Came here for really late lunch because it smelled good outside. We got the paella which was a large plate for only $10. It comes with choices of chicken chorizo and veggies. We picked chorizo and it was delicious. The food came out super fast and the service was very friendly. Great place to come for lunch for fast, inexpensive, flavorful food. Would definitely return! Parking is street parking around the block and this place might be a little difficult to find because it's hidden in the alley behind Tiger+Lily. Worth the find! read more

Tucked back in the alley, you may not notice the place, but you'll definitely want to stop in! Best empanadas I've ever had. I tried a beef and cheese and a chicken and cheese. These empanadas were stuffed full on the inside and crispy on the outside. Also tried the plantain appetizer, which was wonderfully tasty. For dessert we shared churros. These came as a generous, piping hot portion, with a crispy outside and soft inside. Only wish they came with more dipping sauce. We ate outside on their porch, which was perfect. My wife and I recently returned from Argentina and were keen on trying out Barroluco restaurant. We went on its second day for dinner. My wife had the tostada and I had a paella with chicken. We also had a beef empanada. The food was very good. The paella was a big portion with beautifully seasoned rice. The empanada was crispy on outside, juicy on the inside. After the food was served we asked for chimichurri sauce and were given two small cups of chimichurri. As it was the second night the kinks were still being worked out on the service side. On the food front I would like more chimichurri sauce, especially as it's such a key component of Argentine food. I hope they introduce unique Argentine specialties over time from some of the regions like Patagonia. A great place to try! read more

We visited this spot for the first time, looking for a late lunch after the Pearl Market. The restaurant has outdoor seating on their cozy deck, but we needed to go, so ordered inside at the counter. We wanted to try different Argentinian style cuisine, so ordered sampler plates, which included empanadas (fried chicken-filled pastries), pork rib, paella (a rich spanish rice with peppers and pork), and a side of yumyum sauce and cilantro sauce (with a kick). Here's the deal, we don't live in Columbus but we stayed in a hotel nearby and stumbled across this place looking for a place to have a drink. The food here is AMAZING! We had the sampler platter and the empanadas (chicken and veggie) with a side of paella rice. I wanted to drink the spicy cilantro sauce and considered begging them to give me a jug to take home. Very delicious. I recommend the paella and the plantains for sure. I will be back even though it's a bit of a drive for me.

The food is top notch. You can taste the butter in the dough of the empanadas. The flavoring is perfect, makes the sauces completely unnecessary. Hate the sampler and it was a greatd eal at only $12! Barroluco is incredible. We ordered a variety of empanadas, multiple paellas, carne asada, and both plantains. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We ordered takeout, and even by the time the food was home the empanadas were still crispy and everything was delicious. I can't wait to spend a summer evening on the adorable front patio. Stopped in for lunch to check out Arepazo's replacement (as a huge Arepazo fan) ordered the paella. While it was good flavor, this is not paella! Try just calling it what it is.. spanish rice with some grilled veggies topped with chicken and chorizo. I didn't pick up any saffron and for me that's what defines paella, and justifies paying this $12 price tag for lunch. I remember when this building housed a dive bar and I haven't been here since. I met my boyfriend for lunch and wow I was impressed. The place was completely redone in the inside - comfy cozy and CLEAN. The menu was huge - offering an array of Argentina food. I got the sampler platter and I loved the Paella and the rib. I wasn't impressed with empada or the smothered frys but the boyfriend really liked the empada. He ordered a sandwich and a rib and loved both. The price was good too and the food was ready very quickly. We will be back as we are always looking for new places to meet for lunch downtown. Hats off to you read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! The atmosphere, food, owner and staff were all above and beyond amazing. My boyfriend and I went for restaurant week and had the chicken empanadas, spicy chimichurri ribs and rice, the Barroluco sandwich and fries, and the dulce de leche and chocolate churros. The food came out fast and was so fresh! As we were wrapping up the owner, Omar, engaged us in a refreshingly wonderful conversation about their history and his home town Mendoza. He even pointed out his father working in the kitchen! He offered us a sample of the chocolate martini cake and it is a must have item. The hospitality took our experience to a new level and we will definitely be going back. I recommend striking up a conversation with Omar, he is one of a kind! read more

The helpful prep times on the menu appeared to be completely false. Also, the tickets and meal prep/serving appeared completely random.
