    Happy Hour Dragon roll
    Svitlana S.

Stopped in during a downpour for a quick happy hour drink, and it felt like we had the place almost to ourselves. Quiet, relaxed, and a nice break from the chaos outside. Their happy hour is definitely worth checking out--solid deals on both drinks and food. I ordered the baked dragon roll with a pint of Sapporo, and the combo really hit the spot. The roll was warm, flavorful, and nicely balanced, while the beer was crisp and refreshing. Service was friendly, but a bit slow to start. It took some time to flag someone down to place an order, though once we did, everything came out quickly. One odd moment--someone at the table next to us actually left without paying because no one checked on them for a while, which says a lot about the pacing. Overall, I'd still come back for happy hour if I'm in the area--great value, good food, just be ready to wave someone over.

Overall, the food and service were solid. The ambiance is a fairly dim-lit space, great for conversations and group gatherings. The food was pretty tasty. The beef combo is good enough for 3 people, we had 4 so we ordered a few apps as well. The only problem I had was with the price. For how much you're paying, all the portions are tiny. They taste great, but that doesn't necessarily make up for the high cost to me. I would potentially come back again, but would only recommend for rare occasions or if you're not paying (like a corporate event or something)

Been visiting Barn Joo since 2018 and has always been my favorite spot. The food here is absolutely excellent, flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Every dish we tried hit the mark. The wings (which my friends had ordered) according to them they were juicy, crispy, and coated in just the right amount of sauce. The shrimp tempura were plump with a great texture, and the Kimchi Creamy Shrimp were incredibly fresh and tasted so, so good. Service was top-tier. The atmosphere was lively with great music, friendly servers, and an overall warm, welcoming vibe. Dining here genuinely felt like being "up the hill" everything was a step above the rest. Highly recommend both the food and the service can't wait to come back!

Visited this before a concert and were able to get in and out fairly quickly. (30 min) We got the Tteok and Cheese, which is almos like a corn chowder. Like an amazing corn chowder. I could drink it! The shrimp was a little salty but still decent. There were 10 pieces of shrimp, along with nice sauces and a really good corn side. We won the jar of kimchi from their prize wheel and it was great too

We went to Barn Joo for lunch, and both the food and the service were exceptional. The server discovered that my oldest daughter was celebrating her birthday that day and that we were visiting from out of town. He took the initiative to bring her a dessert and sang "Happy Birthday" to her along with his coworkers. I loved that little detail; it was unexpected and truly made her day. She felt so special! (And yes, the food was AMAZING!)

This is a very cute restaurant right by Union Square Park. Very innovative dedighnnindide. Came for lunch two weeks ago. We felt that the good was overpriced, the wait staff very friendly and helpful. The fried wontons were 3 small dumplings for $15, also had the sushi roll and the soup lunch platter which was $30 I think is more a spot for rich students to drink and have fun in a welcoming atmosphere, if you just want a good lunch there are Much better options.

The service was great :) everyone was friendly and attentive, which I really appreciated. The food, however, was just okay. The Korean fried chicken wings were overly breaded, and I've had much better KFC elsewhere. The Tiger Roll was just another fried item without much flavor, and the hibiscus lemonade tasted more like regular lemonade with a splash of grenadine... not what I expected. On the bright side, the truffle fries were really good !! They were fresh, crispy, and the side dips were tasty! Unfortunately, the chicken tacos were a total miss for me. Overall, happy hour prices are great, but the food itself isn't really something I'd come back for.

SO YUMMY MY FAVORITE KIMCHI CREAMY UDON IVE EVER HAD. Way better than izakaya mew from what I remember. First thing I ever had in NYC Dishes were presented so beautifully. Service was good. Inside restaurant was good. Tbh everything was pretty good. Every th ing else we got was also decent. Pork bulgogi was flavorful and decent portions. The sashimi bibimbap was probably the worst of the bunch but still good.

This restaurant has been my go-to place for so long. It never fails. Oysters are amazing. Seafood Paella is good in its way but Korea fusion. Service is always great.

Me and friend came here after another bar. Should have come here first. We decided to seat at the bar for a quick one. Caz was our bartender and he was great. Awesome sense of humor and has a good pouring hand! Lol It was late so we just ordered some tapas. We got the popcorn chicken and the spicy bulgogi. Both were so delicious and flavorful. It has confirmed I will be back for a full dinner. This was a great spot A+ I do recommend.

I didn't expect their pork bulgogi tacos to be good. But they were great?! I wish the tacos had corn tortillas, but the pork itself really had the right cut and chew, which was fantastic. Servers were super friendly and I didn't feel uncomfortable as a solo diner. Great place to grab a bite!

Good location, large space with bbq tables upstairs. Our party of 5 spun the wheel and got a free order of truffle fries! Thanks! Cute way to welcome people in! We sat upstairs and ordered drinks. They took a while. The service was ok- she was trying but they were busy. We were there for the food. Which was pretty great. We did a beef and a pork assorted combo. The kalbi was the favorite however all cuts were tasty and easy to cook. They serve it correctly with ssamyang and lettuce leaves. The corn cheese was delish and the egg souffle was solid. Banchans were nice. Will be back and highly recommend for a large group ready to start a fun night out with Soju!

The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. Serious attitude here. The cocktails were very tasty but the service and vibe were so off-putting,…read moreI will never go back. I made a reservation in person more than 24 hours in advance. I wanted to treat an old friend to a quick birthday toast before a show she was attending nearby. Later that night, another friend became available to join but, because they do not actually have a phone that takes calls (only offers an announcement to go to Resy or email) adding another person was not at all easy. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
