking on the glass and hurriedly walks away. The pharmacist inside has his back to the drive-up window as he helps the people in line in the store - people who came to the counter after my hubby was already there for 10 minutes. Hubby waves his arms in the window. The customers in line at the counter see him but no one says anything to the pharmacist who is working the counter. I know, it's like a scene out of a sit-com. Except hubby was not laughing. He was furious in a way I'd never seen him. Two cars pulled up in the drive-through behind him, also waiting, watching this mad man (my hubby) wave his arms and ring the bell and wait for service that never came. He waited 20 minutes before coming home. He was angrier than I'd ever seen him. I asked why he didn't go in the store when no one helped him at the drive-thru, and he said he was in no condition to talk to any Bartell's employee, he was fuming so. He said it was lucky he didn't have a heart condition, waiting to pick up his heart meds; he'd have died in line and no one would notice. I went back at 5pm to get his meds and went in the store. I waited 10 minutes in the line before being helped, and I told the pharmacist what happened. He simply said he was working alone that morning and couldn't work the drive-thru window as well as the counter. I asked, couldn't you have at least put up a sign saying as much instead of leaving customers out there for over 20 minutes, just waiting, when you are supposed to be open and servicing this window? No response except for a weak "I'm sorry". Needless to say, this experienced finally convinced hubby to transfer his prescriptions to Target whose hours are longer and who are WAY more efficient. It's further away from our home, but worth it. This was SUCH a horrid experience. read more

I have been going to this Bartells for nearly 10 years, and somehow the service has gotten worse. I don't intend on going back because Rite-Aid is a much more friendly and helpful place to pick up my prescription. I take Adderall for my ADHD and the good pharmacists at Bartells never fail to make me feel like a drug addict for trying to fill my prescription. As they are a controlled substance, the prescription comes three months at a time, one month each, and they are dated with "Do not refill before (April, May, June, etc.) 1st". I mistakenly brought in the wrong month once and the pharmacist treated me like garbage and was reluctant to believe me that I had the correct month in my car, or that I wasn't trying to scam them for access to drugs. Absolutely understand the need for caution, as it is a substance that people abuse, but don't default to "anyone on this medication doesn't need it and is only using it recreationally". Rude. Not that their attitudes are an issue, since they never have enough Adderall in stock for me to even fill my prescription completely. It's been months of this. You're located next to a hospital, please figure it out. Or, don't. I'll be going to Rite-Aid from now on. read more

This place is killer. For a drugstore anyway. Because I'm such a stubborn jackass about going to see my awesome doctor, I got bronchitis and had to go get some prescription cough medicine. They pharmacy lady was really helpful and not the least put out when I asked her to find me some over-the-counter items in addition to my cough medicine. Generally speaking, all the employees are better than average and don't seem to be headed for the door. Besides the drugs I like the fact that the aisles are low enough that you can see over them. They are about chest-high for me. It makes it so much easier to find the outstanding candy aisle. Also, they have a unexpectedly large supply of grocery items, including a favorite of one of my friends... Sacramento Tomato Juice. Apparently he'd been looking for years to find it and there it is. Not only that, but this one is located right next to the best grocery store in Redmond, Larry's, so it's the one-stop shopping of Fred Meyer, only it doesn't suck. read more

Don't go there for prescriptions! Since the first time I asked my doctor to sent my prescriptions to this Pharmacy I had problems. They NEVER "find" the fax and claim the doctor have the wrong fax number. The problem is that every time I call them, they fax it again (to the same number) and then they finally "find" it. Not only that, they always make me wait like 30-45 minutes. For what?!?! To drop 4 capsules into a small orange plastic tube?!?!?! WTF?!?! I've changed to Fred Meyer's Pharmacy. Let's hope they can find a simple fax. read more

I think a lot of people don't realize that Bartell's is more than just good drugs. They often have small home electronics (toasters, toothbrushes, etc) and food items that are much cheaper than at other larger stores. It's also nice to visit a drug store where the employees don't seem ready to bolt. They are kind, careful, and pleasant. In terms of pharmacy services, Bartell's excels. I once needed a hard-to-find medicine RIGHT THEN and they called Long's Drugs to find it for me. Not bad, calling your competitor. My only complaint is that their computer system is very 1995. Unlike CVS, you can't pick up your prescription willy-nilly at whatever Bartell's you happen to be near. Correction, you CAN, but once you pick it up in a new location, the prescription information is transferred to that store for good. Hassle hassle. read more

So, I've finally gotten smart and left Bartell Drugs for our pharmacy. The final straw was Thursday/Friday before we left. Thursday I had my physical and they called in my updated prescriptions. I went in mid-day Thursday with my script and asked to have JUST ONE refilled for our trip. She took down my name, phone number, script information and birthdate. I specified that I needed to have it filled before Friday morning as we were leaving town and I needed my migraine medication with me. No call on Thursday (nothing unusual -- their phone recording telling me my prescription is ready is inconsistent at best). So on the way out of town Friday morning, Russ drops me off at Bartells and goes across the street to get coffee. Bartell's can't find my prescription. Oh wait, it just got faxed in overnight (Thursday). Oh wait, the doctor called it in to the wrong store (which is odd because the doctor verified the store, location and phone number during my physical). We'lI fix it and fill it right away. 15 minutes later, I get my prescription and I ask the pharmacist why they didn't at least CALL me to let me know that they were having issues? I left my information and let them know I needed it before we left town. Not even a phone call to let me know they hadn't received the script from the doctor's office. The pharmacist was pretty much unconcerned that they didn't fill my script on time. If this had been the first time I'd had issues with Bartell's it would be different. But there is an issue of some kind EVERY TIME I refill a prescription with them. EVERY TIME. I've switched to QFC Pharmacy across the street. I'm done. i gave one star because there aren't negative stars. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

The photo service was pretty good. Jade, she's one of the people up front working on the days I went in this week to print photos for XMAS gifts, she's rad and I hope they take care of her. Observations while waiting for the photos to print, The magazine wall creeps me out with the wide selection of LIFE® special issues, like Dean, Presley, Vietnam, maybe even Arnold Palmer. also Oprah® next to a massive lion who appears as gentle as Aslan. Then I had to pee, the restrooms are locked until someone opens it for you. I understand that some people like to steal eyeliner, I don't. There were three people waiting in line at each check stand, I worried all of them had to pee, too. Fortunately, none did. So it was just me who had to pee. The 5x7 photos were on sale, half off, so I came back later to print more and also didn't drink any fluids for one hour before arrival. read more

I am never going back to this place. I went to the pharmacy and the manager or whatever she was behind the counter announced to everyone what I was in line to get and what I had. I've never dealt with someone so rude and blatantly unaware of what she was doing. Not only was it embarrassing because the line was long and there were people around...but I was embarrassed for her because she was obviously incompetent and I don't want someone irresponsible handling important prescriptions. I've never been a huge fan of this store. I normally choose to go to the Bella Botega one instead. Unfortunately, when calling the pharmacy today at Bella Botega, I was connected to the RTC one. The Pharmacist or Pharm Tech or whatever they were wasn't as kind as they could have been, to say the least. She took an extremely angry tone with me the entire conversation. Then proceeded to ask me if I knew which store I was talking to, and responded in a tone of a word that I will not use on this website.... And continued to try to tell me that it was RTC and not Bella Botega, which I told her I understood that. She continued until I hung up on her. The reason the Bella Botega number rang to them was because Bella Botega's phones were down. I can understand if I was being rude to her to act that way, but I was just simply trying to get help. read more
