Stumbled across this little gem In Grandview and was excited to see they offer Cuban foods! I immediately zeroed in on the Ropa Viejo. Gerald was extremely knowledgeable about the food and offerings and shared that the owners mother's original recipes were used so I was excited to try the Ropa. The wait was short and He cooked the plaintains fresh. The meat was extremely tender and the sofritos flavors were genuine and reminded me of Florida where I last had Cuban food. The beans and rice were abundant and with the delicious seasoned meat I knew I had enough food for dinner And plenty of leftovers for probably another two meals!!! Think chipotle size bowl...without the skimpy portions lol. And I hope he gets to read this review!! Gerald they were amazing!! Perfect texture...fresh...and cooked to perfection! Not mushy and the flavor complimented the entire dish! If you have the opportunity to stop at Pablo's Havana Cafe in Grandview and you appreciate great Cuban food do NOT sleep on this gem!! Quality...authentic flavors...excellent customer service (thanks Gerald) and amazing value for the portions! I can't wait to go again!

Came by Monday with friends! Not sure if they take reservations but they weren't busy so we walked…read moreright in and got a table. To start, we got beers and margs. Not bad but nothing special. We also shared the shrimp ceviche. Good flavor but strange texture with the toasted nuts. The food seems like it's fusion as my friend and I both got chilaquiles but the chips were already broken apart and mixed with the meat. Still tasty but not what we expected. My other friend got the patacon, which basically looked like a salad. Far from the usual plantain fritters with toppings. Only one of my table mates ordered something that sounded like what was expected, the Ecuadorian churrasco: sirloin, eggs, fries, rice, and salad. For dessert, we got the flan and tres leches cake. There was a hair on the cake and they quickly gave us a new slice. Good but the flan could've been better. The cake was good though. Nothing was too sweet which was perfect. Overall the food was good but not as authentic as we had hoped. The service was also a bit slow. It was a slower evening but it took a while to get our drinks. Our server was really nice though. We ordered his recommendations. I'm not too familiar with parking around here but there were parallel spots in front. I parked in the garage at the back. Around $6 for two hours.

Another Cuban food truck. Good luck finding it. Great things inside if you do. We've checked their…read moreweb site and streetfoodfinder and can't locate them. The plantains are drop dead delicious. The Cubans are textbook and everyone in our group went crazy on the tamales. I know better. I held out for the Ropa Vieja. They tell me it's one of the national dishes of Cuba. Pulled stewed beef with various Cuban spices. It's served with Moro rice, which is basically white rice and black beans. They add a salad mix and it's a marvel. This is some of the better food truck fare we've had here in Ohio. We just can't get ahold of a schedule and it's been months now. Hoping and praying they still exist! 10/24

For me the Cuban sandwich is the star here with perfectly cooked braised pork and good quality ham. They actually use Cuban bread here for the sandwich which you don't see much of in Columbus. It's about as traditional as you can get. I've also tried the Ropa Vieja, which is another famous Cuban dish, and it was super tasty as well. It's beautifully seasoned shredded beef on top of Moro rice with a salad mix. You can't go wrong with this one. They also offer empanadas, tostones, and tamales among other things that are all made perfectly. If you see this truck around, or find it on StreetFoodFinder, you should definitely make it a point to stop in and give it a try.

We did verify it's the same place. Also, when you get here, it will look and feel that we whites have led you astray, but fear not! You are in the correct spot. (Next to a waxing place and in an upscale feeling outdoor shopping plaza - Easton 2.0?) They don't offer much more than sandwiches (despite the name) and sadly no homemade chips or plantains at this location- BUT - the sandwiches alone are WORTH IT. I'm 42 and have had the same list of top five sandwiches for the past twenty years until today. The chicharrón sandwich was *empingao* and is now solidly in my top five!!!!

It's a sandwich for god's sake. I ordered the chicharron sandwich which was delightful. Crispy edges on the bread, the juice from the pork and the pickled onion was a perfect marriage. The chunkiness of the pork was a bit dry and I desperately wanted more onions but it was all so good. The hot sauce was mild and added an elevated layer of heat but again, still very mild hot sauce. Lines felt long when you walked in while lunch is bustling but they are quick and efficient. I may have waited 4-5min and had my sandwich ready to go.
