Had an amazing experience at Bar Taco! Brad was incredible--friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Everything exceeded my expectations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service, great atmosphere, and great food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed it so much that I'll be coming back tomorrow. Highly recommend!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Recently enjoyed outdoor dining at this establishment and had such a lovely experience unlike a lot of the reviews here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Some of the standouts for us included the pork belly tacos, and the churros. Very easy, ordering process and delicious food. My only wish is that the portions were larger. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was friendly and food was tasty so I'll definitely be back this summer to continue enjoying the lovely outdoor space and food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Pistachio cauliflower taco and chili lime shrimp taco with an agua Fresca in the back
    Kat Y.

The food was excellent. I had the chips with verde, Roja, and guacamole. I had the cauliflower taco which was delightful, the chili lime shrimp was a bit overcooked, the shrimp was chewy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was traveling for work, so I sat by myself at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I noticed the bartender asked me for a card to open my tab, but he did not ask the other patrons. I thought that was a bit odd. The bartender was definitely very busy and could have used a bit more help. Overall, it was a good experience, I will be back when I travel for work.

    Delicious cocktail.

Was visiting Stamford and stopped by for a drink while waiting for some friends. The cocktail was great, [[HIGHLIGHT]]service and location of the restaurant are excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Didn't try their food at this location but it's usually delicious.

Dishes are hit or miss. Some things well-seasoned and others - like their Asian fusion attempts - are not great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Honestly the hype of the place always works against bartaco in my opinion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It didn't help that service was inconsistent. They tell you about their put up the card system for service but then don't actually follow it. Takes a while to get someone's attention and get a drink. Maybe will give bartaco a try again but not anytime soon.

I tried the lobster street corn (seasonal) pretty good, ceviche was spicy for me, guac was good. Also tried the Oaxaca cheese sticks and they tasted like mozz cheese sticks so they were just ok. Overall good Mexican food with authentic spices. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I visited on a Saturday evening and like most restaurants on summer street music was kind of loud but good ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Guava margarita and lime margarita

We came on a Friday night and were told it was a 20 min wait for a table, which was no problem. Unfortunately, it took over an hour for a table to open up. Luckily, we got some seats at the bar in the meantime when they cleared up. The drinks were flavorful and had a kick. I loved the guava margarita. We ordered our food as soon as we got a table and waited about 10 minutes for the apps to come out and a half hour for main courses to come out. The vibe is loud and trendy.

Came here for dinner and had a pleasant experience. You order via QR code rather through a waiter which I thought was interesting. I would recommend 3-4 tacos per person as you probably can get 2-3 bites out of each taco. The food itself was decent with some good flavors. A little light on the meat though. The service was overall decent. The only qualm I had was I didn't get one of the tacos I ordered and asked for a refill on chips and it took forever to get despite asking multiple times (the place wasn't that busy). The place is nice and modern with decent amount of seating. Other than that, it was positive. Would return.

Been here a few times and had delivery to my job in Stamford hospital over the past few years. Most recently came with some coworkers for drinks after work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm happy the construction is finally over and the strip outside for outside dinning looks great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place never disappoints.

Tacos : Shrimp, chicken, pork belly, & spiced chicken.
    Tiffany R.

The food was full of flavor, and the service was great. The only surprise was the appetizer portion--it was much smaller than expected, even smaller than a typical kid's side. Had we known, we probably would've just gone with the tacos. [[HIGHLIGHT]]That said, the ambiance was fantastic[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place filled up quickly, which speaks to its popularity![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Awesome spot for happy hour and late night happy hour in Stamford. Drinks are made with fresh squeezed juice and there are a lot of small bite options. The staff especially David provide the best hospitality.

Man if you want a place to kick back and let your hair down and good vibes this is it! Great food small portions but worth your time. It's my new nightlife eatery. The DJ was pumping great music and such a great diversity of sounds that everyone vibes to!

