The Service: Service here was good. I've always found this location to be just a little slower for some reason, even when I've put in online orders for a certain time. But other than that, staff was friendly and not much to complain about besides service speed. The Atmosphere: Nice big space with plenty of seating. It has a long bar to sit at with TV's spanned across to watch any sports games if you'd like. Nice decor all around. Overall, a 5/5. Definitely coming back again and highly recommend any Taco Bamba location.

Two of us ordered two tacos each at the same time. One got his on a tray, I got mine in a little cardboard holder. Maybe they have a limited number of trays? The staff truly goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and taken care of. Even without a reservation, we were accommodated with ease. The hostess offered us a table, but we opted for the bar instead. Our bartender, Denisse, was an absolute gem. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended some fantastic cocktails and dishes that we simply couldn't resist. We started with the passionfruit mezcalita, which was so refreshing that we ordered multiple rounds. And then, we dove into the menu. I decided to try a variety of tacos, and let me tell you - they did not disappoint. The roasted duck taco had a wonderful tamarind glaze and caramelized onions that added the perfect touch of sweetness. The pork belly taco was spicy and flavorful, and the crispy oyster taco was crunchy and delicious. The Baja fish taco, with its spicy tempura-battered cod and chipotle slaw, was an absolute standout. The carne asada and chicken verde were both excellent -- flavorful, fresh, and satisfying without feeling heavy. The shrimp taco just wasn't my personal favorite, but what stood out was how the team handled it. My server, Maria, took great care of me and was attentive without hovering. When I mentioned the shrimp taco wasn't quite for me, the manager graciously comped it and swapped it out for another carne asada taco, which was a generous and thoughtful gesture. They were able to explain the items on the menu for specific allergy requirements. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the food and drinks were amazing and flavorful. I ordered the baja fish tacos, which were crispy and spicy, and the seared chorizo tacos, which were savory and smoky. The tortillas were fresh and soft, and the toppings were fresh and colorful. I also enjoyed the bartaco margarita, which was refreshing and tangy. The tacos were small, but boy are they worth it. I ordered one of each just to try them all. The only thing I loved more than the food and drinks was the ambiance. The place was decorated with a beachy theme, with bright colors, wooden furniture, and tropical plants. Went here for the first time with my wife and we were really impressed! Very nice and laid back decor, open bar, patio that can open up to the inside, and tasty foods. I also like the fact that they open late till midnight everyday and even later during Friday and Saturday. We tried their tacos (pork belly, baja fish, fried oyster, duck, curry shrimp, sesame ribeye, wild boar, mushroom) and they were all delicious! My favorite was the pork belly, wild boar, and the mushroom. While my wife really liked the duck and curry shrimp. All had their own distinct tastes and sauce which makes them unique. The taco is on the smaller size (fist size) and the servers does let customers know that before hand. We also tried the mahi mahi ceviche which was also delicious. The rice bowl with duck and another with pork belly was also yummy. It came with brown rice and garnished with peppers and shallots. Coconut gelato was our dessert which was a good finish. Each taco is about $2.50-3.50, a bit pricey as it adds up fast. Rice bowl was $8 each. But pretty good foods and enjoyable atmosphere for what it is. Will definitely be back. read more

I recently visited Bartaco in Reston Town Center with a coworker for happy hour, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. Everything was fine at first, but issues began when we asked for sour cream with our tacos. My taco arrived quickly, but it took multiple requests and nearly 10 minutes for the sour cream to come. The bartender didn't apologize or acknowledge the delay, and her attitude was quite unprofessional. When it was time to close out, we asked to split the tab. Instead of splitting it, the bartender closed my card for the entire amount without confirming how I wanted to handle it. I specifically asked her if the charge had already gone through, and she told me no, even though I knew it had. This led to her taking both of our cards and double charging my card, resulting in nearly $70 in extra charges. When I contacted the manager, he was unhelpful and told me I'd have to resolve the issue with my bank. As someone with over a decade of bartending experience, I'm usually very generous with tips, but this service was unacceptable. I won't be returning and hope they improve in the future. read more

