I called their studio yesterday to get a quote. The woman I spoke to quoted me the following: Portfolio Session $1,325. This includes a 90-minute photoshoot, 4 outfits, and 4 photos. 40 photos will be taken for me to choose from, but I can only select 4. Each additional photo is $225. I asked her, "So it's $331.25/photo?" The woman answered, "No, it's $1,325 for studio time, photographer time and 4 photos". I said, "Yes, the photographer will spend 90 minutes taking photos and I will have 40 photos to choose from, but I will only get 4 photos. So that means I'm paying $1,325 for 4 photos, which is $331/photo". The woman answered, "Sure if you want to look at it that way." I asked, "What other way is there to look at if at the end i'm only getting 4 photos and I paid $1,325 to get them.". The woman answered in the most condescending tone, "Is there anything else I can help you with?". After that experience, I went on Google and left a 1-star review describing my experience. There's nothing wrong with charging high prices for higher quality service, but own it and be upfront about it. Prices are what they are, so own it and don't be condescending to customers. About an hour later, I got a call from the owner Brook Clark. She saw the review and started telling me how the most important thing for her business is customer experience. She went on and on for about 5 minutes about how customer experience is of utmost importance to her, even when she opened the studio with a newborn on one shoulder, so she wanted to apologize for what I experienced. I said ok, I appreciate the call, the prices are high, so not the right fit for me. Later the owner, Brook, texted me a referral to another photographer, which I really appreciated, and said "Thank you". An hour later, Brook texted me asking to remove the negative review from Google. I agreed to do that. A few hours later, I was talking to my friend who did his photoshoot at this studio and he said they are expensive, but he liked his photos. So I texted Brook back, saying I'm interested in booking a photoshoot because of his feedback. Then the owner replied back, saying her company won't be able to give me "the experience" I deserve and recommended another studio. In summary: When customers leave a REAL review about their experience with her business, she manipulates them into removing the negative review and pretends she's sincerely sorry for a poor experience. And instead of taking that as an opportunity to train her staff on delivering a better customer experience and ask the consumer, "How can I make it up to you?", she punishes consumers for speaking the truth by refusing to do business with them. I'm a female business owner and would do anything to support other female entrepreneurs, but this woman is a con artist. How many other customers did she manipulate to take down their REAL Google and Yelp reviews? What kind of experience do you expect for the prices they charge? The lighting was bad, made me look 10 years older and accentuated every line on my face. It left me feeling pretty disgusted with how I look. Off the bat, the experience is just different. You meet at cute cafe. Rose goes over what to expect quickly and you head out around the area to snap a few different backdrops. She knew exactly what looked good and especially tips for posing to look the most natural. At no point in time will you struggle to figure it out on your own (like my past experience). I love that you meet in this casual setting. It takes the pressure off to begin. She asked the purpose for my appointment which was so thoughtful and personal. I relayed that I got a promotion to a senior leadership position and I really wanted to convey fresh energetic vibes which she totally captured. I felt like a quintessential millennial boss! From here, you get going on the snapping. Chatting with Rose was actually my favorite part. It was easy, fun and honestly a great time. How many times can you say that about getting work headshots done?! After about 20 min and 4 locations - we sat back down to go over images and what packages I wanted. I chose THE PROFESSIONAL $449 | 6 Final Edited Images -- Duplicates in Black & White -- Sized for Both Print & Web-Use -- Additional Edited Images - $20/ea. All together was $49 (deposit) + $400 and I tipped $80. It may seem a bit pricey but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR and more! I loved that I didn't have to go into a stuffy studio. $49 deposit was added to this. It was genuinely hard to choose. I loved every one! I went with the ones that had a warmer back drop. I was wearing white and the contrast was just perfect. She knows what she is doing! I didn't expect to want to use these for social media but I totally did. Rose even gave me an unedited version right after our session so I could use for our company website without waiting - it was awesome. I am forever going to refer every person I know to come here as long as Rose is the photographer. Will post my photos once the edited ones are back to me!!

Garrett was kind and helpful during our 30min session. I was not terribly impressed with the results, but also felt badly about having taken up his time and so I paid the $300 with the hopes that the two photos would look better after post-processing. Of course, there wasn't much of a difference in the final product. When I subsequently reached out to Happy Hour Headshot to let them know that I was not happy with the work and wouldn't be using the photos for my profile, their response was to let me know that "from a technical and creative perspective [my] images are exactly what [they] shoot for" and that they could offer me a "discounted re-shoot". Clearly, I am at fault here for having paid for a product I didn't like (and I don't expect to get any sort of refund at this point), but I would certainly not recommend this service to anyone.

Julian was there early, had everything set up and ready to go. Because there was extra time at the front, we were able to fit in the executive team before the board. It was great Julian was flexible. He got everyone in and out hitting the timeline. Julian was so flexible that because he was going to be in the area the next day, he wanted to stop by and take the photos of the two guys who weren't there. It worked out great. I googled and emailed about 3 photographers and Toni was the first to respond (within an hour or two). She immediately gave me a time slot that would work. The whole process was incredibly efficient and quick, and did a lot to reduce my stress levels. The actual session itself was perfect. Toni is friendly and relaxed but also professional and efficient. We had 30 minutes (I only needed 2 photos; I did Package A) and I never felt rushed. A lot of people think that you can just take a nice photo with your friend who has a decent camera but the money for a professional is so worth it. You get what you pay for. The lighting, the equipment, the editing is all good but I think having a photographer who knows how to pose you to your best advantage (hair, posture, face angles, everything) and get you to relax is what you're really paying for.
