Really great service, got in quickly and staff was very helpful. I took my GSD after taking my poodle puppy for her first cut. My GSD was shedding so bad, it was the worst I've ever seen. They groomed her and after a handful of days of loose hair coming out she finally is finished blowing her coat out. I spent weeks before brushing her almost daily with no end in sight. I'm so pleased and will be taking my dogs here from now on. read more

Beware** I have taken both my dogs here a couple times and overlooked razor Burns and missed nails things like that but the pictures below will show you what my dogs stomach look like an hour after being groomed they used a new deodorizer and she was highly allergic to it which they denied. I took my sweetie to the vet which said it was an extreme allergic chemical burn. After a $110 vet bill and a steroid shot we are hopefully getting better a week later. So if you go here please ask them if your dog has allergies NOT to use the deodorizer. We called them to let them know and it would of been great if they were just truthful. I have an immune disorder I would have noticed deodorizer any other visit. read more

I took my 6 month old shih tzu, Poppins, to Bargain Barks and am 100% satisfied with their efficiency, facility AND hair cut of our little girl. The groomer asked questions on what I was looking for and followed my instructions exactly. I was called promptly when she was almost ready. There are no kennel/cages and she had a little play area while waiting for me. Since I am dogsitting for a friend, I asked if Lolly could be squeezed in for a bath. They complied. The girls and I am very happy and have found a new groomer! Heads Up: they accept cash only. With the $35 cost, stopping at the bank first was well worth it. read more

I have an issue with Bargain Barks and their Groupon. My husband went in today with our Westie with the Groupon. The experience wasn't good. It had been a year or so since my dog was groomed there as we usually go to another grooming business. Now, on the Groupon it lists in fine print "For first time customers only" I admit when I purchased it, I did not read the "fine print" and so my husband was informed they would not accept the Groupon. Online chat with Groupon's customer service did not resolve the issue either. Upon reading others reviews who have had issues with this groomer, I am not going to gift the Groupon to anyone, including other family members as it wouldn't be a good idea. The young lady was rude to my husband, yet my husband wasn't rude to her. They apparently don't like their jobs or grooming people's beloved pets. read more

The first time I brought my dog here, it wasn't even my dog, but a stray my husband rescued from the streets. I'd never dealt with a long haired dog, never had experience with groomers, was completely clueless in this department. I called Bargain Barks in a panic because the day after my husband found this dog we were set to leave town and I didn't want to leave the pet sitter with a frightened, dirty mop. I tried to describe the dog over the phone as best I could, but "long hair", "very dirty" were my only vocabulary words at that time. I don't think the poor groomers were expecting to get a matted, greasy, dirty mop dropped off for a shave. They were very kind and understanding (might've been my deer in headlights "please take this thing" look) and worked incredible magic on this dog. When I brought her home, my husband joked and said they probably gave up on the mop and just replaced it with a new dog. I also realized the dog had been covered in ticks. I had no idea--I never would have taken her had I known, but they must have been hiding under the matted fur. Only little bites remained, but the groomers didn't glare, complain, or hate on me for dropping this mess on them. They gave me all kinds of helpful info and contacts for vets, spay and neuter, etc. and I don't even think they charged me extra to remove the matted fur, though normally they do. Since then, I've been "stuck" with this pooch and won't take her anywhere else because they always do an awesome job. read more

We took our 2 small dogs in today and paid more than I pay to cut my hair. The place was really clean but they did a terrible job. I asked them to cut them short but they butchered our dogs. The cut is so uneven. There are spots where the razor obviously got away from her and spots where it completely missed all together. I am not a groomer so I asked the professionals to cut the dogs like normal dogs of their breeds, this is what I do when I go to any groomer. Apparently this was a stupid question to ask a discount groomer. We will never go there again. It will take months for my poor dogs to look normal again. She even shaved the eyebrows down to the bone on my terrier.... looks awful. Dont do this to your poor pets. It is not worth the 20.00 that we saved. read more

It's ok but I wouldn't pay their regular prices as its only about $12 less than me taking my dog to a full service place. I used a groupon for my mini Aussie and just because he's an Aussie they bumped up his price to the $50 bracket. He's a mini. There's a several pound difference. They don't have a receptionist it's just two groomers. I arrived a little early and they seemed bothered I was there. Then I was told that if my dog couldn't stay still they couldn't groom him. I was getting a lot of shaky first impression vibes. I said he would be fine once I left. I did and they called an hour or so later saying he was done. His cut was uneven. I would expect it a little but this was evident. Also they are a cash only operation. Bargain barks is not that much of a bargain and if you're looking for impressive grooming it's not here. read more

This place is our true gem of a find. We found these groomers 3 yrs ago when we lived by them at 51 & Bell. We have since moved across the city and about an hour away. We STILL take our dogs here because they do such a good job with them both. We have Border Collie/Aussie mixes so they have some hair to work with. Every time our dogs come back looking great and smelling fantastic. They have a play area for our dogs to run around when they aren't on the groomers table. Our dogs enjoy it there during these visits. The staff is great. We can't say enough about these groomers. Highly recommend them. read more

