I have never witnessed worse customer service! Very disturbing! If you're looking at their 5-star review and impressed, don't be. This is how they got that rating. I called their studio yesterday to get a quote. The woman I spoke to quoted me the following: Portfolio Session $1,325. This includes a 90-minute photoshoot, 4 outfits, and 4 photos. 40 photos will be taken for me to choose from, but I can only select 4. Each additional photo is $225. I asked her, "So it's $331.25/photo?" The woman answered, "No, it's $1,325 for studio time, photographer time and 4 photos". I said, "Yes, the photographer will spend 90 minutes taking photos and I will have 40 photos to choose from, but I will only get 4 photos. So that means I'm paying $1,325 for 4 photos, which is $331/photo". The woman answered, "Sure if you want to look at it that way." I asked, "What other way is there to look at if at the end i'm only getting 4 photos and I paid $1,325 to get them.". The woman answered in the most condescending tone, "Is there anything else I can help you with?". After that experience, I went on Google and left a 1-star review describing my experience. There's nothing wrong with charging high prices for higher quality service, but own it and be upfront about it. Prices are what they are, so own it and don't be condescending to customers. About an hour later, I got a call from the owner Brook Clark. She saw the review and started telling me how the most important thing for her business is customer experience. She went on and on for about 5 minutes about how customer experience is of utmost importance to her, even when she opened the studio with a newborn on one shoulder, so she wanted to apologize for what I experienced. I said ok, I appreciate the call, the prices are high, so not the right fit for me. Later the owner, Brook, texted me a referral to another photographer, which I really appreciated, and said "Thank you". An hour later, Brook texted me asking to remove the negative review from Google. I agreed to do that. A few hours later, I was talking to my friend who did his photoshoot at this studio and he said they are expensive, but he liked his photos. So I texted Brook back, saying I'm interested in booking a photoshoot because of his feedback. Then the owner replied back, saying her company won't be able to give me "the experience" I deserve and recommended another studio. In summary: When customers leave a REAL review about their experience with her business, she manipulates them into removing the negative review and pretends she's sincerely sorry for a poor experience. And instead of taking that as an opportunity to train her staff on delivering a better customer experience and ask the consumer, "How can I make it up to you?", she punishes consumers for speaking the truth by refusing to do business with them. I'm a female business owner and would do anything to support other female entrepreneurs, but this woman is a con artist. How many other customers did she manipulate to take down their REAL Google and Yelp reviews? What kind of experience do you expect for the prices they charge? I am a person who hates getting her picture taken, and usually dislikes the way they come out. The tl;dr for the rest of this is that Studio B made me both enjoy the experience of taking photos AND love the pictures that resulted from the session! Making an appointment was super easy - I filled out their online contact form and received a call the next day, in which I got all my initial questions answered and an offer to help with styling and wardrobe if I wanted it. Makayla was my photographer, and she's such a genuine sweetheart. We started with her asking me questions about myself, what I wanted to convey with my photos, and why I wanted head shots in the first place. There's a beautiful little park in downtown Issaquah we went to for outdoor photos; we also took some in front of the studio and inside. We chatted throughout the session like old friends! I instantly relaxed and felt super comfortable throughout the session, and Makayla gave me great directions to get the best poses and angles. I received the digital gallery to make my selections within a few days and I was blown away by the quality of the photos, even before any retouching! Again, I'm a person who dislikes most photos of me, but I liked every single one of these pictures and had SUCH a hard time making my top pics for ordering. I had seen some of Brooke's work from friends. But had to do my research!! I looked at approx 10 other high rated photogs in San Fran and SEA. I was looking for a business "head shot". I was very surprised - I looked at the other 10 head shot galleries, saving Brooke's for last. It was a 3-4x step change in quality. So I booked- went in at 10:30 AM, had my gallery back by 5 that day. Made my decision the next morning and has final that afternoon. What do I mean by quality - she catches you as you like I did not see to nearly the degree as other shots - she shoots many angles and you get comfortable to be yourself, after 3 minutes I was relaxed and not a Cheshire Cat - she is very thorough up front on what you want to use the photo for-and uses that extensively when taking the shots - she's not heavy handed-if you want a "Glamour Shot" I wouldn't say don't go to her-I just told her that was what I DID NOT want (fans blowing and all). I wanted me and that was the product I received!! Personally I'm turned off by the overly photoshopped not a single wrinkle, blemish etc. I told her that and she is an artist-truly, at decision making in that regard ( but she did have a great canvas to work from ha ha ha!!!). Studio B, and Brooke, the photographer/owner, is fabulous! My sister first had her pictures taken by Brooke for her senior photos. I was so jealous when I saw them because I had gone with Vakker for mine. Mine were nice, generic, I still see pictures almost identical to mine to this day. My sisters had personality, and were just gorgeous. A year or so later my family came in to take some pictures for memory, and we had the best experience with Brooke. She was so friendly, and you could tell that she really cared about the photos, and making sure that they were what you wanted. We ended up with beautiful photographs that hang on our wall. Our mom had decided not to come to the session, but after seeing the pictures and how beautiful they turned out she instantly regretted it (compared to our generic photo sessions we've had before, with pictures that end up at the bottom of a drawer two years later). Wow! My photos came out so great -- Brooke is really wonderful at what she does. I showed up with a gallery of images that I wanted to emulate, as well as examples of what I didn't like. the entire family showed up to surprise my husband's mom and grandmothers for new years, and in less than 24 hours (on new years day no less), brooke n staff were able to schedule a sitting session in a day or two. they gave us great tips to prepare for the shoot and didn't bat an eyelash when another relative showed up (he was the grand finale appearance). after booking the session, i found out that 3 of the 7 family members hated getting their pictures taken, so i was doubly impressed that brooke was able to make them feel comfortable enough to relax and laugh a lot during the session. it wasn't a chore or a forced, mechanical process. it was a great experience overall. i did not handle the financial arrangements, so i can't tell you much. you get to view thumbnails of the final selected shots (the mom and grandmothers chose about 25-30 final shots from prob. over 200-300!) on an online gallery. brooke worked it out so that us out of town visitors could see the pictures. the pictures and slideshow (that might be something extra the mom got) are easily linkable to facebook and rss feeds, so you can still share them with others. The pictures themselves can be pricey (99 for an 8X10), but perhaps thats the going rate. (i dunno, i dont get amazing portraits of myself done everyday...) i never worried about brooke's skills as a photographer, but she certainly surpassed my expectations. she was able to capture almost every aspect of my husbands smile (how much more epic could that be? and the answer is none. none more epic.) and the slient grace of the grandmothers. sadly, one of our grandmother's suddenly passed away this week, and while we are dealing with our loss, we are very grateful we had the opportunity to visit Studio B and capture such a great moment when we were together and remember nana in such a great way. read more

I was referred here by several friends that have used Studio B for both Family portraits and linkedin head shots. Brook and the studio B team is incredible. They make everyone look amazing!
