I was looking for a new grooming place for my dog and stumbled across this one. I decided to take her in because of the high reviews. The only reason I'm actually leaving a review is inform others of the services so they can be fully aware before taking their dog in. When my husband dropped my dog off, they told him she would have to be shaved down. They also said they would also have to charge more because she was matted. My husband said absolutely not. He told them that we brush her every day and she is not matted and he did not want her shaved. They actually kept insisting and argued with him slightly, and he was insistent that they not shave her down. When I picked her up, the haircut was decent, but they charged me extra because she was matted. I read in some of the other reviews this happened to many. I have been getting my dog groomed for 10 years. Even when she had a little more mats in her fur, no one has ever charged me because it's never been bad due to her frequent brushing. Not only did they up charge me for that fee, but her hair did not feel soft. It was kind of rough. They also wanted me to pay cash instead of using my card. I had to rewash her because her hair was hard. Just not happy with the insistence on wanting to shave my little dog to make it easier for them and overcharging me when their fee was already high and for inconveniently wanting people to pay cash, which means you have to go to the bank to get the money out to pay for the services. It just wasn't worth it to me. I will definitely not go here again. read more

We have a 5 month old miniature schnauzer and the breed requires a consistent grooming. I've been taking my dog to this place for grooming and baths once a month for over a year. Recently, the owner's daughter started handling my dog's baths. She complained about my dog's behavior during the bath, saying he doesn't stay still and dislikes having her nails trimmed. However, when I took my dog home, I noticed her nails hadn't been trimmed, her ear hair wasn't groomed, and instead of smelling nice, he had a strong, fishy odor. Despite these issues, I continued going there out of habit. A few days ago, I noticed a strong smell coming from my dog's rear end. I posted about it on an online blog, and everyone suggested it might be her anal glands. I always made sure to bathe him and have her anal glands checked once a month, as the owner's daughter claimed she did. However, the smell was so strong that I took him to the vet, who said her anal glands were so full they were about to burst. The vet gave me gloves to feel the glands myself, and I could clearly feel large, swollen lumps on both sides. The vet explained that if the grooming place had been properly expressing her glands, this wouldn't have happened. I was furious on my way home from the vet. Reflecting on it, I realized that every time I picked up my dog, the owner's daughter had been complaining about him, and I concluded she hadn't been taking care of the less visible tasks. While it might not be a big deal for them to lose one customer, I urge everyone to double-check and ensure that non-verbal dogs, like mine, are not being neglected and suffering in silence. read more

Let me start off by saying I have been loyal customers to a couple of nearby shops for years. I have never had the experience like I do here anywhere else. My dog is a pure breed Shih Tzu and is allergic to literally everything! She is a constant paw licker and ear scratcher! On my first visit, they recommended a therapy shampoo for dogs with allergies. We gave it a try and I have to tell you there is no going back! This shampoo has dramatically reduced the itch!! I was so surprised at how well this worked. I've been looking for a long time for someone who would not only have good skill but also prioritizes a stress free environment for dogs. The groomer I went to in the past was really good skill-wise with good prices, but my dogs would come out of there absolutely traumatized and would shake uncontrollably when I pulled into the parking lot for an appointment. The way she treats them with such gentleness and kindness made it easy to trust her with my pup for the first time. I have a mini goldendoodle and have had experience with a TERRIBLE haircut before so I've been pretty picky and careful with who I send my pup to. But Jessie... she literally went above and beyond detangling all the mats in my pup's hair and worked overtime to style her to perfection. My pup also came out looking HAPPY and not traumatized so that was a big green flag for me. If there's any groomer that is dedicated, kind, AND skilled, it's JESSIE at PUPPY FACE. Lastly, PRICE... is reasonable and honestly one of the better quotes I've taken for a doodle cut in OC. I was really happy with the price and paid a bit extra for the detangling. I liked that they let him roam around a little bit before being put in a kennel so that he had time to adjust. We were quoted about 3 hours for him to be done but got a call in 2 hours so that was nice! I really wanted to take my malitpoo to a Korean groomer because they know how to give a good puppy/teddy bear cut. So I decided to try Puppy Face and they did not dissapoint! I made an appointment the day before which was really easy. My pup came out so cute and smelled so good. I can tell they really care about the pups and take good care of them. My only gripe is that they charged me an extra $10 because my pup was barking/nipping a lot. I admit he is crazy because he's still a 7 month old puppy so it probably wasn't easy to groom him.