Allison at Bargain barks is wonderful to my Chloe she does a great job every time I bring her here. My Chloe is a Burmese mountain dog sometimes hard to handle Allison doesn't complain she handles her quite well. Very reasonable I have to say the best I've seen so far. If I had to summarize this place with one phrase it would be resting bitch face in action. I brought my pets here a couple of times and the staff's bitchiness irritated me, but the price was right so I ignored it and hoped they were just rude to me because they had to focus all of their nice energy on taking care of my pups. The first cut was good, but they told me a pick-up time and when I showed up they yelled at me for showing up too early (I actually showed up 30 minutes late, but they didn't care). They then told me not to show up before they call me. Again, it was irritating getting yelled at by someone I'm paying to complete a service for me when they mess up the time, but I forgot about it when I saw how cute my dogs looked at the corrected pick up time. This last time time I went, I dropped off my dogs and told them the same cut as usual (they write it down on your card along with how much you should be charged and normally tip). I didn't get a call all day and their hours ended in 10 minutes so I was getting concerned. I make sure to call rather than just showing up (learned my lesson last time...) and they say about 20 or so more minutes. I live 1 block away so I go home and wait for my ready call. I call them 30 minutes later after not hearing back and get berated about how they gave me a pick up time and I should have been their 10 minutes ago. I'm a 2-3 minute drive away so I tell them that and head over. They are terribly rude and rush me out acting like I am personally ruining their day despite the fact that there are about 10 other dogs still there. When I get home I notice the dogs look awful! The cuts are visibly uneven and one of their eyebrows is missing completely (you could see her skin). They also completely missed shaving one's face. They are closed and not open the next day or day after so I realize I'm going to have to fix it myself. Lucky for me, I have a shaving kit and I grew up with this breed so I've done the cut several times. I pulled out the buzzer and was able to fix it, but it took about 2 months for the eyebrow to grow back and an hour to even out everything that they messed up. Needless to say I'm done with this place and whenever anyone brings up groomers I make sure to warn them about Bargain Barks. This place reminded me that price shopping doesn't always work out. Everyone's time is worth money and for the amount of time I had to spend fixing their haircuts, I could have paid a high end groomer to do the service and they would have taken pride in their work. At this place, the quality of service is not worth the bargain. read more

I've taken my dog here a few times, they take literally all day to trim your dog, dropped him off at 10a and picked up at 4p. They also have him a big cut on his leg which is bothering him. Terrible place and a danger to the dogs that you drop off to them. read more

Alison does a great job whenever I bring in my cat or dog! My cat gets groomed like a lion and she does an amazing job! My cat can be crazy and has even scratched Alison on the face (sorry!) and she still takes her no problem! I highly recommend! read more

Horrible! I took my dog in there and told them specifically a regular cut, NOT lion cut! I came back and my dog was shaved all the way up to her chin / forehead. They usually leave enough hair on top to put a bow in it, but there was literally no hair. Her ears were choppy and not even, and her tail was 3 inches shorter. I didn't even reconize my dog when she came out! All the hair is uneven and not blended. Definitley not coming back. Also their sign clearly says that every cut is only 35, but mine came out to 45, for a terrible job. read more

I should have walked out right after I walked in, but I decide to not be too quick to judge. Next time I will listen to that little voice. My doodle got the ugliest trim ever and is unlike any other combination of tail, face and body I have ever seen. I am quite certain there is a major lack of experience, coupled with lack of caring. The lady answered my questions about what they include in their grooming session, as if she resented me asking and found my bringing my dog in a major inconvenience. Took my two miniature schnauzers here and I have nothing but good thing to say! My dogs get a full shave (no schnauzer cut) but do get keep their beards and eyebrows. After a simple explanation, I felt in good hands. And when I came to pick them up, their trim was exactly what I wanted. Is there anything less than poor? This is by far the worst job I have ever seen on any dog ever. My mini aussie was taken in today for a bath and to get her hair trimmed as she is blowing her summer coat. When I saw what they had done to her I was mortified. They claimed that she was too hard to work with so they left her half cut and called it a feather shave. On top of the work not being done they charged full price for a terrible job. Never in my life have I seen a business run this way and PAM had the nerve to try to make me feel bad about complaining about the job being shotty. I beg you to not take your dogs here. I will be going to the BBB and will be posting this complaint wherever I possibly can. They are definitely called Bargain Barks for a reason. The groomer's here are the greatest dog lovers. I wouldn't take my Maggie to anyone else! I know when I drop her off she won't be put in a cage to sit and wait. She is free to roam in the doggie waiting area, which is a great alternative to a cage. She is always groomed quickly and looks beautiful. 2 paws up! read more

I have taken my Australian Shepard here three times. Each and every time that my dog comes home she looks amazing. They always take very good care of her and are always friendly and professional. Their store is very clean every time I walk in there. They even fit my dog in between other appointments if they are busy from time to time. Their prices are very competitive but in my opinion their service is heads and shoulders above many others in the area. read more
