This was my second time here and I definitely recommend that you get your taco DELUXE. The grilled cheese on the tortilla, beans and guac. add so much more flavor to the taco. It's worth the extra $1.00. I got the chicken deluxe taco this time and it was delicious. The chicken was marinated really well. My taco had a lot of meat and it came out pretty quick.
I went to Barracuda Taco Stand it was my first dining experience with them so tried mostly everything on the menu. Chicken quesadillas, beef tacos (flour and corn) chips, and queso, hibiscus drink. Family members had crispy fish tacos, beef, and and chorizo tacos and cocktails. Cocktails were good. The food was amazing seasoned well, very tasty with toppings, diced onions, and cilantro, green salsa perfect portion size. Food was so good we went back the next day and it was the same everything tasted great! The service was good staff was friendly there was a long line but you were served pretty fast or you can pre-order and pick up. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor patio where you can dine in also look forward to dining in soon.
Craving tacos and this place popped up while driving through. They had me at fish tacos! I also thought it was interesting that they put pomegranate seeds on their tacos. Never seen that before but it's a nice touch - gives a nice light sweetness to cut the savory. I ordered the fish taco and a mushroom taco. Loved them both but liked the fish taco more and was sad when it was over. They also have a strawberry puree special where you can add it to drinks and I added it to the lemonade. Really good and surprisingly not too sweet for me! Nice spot if you're craving tacos!
Delicious delicious delicious. I stopped by for a lunch with my friends today because I've been hearing they are amazing and the food, the service, and the ambiance was amazing. The staff were amazing and so helpful. They have picnic tables and other tables outside with beautiful greenery. I ordered the chicken quesadilla which was loaded with this ooey gooey cheese that was perfect. I also got two of their crispy catfish tacos which was topped with onions, cilantro, and pomegranate seeds which added some nice acidity and sweetness to the tacos. I used their very tasty green sauce on top of them all and it was so delicious. For drinks, I got their classic margarita and their mangonada freeze. I know I will be back for sure. The only downside I must add about this place is their parking is very limited. Around noon, I had to park across the street at the gas station and walk across because the place was filled with cars already.
Barracuda's #1 fan right here! I have never had a bad experience here. The tacos are SO delicious. The staff is friendly. The vibes are great. The space is cute. All around 10/10. I don't live here but whenever I visit BTR, this is ALWAYS a must stop. I've done road trips & done a quick detour stop in BTR to grab some tacos to go. I even bought some of their merch - that's how much I love this place.
This is our family's favorite place to eat. We do breakfast on the weekends consistently. The chorizo is spicy and amazing with the hibiscus tea. My son that doesn't like spicy things gets the bacon taco and it is always great too (with a limeade). My hubby gets the iced coffee. For dinner, I get the fish (always perfectly fried) and shrimp Macha (spicy). My boys (11, 12) get the steak. My husband loves the chicken tacos. The green sauce is really nice. The pitcher of margaritas are great as well. Oh, and always chips and queso.
Never in a million years would I have imagined that a BROCCOLI taco and cheese quesadilla would be my favorite meal in BR, but Barracuda's secret sauce is something potent!!! I crave those two items most (pretty much daily) but everything we've ever tried has been fantastic. Usually pretty quick service (food has never taken more than 10-15 minutes) and such a nice, chill spot to hang out and sip some drinks.
I needed to updated this review to let y'all know Barracuda is still at the top of my list for tacos. They haven't missed yet!!!!! My go to are now the beef and chicken tacos with crema and pickled onions. I also like that now the picked onions now have jalapeños in them! Now the rice is always a miss for me. It doesn't taste like anything to me. I've noticed that my favorite drink the frozen mango one has disappeared from the menu. I hope it returns for the summer. I still need y'all to make it so that I can order more than 1 extra shot of mezcal please.. Other than that keep up the amazing work!
I went here with my bf during the spring, and while it was warm it was still nice enough to sit outside midday and enjoy the weather. Being that the seating is outside, it is definitely something to think about before going. You order at the window and food is brought to you. While it was busy, the line to order moved by quickly and I think the prices were reasonable for what we ordered. We ordered queso and chips, I got a bowl and we got a pitcher of margaritas. Everything was delicious and fresh. The queso had pepitas on it which added a unique crunch and the queso tasted like it had been made in house versus out of a can. The food was fresh and the margaritas were too, and definitely packed a punch. I would recommend going here and will be going back.
Service was spot in. Girls at the window were very pleasant. Fish tacos are excellent... who knew
The food is AMAZING. It felt great outside. This is outside only, hints "Taco Stand". They are cashless, the guy did tell us we will take cash it just needs to be exact change. There are multiple fans blowing. Also pet friendly. The rice is different I can't put my finger on it but it was delicious. Now I'm a Chipotle lover, however I would choose this place every time. This could be a 1st date or just hang out with friends or family. Parking is a bit crazy though. We went a bit later in the day, the line goes pretty quick. Grab your number and have a seat they will bring it to you. They did forget my corn, however I just went to the window and showed my receipt and they gave it no problem. My food was so good I almost forgot about the corn. I will definitely be back.
I always love barracuda for a quick lunch- this was the special shrimp taco and it was probably my favorite that I have tried from here! I should have ordered more!
So, I have to honest. My first time eating at Barracuda, I felt like the tacos were just okay. Since returning, the tacos are fresh, hot when served, meat is tender and juicy. Everything is just delicious! I've been back at least 3 times in the last 2 months and I can't wait to go back again! The patio is perfect for the summer evening, even though it's still hot. They have plenty of fans and misters to keep you cool. Last time, I tried the pork taco, a change from my usual chicken and beef taco. Omg, I wish I would have tried it sooner! Definitely juicy, tender, and flavorful. Now I'm going to have a hard time choosing next time! I only wish there was more parking because that's the only con to this location. Even that won't stop me from enjoying these tacos! This place has easily become me and my husband's favorite laidback date night! See you in a couple of weeks!

