Fantastic. This goes in the "Want to go back" collection. Friday night and it was busy. But everyone was hustling. Waitress (Kim) was great, on top of everything even though she was really busy. Drinks came out quick and were a full 20 OZ pour! Owner was on the floor bussing tables and delivering drinks. He stopped to talk and was super nice. I got the Irish Spice bag and wifey got the Irish Cheeseburger. Both were GREAT. I've been wanting to try an Irish Spice bag for a while and this didn't disappoint. Everything was fresh and crispy. The onions and peppers added a nice kick and the curry sauce was spicy and sweet. The smash burgers in the Irish burger were great. Crispy edges and the cheese was really flavorful. Fries were pub style with some battery coating. Everything was really good and we got a piece of Guinness chocolate cake to go. It's on a golf course, nice on the inside, but loud on a Friday night. It took me way to long to stop in here and experience some authentic Irish food and drinks... located on Main st in Webster, we parked down the street in a community parking lot. Walking in to Barry's was just like being in Ireland..... from the small bar and cute little table areas.. Jessica and Danny make you feel so welcomed and inviting. We immediately sat right at the bar and had a ice cold Harp draft... mmmmm Once more friends arrived we switched to a high table and ordered some food. Had to try their fish n chips, magnets Irish cider batter cod. Perfectly cooked with such crispy outside and so tender inside. The chips... unbelievable, best around! Also tried a few bites of their shepherds pie, so well done. But the best part was the dessert...omg Guinness cupcakes with baileys icing. What a neat little gem in Webster this place is! Just as I think the owners had envisioned, Barry's is a true Irish pub that makes you feel like you're right in the heart of the Emerald Isle. It's family-owned and operated with so many homemade menu items. Their beer, cider and spirits selection is extensive and - most importantly to me - thoughtfully Irish (with enough other selections to suit any taste). The Barrys and the other members of their staff are so genuinely friendly. Any time I've ever been here, there has been a big and busy crowd, but these guys run a smooth operation and wear a smile in spite of the well-controlled chaos. They seem to genuinely enjoy people and that, to me, is the hallmark of a great business (and authentic pub). There's always something cool happening: live music, trivia, running club, summer Irish festival at the family farm, you name it. Seating is quite limited when the patio is closed, so be prepared to hang by the wall with your drink just in case. Kitchen closes at 9pm (as of this review) so don't be like me and keep showing up late when you're hungry. :) The food is absolutely worth getting there on time for! Stayed in Webster for a singing convention this weekend. We were at the Holiday Inn Express 1 Exit away. We were hungry and googled pubs. This came up first. We said let's do it. We arrived on a Friday evening. It was a great time inside, and as I saw the food come out, I couldn't believe it. It was top notch. The group of us ordered the Shepards Pie, Reuben, and Pretzels. Then we saw the fish and chips. We felt like we messed up, but all our dishes were delicious. The Irish band that was playing made it even better. We came back the next day for the Fish and Chips. AMAZING. The special surprise was the group of people just sitting in the corner jamming out and singing. This is hands down the best Irish Food I have ever had with an amazing environment inside. read more

Cozy atmosphere, personable staff and everyone seemed to be related or old friends which is the type of company I want to be around! Trivia was movie themed and really well done! Although we got ZERO answers correct, we DID win the prize for the best doodle! We left with two tee shirts and a pack of Murphy stout! We had Moscow mules with vodka (best muels we've had in a while) and some chippers and curry! A huge portion that is more than enough for two people, we couldn't even finish it. Stopped here for lunch. Beautiful day to sit outside. You order at the bar. Bartender was a complete dick. Very rude about what he had for drinks. Said we have Irish beer. I asked for iced tea and he laughed. They do have wine. Got a Riesling and my husband got a Guinness. Ordered our food. Took over 45 minutes for a fish fry and a chicken panini. Food was very good. He brought out the food in to go containers and all drinks are in disposable cups. Would have rated better because the food was very good but the service was down right rude and not acceptable. He should be happy he has customers in this mess we are In with Covid. read more

Wish we had more time...one beer just wasn't enough...is it ever? Imperial Pints for all drafts with all the Irish beers you'd expect (Guinness, Smithwick's, Harp and Murphy's) and even a couple others (Kilkenny's). Upon entering, my friend and I were a bit confused with how the whole seating/ ordering process worked so we wandered around for a bit before someone noticed we looked like lost puppies. Apparently you order at the counter and take a seat and they bring the food to you. The menu is pretty limited. I got the Guinness BBQ chicken sandwich and my friend got the Shepherd's Pie. Both were delicious. Didn't really taste any Guinness in the sauce but it was still yummy! The beer selection is good! We both got a bottle of Hard Pear Cider. Very good! Lighter than Hard Apple Cider. We ate lunch outside on the patio. It was really nice! A bit loud at times due to being at the intersection. Inside seating is limited. Price-wise, Barry's is probably average. Spent $28 for 2 lunches and 2 drinks. Highly recommend! read more

