Building or remodeling a pool is one of the larger and more expensive home construction projects one undertakes during their lifetime. The end result is something that you will see everyday for many years. So, it's imperative that you do your due diligence and hopefully select a company that can provide you with a final product that will meet your expectations and one that your family will enjoy for many years. That can be a hard task in these "pandemicolitical" days. To find there are still companies built with an employee base devoted to producing the best possible product for their customers is rare. The chipping crew, the hardscape crew, the tile crew, the surface crew, all of them devoted to producing the best end result they could for my pool. You start to have some doubts on chip day when your fully functional oasis gets turned into a loud raging dust storm of concrete.Then hardscape and tile starts to take shape and at closer inspection you begin to notice the skilled artisans that are working on your pool. Then as more stages are finished, you begin to see how all these different people have excelled at their trades to bring the pool you requested to life. Make no mistake, this is major construction and unforeseen issues can arise but when the pool was finally filled and I got to take my final inspection, there was no doubt. Barefoot Pools delivered. Ok folks... you need to read my post because you simply will not believe this but I swear it's 100% true. I use Barefoot Pools because the fact is my Pool looks brand new each and every day and it's because of them BUT THAT IS NOT the reason for this review. It is because I want to publicly thank Guillermo, my tech. My friend lost a gold chain and we were searching every single room, every place we could because this gold chain was purchased for $3500 and I am still making payments on it. It was a gift to my friend and he was panicking that it was gone. We finally gave up and truth be told, I thought my friend was a bit reckless with such an expensive chain. The other day, on my patio table with a Barefoot Pools card from Guillermo read that he found it outside and knew we would want it back. Holy cow! Who does that nowadays? He could have easily just slipped it in his pocket and we would have never known. If my gardeners would have found it first who knows if I would have seen it again. Turns out the clasp on the chain is broken and it just slipped off his neck when he was outside. Brandon, his supervisor called me... not about this about about an issue they found... which because they have always given me exceptional service, this was the norm for them. Kudos Brandon. If you are worried if these guys are reputable or you have a worry of people coming into your backyard when you are not home, just read the above and ask yourself if you have any doubts in the world that this is the company you should use. I had a great experience with Barefoot Pools. I have a 26,000 gallon deep diving pool. Before deciding to move forward with a plaster removal and new pebble finish for my pool, I spent a lot of time researching different companies, and I'm very glad I chose Barefoot. The price was a little higher than average, but still within the ballpark. The overall experience was excellent, and I am very happy with the outcome. Brandon was incredibly patient through multiple rounds of questions and always took the time to provide thoughtful answers. Shawn was also fantastic, patiently working with me on numerous Baja ledge design options while we stood in the empty pool during the summer heat. Where to start on this one? Well my wife and I called around to many companies to get quotes on a full remodel of our pool, most of them would skip a few things to keep us in the budget but it all felt rushed and we had no confidence till Brandon with Barefoot arrived! Brandon was amazingly informative with what options we could take and what needed to be done and what could wait. He was extremely patient at their design center while my wife juggled different options of tile and Travertine for our deck. Once everything was set to go Shawn, our project manager, kept us informed and in the loop for scheduling. His crew were true artisans! They demoed our pool in record time, replaced our old pump, and then laid everything out beautifully! Jeff, was our main Tech who kept things fun and educational with each step he inspected as the pool finished. Jeff and Shawn were never afraid to answer questions and ALWAYS got back to us the same day. Considering the amount of other projects they were running I was amazed with attentive they both were! My wife and I couldn't be happier with our pool, we had just bought our home and it was not well taken care of. Just got my pool resurfaced by Barefoot pools and the only thing I regretted is that I didn't hire them sooner. My old pebble tec was maybe 20+ something years old and I kept on holding off on the resurface cause I thought it was gonna be too costly but the longer you wait, the more problems it creates so I decided to finally do it . I called 5 other pool remodeling companies to give me a quote. They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive but I thought the price was pretty fair. And they offer a lot of things that are standard that other companies didn't offer like step markers, pebble radiant fusion, led lights etc. They were also the only company that talked to me about doing basecrete which I thought I needed badly since there were so many rebars showing through since the pool is pretty old. Every single tech did an amazing job starting from Chad, Sean, Jeff, Steven and everyone that worked on the remodel ( I didn't get everyone's name) but they were all very professional and good at communicating and showed up when they said they would. They also made sure after the resurface was done that everything is clean and that the water chemistry is balanced and there aren't any stains on the surface. I went from going in my pool maybe just 5x a year to swimming almost everyday after it was remodeled. read more

