I could definitely tell there were some regulars there because everyone was friendly, but maybe it's because I wasn't buying and taking shots with the staff, I felt disregarded. Hopefully my next visit there are more than just 3 cans of cider left in the building and folks are a bit more attentive. I had to creat a Yelp account only so I can provide with a review on this place: Terrible! I understand they are new on this location, but as I was told by one of the staff member they have other branches in CA, I hope they are not as bad as this one... The taste of the food is good, unfortunately it doesn't make it up for the slow service, the careless attention, and this: My nephew is vegetarian, he doesn't eat fish, we ask for a dish just as it is just without the fish and they said NO! They said "sorry, not today" when then? When we ask for the reason on why not, the waitress said: "the chef said he doesn't want to" I can't believe they'd denied a request on a dish, we weren't asking for a cheaper price, we just asked for no fish in it! Anyway, definitely not coming back here, either you eat what they want you to eat, when they want you to eat it, and how they want... terrible read more

We had such a great experience at Barra Azul! The food was excellent from start to finish. We started with the pork belly carnitas sliders--there were four good-sized sliders, perfectly seasoned and so satisfying. We also ordered the enchiladas with half red and half green sauce, which were both flavorful and well balanced. Before ordering, we had a question about the sauces we'd seen mentioned on Yelp, and the chef himself came out to explain them to us. He even offered to let us try a sample before deciding, which was such a thoughtful touch. That level of service really stood out and made us feel taken care of. Between the attentive staff, the chef's personal touch, and the delicious food, Barra Azul is definitely a spot we'll be coming back to. Highly recommend! read more

This place was remodeled recently. Writing on the menu was way too small. Me and my family dined in and order carne asada tacos, potato tacos, octopus tostada. The tostada was more like a ceviche, but it was great, very delicious. Tacos were all very tasty. Kids bean burrito was way to big for a kid but it was tasty. Chimoy and watermelon margaritas were tasty but a bit small. Chili oil needs to be a lot more spicy. But Overall it was an excellent experience, service was good. I would definitely come here again. When I heard about a Mexican infused sushi restaurant opening up down the street I had to give it a try and went to their soft opening. We had the Mar and Tierra roll and Crunch roll to start. I was pleasantly surprised with both which made me want to try some other menu items. The taco Gorbenador and Ceviche Especial were pact with flovor. I recommend you give it a try. We had dinner a great night at Barra Azul. We had the shrimp empanadas and the potato tacos, which were both delicious, with the right amount of spice. I enjoyed the music they were playing Friday night, it really helped set the ambiance. According to my receipt, I requested no salsa and no cheese, only four items: fries, beans, asada, and cilantro & onion (the cilantro and onion are a duo item). My sister ordered an asada quesadilla with four extra green sauces, for which she was charged. When I received my asada fries, they had added pico de gallo and crema. I spoke with the manager about the mistake, but he became upset. I called my sister over to help me address the issue. The manager said this would be the last time he would fix my order and told me not to return. When my sister checked her food, she found that they had given her four red sauces instead of the green sauces she ordered. She commented that it seemed like they didn't want to help Black customers who patronize their establishment. All we ask for is what we paid for. Overall, it seems more like a fast-casual sushi spot, with spanish music on speakers, and a couple of tvs. One thing that stood out was the lack of greeting when we entered. We sat for about five minute, looking over the menu, without acknowledgment. Btw: you do order at the counter, but with only one other group there, it made the lack of interaction more noticeable. And gave the impression they didn't care. In the end, we decided to leave without ordering. We did notice that the scent coming from the kitchen didn't smell particularly fresh or appetizing, which also influenced our decision to go to another spot.

When we started coming we would ordered a tostada de camarón which back in the day was around $6.50. They are now about $9.50. They have definitely have gotten way more expensive but it's understandable with inflation. However, we keep coming back because the food and the micheladas are tasty. The servers are always very polite and attentive. They always constantly check in on you picking up empty plates, trash, take you more chips, etc.

Perfect consistency in the liquid and thickness. Ugh! I drive all the way from Moreno Valley (over by reche canyon) just to get food here. It's worth the drive. The portion is great! It's been years since I've gone inside to eat but I'm sure it's fine. I just take it to go because I don't have too much time to hang out otherwise I would. Check this place out!!!

Everything we ordered was outstanding--absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be recommending this place. Even though at the beginning the place looked sketchy now I knows It's a hidden gem! Se le cambió el nombre a Mariscos Chinola. Cuando entramos, fuimos recibidos por Aileen, quien nos hizo sentir bienvenidos de inmediato y nos ofreció algunas excelentes recomendaciones.
