I'm NEVER bringing my dogs back here again ! When I picked up my dogs the guy showed me that they cut him a little on his stomach he said they cleaned it and it should be fine . Fine whatever, I leave then I see that my dog keeps licking his back . I see under his fur 2 HUGE cuts ! I had to end up taking my dog to the vet! I ended up walking away with a 200 vet visit . Not only did they cut him once but 3 times ! And didn't even tell me about the other cuts on his back. My poor dog is in pain. I just can't believe this happened . I have been taking my dogs here for a while now and I have noticed that the service has gotten worse and worse. I made an appointment to take my dogs in on Saturday and was quoted $105 for three dogs, which is what I usually pay since I bring my dogs often. An hour after I dropped off my dogs I got a phone call from a woman named June who proceeded to tell me that I had to pay more because it's Saturday. I told her that I have taken my dogs on Saturday before and that they have always given me the same price. This upset her and she changed her tone and said "we are in this business for the money and not to give free grooming!" She then proceeded to tell me that if I wanted my dogs groomed I would have to pay $45 per dog. I was in a crunch so I said ok. What really upset me was that the next day I noticed blood on my dogs pillow and crusty blood on his ear. Upon inspection I realized that they had actually cut off a piece of my dogs inner ear fold. It was a pretty bad cut and I know my dog cried when it happened. There's no way that you could cut a dog that way and not know. Still, they didn't say anything to me about it when I picked up my dogs. This shows me that they really don't care about the animals they are grooming and only care about the money. I understand mistakes happen but they need to notify the owners when they injure their dogs. I will never take my dogs there again!! read more

I only bring my dog to this one because it's convenient. I use the self-serve wash and am disappointed that the prices went up. They use to punch a card that kept track of how many washes I gave because on the tenth one, my dog would get a free bath, but now they "keep track" on a computer which they don't because every time I go, they ask for my number and can't find it in their system. Therefore, they don't keep track of how many washes I've done to earn a free one. I like how the shampoos are free to use and I never have to wait to use a tub. But I need to find another place that's close to where I live that is more professional. read more

I didn't want to wash my dog on the same tub I wash my son so I am so happy to find out about this self dog-wash service. They provide everything you need. All you need to do is show up with your dog. The area is pretty clean too. I just wish they would extend their hours so I can come later afternoon. At any rate the staffs & owner are very friendly. They really try to be very accommodating to what you need. I purchased the 10-wash deal. But after only 2 washes, I lost my receipt and "stamp card" (which is nothing but the back of their business card). The owner said, "don't worry about it, just come whenever you want." DO NOT COME HERE!! My 8mo pup is a very playful dog as most puppies should be, but since his last visit, a few days ago, he can't eat due to a sore jaw and he walks with whimpers because his legs are also sore, he's had a very traumatized demeanor since I picked him up, and he's afraid of being held and tries to stay hidden under the bed. I almost thought I got the wrong dog back. When I picked him up they told me he was "very wild, extremely wild, and that he even pooped and peed on them", maybe bc he was scared shitless!! It's clear to me that they are not professional here and do not know how to handle small active dogs (my pup is a Poodle Mini). To top things off I was told the price would be $40 and it changed to $60 when I picked him up, when I asked why the price went up they said because the dog was "extremely wild and hard to handle" so basically expect an injured dog and a fee for their lack of professionalism and experience, oh but they did offer $5 off if I paid cash -__- I have an older dog that I had been bringing here since he was a pup and I have definitely noticed a downward spiral at this place over the years, but this really tops it NEVER COMING BACK, except to ask to see the credential of their groomers, bc Im taking my pup to the vet and then taking them the bill. I will be sure to do everything in my power to discourage people from coming to the hellhole. read more