Barefoot Pools just completed a remodel of our 25 year old pool in the Ahwatukee Custom Estates neighborhood. Chad showed up on time for the initial estimate and when he left I had the complete quote with a number of options I requested to review. I visited their new store, met with Jose, and after discussing the project decided to schedule the work. Our scope was to demo plaster, install new quartz plaster, edge and step tile, diving board, light, and general fittings replaced. Even though we started this during Barefoot's busy season, the work was done when they said it would be and even allowed extra time for us to choose tile. (tile selection was the hardest part of this process) Jose was good about communication throughout the project and was always there to answer my questions. The crew was quick and did a good job of cleaning up after. Jose visited the project a few times and spend as much time as I needed getting it started back up and explaining what I needed to do in the next few weeks. I would definitely hire Jose, and his team, again and recommend them to others needing pool work. I recently had my pool resurfaced by Barefoot Pools. I have had numerous home improvement projects done over the past 25 years I've lived here and this clearly was the most pleasurable experience of them all. As I scoured the reviews, one company kept coming up the best in the area - Barefoot Pools. I scheduled them for an estimate. Brandon, the sales rep, was friendly, warm, and engaging as we discussed my requirements. No up selling or pressure to select them over the competition. I was provided with a reasonable and fair estimate the next day and accepted the offer. I then selected my tile and surface with input from Brandon. All dates were met to chip out the old surface, repair rebar, install new filter, spray a base coating, install tile, and finally shoot the micro pebble surface. The project managers, Shawn and Jeff were in constant contact and communication and answered my calls in one day. The entire project lasted about 6 weeks. After work was completed, Shawn scheduled a two-hour orientation to review my pool operation and maintenance. Barefoot Pools was always just a phone call away. Jeremy and Lynne came over on a saturday morning for powerwash, acid wash and filter cleaning. Since I emptied the pool a day before, it was easy for him to get right into the business. After setting up the power machine and acid stuff, Jeremy meticulously started cleaning the walls with the power hose and the acid. The cleaning process is so tiresome that it took almost good 2-3 hours to clean a 10K gallon size pool with the spa. He then jumped to the DEfilter and noticed issues with the grid and suggested that I replace them as they were completely worn out. Instead of buying the grid from him, I went to the pool store down the corner and got the hayward brand. I did not save any money at all. I realized that I spent more money buying it from a store instead of getting it replaced from him. After cleaning the filter and the pool, Jeremy gave me the startup chemicals instructions and the DE power for after pool fill up. I am very much impressed with both Jeremy and Lynne for showing up on time and getting the job done. Earlier this month we got hit with the flood on South Mountain big time. At one point during the deluge our pool disappeared completely under muddy flood water! And this only months after we had Barefoot completely refurbish the pool - brand new acrylic decking, acid wash, equipment repair - everything. I emailed Jose later that evening with the details of what had happened with the flood. At 7AM the next morning I received an answer - Chad would be contacting me to oversee the repair work. Chad phoned and Barefoot was at our home beginning work that very day. Rather than continue on with details of the rescue work that was performed, I simply would like to thank Jeremy and Lynn for doing work way above what was required, Juan and Milton for fine work and amazing knowledge, Chad for quick and constant attention in an extraordinary situation, and Jose for assembling a great team of professionals. Took 3 months for Barefoot Pool to come out for estimate but it was well worth it! It only took 5 weeks to complete project. From the start Brandon was so friendly and very helpful with answering any questions we had. He was also very helpful at the design center and we are so pleased with the final outcome!! During construction and pool remodeling we dealt with Shawn and occasionally Jose (the owner), both very involved with project entire time overseeing to ensure we were satisfied with job being done. Shawn was the main project manager (very friendly, honest, and upfront) and who we communicated mostly with. He was the Best!! Towards the end we communicated with Chad while Shawn was on vacation. Chad was very friendly and kept us informed of last steps, plus sat down with us to go over invoice and process for our newly remodeled pool and maintenance. Although Shawn had already provided us with a detailed email with every step of the project of how and when things would occur and what we needed to do. Barefoot Pools is fantastic. Our pool was starting to turn green with our previous pool company so my wife called Barefoot Pools and within 15 minutes Jose, the owner, was