This place has just really gone downhill. I have not been here since before the pandemic. Apparently, they have switched everything over to scan a QR code. You no longer fill out a cute little card with your order. I went here with a group of coworkers. And, it was terrible. Just embarrassing. At the beginning of the night, they asked who would be paying for the meal. Right off the bat, that is such a rude thing to ask.The partner at my firm sheepishly raised his hand. He was informed that he would have to scan a QR code and that everyone with him would have to scan a QR code on his phone. Then, throughout the rest of the evening, they just kept bringing orders of tacos and things and shouting out what the orders were. They never took the time to look at who had submitted the order. I got carded twice. I am 42. There's no nuance left here. There's no subtlety. Everything felt extraordinarily transactional. This has gone from a cute place to a Mexican-themed sports bar with expensive drinks. Maybe just screw this one location. I can't imagine all bartacos are this bad. read more

The interior and decor were tastefully done--stylish yet comfortable. The menu was simple and easy to navigate. We tried the cauliflower taco, shrimp taco, guacamole, salsa verde with chips, kimchi, and cazuela. The cauliflower taco was a bit undercooked and could have used more time or seasoning. In contrast, the shrimp taco was a standout--well-seasoned and absolutely delicious. The kimchi had a mild spice with a dry, tangy flavor that worked well as a side. I would give 5 stars for excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The indoor and outdoor are both absolutely lovely!!! Very high quality. The main problem here prices are exorbitant. And to add insult to injury the portions are small in many cases. And there are gotchas, as there are some items and add-ons for which prices are not shown on the menu and they are unpleasant surprises. So the main problem with this place is the value proposition. Even for Happy Hour it's pricey when you consider how the tacos themselves are tiny. Now I understand that quality costs money but they are kinda pushing it when you get high prices combined with skimpy portions. Great place if you have a lot of moolah. read more

First time visit for me, while accompanied by a friend who ok had RAVED about her visit previously. We arrived at 5:15 on Saturday and were seated by 5:19. Immediately upon seating, were greeted by our Waiter Chance. He was friendly in a genuine way, while educating me on the menu. We had the guacamole/roja/Verde trio which was awesome. I am a fan of tamales and the pork tamale, was authentic and delicious. I tried a couple of different tacos and honestly they all were my favorites. We finished with the churros and chocolate sauce and felt like we went to heaven. If I could give 10 stars I would, because Chance our waiter and the food deserve more than 5! I came back to Bartaco again and had another great experience. We were welcomed by two really sweet ladies at the front. They let us know there would be a bit of a wait, but honestly it felt like we were called up pretty quickly. Our server, Eleina, was amazing. She knew the menu really well and answered all of our questions without hesitation. We had quite a few, and she was incredibly sweet and patient the whole time. The food was fantastic and the drinks were delicious as always. I tried the duck tacos for the first time, I'm still deciding how I feel about them. Everything else was spot on. My family and I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! We are seated quickly, the drinks are amazing and the food delicious! Very Baja Mexican and super fresh! The best part is the service though! Bianca has waited on us numerous times and she is fantastic! She remembered our little 3 yr olds name, Maddie, after our first visit. Even though she is always very busy, she talks with Maddie and gives her a ton of attention. Having a 3 yr old sometimes it's difficult to find places that are kid friendly, this place is for sure! Very nice experience overall. Their servers are always attentive and the hostesses are extremely welcoming. The food is always made with flying colors, and I am yet to have an order messed up. Staff always make the time there enjoyable! Very happening place, you can always just feel the upbeat and preppy energy there. Food is good. Service is pitiful. Three times in a row we have ordered with their app, and there were multiple items missing. Beyond the fact they never get the food done on time, it sucks when you get home and realize they forgot something. The last time was inexcusable. As I mentioned this to the young lady at the pickup area she said, and I quote, "I guarantee everything is in there as I packed it myself." I'm extremely disappointed with our recent experience. We were told by the waitress that the wait time for a table would be only 20 to 25 minutes. However, we ended up waiting for an hour with no updates or explanation. After standing around for that long, we finally decided to leave. This restaurant used to be my favorite place to dine, which makes this experience even more upsetting. Unfortunately, after this visit, I don't think I'll be coming back. This is my favorite restaurant in Reston Town Center! There's always a fun vibe to it, friendly and inviting staff, food is flavorful and consistent in quality. We were there with a large party, the staff was friendly and quick in seating us. The interior design of Bar Taco adds that extra-extra-feeling to your experience! Delicious. Always good service the four times I've been. Amazing cocktails, amazing guacamole and large tortilla chips. Pork belly tacos are my favorite. I'd recommend trying one of each your first time and hope you like at least one, and you can get 2-3, they're small but they'll fill you up. Interesting ordering style, too- you use order cards and then place it on a raised paper holder to signal to any waiter that you need assistance. Literally any waiter comes up and helps. Visiting Reston this week. I always try and find interesting places to eat. Bartaco got amazing reviews on Yelp so I thought I would check it out. I love tapas style dinner especially when traveling by myself. The first time I went in for dinner I ordered to go and they accidentally forgot part of my order. I called them later that night and they told me to come back in soon and they would make it up to me. The management at Bartaco is awesome! This place has great tasting food, their tacos are unique and delicious, their baja fish, mahi mahi, steak, duck, oyster tacos are to die for. I think that their ordering system is a little weird and to be honest at times annoying, you have to write it out on a piece of cardoard paper, and its one piece of paper per table.. Can't they just order it through an ipad or iphone? this place would benefit from it. overall decent service, fantasitc food, and great atmosphere. oh their guacamole is not too shabby. I spend a lot of time in Reston, this is one of my favorite restaurants. This is always my family's choice. You can not go wrong here. I have tried just about everything on the menu and each experience was a culinary home run. My favorite taco was a summer secret taco, the lobster taco....i cant wait for summer to return. I usually always place it for pick up.. Luckily they just started making them so I was able to order them easily. SO DELICIOUS!!! I decided to have "chicken adobo" only to be told by the woman who greeted us that they were out of the chicken they used to make the dish. So...I ordered beef fajitas. They come with tortillas, rice, refried beans, a minuscule amount of cheese, and a few veggies. The fajitas weren't that good. The meat was tough (I know, no one expects expensive fajitas), and some pieces were scorched. To drink, I was pleased to see they had some mocktails. I chose a "ginger mojito" mocktail. It was a refreshing drink. My husband ordered "enchiladas suiza," which came with rice and refried beans. Apparently, they have live music later in the evenings. They have a stage and an area that can be used as a dance floor. Overall, we weren't impressed. The food is passable. The best part of the meal was the woman who took good care of us. So...2 1/2 stars.

