My second time here for a foot massage and it did not disappoint! One of the few local places that offer just a foot massage as a service. My husband and I treated ourselves to an hour foot massage and we both left feeling relaxed. The foot reflexology room is separate from the rest of the spa. The chairs were extremely comfortable, though the sound of the chair covers during the massage was a bit distracting. I do think next time I would bring my headphones though as sound very much carries from the lobby and Route 27. All of the staff were super friendly and personable. Amazing massage by Rina. My first time here and we will be back. Rina knew exactly where my knots were and really worked out the kinks. Ive had far more expensive massages before (Borgata, cruise ships, nyc etc) that weren't as good. I've paid $250 for some massages before tax and tip. So $60 for a full body massage is a completely steal compared to some other spots that I've been to in the past. I don't tip 20% because the base price is way low for the service that they provide. I tip anywhere from $20-$30 depending on how I feel the service was but no less than $20. These people are working the entire time that you're there. Hard physical labor and it deserves more than a 20% of a cheap $60 bill which would be $12. They could increase their prices to $100/session then everyone would be paying $120 after tip. Don't be cheap. Just give these folks $20 for their hard work and consider your $80 massage a steal. I'm second hand embarrassed for those who tip even less than that and then have the galls to complain about the service folks asking for 20%. If you can't afford to tip properly, don't get a service performed. Plain and simple. read more

This was by far the best massage that I've had! This is the first place I went to in which they DID NOT try and sell me anything extra during my services. I went in for a 60 min massage and the lady (Mary Ann - I think) did her thing and allowed me to RELAX. She gave a phenomenal massage and the place was very serene. Absolutely fantastic! I usually come here to get a foot massage but this review would be for a full body massage. My sister and I booked a 90 minute full body combo massage and were put in a room with two tables. Our appointment started promptly. The women barely spoke English but were friendly. The massage itself was a little firmer than I'm used to and actually hurt some parts. I asked to lighten up a few times but she eventually went back to the super firm grip. FYI, The ambiance is not peaceful. You can hear the phone ringing, conversations at the desk, and cars passing by. Not the most relaxing while getting a massage. Overall, the experience was okay. I usually get so relaxed during massages that I fall asleep but not this time at this place. Although the masseuse was super firm with her grip, it got the knots out. This was my second time being here and I was not disappointed. They massaged out my knots right away, the lady found them without me telling her my problem areas. The massage was a little rough but the next day I woke up light and relaxed. It's a really clean place and I found it relaxing. They can often take you as a walk-in but making an appointment helps, especially if you want to go weekends or evenings. Cheap places tend to be smelly. Clean beautiful places tend to be expensive. Barefoot is clean, cheap, and simply our go-to massage place. For the reviewers that complain about the front desk: I don't get it AT ALL. The ladies running the show are hard-working and looking out for their staff. A $10 cash tip is LESS than you'd pay at any other establishment. As a minimum tip, it's completely reasonable. (We usually leave $12-$15 for the hour). I mean, reading these reviews...it's pretty incredible. The front desk ladies are polite and efficient while also looking out for their staff. I paid 20% tip. She demanded more! I asked her to break a $20 note as I did not have any smaller note. She tried to keep another $10 from there; after I paid a 20% tip. I was planning to leave a 15% tip since I was told the room would be mine alone, then in the middle of the massage another client walks in (I'm fully exposed laying there wondering what the heck??) and the 2 masseuses started talking. Massage was good overall, but a little too strong at times. I liked the stretching. So I thought 15% was fine, apparently not. I explained this to the front desk lady, why I was leaving 15%, but she was really rude and said everyone has to leave 20%. After reading several positive reviews, we decided to book a couples massage. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and taken to our massage room. Now, this is not a frilly, bougie massage center. It was clean, private and comfortable, but not fancy. I mean that as a positive because they focus attention on the massage, not the scents in the air and champagne upon arrival. My husband and I had Sue and Rena, both of whom gave us amazing massages. They got straight to our sore spots after confirming we wanted a strong massage and not a relaxing one. We could not have asked for anything more! Rena paid attention to how I moved when she hit sore spots and made sure to revisit and work on those areas until I was feeling much better. They used hot stones and hot towels, which was a nice surprise. We will most certainly be back and have already recommended barefoot massage to two of our friends. Others