Had brunch here with some girlfriends on a Saturday - brunch time in Hyde park, on the weekend, does not bode well for parking - just a heads up for those who may be unfamiliar with the Hyde park area. There are a few parking garages, but even those are a pain because people park like idiots. The parking situation isn't On Swann's fault, but it's an annoying factor. We had reservations well in advance, so we didn't have to worry about a wait. It was reasonably busy for a Saturday at brunch time. The decor and overall ambiance was classy but comfortable, which is great imo. Our server was nice and checked on us a good amount of times. The wait time between ordering our food and it coming to the table felt a bit lengthier than I would typically expect, but the food was delicious so it's hard to even complain about that. I got the short rib hash and a croissant and both items were wonderful. The croissant was flaky and buttery, it comes with a honey dip and butter on the side, would def get again. The short rib hash was also a menu item I would order again - the eggs were cooked perfectly, and I'd say I'm a little picky with how runny my eggs are. These were runny, but not TOO runny. The potatoes had a nice crisp to the outside but nice and soft on the inside, the short rib was so tender, so juicy, it was just a very well rounded, great tasting hash. This was my first time visiting On Swann for brunch, I'll be back for sure, but maybe on a weekday instead of the weekend since it seems to get pretty crowded in the Hyde Park Village area! read more

On Swann consistently came up as a top restaurant choice in all the social media posts I've seen so we finally made it here and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is charming and upbeat with indoor and outdoor seating. We had a reservation and were seating promptly. Our server Kristin was very friendly, attentive and did a fantastic job. The cocktails were great. We ordered the saffron arancini and it was very good. For dinner we had the scallops with Brussel sprouts and the steak frites, the presentation was amazing and both were delicious. Connor was my waiter and he was friendly and attentive. Check on my table frequently and knew the menu well as he recommended a few options. Came back here again but for Mother's Day brunch. We had an amazing visit as usual. However I was super bummed that the menu no longer offers the fried green tomatoes, as those were my favorite here. This time I ordered the smoked Salmon and it was delicious. I had a few bites of the cinnamon roll, which was still amazing. I looked over at my dad's plate which was the short rib hash, and it did not look that great. It was very minimal looking. I tried the famous kale salad and it was bland. The ambiance is perfect, especially for date nights. Modern and classy feeling, perfect for the South Tampa vibe. Another stellar nite of eats at On Swann. We came here to celebrate my dear friends birthday. Our server Priscilla helped guide us through the menu with her recommendations. She was awesome, loved her energy. Side note: their menu changes according to the seasons. We had the opportunity to try the Fall menu. My faves were Zeppole with the amazing dipping sauces, Kale Salad, Lamb meatballs with the melt in mouth grits, Arancini balls (wow) and of course the dessert board ( we went for Bread pudding,decadent chocolate cake and cobbler). We love coming to On Swann!! We enjoyed a little Saturday night date night at this quaint spot in Hyde Park. We booked a table for 5pm and by the time we left at 7, there wasn't a seat left in the house (including outside seating). We started with a bottle of Pinot from Ken Wright Willamette Valley (US's hidden gem for vineyards). So good. We enjoyed our fav apps--Pimento Cheese and the kale salad. For our entrees we enjoyed the Grouper with rice and vegetables and the scallops with cauliflower puree. Shoutout to all the servers. This place was excellent! Would definitely recommend a reservation as we came for a work dinner with 10 people on a Wednesday and the place was packed (we did have a reservation). Restaurant itself is nicely spaced, also have outdoor seating with fire heaters. Bathroom was clean. The food was fantastic. Of course I did not get pictures of everything but I did get pics of my short rib pasta which was very tasty. We also got a dessert board for our bosses birthday and the cookies were warm and yummy. I mean I don't even know where to start. I love this place to much I was visiting from California and I came here twice all my friends I brought enjoyed everything. My favorite was the hummus platter however they do change their menu often for the seasons but the capper berries was such a nice touch. The burger was juicy and delicious. It also has very nice outdoor dining. The menu covers just about any dish one might want and the foot is very good. I had the seared scallops that were done to perfection and uniquely served with a delicious pomegranate sauce on a bead of spinach. My partner had a hanger steak that he really liked. Everything felt very intentional from the custom "Happy Birthday" menus to the amazing customer service. We came here celebrating our 10th anniversary. They printed out a menu with "Happy Anniversary" on top, which was a nice touch. We also got these little spoons of some sort of plantain taster... I don't remember the details but it was one of the best bites of food we had. Really awesome start to our meal. We tried the saffron arancini, which were nice and crisp on the outside and the sauce was delicious with it. The hot honey chicken was so excellent - definitely a must get! I tried the pork chops which had a great tasting crust and sweet soft apples. The cabbage was vinegary and just fresh. But the cheesy grits were just over the top - so good! Amazing texture for grits. My husband got the steak frites, which he found enjoyable. Our server was excellent, checking on us and I noticed she fixed an error when they were about to bring out the wrong item before it even came to us. I ordered the Pan Roasted Grouper which was placed on top of rice pilaf in a lemon basil butter sauce. It was cooked at a perfect temperature. The rice in the lemon butter sauce was delicious. I get it without the bacon to make it vegetarian, but this tower of kale and pecans and Parmesan along with some other yummy surprises satisfies every time. On Swann is a very open restaurant that makes you feel fresh and comfortable. They play very upbeat music at a low volume that I enjoyed. It's in a Hyde park strip of very nice stores so after eating you can always have a good time. Because I came on Easter parking was very hard but usually it should be easy to find a spot! The food was set neatly and the servers came to clean very often. I got the BLT and it was very flavorful only downside was the bread was very greasy, it took away the healthy fresh feeling of the sandwich. Located in the lovely Hyde Park Village in the Southside of Tampa, On Swann is a class restaurant that is both hip and full of delicious cooking, bringing us to a place of nirvana and Zen. The design comprises both high ceilings in some areas, but more down-to-earth intimacy, such as with the lounge seating, which looked very cool. From the initial cocktails, I was impressed with their delivery and presentation, such as the Umami Blanc. The tequila-based cocktail included Derrumbes Durango, Green Chartreuse, Miso Agave, and Coconut Milk with Lime and Coconut Water Saline Foam on top. For starters, they served us a complimentary deconstructed shakahuka, made gluten-free in honor of my wife's birthday, which was delectable. For starters, we split the Beef Carpaccio arugula that was magical with the aji amarillo aioli, parmesan, and truffle oil. The Hot Chicken crisp tenders were absolutely stellar with the spicy buttermilk batter and paprika honey butter and romesco aioli. Personally, I could have just ordered the Beef Carpaccio and the Hot Chicken crispy tenders. That completely satisfied me to the point where I had to take the Pork chop back home after attempting to make a dent in it, as I was already full. But make no mistake, the double chop Pork Chop was blissful between pairing with the peach mostrada and Anson Mills cheddar grits. It was made with magic and mystical wonderment.
