This is a review for the dog side of the cafe. First of all, it is really nice to be able to bring the doggie inside. I mean, that's basically the whole reason I came here in the first place. I had a chai latte and later a drip coffee and they were both tasty. The barista was pleasant. The wifi was fast. Yay, coffee shop. BUT when I went over to the non-dog side to go to the bathroom, I was somewhat dismayed. It was way warmer (why is it a refrigerator on the dog side?) and more pleasantly lit. The dog side does have a bunch of cute dog pictures, which I enjoyed, but seriously--can we get some pleasant lamps instead of fluorescent lights? and a space heater up in there or something? read more

This place is good, just the parking is kind of bad, I had to park on the street and I was with my dog (they have bike parking available). The first time I went into Bark espresso, I was greeted with a sunny smile and a cheerful hello and every time since it has been exactly the same. The staff is friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and enjoyable. Often that friendly interaction first thing in the morning is all that you need to get your day started off on the right foot. The coffee is strong extremely potent with caffeine they serve macarina baked goods as well as local bagels. Though I haven't tried their sandwiches, I am sure that they will be delicious. I LOVE this cafe. I used to walk by every day on my way to the bus stop, and decided to go in one day after work on my way home. I'm so glad I did! This place has a variety of gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options available, as well as the tastiest (non-vegan) ham and cheese scone and caramel apple pull apart I've ever eaten. I'd been excited to visit this cafe for a while, mainly because I've been having a hard time finding dog-friendly coffee shops in the area, and looked forward to trying the first spot I found. That being said, there were pros and cons that have been mentioned in other reviews that I'd like to mention as well. Pros - I went for a sweet chai latte and was not disappointed with the taste at all, it was one of the better chais I've had while in Seattle. I was a little disheartened that, as mentioned in other reviews, my latte did not have any latte art and it was definitely something I was looking forward to. I also tried their pesto breakfast sandwich - which I definitely recommend, as it was tasty, not too big, but also pretty filling. Cons - I have to agree with other reviewers when they mention the vast difference between the dog-friendly zone and regular cafe area. The furniture did seem old and the vibe wasn't as nice as it was in the other room. However, I noticed the business owner has already address that they are remodeling the dog-friendly section, so I look forward to seeing the final result! I finally found a nice little hidden gem not far from work. I'm growing weary of Starbucks. I've been to Kaffeeklatsch Seattle, up the street, a few times, but they are often very busy, and it can be hard to find a place to sit. The location is great, and parking is pretty easy. This place is way more than I expected- it's a great place to spend a rainy afternoon with your pup! The attached store has lots of treats and toys, so you can grab one for the dog before grabbing lunch for yourself. The menu is larger than an average coffee shop- in addition to all different drinks, they have burritos, sandwiches, and Blazin Bagels. The burrito is vegetarian, which is a huge plus for me! And the cost can't be beat. I fed myself and my dog for $7 :) Once you have your food, There are two cafe areas- one set up fully with tables, and one that is more open for dog's to roam a bit. (That area has two tables, and then a sofa and a nice chair. Perfect place to do some reading and give the pup a chance to explore!) Today was my first visit here, and the staff was so nice. While we have been to Bark! A handful of times and enjoyed ourselves, yesterday was quiet the experience. Two young baristas and the owner were in, at about 10am. Myself and my friend walked through the door and both ordered coffee and a sandwich, there was an interaction between the two baristas that made the air very awkward. That was until the owner showed up. The gal was making our two coffees when two other people walked through the door and the owner stood right behind the barista and said "there are other people that would like coffees". It was the worst experience bc the barista wasn't taking that long, coffee takes time. For the owner to not understand that and act like that was incredibly disappointing. The fella behind the counter was immensely courteous and helpful to this lone traveler needing guidance along her way. Without a second thought, he offered app recommendations, let me borrow his power cord for my dying phone, and told me the closest station to get Ubered to so I could reduce my ride cost. He was thoughtful to forewarn me that he'd be cleaning soon, which may have a strong smell, and leaving within a certain timeframe as well. Very courteous, helpful, professional and kind. He also makes a lovely latte. All around, I would highly recommend this quaint cafe and this particular gentleman for whatever his future holds. read more

Best doggy coffee place ever. There are two different entrances. One for four legged friends and the other for two legged. The dog area is really clean and there are tons of comfy places to hang out with your dog. The barista is so friendly. He made me the best sweet chai ever. This clean, spacious site serves Vita in several forms and there's a happy hour on weekdays from 3-7pm. My latte was $1 off, which made *me* want to bark for joy... Bark! offers lunch and snack options, including cookies from local Skydottir, a gluten free baker in the 'hood (hyper-local!). They have hooks out front so you can park your dog while you order your caffeine fix. Also, there are multiple tables outside so you can sit with your friends, furry and non, to enjoy your drinks. Free wi-fi is an added perk. Along with the delicious coffee, I can watch all the doggies coming out of playcare next door. It's the kind of place I'll come back to "sit and stay." read more