I'll certainly be back if I'm in the area to try the other menu items. This place is located off the lobby of an office building. I'm sure it's a popular lunch stop for the local work crowd and probably does a good take-out business with the condos across the street. It was empty at 5pm on a Saturday.

What a nice surprise... the Yelp was legit regarding service and the amazing authentic food. I went in, ordered, and all went well. And so I tried for the first time, the Birria Tacos that also came with sides... bean and rice. I also ordered a side of fries and they were fresh and crisp to a perfection. I recommend... totally! And will be back, thanks for the welcoming and warm experience on this cold snowy day. Restaurant very clean as well.

Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. We were served chips and salsa while waiting for the food. When we asked for more chips, the waiter brought another basket but completely ignored the fact that the salsa was nearly gone as well -- despite placing the chips directly next to the empty container. Small details like that reflect a lack of attentiveness and basic customer awareness. The bigger issue came when the food arrived. Three separate orders were incorrect, and not minor mistakes either. Considering how empty the restaurant was, this was especially frustrating. When we pointed out the mistakes, the dishes were taken back, but they returned suspiciously fast and appeared to have simply been altered rather than remade properly. For example, sauces and toppings that were incorrectly added seemed hastily scraped off instead of the meals being freshly prepared. That is not how order corrections should be handled, especially when food allergies or dietary restrictions could potentially be involved. I understand service standards have declined in many places over the last several years, but this experience was genuinely far below expectations. Between the inattentive service, multiple incorrect orders, and poor handling of corrections, the entire dinner felt rushed and careless.

Note - the restaurant doesn't take online or phone reservations for parties under 10, but I didn't wait long (10 min) for a party of 5 for Saturday lunch at 1pm (3 of 5 had to be there). Excited to come back to satisfy my cravings for the Paneer Enchiladas and Paneer Kathi Roll and Guava Margarita on happy hour!
