Like a royal rash. Burns & Noble

If the bathroom smells, that's just the Barnes And Noble Gases. Borders was always better than Barnes & Noble. They were a little cheaper and a little cooler and a little friendlier and way less stuffy. Borders went the way of the dodo because of really bad corporate management and left us with Barnes and Noble. This one here in Maryland is as expensive and regal and over-the-top as you would imagine. It's a place where you can hang out and read a lot if that's your thing. It's not really my thing. There was a time when it was but that time is past. Much like this review's time. On to the next.

    False advertising

We came in here Jan 1st, I got 2 puzzles since there was buy one get 50% off. We got the lego PUZZLE right under the sign and another regular puzzle. Cashier told us we couldnt get 50% off since theyre "legos". Dont put a sign up if youre going to false advertise. If exclusions apply, maybe elaborate. Dont put the puzzles that arent 50% off right under the 50% off sign.

Wow, I found parking right in front. That hardly happens. I love this store for its lay out. It is wide open in the front and the Starbucks was near right. The store is smaller than some other Barnes and Nobles. The customers here are definitely not cordial- they don't greet smile or speak. It oh well-let me get back to browsing and drinking tea.

Located right in Pearland town center, this Barnes and Noble is large but not as big as some of the others. The parking is limited, so find a spot and start walking. This location is large with a variety of different sections. The day I went in, I was looking for something other than books. Most Barnes and Noble stores have gifts and smaller non-book items to purchase. This location doesn't have as many gift items to chose from as other locations. On this occasion, I was in a rush and ended up choosing some Godiva cocoa. The store was clean and laid out in a logical manner. Ok, so the most annoying part of my experience was the two cashiers. There were two female cashiers who were EXTREMELY loud. They were gossiping and talking so loud that the front half of the store could hear them. It seemed to me that they were talking loud enough so that people would hear them. At one point a certain Christmas song came on and one of them started singing along with it. She kept commenting on her singing ability back in school and how she used to be so good. Well, I can tell you, that someone must have lied to her, because she was awful. I am guessing these ladies are just in need of constant attention. When I went to pay which I dreaded because they were the only two cashiers, one of the ladies was so busy talking that she didn't even notice the line that had formed for check out. When I walked up to the register, she kept trying to engaged me in her ridiculous banter, which I ignored. I paid and left. Ok, so rating this place was very difficult for me. It's a nice new location that is clean and well laid out. It isn't as big as some of the other locations. The incredibly annoying cashiers make me want to score is a 2, but I'll be nice and give them 3 stars for a decent store.

This Barnes & Noble location is huge! There are a few parking spots in the front, but plenty of parking in the back. I learned this a few months ago when I went to the restaurant next door. They have a sizable LP selection and even some B&N exclusives. I found two that I'm pretty excited about. Also have a big toy/figure section. I found some high end Star Wars Samurai figures from Japan that I didn't even know were available in the states. I bought two of them...because I am a nerd. It was a big purchase (for me anyway) and the salesperson that rang me up explained the benefits of their Membership program where you get 10% off all purchases. She sold me, it worked out that I got the 10% off these figures and the membership only cost me $7. I think it worked out pretty nice.

Love to come here with my family. There are books for all ages. It is located in the Pearland Town Center which has nice restaurants and shops. There is a Starbucks inside B and N. I wish it had story time for kids and a bit more books in the art and architecture section. It is a good place to relax while reading. We are trying to support book stores as Amazon has taken over, and this place has great books and a friendly staff.

Always a great sight for me! It's where I pick up cheap, little doodads like my model plane.

Very nice. There is a Starbucks inside that is nice and makes good coffee. Only complaint is the internet is bad.

I heard that this place pays for items you want to sell with cash. Probably, if you were doing a…read moreconsignment, you'd get more for your items, but if quick cash is your thing, I'd try it out just to understand the process. I finally made the time to drop off a few of my X's gifts that I wanted out of my house. A name brand purse was involved. Besides some name brand perfume and a dress from Shein, the experiment was small. I was expecting at least $50 for the haul, but haha - $18 was my takeaway. I at least have to applaud them processing the haul prior to the estimated time. I was in the parking lot managing my next stop when I received a text that my offer was ready. I was told the offer is computerized and not left up to the store members. I really didn't care - it was a gift that I didn't want in my house anymore, so the $18 was more than I was getting with it collecting dust. You may say just donate it, but clothing accessory donations have not yielded me any tax breaks over the years, so I gladly took my 18 bucks and will buy groceries for the church food bank. Additionally, the Shein dress (that by the way had never been worn and had the tags on it) as well as barely used perfume was not accepted items. They offered to donate the dress to Goodwill, and I gave the perfume to the young lady who was working the hauls. Again, I didn't want the items in my house anymore, so my goal was accomplished. Now, if it had been my own stuff I paid money for, I probably would have taken those items back and found someone to buy them or put them under consignment. However, since it was no cost to me, the experiment was just okay for me. I know they'll make way more than $18 off that name brand purse, but that's the trade-off for same day cash back for selling items. Overall, I'm sure this is a great resource for people who need cash right away, but I'm never in that kind of bind to just give my stuff away, which you are almost doing at Plato's. As far as the selection of clothes to buy, I didn't check. It was way too crowded for my taste with bunches of racks. Since I'm not a shopper most days, I wasn't moved to look either. Maybe one day soon, I'll choose to do so and give an overall review of this place, but for now, you have insight on being a seller at Plato's in case you're interested.

When asked if I could roll it around, I was told "no because we would have to pick it up". Then I asked for assistance to help lift it until the counter and was told "if you can pick it up yourself, then we can't go through it". However, it took two of them to go through the luggage but no help?! It just makes me feel sorry for those who are actually handicapped or needed extra assistance due to the lack of physical capability. Plus the counter is entirely too high for most. I worked at Plato's closet before and never remember ever telling a customer that or at least not lend a helping hand. Just want the consideration for everyone's well being on BOTH sides.

Thus, you'll get a designer dress for a discounted price, but all the alterations/tailoring is up to you outside of the purchase. My sales associate Ella was very sweet and really worked hard to try to find multiple dresses in different silhouettes. She went above & beyond to try to make the whole fitting comfortable and accommodate the different opinions of my family who came with me. Definitely ask for her if it's your first time here. She did not pressure me into making a decision & always respected the budget. She was probably my favorite associate to work with out of all the shops I have been to thus far.

No returns and no dress alterations available. The idea is " Designer dresses for less". Although it sounds like a good idea I don't find the logic on purchasing a dress that needs to be completely redone because it's huge(4 sizes bigger) at another place without a warranty that it will be able to be done .... I understand alterations are often needed, But having to redo a dress is something else . Chances are you won't be able to complete your wedding look here as there's a very tiny selection of accessories to complement the dresses (veils, belts etc...) Despite all my doubts and concerns we purchased a dress here and my daughter is hopeful it will be able to be altered without any issues. In my opinion it's not worth the risk . Service was ok .
