    Pollo fundido
    Zaide A.

Service: my waiter is always friendly. He helps me each time and knows my exact order anytime I go regardless of how long it has been since I'd last been there. I've had other waiters and can say sometime they're slow and I find myself waiting to get another water for quite a time. Ambiance/atmosphere: it's loud inside, but as a bar type restaurant you can expect that. It is very nice and decorated inside with different Mexican culture themed items. You can watch essentially any sport inside and there's no shortage of screens. Food: I always get the chicken fundido and it is just delicious Everytime. I'm a rather large eater and get two and mix the plates. The beans are smooth and creamy, rice is perfectly cooked, chicken is juicy, and the shrimp is always cooked perfectly. I never have had any issue with fishy shrimp. The cheese sauce blanketed over is warm, gooey, and tastes very nice. All these mix to make a perfect and very satisfying meal. The patacon is very good and a safe start for anyone new into heavy Hispanic dishes. I'd recommend getting the steak, it matches perfectly with the madudos(sweet plantains). The cheese melted throughout is a typical match with madudo(sweet plantain) and is a great addition. The beans pair perfectly and the lettuce and tomato are fresh and keep the dish vibrant. Deep fried grilled burrito is my mom's favorite and she's never had a complaint. It's chewy with a really nice crisp to the shell and packed with fillings. The peppers and such inside are fresh and soft without being overcooked to mush. The chicken and overall dish is flavorful and the queso on top is delightful.

I think 3.5 is a more accurate rating for me. Perfectly decent experience. I'd give four stars for the pork belly! Tender but crispy on the edges and especially on the fatty rim. The guacamole was quite tasty but I'm still a little flummoxed by this particular combo. Came with tortilla chips but no salsa. Also no complimentary chips and salsa for the table...but our meals came out quickly. Fun points: Margaritas were delivered by a musical robot. I ordered the house lime and the Oaxaca one. Both tasted fine, like any standard margarita. They went down easy...and so did I! I settled into a long nap as soon as I got home! Tacos were fine--I got steak and barbacoa. They are expensive and we had to ask for limes and now I can't remember if there was cilantro. My friend got birria tacos but they didn't look to me to have been cooked in the consomme. Great service, festive interior. Food and drinks good enough. Check them out and see what you think!

3.5/5 Stars Fronteras Tacos, Tequila & Wine is a vibrant, high-energy spot with a big menu of crowd-pleasing Mexican-American favorites and plenty of table-side entertainment. If you're in the mood for colorful cocktails and a little spectacle, you'll probably enjoy the experience. The Vibe: Part sports bar, part celebration central. There are glowing neon lights, sparkler-topped drinks, and even a robot that rolls around just to deliver drink orders (not food). You press "finish" or "confirm" to send it back to the kitchen. Definitely not your average taco joint. I visited on a weekend evening, and the atmosphere was festive but not overwhelming--good for groups or casual birthdays. Food & Drinks Highlights (approximate prices): * Tacos ($4-5 each): Still the best bet here. Fresh toppings, soft tortillas, and consistently good. After branching out with the burrito and the carne en su jugo ($15.75--a hearty stew with steak, bacon, beans, nopales, and queso fresco), I'd say tacos and drinks are the safest and most satisfying option. * Birria Ramen ($13.50): Has potential and was good enough to say we tried it, but it didn't blow me away. * Queso Fundido with Shrimp & Chicken ($12.99): A solid "every time" go-to. We subbed chorizo for chicken, and it was still rich, melty, and great for sharing. * Pork Belly Guacamole (Market Price): Fun to try once, but after about one big piece, you'll probably want something to liven it up (hot sauce, tortillas, etc.). Tip: If you're craving pork belly guac but don't want the full bowl, order a pork belly taco (or a side) with a side of guac. You'll get smaller pieces and a more manageable portion for one or two people. * Burrito Plate (~$13-$15): Honestly a letdown. Lots of lettuce and bland rice that didn't redeem it. * Hot Sauce: Ask for their house hot sauce (a nice kick) or Valentina (always a reliable choice). * Spicy Mango Cocktail ($12): 5/5. I'm not a big drinker, but this one has me debating every time--not because it's not good (it is), but because $12 a glass adds up quickly. Still worth it. Service & Details: Friendly, attentive staff overall. A few things to note: menu prices reflect cash payments (there's a card surcharge), chips and salsa refills are not free, and the robot delivers only drinks. Overall: Fronteras is best when you keep it simple: tacos and drinks. That combination stands out above everything else. It's festive, a little over-the-top, and reliably good if you stick to what they do best. I'd recommend this place for a fun night out, especially if you want bright cocktails and solid tacos. Bring cash and maybe split a few things to keep it budget-friendly.

I wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is festive and the patio is very nice. The menu is HUGE and I swear I flipped through it 7 times. It took longer to figure out what we wanted to order than it did for the food to come out. The food was Tex-mex and average, at best. The margs are average but expensive for the size. There is a credit card fee as well. We will only only return if a group consensus takes us there.

Pros: Good location Large patio area Fast, friendly service Huge menu with lots of drink options Cons: Shrimp tacos had too much stuff and my palate was confused by all the flavors Super messy and not enough shrimp Pro tip: The plantain appetizer is a must have. Perfectly fried and loved the creama dip.

Loved the vibe. Ceiling lights are covered in Dia Dav Lis Muertois skulls. Lotsa TVs. Large bar that was actually very lively tonight. Chips and salsa were not complimentary and our server did not try to sell us. I ordered a Venezuelan meal suggested by our waiter Patacon. The dish was layers starting with fried plantains (a personal favorite!) Yltoped with cheese, black beans, protein of my choice, cilantro sauce and pico. I was tempted to ask for a hot sauce. Hubs ordered chicken nachos. Topped with black beans, jalapenos, pico, cheese, cheese. No salsa. We ordered a side of sour cream. The highlight of our meal was Bella Bot. Bella works for the bartender sending alcoholic drinks to your table. She plays music, can sing Happy Birthday, accepts pets and scratches for a job well done and zooms back to the bar once drinks are delivered. This is the first time I've experienced a Bot in a restaurant.

Driven by this place a million times and finally stopped in for dinner & drinks. Why did I not come here sooner? Is like El Asadero without the annoying crowd, blaring music, and outrageous prices! I'm aware I sound a like a boomer here, but we had a great server (shout out Sophie!) fresh made food, and amazing drinks. Chill vibe, lots of TVs for sports, much bigger inside than you would think. Check it out!

Heard good things and were in the area so we checked it out. What a fun place. Great decorations and environment. Plenty of TVs throughout the restaurant to make it a great place to hang with friends and watch the games. They had a very nice bar with a nice selection of spirits to make all cocktails. They have an extensive drink menu with a a lot of fun drinks. They also have a decent beer selection, except not my go to PBR. The margarita flight looks like a fun drink. We had a very good server as he met our needs. The menu was a nice selection of Mexican, Colombian, Venezuelan, and Cuban dishes. They also have some American staples to meet the needs of others in your group. I was disappointed in the pastor taco, but enjoyed the Barbacoa and chorizo tacos.

Fun restaurant. It has these great day of the dead type of chandeliers that give off a pinkish, red, purple light. Three fake fuzzy white trees are lit with hot pink. Cool ambience. Great bar, long, well stocked. Fun latin music in the back ground. The menu is extensive. Our server JoseD did a good job at guiding us thru the menu, explaining many of the Peruvian, Columbian, Venezuelan, Mexican and Cuban signature dishes. With all those wonderful and tempting options, we choose tacos. Yep. Tacos. We just were not hugely hungry. My favorite of the tacos was the jicama with shrimp. So good! There were only two shrimp on it. Wish there were three but the shrimp were huge and the flavor... superb. I may have moaned. The pastor was okay. Both my husband and I got those and tbo, we both were disappointed with it. Just not our favorite. It was the flavor, the texture and the quantity of meat, or lack of. Wouldnt get those again. My pollo rojo also was decent. It had flavor but I needed to put the hot sauce on it to jazz it up. Then I liked it even more. My husband also ordered the barbacoa and one with chorizo. Both he liked both, but the barbacoa stood out. While I was sitting there the lady next to me got a threesome of tacos and I literally went "omg look at THOSE amazing tacos" Which started a fun conversation with the cute couple. The tacos truly looked amazing. They had avocado, lettuce lots of chicken. They were overflowing! Another couple got a flight of margaritas. We will definitely be back for those once it warms up as they have a huge patio which would be so fun to drink at. This is definitely a FUN place!!!

