My order took about 10 minutes but the wait was worth it. The original Yuppi Wings were hot, crispy and succulent. I'm sure the crunch shook the ground. The wings didn't make it home as I couldn't stop crunching. The Mac and cheese was so hot and delicious that I had to take my time and eat it at home. Definitely a must try spot in Tampa Bay.

Basically it's your local corner store split with this wing establishment sharing the same space. It's in the middle of Ybor city #IYKYK that Ybor is a mixed crowd with chickens and roosters all over. I put in my order a 15 minute wait, no seating you have a choice of taking it home or some of the local bars let you bring your own food in. I end up ordering the popular wings with the yuppi sauce mixed in. Wasn't impressed, no seasoning no flavor unless you order the sauces, which Basically that is your seasoning. I will say the wings were cooked well. This is why I don't follow the hype. The hype up will get you a seasonal hype but then it's over like that. This establishment can try seasoning so you won't need the sauce as the lead of there wings. But from what I saw I give this establishment another 2 years till the next hype comes in. The corner store gimmick will soon be over.

We originally planned on bringing some family here for their anniversary but that plan feel through so we made it into a friends catch up dinner. Right off the back LOVED our server Nimah. She was funny, helpful, and attentive. And they are on top of refilling your water so you will never go thirsty. I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't have much to say on that matter. The ambiance was nice. A lot of eclectic paintings on the walls. And loved the outfits of the servers. Very 20's speakeasy. There is a live jazz band that started performing at 7 pm. They were good but at some points it was a bit difficult to speak and listen to those at your table unless you got really close. My meal hit the spot. We started with a charcuterie board for the table. It had a lot of great options like dried apricots, actual honeycomb pieces, and my most favorite cheese, some Brie cheese. The only thing was there was only 4 pieces of bread, one for each of us, which wasn't enough but I guess it made sense not to fill us up too much. For my main meal I had the sweet potato salad which was very tasty and the sweet potato risotto, which a little spicy kick. The only thing I missed was the Brussels sprouts and potatoes but was told that was from the previous chef. But they serve you enough so you definitely will have left overs. Not a big fan of eating in the lounge areas, those are best just for drinks and maybe desserts. But it's definitely a great place to people watch. You will definitely have a meal and a show no matter what. Hopefully can schedule another time to bring my family because I know they would love it.

Our waiter was sweet and helpful with deciding on what sweet bfast to order. We ended up ordering the lemon ricotta pancakes. That was delicious and not too sweet. The lemon ricotta was nice and tangy with good big strawberries. The savory dish we ordered was the quesabirra hash- 10/10 must get! It was on the seasonal menu- but they need to consider keeping it full time because it knocked it out of park. The meat was nicely seasoned and the potatoes were coated in the yummy sauce. I also ordered the mint mocha ice coffee, initially it was very sweet- tasted more like a mint chocolate milk. But after having the savory dish, it was the great way to end the breakfast- so not to bad after all. We cleared both plates. Would come back again!!

Each bite and each sip top the last. We shared several dishes. The Tater Tot Waffle was easily the best bite, it was crispy, rich, and perfectly balanced and the caviar add on is a must. Finished off a great meal with an Edition Danish topped with a perfectly balanced lemon curd. The food was paired with a couple fantastic cocktails, the Strawberry Shortcake, that tasted exactly like my favorite spring time dessert and a BFE-Tini. Rooster is always a great experience, the vibes are always great thanks to DJ Mike Blenda and the service is always perfection every time. This is one of my favorite restaurants for a reason. Shan herself has been grooming for many years and is the best to teach her staff regarding each dog, because every breeds coat is not the same, requiring a different cut for each dog...not every groomer acknowledges this fact. Our dog has been coming to Yuppy Puppy for over 7 years and will continue to do so for as long as I can imagine! We have gone to The Yuppy Puppy for over 8 years, since the original owner , Veronica, opened it…read moreand then the grooming academy associated with it. We have always been satisfied with the work they have done and the charge was fair for the services rendered. There has been new ownership for at least three years and we have continued to take both of our dogs there about 6 - 8 times per year. While I would consider us loyal , regular customers apparantly the new owner , Shan, apparantley doesnt think so based on the below listed incident. Two weeks ago we took both dogs, Missy and Roscoe, to be groomed and as usual the owner called after three or four hours to inform me that they were ready for pickup. I called a short time later and informed the owner when i expected to be there. When I arrived i spoke briefly with the owner and as usual asked how they behaved and was every thing done that was requested? She informed me that it was and they behaved well. This conversation and payment took approximately five minutes , was not rushed , and required that the owner consult the card on our dogs. Later that evening as I was rubbing the smaller dog I felt a gash in her collar area. Upon closeer examination I noticed an inch long gash and open wound in her neck area. The slice was such that only a scissor or razor could create such a clean straight cut. Obviously she had been cut while being groomed and I had to assume that it hadnt been noticed or brought to the attention of the owner by the groomer. We called the emergency Vet and he informed us to clean it and go to our local Vet immediately the next day. In the morning I called Yuppy Puppy and informed the woman who answered ( thus alerting the owner of course) of the situation and she informed me that the owner had not arrived yet. I called back a short time later and the owner immediately went the offensive informing me that Missy had the gash prior to coming in and that the Student who was grooming her ( another surpise of course) brought it to her attention prior to doing the grooming. Yet they went ahead and washed , cut and groomed her despite a gaping wound ( actually one large and two smaller gashes) and never thought to inform us before doing the grooming, during the two telephone conversations regarding picking up the dogs or during the lengthy conversation upon picking them up and paying for the groomings. When I informed her that as a professional person and us as long term customers I would expect she would take responsibility for their actions. She became extremely aggressive and said she would not accept that responsiblity , authorized the Student to proceed with the grooming despite the wounds and saw no reason to inform me on either phone conversation or when picking up the dogs. This is a woman who trains future groomers who will have collectively thousands of dogs in their care over their careers! This is the example she sets for them and this is the way she acts towards a long standing good customer!! The fact that she saw no reason to inform us before or after the grooming that the dog had an injury that we were told by our Vet could have infected and festered very easily is outrageous. If you dare put your animals in the hands of this woman I would forewarn you that she should certainly not be licensed for this service, should never be allowed to run a teaching academy and definitely should not be running a business. I will do all I can to insure no one else or their animals are subjected to this treatment. Stay away from The Yuppy Puppy for your animals sake. I only give one star due to the system.