Boo. That's not a scary boo. It's not a ghost boo. Hopefully you weren't too frightened. That was an "I'm a little disappointed" boo. Bark has everything that I like. It has nice people. It has an area for dogs. It has food. Overall it's a great place with a lot of potential. But it does need just a little bit of work. Just a little bit. And really, the thing that needs the most work is the macaroni and cheese. The coffee was fine, and the rooms are nice. I would have liked a more obvious sign that there was a dog section and a non-dog section but that's just nitpicking. It's just... the macaroni and cheese... It was just so bad. And I feel bad saying that because the woman that made it was really friendly and kept asking us if we like it and we kept saying yes because we were so floored by how bad it was we felt awful about hating it. It's made with too much ricotta which is a cheese with no flavor, it was too wet for baked mac and cheese and it was completely bland. If you're reading this, Bark, I'm going to give you my macaroni and cheese recipe and I promise you it will be well received, since I am a baked macaroni and cheese expert. In addition, you can make it in advance very easily and it just needs to be warmed up or microwaved to taste great. You can call it "Micah's Mac and Cheese" and you can even keep all the profits, although if your business takes off I would appreciate a little kick back since a guy's gotta make a little cash, you know? Here it is: - Boil noodles until they're softer than al dente but not too soft. You don't want the noodles falling apart. - Use ONLY grated sharp cheddar cheese. - Using a paper towel, spread vegetable oil over the baking dish. - Drop a tiny bit of cheddar cheese on the bottom. - Layer the noodles and cheese. Don't be shy with the cheese either. Remember - it melts, so lots of it is going to end up at the bottom. Make sure you get cheese around the edges. - Mix it a bit with a fork, then squish it down as much as you can. If there's more room, add more noodles and cheese. - Add a final layer of cheese at the top. - Bake at 350 until it starts to burn. This is crucial - it needs to be extremely crispy. Then, when customers come in, just reheat it in a microwave for 1 or 2 minutes depending on how cold it is and the microwave. You can bake it too but that takes a while. I guarantee you that it will be loved by everyone. I'm sorry I didn't like your mac and cheese. I'm also sorry that I told you it was good. But I think you have a lot of potential here, and I hope to like you guys a lot more if I go back. read more

Just moved to a new neighborhood and explored a little bit. I found this doggie friendly cafe. It's about 10 blocks away from where I currently live. I was able to walk over there with my dogs. I don't really drink coffee. They have Chai Tea and good quiche that I really enjoyed. One side of the cafe is a room where you can hang out with your dogs while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. There's couch and a couple tables. I think it's really nice to hang out with my dogs outside of our apartment. read more

With dog portraits on the wall! I like it--Gizmo and I went before we went to the DOG PARK! They even had Rice milk lattes! How Seattle can it be? Back before I had to stop dairy products when I would put down alternative milks, I never DREAMED I would be ordering something made with Rice Dream--Well I did, and it was delicious. (OK Rice Dream is thin and blue and a poor substitute for 1/2 and 1/2, but it doesn't give you stomach cramps, gas and diarrhea...believe me after too many of those incidents, Almond, Hemp and Rice milks taste pretty damn good...) This is a review for the dog side. To start off, I loved the idea. I loved that I could enjoy coffee with a friend while not having to leave my pooch at home. Next time though I'm just going to go to another coffee shop and leave the pup at home. The dog side is WAY different than the "non dog side". The tables were older, it looked a little dirty, it was very small and the only contact you have with the employees is a small window. It's a nice place if you just want a coffee and read a book with your dog, but if you want a "nice brunch" feel for breakfast, I would go elsewhere. Recommendations to make the place better: -better looking menu/let us know what the pasties are on the other side - I was excited for coffee art since I read about it, didn't get that on the doggie side. - update paint -better set up so people can talk with friends and not be right next to someone else. Breakin' it down: It's good 'cause: The drinks are made with care. I've always been greeted with no huffing and puffing due to the ridiculously customized aspect of my drink orders. I enjoy catching up with the baristas here. The windows bring a brightness to the inside of the cafe. This is great for Seattle's dingy weather. I LOVE SEEING THE DOGS! Dog fans, rejoice! "Health code standards" and appallingly rude baristas. I've been here before but will never come back. Went to chill in the lounge area (the one where dogs are allowed) to meet up with someone and work on homework while getting my tires changed. I bought a breakfast on the way here because I haven't eaten anything yet, it's past noon, and I have allergies coffee shops like this one don't usually provide alternative options for. Thought I'd get all cozy, eat my breakfast, drink my tea, work on homework..But no. Employee sticks his head through the window to tell me I can't have outside food because it's a health code violation and I must keep my food box closed. Maybe that's true, but there are ANTS (yes, little black ANTS) crawling around the tile floor. You tell me, which is the bigger health code violation? So now I'm hungry, can't eat what would have been my first meal of the day, and have to shoo the ants away from my belongings while I wait. Screw this place and their health code "standards". I should mention that employees come in for lunch breaks and eat their outside food in here regularly. Hypocrisy at it's finest. Before all of this was my "encounter" with the barista. Barista was extremely rude, like I was a huge burden to her, when I asked what the WiFi was. It's like they don't want you coming up to the order window from this side of the cafe. She barely looked at me except to scowl and did not even try to feign politeness. All I asked for was the WiFi!!! Absolutely ridiculous. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

It's a lovely place for both people and dogs. I wish I found this place earlier! I brought my little dachshund puppy in today and we stayed in the dog friendly room. I was the only human being and she was the only dog at that time so I was allowed to offleash her. I really like the pet store next to it so I was looking forward to checking this place out since it was "pet-friendly". I went in with my dog and was impressed by the pleasant atmosphere in the café. Nice music, great lighting. It seemed really nice. Unfortunately, that was not the pet-friendly part of the place. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and latté and proceeded to the other side where I could eat with my puppy. It was a little disappointing to say the least. Ambiance is completely different, it feels like a timeout place coz you have a dog with you. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy eating my food in there.
