Enter in the back alley to this cute little place in Columbus with amazing authentic food! Paella, empanadas, choripan, you name it! The staff are all super friendly and our to go orders came out quick! There's also a salsa club in the front of the building that I heard great things about!

Good food, bit pricey, but flavorful and tender food. Staff are friendly, and it's literally in an alley, it's great!

Delicious affordable food, I savored every bite of my paella. It was my first time trying Argentinian food and I was truly blown away. Extremely flavorful and I enjoyed trying the different sauces. It is a casual spot so food comes out pretty fast and we even got a free bottle a wine so you can't beat that! The cashier was nice and met every request, if I was ever back in the area I would definitely try again.

I tried Barroluco for the first time this week and holy moley, I will definitely be back soon. This place may be quaint and tucked away in a small corner of downtown Columbus, but their flavor is through the roof! I ordered the vegetarian paella with plantains, a cheese empanada, and two churros (because I was curious) and I ordered it all online through their website. It was really easy! I got it for pick up and was told it would be ready in 10-12 minutes, wowza! That was fast. I immediately hopped in my car and found my way there. I didn't end up parking, just threw my flashers on in the alley in front of the restaurant and ran in. They asked to see my confirmation email and then handed me my piping hot food. The ride home I was practically drooling from how good it smelled. Once I got home I dove right in. The paella was obviously the star of the show. Rice, beans, corn, sauteed peppers, and those plantains on top were amazing! It wasn't too spicy but backed a punch after every bite. I can't wait to order it again. And those sauces they gave you, both winners! My empanada was great and while the churros weren't my favorite, they were a fun treat. I highly recommend you give them a try.

We have been wanting to eat for for about a year, just haven't been able to make it since we eat late dinners and they close at 7. Finally got to go today. We both ordered the carne asada, note that the price is no longer $13 as listed on the 2020 menu, but $20. I found it okay and sort of gummy. I did like the empanada, plantains and rice.

How have I waited so long to review this place!? I LOVE it! I used to chase their food truck all over town and when they opened an actual building, I couldn't wait to try it out! This cute little spot is tucked away in the Pearl Alley area (where Arepazo used to be). There's not much in the way of parking but fortunately you can get here easily if you're downtown and it's just a few blocks from the Cbus. I have only been for lunch but I must say, it's one of the best lunches in town! They have so many great options but my absolute favorite is the paella. Every bite is savory and sensational! They have fair prices and the portions are perfect! They also have churros which are insanely good - I highly recommend the sampler platter if you're a first timer because you can try a little bit of everything. There's not a ton of seating inside so it might be difficult to eat here with a large group but you can also do takeout. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and I always have a great experience when I visit this place. Can't wait to go back again soon!

Starting off year 28 with delectable cuisine from Barroluco! I love Argentine food- particularly chimichurri and steak. So I was especially interested in trying this restaurant, which specializes in Argentine comfort food. Tucked away on N. Pearl Street it is easy to miss this location. However, the aroma from the restaurant makes up for that. The restaurant staff were also very kind. My carne asada with paella and fries tasted great! This is another restaurant that I plan to frequent.

We were strolling around and enjoying the Pearl Market when we came across a sandwich board menu for Barroluco, and then later discovered the cute little hole-in-the-wall down in the alley. It has a nice little deck area in front and another large menu sign boasting a lot of tasty sounding dishes, so we decided to order something to go while we finished up in the market. We opted for the choripan sandwiches with fries, which offered a choice of chicken or chorizo with lettuce and chimichurri. The food was very tasty, but, unfortunately the one ordered with chorizo came with chicken instead. It was still yummy, just not what we were hoping to try. Looks like we will have to go again sometime to try it!

I may rant a little bit here, but to sum up the review. (Spoiler Alert) GO TO THIS PLACE! I have been wanting to take my wife to this place ever since the weather has changed. I have been here before and remember it being good, but obviously my memory is terrible. This place is a MUST VISIT! The weather was gorgeous this past Saturday, 70's and sunny out in March...Are you kidding me?!? So my wife and I decided to spend the day taking photos and walking around downtown Columbus. I mentioned to her that I had a place in mind for lunch, but it was the definition of a hole in the wall. Small place tucked in an Alley of downtown Columbus. We walked in and the smells overwhelm in an amazing way. We weren't starving so we ended up ordering the Empanada+side platter and added an extra empanada. We went with the beef option and I would highly recommend it! As you can see by the picture they were cooked to perfection. The beef had so much flavor and I do not know why, but even though it said authentic on their sign, I was expecting ground beef. I was very happy that I was wrong! The empanada stayed crispy the entire meal. I am not even joking, but how it was prepared some how kept the crisp outer-shell for the entire time we sat on their porch. The rice was absolutely full of flavor as well. That beef and peppers inside the empanada shell....my goodness! It was so packed with flavor! The sauces weren't an after thought at all. The Holly Cilantro had a kick! I enjoy spicy food and warned my wife that it may be a little spicy for her. At first, it's similar to a light refreshing and bright sauce and then BOOM spice! I think it is absolutely amazing, but my (who generally likes spicy food and will eat Jalapeños thought it was a little much. She still put it on a couple of bites, but thought it was a little too spicy.) so if you fall in-between loving spicy food and liking a bit of spice. I would tread with caution, but at least try it! The other red sauce was good as well. Nothing amazing, but a solid sweet and cool addition to whatever you would prefer to add it to. Possibly one of my new favorite places!

Pleasantly surprised to walk up to this authentic Argentinian restaurant today. Even more surprised to find that the restaurant in the back is fronted by a bar in the front that has salsa classes and dancing every Friday night. We need this South American vibe in Columbus! As I tried the carne asada, I remembered sitting in a restaurant just like it in Buenos Aires a few years ago. From the crunch of the fries to the style of the patio, there was a bespoke international feel here that gave me inspiration to build more in Columbus. We don't need to travel all the time to find a slice of culture when it's right down the street -- and my girlfriend agreed. As a Venezuelan, recently to the USA three years ago, she's excited to join in for the Hispanic Heritage celebration tonight! I'm looking forward to learning more about the community that this restaurant has brought together.

Hidden in the alley between tiger Lilly and pub mahone, it's a gem of the city and look forward to stopping in whenever I can. I always get a sampler because it's easier than deciding, anything you get is going to be amazing!

Arrived approximately 3:30pm - restaurant basically empty (maybe 5 tables total occupied). Went to check in for 2 and the host said he had reservations at 5. Huh? So I asked do you mean you can't seat us until 5? And he said no, that we need to leave by then because other people are coming. I thought that was very weird and unprofessional. I've never had an experience like that before. It's a basic sit down place, why would you think we'd linger for more than an hour and a half? Whatever, weird feeling, but we were seated. Seated in the walkway. Not like in a path but literally blocking the walkway where you step down. Why do I say this? Because people walking by kept banging into me. Not their fault. Why is there a table there? And why were we seated there when at least 80% of the restaurant was empty???? Ok whatever. Ordered food including their signature made in-house tots. Waitress comes back and says they were slammed in the morning and they're out of tots. (Man I feel bad for the people coming at 5. LOL) whatever except the people at the next table appeared to be served tots. Food was tasteless. The Mac and cheese had a weird texture like the roux wasn't cooked properly. My patty melt was mostly bread as the patty was too small for the bread. My husband had the signature chimi burger and it completely lacked any chimichurri flavor. Like at all. We were out by 4ish (plenty of time for them to prepare for their expected onslaught) and needless to say I've unbookmarked this place from my yelp. Maybe we'll try the Mexican place across the street next time. ‍