This place never disappoints. I wish I had one in my town. I always have the Chorizo and pork belly tacos. The pork belly had such a beautiful crisp. The chorizo was juicy and flavorful. I also had a nice mojito, Mexican corn and pineapple. It was a girl's perfect night

Hey Annie unfortunately we do not have a happy hour at the moment. We do have margarita March going as we speak where we feature a different margarita each week during the entire month of march. One of my favorites started today, the verde cooler :))

Popular menu items include birria tacos, octopus, shrimp ceviche, and steak chimichurri. My daughter and I visited here for her birthday, and we both love Latin cuisine. As we walked in, we were greeted warmly and shown to our seats immediately. It was a chilly day, and the restaurant felt cold inside as well. The staff tried to warm things up with space heaters, but they didn't quite do the trick. We ordered empanadas, birria tacos, hanger steak, and sweet plantains with crema and queso fresco. When the dishes arrived, they were lukewarm--a bit disappointing, considering how cold it was outside. The birria tacos were delicious, though again, they could have been hotter. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, but I would have liked it a bit crisper. The hanger steak was tender, and the Pico de Gallo was bursting with flavor, pairing perfectly with the steak. It was nicely seasoned and had a good-sized portion. The empanadas were tasty, with flavorful and plentiful meat. The plantains were extremely delicious. The crema and queso fresco helped bring the whole dish together beautifully. The customer service was friendly, but the food could have been hotter; still, the flavors and seasonings were spot-on.

For my 100th review, I wanted to pick something special for me. Though it was my first time visiting this place, I knew about from them following me on Instagram. Once combined with the Yelp rating and location, I knew I had been wanting to give these guys a visit. And so, Alma Bistro becomes my 100th review! Because I was on my lonesome, I was able to just take a seat at the bar, something I have always come to appreciate as an adult. I actually had 3 different people tending to me: 2 waitresses and 1 waiter. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. I had actually asked about the "pp" by one of the menu items, and truth be told, they are talking about "per person" here! Helpful and great at their jobs! In fact, when I was ordering my food, one of my waitresses gave a special mention to another appetizer, those being the tuna tostada. It's not something I normally eat, but I figured why not! Trusting the employees can sometimes lead you to finding new favorites, and it shows that they really put their thought out when dealing with customer service. It doesn't look like much outside, but it's actually a different story inside! Plants help bring it even more life here, you get that casual feel when eating out, and even the bathrooms are clean! It's definitely a spacious place once you're inside. I did the full course here, which came out to $95.54 before leaving a $20.25 tip. The total therefore was $115.79. Definitely more of a treat than a place to come to every day, but I like it like that for reasons you'll soon find out. So for my appetizers, I had the aforementioned tuna tostada as well as the birria tacos. Those birria tacos are to DIE for! Came out hot, juicy, and just truly divine. The consume was flavorful and seasoned perfectly! Don't skip on these! As for the tostadas, they wouldn't be something I'd normally choose, but WOW was I impressed! These were tasty sons of guns, garnished with a plantain chips and give a spicy kick thanks impart to the jalapeños that garnish the plate. The presentation was superb too! For my entree, I almost went with the $35 Argentinian dish, but my instincts told me I HAD to try the Steak Chimichurri. I must say, that steak is without question one of the best steaks I'd ever had! I had mine medium-well, and it was juicy, seasoned perfectly, great crust that compliments the steak, you name it! It was absolutely HEAVEN on a wooden plate! You're given the yucca frites to go along with it, and these were good as well. The fries were the weakest part, but they were still good with that light, airy goodness. You just need that dipping sauce to elevate it and you're golden. For dessert, the gluten-free chocolate mousse cake! Actually, one of my waitresses Laura had to ask her manager if they were available to order, and luckily they were. You're given a tall slice of a chocolate layered cake with a strawberry drizzle on top and another case of great presentation! This slice slayed and was the perfect thing to end of this dinner. I also got their special menu Tropical Mule, and you have this pineapple garnish, kind of like the limes you might get in a Corona. The cup you get it in keeps the drink cold by not melting the ice quite so fast. Another case where it was worth every penny and then some. I love a good tropical drink and this one tasted great! Sweet enough to be tropical, but not overly sweet to where it can be off putting. Of course Alma is getting a 5! This was the perfect spot for me to take on my 100th review, and I hope you all have enjoyed your journeys on Yelp as much as I have so far. Many more great Yelp moments to come!