at our house. He was able to quickly get our pool back in order and it has looked great ever since. Jeremy and Lynn do our weekly service and they are absolutely wonderful. They are friendly and courteous, and do a great job of maintaining the pool and equipment. Jeremy also does a great job of keeping me informed of any issues that arise so we can address them before they become bigger problems. With our previous pool company it seemed like our equipment was always breaking down and needing to be replaced, and even then it still didn't seem to work right. With Barefoot pools we have never had that problem. On the rare occasion when something has broken they have replaced it and things have worked great afterwards. I highly recommend Barefoot Pools. All the employees (and the owner) are friendly and very knowledgable. I am extremely happy with my new pool! Barefoot did a complete remodel and upgrade: Filter, pump, above ground pluming and valves, surface and tile. Everything turned out so well! First Chad came out to take measurements and do the quote. He is extremely knowledgeable about all their products and services and was able to give me all the options that made sense for my pool. And after the equipment install (which was extremely fast and professionally done) he came out to give an orientation on the new equipment. The pool resurfacing and re-tiling was done next. And each time the crews came out to perform each stage of the operation, they were very professional and efficient and friendly. Jose came out before the resurfacing to do an inspection and to let me know what was happening next. Then after the surface and tiling, and fill and start up chemicals he came out again to do a final inspection and orientation. Jose, Chad, Brandon, and the entire team at Barefoot were a pleasure to work with. They completely transformed the old pool we inherited when we bought our home into a brand new oasis that we can't believe is in our own backyard. The crews that came out showed up every day and were very respectful of our property, keeping everything as tidy as possible given the work they were doing. What set them apart the most was the communication. Jose kept us informed of what was done each day and what was upcoming via email. He was always accessible by phone to address any questions and visited the job site regularly to ensure the quality of the work. Very impressive involvement by a business owner. Barefoot isn't going to be the low-cost provider, but the quality of materials and workmanship you get is a value for the price paid. I would rather pay more for this kind of professional service than save a few bucks and wonder if the crew is ever going to show up again after they chip out your pebble. Can't say enough about Barefoot Pools! They took a 1970ish McCormick Ranch pool with UGLY yellow...that is correct yellow tile and made it a beautifully updated 2018-19 pool. From the beginning, everyone I spoke with was professional, friendly, knowledgeable but more importantly they all listened to what I thought my vision was. Chad was helpful and efficient when he came out to take pictures, measurements all while he was preparing the initial estimate. Doug, the store manager was patient and knowledgeable while I was picking out the pool finish, new light and tile. Both Jose, the owner, as well as Shawn my pool project manager came out together so the three of us could decide on the location, depth and height of my new baja bench. Jose stopped by several times and Shawn was here daily. Jose should be proud of his hardworking, polite, friendly workers. Every evening they left the pool area clean. We did an entire pool refinish and replacement of the pump and lighting. Shawn and the team from Barefoot Pools were exemplary. This could not have been any more worry-free. They came to the house for the estimate and then showed us the materials next week, we signed a contract to start on May first and everything went as promised and as scheduled. Their contractors were here on time, did the work, and cleaned up each time. I literally have heard horror stories about other people's pool refinishing so I was skeptical that we would be swimming before the end of summer. After researching 4 different pool remodeling companies, I selected Barefoot to do my remodel. They did a great job from start to finish. Chad came out for the estimate and spent quite a bit of time with me to determine what I wanted and explain my options. He responded quickly to all of my questions and turned the estimate around quickly. Shawn and his team did a great job on the pool and decking. He kept me updated on all steps and scheduling which I appreciated and worked around some scheduling needs I had. In addition to redoing the surface they installed travertine decking, a new filter, light, salt system and in-floor cleaner. Shawn came to inspect each step as it was completed to make sure the team did a thorough & quality job. He was also available and responsive via text and email to any questions/concerns I had. Due to my health we decided to redo our pool and make it handicap accessible. Jose, the owner of Barefoot Pools, was the first pool company we talked with after being referred to him by a friend. After talking to 6 pool companies it was clear that Jose was the only one that listened to our needs. I haven't enjoyed my backyard for a few years until now. Not only does it allow me to be able to get around my deck, in my pool, exercise in my pool, but it also is beautiful. I now go into my backyard all the time. The equipment and materials are top of the line. Jose made this experience the best. He is always there for you to answer any question you have.