I have been here several times and the place overall is great. Whether the owners take care of you, their family or their employee everyone is super friendly. They have a variety of drinks (wine, beer, cider, liquor) but their specialty is Irish so while you can get a couple local beers that's not their focus. The food is great, I love their shepherds pie and wish my homemade version came out like theirs. Their pretzels are good as are their burgers and the chicken salad sandwich. I order takeout recently and got their Irish burger and it was delicious, I had been craving a thick juicy burger with a unique flare (not just lettuce, tomato, ketchup and pickle) and theirs hit the spot. I gave it one more shot this week and sat at the bar where I was routinely ignored for 5-10 minutes at a time while the bartenders paid more attention to the people just walking up to the bar than they did those of us that were waiting with empty glasses and wanting to order food. Made a quick stop here with a group of friends. The Pub was one of ten destinations on our impromptu "Unique Garbage Plate Tour", where we ordered one unique plate and shared it before moving onto the next stop. Barry's was unique in creation as the traditional meat sauce was swapped with their Sheppard's Pie! A few of my friends enjoyed this one so much, they might have actually fought for the last bite! For me, it wasn't the plate that would have placed this in my top place on our tour, but it was absolutely that for the atmosphere, and hospitality. Every Saturday, we learned, the Pub has live music. While enjoying your meal or afternoon drink, you also have the ability to enjoy a jam session of some pretty awesome Irish instrumentals. Although from the outside we hesitated to head in due to the packed crowd, once we settled in, the crowd was not overwhelming at all. I am personally still trying to figure out how this is even possible, but it is true. There's more! The very kind bar tender asked to take a group shot of us, being intrigued by the story. I can't think of a better way to spend a dreary November Saturday afternoon. ***Update*** Almost three years on and I still think of Barry's as my second living room. The music is in full swing and I'm settling in to my second pint while kids do arts and crafts and eat shamrock cookies as part of the "kid's St. Patrick's Day" celebration. Barry's has been voted one of the best Irish pubs in the USA. And, although the macaroni and cheese is the best I've ever eaten, and the Guinness is the best you can get in Rochester, the thing that sets Barry's apart is the sense of community that is fostered here. Barry's has really come into its own since I first reviewed it about a year and a half ago. It's now a cornerstone of the village of Webster and its customer base is a group of die-hard regulars. Its husband-wife owners are still tireless workers on the scene there, and I have to say that there's something really nice about seeing one of them there every single time I go in. It's a true testament to how much work it takes to make a place succeed. And succeed it has. Wonderful Guinness, an impressive selection (currently the best in Rochester I think) of whiskeys, wholesome home-cooked food, absolutely delicious Guinness chocolate cake and regular traditional Irish music are all reasons that this place excels. However, its strongest point is that it's friendly. If you go, you'll feel welcomed and like you've suddenly become "part of the gang." The close quarters mean that you'll surely make new friends, as we have done on multiple occasions. The crowd here is fun-loving but never exclusive and most of them are in their 30s-50s. Holding its own as a phenomenal addition to the east side of Rochester and building a nice community at the same time, I know I'm always in for a delicious Guinness, some good laughs, and a nostalgic trip across the Atlantic to the Emerald Isle whenever I go. We stopped in at Barry's last Saturday afternoon. It was a rainy day and we were waiting to get into a movie at AMC but that's another story entirely! The sign at the front says something to the effect of, "come in a stranger, leave as a friend" and I have to say that is totally the feeling we had. They really must take that statement to heart because they really went out of their way to make it a reality for us. One of the owners was working the bar and was all too happy to share their story with us. It's owned by a young family and we could see his excitement and passion for the business as he told us about their history. We had beer, whiskey, and food while we past the rainy afternoon. The place is cozy and feels very welcoming. We were addressed immediately upon entering. They have a decent selection of beer and nice selection of whiskey. We know nothing about whiskey but were interested in tasting, so Dan (the owner) was kind enough to give us some choices. He described them while also letting us know the price of each which was nice. I've been elsewhere and done bartender's choice tastings and then choked on my own spit when the bill arrived. It was nice to know up front what we were getting ourselves into. Their food menu is small but has enough variety to accommodate just about anyone. We had the hot pretzel appetizer which was good, I had the panini, my friends had the Sheep dog and the Shepard's pie. All the food was good. We were happy to be offered a field greens salad as a side at no additional cost. Although, the one meal that did not come with a side was the Shepard's pie. I'm not sure why not but my friend was a bit disappointed about that. There were other items on the menu that I definitely want to go back and try. They also have a nice patio with outside seating so we'll be back. In short, you need to try this place! It's nice to support a hard working family owned establishment. It feels like no matter where you go in the world you can find an Irish Pub. It turns out that Webster, New York is no exception. I stopped in for dinner on a warm day and was impressed. It is a small place but well appointed with the usual Irish flare, I was particularly impressed by the large selection of books about Ireland which is welcome for somebody dining on their own. Myself and a group of friends got together in did a self made Unique Garbage Plate Tour, this was one of our stops. If we had to come to a consensus, this would be the overall favorite. Let's start with the plate. It was AMAZING; flavorful, cooked well and a perfect balance between all of the ingredients. We ate 10 plates in total that day and questioned going back to Barry's for another plate at the end. I could stop there and they would still be deserving of the 5 stars, but I won't. The bar was packed and my large group didn't do it any favors. In a situation like that, I would expect that service would have suffered, but surprisingly it didn't. The service was fast, extremely friendly and as close to flawless as you can get. Again, I could stop there... but there was the music. They had what I can best describe as an Irish jam session and it really just brought the whole thing together. The music was joyful, the right noise level and added a special touch. First time there: Small bar with a convenient outdoor sitting area. Inside has tables and clean bathrooms!!! Good beer and whiskey selection. The owners and staff were pleasant. I ordered the pretzels with beer cheese, very good! Didn't give more stars because the chairs outside need to be replaced. The benches were good. The single chairs were not very comfortable and kind of tattered. I also felt like the same song kept playing multiple times. Overall, I think this is a good place to stop for some Irish Whiskey and or brew! read more