My Oliver comes here since the day one (2012) I bring him home from Downey animal shelter. We both love there and they treat Oliver so nice and well. When I drop him off to get a nice hair cut, I am not too worry because I know he is on good hands. Never disappointed! Today was my first time trying this place and I love it. Made it so easy to bathe and dry my dogs. The service was wonderful both ladies where very nice and very helpful. The water did change from hot to cold but it was not a big deal my dogs are not picky didn't affect them at all. I think whomever complained about that made too much of a big deal. WOW! First and last time here. We walked in through the back door and came across an older lady cleaning. We told her we were there for self serve, she told us to go to the front. The lady in the front then leads us to the tubs and then proceeds to go to the back room where the First Lady was - she SLAMS the door and starts screaming. There was a full blown out argument about why one isn't doing her job in the back along with what I think was stuff thrown at walls or each other perhaps? Lol. The older lady comes to the tub the shampoo was already there but at this point I feel too uncomfortable to ask for the conditioner and facial shampoo that was missing - I just want to bathe my dog and get out. She asks if we want the conditioner and facial shampoo, I say "no this is okay". She says "are you sure because I'm going to leave and I'm not going to come back. I can't stand here. I have things to do". I never asked her for help to begin with. I was uncomfortable with her mere presence. She was even more rude to the lady in station next to us. The water was cold. That's an issue on its own. She asked us to use only one pump of shampoo - don't give me a whole bottle of shampoo if you don't want me to use it. There's no option to buy extra shampoo so how am I supposed to bathe my dog? It's time to check out so we head to the register. One of them is making us a punch card while calling a customer and the other is scrambling with the appointment book while also making a punch card. They then get into another argument about who is making the punch card and how to stamp it. They ended up not stamping the punch card and handing it to us while making rude hand gestures to lead us out. They basically kicked us out. I would not for a second leave my dog under their care if they are that disrespectful to each other God forbid my dog do something to get them upset - I can only imagine the consequences. read more

Never again. We have been taking our three dogs there for months to be groomed. This time two of the dogs came home with fur cut way too short and they have abrasions on their belly. They are itchy and miserable. I am so upset. UPDATE: we had to take one of our dogs to the vet because of a horrible cough and wheezing. Turns out she has bronchitis and per the vet, more than likely picked up at the groomers. The vet also had to express her anal glands WHICH WAS PART OF THE PACKAGE WE PAID FOR AT THE GROOMERS. The vet said to beware of any groomer who does not ask for proof of vaccination. This business posts that there must be proof but they have never asked for it. read more

I like this place, it's easy always find a station and the staff is friendly. It costs $10 only for my dog and you get everything, shampoo, ear cleaning solution, towels etc. what else do you want? My dog seems to like it here. It is easy to get an appointment, even on a weekend, usually. My dog is always in a hurry to get in and is happy when we pick him up. On one occasion they left some cotton in his ear and I noticed because he kept shaking his head. I called to let them know and they did not seem overly concerned. I know people can make mistakes, but I would have liked them to show a bit more concern. We've been back a number of times since then. The staff is always courteous and friendly toward me... but I always check my dog's ears for cotton when I pick him up. read more

I am writing this review because i had a great experience at Bark N Bathe, my dog is well behaved which makes trimming his nails 100 times easier. June and David were very helpful and courteous and i will continue to keep going back in the future, as a matter of fact i gotta come back to take advantage of the self service dog bath. I understand however that all though my dog is obedient, there are plenty of dogs who lack the proper discipline to be in an environment like a groomers or a pet spa. This was the first time taking my dog here and my last! My husband and I just moved to Whittier and we were very excited to find a dog groomers that was walking distance from us. When the lady called to tell me my dog was ready to be picked up, she said he was ready and hung up on me. When we got there, she asked if I knew my dog bites? I told her no, and she laughed at me. She was very rude and condescending, and made me feel very uncomfortable. I've taken my dog to the groomers before and never had a complaint about biting. I was explaining to her that I didn't know, and she just laughed, I felt like she was insinuating that I was lying. I wanted to apologized for my dog, but she was so rude. Please do not take your dog here at all!!! I took my dogs here and it was awful. We took them when they opened and didn't get them until 5 in the afternoon. We called twice and they still had not groomed my dogs. My dogs were there the whole day and they didn't even groom one of my dogs and my other dog they didn't cut her nails right. At the being they gave us one price then when we finally picked them up they gave us a different price. I am begging you do not take them there. They injure dogs there.
