When we asked them a simple question they gave snarky remark, and they proceeded to ask if one of us was 18 and my friend said they were, but she replied "that wasn't the question" in a rude tone.

I was so angry and then they charged me. The manager said if they have knots that they have to cut all the hair for the safety of the dog, I didn't know that having some knots is dangerous for a dog. They take the short way around, instead of either cutting some of the knots or even putting a conditioner on the knot and letting it soak in the conditioner. I will never take my dog to PetSmart grooming ever again. I have taken her to other groomers before and never was told they had to cut it short if she had knots. They made me look like the bad guy. We brush her every other day, but she needed a cut already so decided to take her here again (second time we take her) and now I am so upset what they did. They did give me 50% off the service, but the manager said for the inconvenience, this wasn't and inconvenience it was carelessness.

This is a nice county animal shelter…read more I am a huge animal rescue fan. I rescued my dog from a high kill shelter in Los Angeles. I rescued my cats from the HCPRC. Right now, they limit how many people can enter the facility. If you are looking for a pet, it's better to make an appointment rather than just show up, or you might be hanging out in the central Florida weather until it's your turn to enter. Making an appointment ahead of time also helps you figure out if the animal that you're interested in is a boarder or foster, because the fosters are not on site, so you need to coordinate with the foster parent for a viewing. I found that the facilities are clean, and they take reasonable care of their animals despite over crowding and budget issues. I like that there is a foster program to help with overcrowding. They have a huge number of pitbulls here that are long-term residents. They have a program to include some dog training classes for people who adopt these pits to encourage people to feel more confident adopting these smart dogs that have horrible reputations. Yes, they do euthanize here. The sad truth is that not every animal is going to be adoptable. Also, the "no kill" shelters often transfer their unadoptable animals to the high kill shelters, so take a shelter's claims with a grain of salt. The way to reduce these issues at county shelters is to work to encourage people to spay and neuter their pets and discourage backyard breeders and pet stores that buy from puppy mills.

I had never adopted a pet from a facility such as this and my only regret is that I had never done so. I highly recommend considering this facility if you're looking for a pet. I have no regrets!