Great local spot. Good Margaritas. Fast service. This time, we got the last high top in the bar. They also have a small part of he outdoor furniture set up. Can't wait to go back and sit outside. We started with some frozen margaritas. Strawberry for me and mango for my man. Not at happy hour price. The next round, we got the frozen house Margaritas. The Trio Dip is on the Happy Hour menu at $2 off, great for our appetizer. The salsa and queso were spicy. The guacamole was delicious, nice, and fresh. For our meal, we split the Fajitas with chicken, steak, and shrimp. it only comes with 3 tortillas. You just have to ask for more. Our server was very attentive without being overbearing. Everything came out at the right temperature and was delicious. This is another one of our favorite local places to go. Their happy hour goes to 7 pm which is great as other places only go to 5 or 6 pm.

PATACON with carnitas (only 1/4 of it because I ate it before I could get a photo!)

This is one of my favorite restaurants! I get the patacon with pork every time I go. The service is great and you can be seated quickly on a weekday evening. Friday nights are busy so arrive at least 30 minutes before you want to be seated. The ambiance is super relaxed and you can even catch your favorite sports team as they have tvs around the entire room. Another favorite is the spinach dip! And the pina colada is so yummy. I definitely recommend!

    Chicken tacos - very dry

Nice and spacious with tasteful decorations! The staff was friendly and worked hard to get our party of 7 seated quickly. We had a few mishaps with our food - my Patacon was great! But hubby's chicken tacos were too dry for him to eat! They brought my granddaughter the wrong order but to their credit fixed it quickly! Their guac is really good and the salsa n chips are tasty too! I would probably try them again!

I definitly still recommend winking lizard for a good American sports bar meal. Service is always great too and their seasonal items are always really good! I did notice a couple of things, and I don't know if this is a trend or a 1-off. The blue cheese sauce was super thin, the wing sauce was also thin and would not stick/coat the wings, and the draft beer menu seems MUCH smaller that I remember. All FWIW.

I went with 5 Bourbon Barrel wings and 5 Spicy Garlic, both bone-in. The Bourbon Barrel wings leaned sweet with a light bourbon note. Flavor was decent, but they were pretty light on sauce and didn't have much crisp for being fried -- honestly, they almost tasted baked. The wings also weren't very tender, and I had to work a bit to get the meat off the bone. And yes, I know some people would say "just get boneless," but I'm a bone-in guy -- the bone adds flavor, and boneless wings are usually more breading than chicken anyway. The Spicy Garlic had a nice kick and solid flavor, but unfortunately had the same texture issues as the Bourbon Barrel wings -- not crispy and not very tender. I also ordered blue cheese and celery. It was fine, but nothing special. The blue cheese flavor was pretty muted and didn't have that bold, tangy punch I usually look for. On the plus side, the steak fries were cooked correctly and did their job. One highlight was their Mardi Gras menu. We tried the beignets with bourbon maple glaze, and those were a pleasant surprise. They came out piping hot, dusted with powdered sugar, and while they're not a traditional beignet, the flavor was really good and easily the most memorable part of the meal. So was the experience great? I'd say it was good. The food was fine, serviceable, but not especially memorable. Would I come back? Probably -- just maybe not for the wings next time. But, let me add. We had Jordan as our server and he was a great server. He did an outstanding job!