My Wife and I visit here often, usually prior to a walk around the lakes. We have had almost all of the tacos. I will rank the tacos that we have had below. The salsa, quac and queso are all really good. We really like the pomegranate seeds, it's something a little different and adds a nice pop of flavor. The toasted seeds and caramelized onion on the broccoli taco is also really good. The mangonada freeze also goes with everything really well and nice to drink while sitting outside. 1. Steak 2. Chicken 3. Broccoli 4. Fish 5. Pork read more

Finally stopped by for lunch today, after hearing the past few years how great it is. I ordered four different tacos: pork, beef, shrimp, and fish. Of the four, the fish was my favorite. That said, I didn't consider any of them to be "great." They were all ok/good, but I certainly wasn't thinking to myself, "These are the best tacos I've ever had!" like some people had told me. Overall I'd rate it 3.5 stars. Glad I tried it, but doubt I'll ever go back. read more

I love this open air taco stand in Mid-City. Attached to a nursery, it's a great place to gather on a brisk fall day or evening, grab their classic marg, and enjoy some tasty and pretty unique tacos. I've been here a few times, and I have quickly found three go-to tacos that go beyond the regular pork, beef, and chicken options. The mushroom taco is topped with a spicy sauce, and I got mine "delux" with some beans and topping for just an extra $1.50. It was really good and filling. I also really enjoy the fish taco - again with a spicy sauce. So much flavor and again, really filling. Another one I took a chance on was the broccoli taco -- that was delish with the flavor of a grilled broccoli and charred ends. The classic marg is a great drink to go along with your meal. I have also heard the paloma is a good choice. I imagine during the summertime, it may be a bit oppressive with the heat, but there are covers throughout the area to provide some shade. Staff is really helpful too, and they will suggest various items to help you. Parking can be difficult as the lots are fairly small. However, there is street parking close by - just don't pull in anyone's yard. For some reason, some of the Mid-City residents don't realize we have a street-parking friendly neighborhood, so I was glared at and some neighbors have made public comments, but maybe they should embrace what the neighborhood has to offer. read more

Fresh food and a fun outdoor experience Barracuda is perfect for meeting friends for a casual drink or stopping in for a quick fresh order of hot chips and cool salsa. There a lot of choices from fresh frozen cocktails to tacos and nachos. The service is walk up and the wait was quick with pick your seat in a beautifully landscaped garden. read more
The best tacos I have ever had! Barracuda is such a great spot for tacos. They have lots to offer including delicious vegetarian options. I always get the mushroom taco and the broccoli taco. They're my absolute favorite. There's lot of seating at this establishment. You walk up to the window and order and then sit outside. The Paloma's there was really great too! Every time I visit Baton Rouge I always get Barracuda multiple times. read more

First visit to Barracuda, and I can confidently say it's now my new favorite spot for tacos in town! I started with the chips and queso and both were delicious. I then had a chicken taco and a steak taco and they were both amazing. The meat was perfectly seasoned and you could really taste how fresh everything was. Both tacos were served on a fresh flour tortilla with cilantro, onion, and lime. I also tried their homemade limeade and it was incredibly refreshing--definitely a must-try. The service was quick and friendly and the outdoor seating area had a great vibe. The only downside is that parking is a bit limited. All in all, everything about this place was fantastic and I can't wait to dine here again. Highly recommend it if you're a taco lover! read more

Huge outdoor dining area (no indoor seating), and an apparently small kitchen - on a busy Friday night, be prepared for a long wait. Counter service is relatively quick and easy, but getting food can be really slow - as much as an hour. Which is great for catching up with your friends. The chips and salsa are good, but our basket of chips was mostly small crumbs :( The salsa is good and thick and not too spicy :) If you like lots of flavor and a little heat - and I do - then these are the tacos for you! The mushroom tacos are really surprising - a bit crispy, almost beefy flavor, and pretty spicy. The pork is very good with a melt-in-your mouth texture and a great, smoky sauce. Definitely a place worth a try!! read more

Steady stream of customers- expect a line with a short wait to order. My food was worth the short wait. I gave them 4 out of 5 stars due to two Restaurant101 offenses. 1) staff member (woman with long dark straight hair) was brushing her hair behind the counter in the drink and food prep area as she chatted with another staff member. Are you kidding me? Brush your hair in the bathroom or outside- not in the food prep area!!!! 2) bathroom stall had no toilet paper. This was a stall with a 2 roll dispenser. Two rolls empty in the dispenser means that the bathroom isn't being checked regularly. Sh*t like that matters! For those two Restaurant101 offenses, you lost a star from the rating. Ordered Deluxe pork taco Regular crispy fish taco Great texture, taste, freshness. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!!!! Service was friendly and prompt. Staff immediately cleared tables after customers were finished. Great music soundtrack playing on the inviting patio. Fans and misters on patio were pleasant. People bring their doggos. Excellent Excellent Excellent food and atmosphere. read more

Hubs and I enjoyed our Saturday visit! We went around 1:00 pm. The weather was nice for outdoor eating. The parking was kind of tight but we got a last minute spot in the lot behind the building. We ordered at the window and were given a table number. We sat at a cute table for 2. We ordered 3 chicken tacos and 3 fish tacos. They are a pretty good size, we were only able to eat 4. The tacos were flavorful and good! We also had the queso and chips! Delicious. I believe they do free refills of the chips! I took my 12 year old on a Sunday night visit. The weather was chilly and they had outdoor heaters. Also they had the football games on. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere on both visits. I will definitely recommend to family and friends! read more
