I usually don't write reviews. I been coming here for 2 years now, always give them $10 or $20 tips for a $55 1hr massage. This time when the lady was giving me the massage, she was using her phone the whole time. Witch it wasn't Pleasant b/c while she was massaging my back with one hand she was using the other one to text, she also stop a few time to text witch she used my massage time. When she finish I go out and give her $5 tips she tells me I missing $5 more. Then I told her the she was on her phone the whole time and she told me " YES I WAS AND DONT COME HERE NEVER AGAIN!". I can't believe this really happened this is very bad customer service and bad communication. All she needed was to apologize and make any excuse about her using her phone. being very Rude Telling me to not come back wasn't the way to speak to me especially when I been there many times and recommend many people. Made an appointment for 30 minutes massage at 11:30 am and when I showed up, I was greeted by this rude old lady (who was constantly on her headphones) who was completely confused and was like, "why are you here"...umm because I called and made an appointment. Fine, after some clarification, I paid her and she walked me to the room; I passed these transparent curtains where you can see other customers (not cool). I started to tell her my chest and shoulder were sore and I need work on it. Immediately the rudeness continued and as she said "no, I am not working on that, back only." I asked "why? I paid for 30 minutes and I want work on my chest and shoulders." She started arguing and brought out another rude old lady. They both started going off and giving me the worst customer experience. My body was sore and now they killed the relaxing/therapuetic mood I was looking for. I asked for my money back and left. For a small business at a time like this, you'd think they'd value the customer but clearly not. Maybe they have enough revenue coming in elsewhere but they aren't earning it with customer service. Franklin Spa sits on Rt. 27 in Franklin Park, NJ. This part of Middlesex County has a growing Asian population, and it was only a matter of time until Chinese traditional Tui Na was available along with the restaurants and markets that are working their way south from Edison and Highland Park. In order to drum up business they are offering a $40 for one hour massage, which is a very good price given that the normal cost is often $20 more. I called ahead when I finished my morning work so I could deal with neck and lower back issues that plague me periodically. They were able to see me a half hour later, which gave me time to drive down to their shop. There is plenty of signage out front, and parking alongside the south end of the building. The spa itself is new and clean, with about a half dozen private rooms with massage table, chair, clothing hooks and mirror. Wendy was my masseuse. She appeared to be in her fifties, and had a pleasant personality and functional English. I asked for a strong massage as I knew that it was the only way to reach the source of my discomfort. She was capable, with strong hands and forearms able to press and dig where needed. She was expert at moving the sheet around to keep me covered. She asked for feedback as she worked, and I could only say that she was doing a good job. I may have fallen asleep for a few minutes. No worries. She used oil and hot towels, which I find as beneficial as the hot rock treatment often found in Asian shops. She finished after the timer began to beep, and left while I dressed. A cool bottle of water awaited when I came out and walked to the front to depart. I tipped her the appropriate amount ($10 per half hour), and took the business card, which offered a free visit after ten massages. Wendy was good enough to ask for by name the next time. As I walked out, I spied a Chinese restaurant in the next building. I walked over for a quick lunch before getting in the car to return to the office. read more

Third time I've been here and this was probably the worst massage I've gotten so far. A good place to go for just the basics, $45 for an hour massage is a pretty good deal. Nothing luxurious like the previous review noted. I made an appointment for a one hour massage. The lady, I believe her name was Lulu, kept digging her nails into my skin while massaging me and barely used enough oil so it was not too pleasant of an experience as is. Once my hour was almost up, she asked if I wanted to add more time because she was not even close to finishing massaging the other side of my body. I ended up having to pay for additional time because she was not able to complete a full one hour body massage on time. Don't think I'll be going back to Franklin spa in the future. read more

Best deal in town, bought the package $200 for 5 hours massage, when you book an appointment, you should say 1 hour full body massage that includes free hot stones treatment. I would recommend Wendy for your whole body massage. She is very talented, and she worked here since it's open and she gave me an incredible service. At $45 an hour, you can't really expect to come in and get a full on luxurious spa experience but what it will get you is a much needed the pain outta your problem areas massage!!! Periodically, I do experience back pain and if I have the day off with not much to do, I'd pop in here for a quick hour in an out. It's easy to get an appointment during the weekdays. I'd call at least an hour ahead to see if there's availability. If you speak Mandarin then you are good to go. And if not, they do understand and are able to communicate through minimal English. I've never had any bad experience with the masseurs, everyone here should get 5 stars, especially Linda, she had the special technique that she can walk on your back on oil, this is such an extraodinary experience! read more

I have been going to the Franklin Spa for several years and never had a mediocre massage. I suffer from chronic arthritis in my right hip with occasional lower back pain. I explain my condition to the staff and exactly where the pain is and let, Lulu, Linda and Angela work their magic. I usually put these lady through a 2 hour hard massage session and they never disappoint me. These ladies are professional, courteous and kind. I highly recommend Franklin Spa. read more

I decided to give it a try, I glad I did, my body was so tired and sore before now I am much better. I love getting massages here. It's clean, reasonably priced, and every skillful lady I've had has given me an incredible massage. Petite women lulu who aren't afraid to hurt me, They also use a hot towel to wipe away the oil after they work on each part so you're not left with a film of grease. I made an appointment a day in advance and when I got there they didn't have an employee there to give me a massage. They asked me to wait 40 minutes till an employee got there. It was snowing outside and I told them I couldn't wait. I was upset because I really needed a massage and the woman was unapologetic and laughed at me.