have said it and we agree.. make sure you tip on the incredible massage...not on a percentage of the cost. I go in for foot message twice. I went in for one full body massage and left feeling really achy. Achy that the ache stayed with me throughout the night. I get that my shoulders are tight but I felt achy and so sore... I'd warn new visitors. The lady gives you an attitude about tips. She doesn't suggest a percent, but it is 30 percent cash. Look I'll give the $10 tip for the special of $38/hour message. That's still way cheaper than the spa by Hmart... but the attitude is a bummer. "Do you always give $7?" I went to get a massage last Month when they re-open. It was wonderful. My masseuse was great! They do have the UV Light to sanitize/disinfect the rooms. They are prompt with time & really make the most of it. The masseuse don't get out of the room often unlike in Hua Kang -Plainfield Ave. (Edison), in Hua Kang every time they need to get a towel or oil they would get out of the room which is totally waste of time. Very friendly service, extremely affordable, not pushy or any upselling of any sales or treatments. Can request an appointment online, but I happened to call. They have long hours, so I was able to schedule something last minute, the day of, a couple hours before treatment. They have their own parking lot. This looks like a house/business, so there are cars always parked in the very back. So there aren't as many open spaces as it appears on their site. Maybe around 6-8? I can tell this place doesn't get crowded at one time, but has a high turnover, so parking should not be an issue. The entire space was clean, neat, and simple. Everything about the place looked very relaxing, from the moment you walk in and see a wall mural of trees, to the Family room (where my husband and I had our 60 min reflexology massages), with dim lighting and dark walls, and two firm beds. Treatment started early since we were 15 minutes early. It started with a hot foot soak, and they exfoliated our feet. Then we laid down on the tables and they put a towel over our eyes. My masseuse was friendly, all smiles, and I just got a very positive vibe from her. My husband had very firm pressure, which wasn't to his liking. I had softer pressure overall, more like rubbing my feet and toes, but occasionally she would dig her thumbs into my arches, and it would be painful. Once the massage part is done, they use hot stones and rub it against your feet. At first I couldn't figure out what they were using, why it was so hot and smooth on my skin. It felt good, but when they rubbed my foot for a long time, the friction and the heat made it feel like my feet were being burned. Probably my least favorite part, but I think it did help to soften my heels. After they finish with your feet and calves, they move on to your arms and hands very briefly, to your neck, and then stretch you out by pulling on your arms one at a time, followed by pushing your knee to your chest and turning you on your side. It felt really good and I wish they had done more of that, because all that lasted less than ten minutes. On their website they said the 60 minute massages come with an additional 10 minutes of foot massage, but I think they used those ten minutes for the rest of the body. Overall, I enjoyed it and felt very relaxed. Was very pleased to see such a clean bathroom. They had three plants inside the bathroom was which different -- never seen that before, but personally it kind of added to the relaxed vibe they had going on. They have a couples room, a family room, and a chair room, for those who want treatment while sitting up. The family room is just another couples room, but maybe it's just larger? Despite this place being on Lincoln Highway which gets its fair share of car traffic, and people coming in and out, I didn't hear a lot of noise. Of course people chatting in hushed voices, but it did not disturb us in any way. I will say that it was a bit distracting and disconcerting that in the middle of our massages, we heard a very distinct, and drawn out male groan, followed by a higher pitched one. And immediately after our two masseuses began whispering to each other. I wasn't sure if I had imagined it, but my husband also heard it! Price is super affordable - and for whatever reason they had a special going on for 60 minutes for $38. In reality, we got around 70 minutes for $38. As we were leaving they gave us little bottles of water. This is definitely a no frills kind of place, but it was a nice gesture to give guests bottled water. My husband isn't keen on coming back, because he wasn't too impressed by the massage, or perhaps the pressure was too hard. But I love any kind of foot massage, and you can't beat the price and the friendly staff. Would come back if I have the time and in the area. read more

I had a foot massage, which was nice by itself. The lady who led me to the room was very rude. I excused myself to use the restroom before the massage and when I got back she started muttering about how I was making her late.When the time came to pay, the same lady forced me to tip more. I had already given her 20% in tip, which in hindsight I shouldn't have given how badly she had behaved from the time I entered the massage center. These guys need to work on customer service and treating people with respect. You can't tell anybody how much to tip, haggle over it, and then go grumbling about it.
