My partner and I came for a quick massage and there was one person ahead of us, so we thought we'd get in quickly after. However, we ended up waiting for over 40 minutes as for some reason, the receptionist in the front took other people that came in after us to the back. From what we heard, they were also walk-in clients, no appointments reserved prior to them coming in, so that got us feeling a bit too impatient. Pretty straight forward with this one. I've been here a few times and haven't had a bad experience yet. The prices are very fair and the staff is friendly. I paid more than double at a nearby spa (I won't name) and didn't have a great massage. You can walk-in without an appointment (although I recommend setting one because they can get busy), not pay too much, get a good massage and friendly service you can't really ask for much more. This little hole in the wall establishment tucked away in menlo park mall has been there for years and gives one of THE BEST firm back massages I've ever had. I have a spinal condition that causes my muscles to bunch up on my left side on almost a weekly basis. So I need an option that remains affordable but also effective. I also love that their pricing remains reasonable and you can choose how long you want it for rather than other places that charge $150 for 60 min whether you want that or not. This is my go to. I was a little hesitant at first considering the overall rating this place had but due to not many options available as most other places were still not open, I decided to give them a try. And I'm so glad I did. The massage far exceeded my expectations. My masseur Michael was very professional and knew what he was doing. The pressure was a bit hard at first but after I told him that, he quickly adjusted to medium pressure. My lower back was acting up but also had stiff shoulders, but I didn't even need to mention that to him as he spent equal amount of time on my upper body as he did on my lower. He even used hot stones that was a huge plus. The only con I would say that it's in a mall, so you do hear the occasional outside noise. But then again it's not a fro fro spa. It's a very simple place with affordable pricing. The place was overall clean. Everyone from the front person to my masseur was wearing a mask. They took my temperature to follow standard procedures. Have been going to this location for years. Went the other day normal woman was not working. Therapists for the most part are excellent but a few times not exactly thrilled. But you can not always bat 1.000 pct but a good .850 not to shabby. Well went the other day to find out they no longer are offering memberships, was a little disappointed. The Four stars I gave are for the masseuse. Amy really did a good job and I highly recommend her for a massage. However the lady at the front desk needs to appreciate the customers and not have an attitude. My friend who got a foot massage gave an 18% tip to which she just smirked and said something in her language to one of the other workers. She comes across as greedy, rude and very impatient. This visit was a good one. What I like about this place is that I can drop in without an appointment and get a massage when I need one. Tonight my shoulders were burning and could not get an appointment with my regular massage envy therapists. This place is my go to if I want one ASAP. I had Peter today for 30 mins. I love love love this place... $70 and an hour later your body feels like jello! This isn't one of thise hippy places where Summer wears a dress made out of wheat and Enya in the background. I've gone to just about every massage place, therapeutic and otherwise, there is in the area, and I constantly go back to Oriental Therapy. The price is more than reasonable, and if you like a good, strong massage that gets all the knots out, THIS is where you want to be. Everyone who works there is super nice, and that's before I leave a 20 percent tip (the cheap chick with the $2 "tip" really needs a course in loosening up her tight azz.) There are other massage places that are good, but putting it all together - convenience, price, strength of the massage, and niceness of the employees - this is my favorite spot by far. read more

Nicely tucked away at end of a mall walkway, it's a dimly lit oasis with back massage chairs and rooms for each table. The price is right. They also have a membership discount if you buy in bulk. Sorry I wasn't too fond of the massage at all, 1st of all it's supposed to be a relaxing environment but how can you relax when they are talking to each other from room to room. My massage was very painful and now the next day my body is very sore. I've never had a massage that hurt so much in my life, or that I didn't fall asleep during it. My boyfriend and I just stopped by for a spontaneous massage before we went to the movies (located in the same mall). She said she had spots open for massages and we told her that was great and that we'd come right back in 5 mins after buying our movie tickets first. She got really pushy and asked if we could just buy the movie tickets on the phone and we said no that we just had to go get them in person before the movie sold out. She then said she couldn't guarantee us a massage if we left and how she's had a long day of work and that she didn't even eat lunch and that we should just get the massages right then instead of losing the available spots. My first time here was great so I was very excited when my sister gifted a gift certificate here for my husband and I as a Xmas present -We decided to go for the full package which included full body massage, facial massage, reflexology, and foot soak. The reflexology was horrible!!! Not at all what I was expecting and no foot soak! This is a great place for a chair massage if you are a masochist who enjoys pain and believes you deserve to be punished. If you like a strong guy using his knuckles and elbows to inflict severe pain on the most sensitive soft tissue areas of your back and shoulders this place is for you. I endured it at first, then started squirming side to side, then finally told him it's too strong. He toned it down a bit for about 10 seconds and then the punishment resumed. Had 90 minute massage so I did a 30 minute foot and 1hour full body massage. Foot massage was great. For the full body they put me in a stark room that had a flimsy curtain right under the music which was blasting. I didn't get a full body, she ran out of time. Her buzzer went off and that was it. It wasn't relaxing at all, the workers were talking to each other from room to room and the "relaxing" music stopped during the massage. The lady (I don't know her name) did something to my neck during the massage because I've had a stiff neck since then. We both didn't enjoy our massages and upon paying for them, they asked us for a 20% tip. They said it's mandatory but there's nowhere that says that in the lobby area so beware of that! I used to come here often but a few months ago was my LAST visit due to a rude employee. She took me in for a 30 min. Massage and she was fine until the time was almost up; she hit the back area pretty rough when wrapping up the session and just honestly seemed like she was in a HORRIBLE mood from the second she took me in. When checking out, I paid cash and then took $2 out of my purse and went to hand it to her. She looked at me straight in my face and said "$2?" i said "i'm sorry?? YES". She said ok leave it there, GET OUT. I said, excuse me? I'm ABSOLUTELY NOT leaving anything Now! And proceeded to put my $2 back in my purse. She was beyond rude! Told me a 15% tip was mandatory so i asked to see it in writing or on the receipt! she had nothing to show. I will NOT give 15% of anything with that service, she must've lost her mind. Came here last night for a couples massage with my husband. I'll give an extra star because the massage wasn't the worst I've ever had- however, the atmosphere was awkward and not at all relaxing. There was no music playing in the background, all we could hear is noise coming from the mall. Both of our masseuses had broke out into laughter multiple times from conversations that were happening out side of our room. The worst part-2 different people that worked there came in at separate times during our massage to have full volume conversations with our masseuses while we were laying there practically nude. I recently went here for a 30 minute foot massage and it was amazing - much better & more relaxing than I expected. This place is hidden in Menlo Park mall, you wouldn't think of going to a mall for a massage, but once you walk inside it is so quiet and peaceful. There is classical music playing, private rooms, dim lights and an aquarium when you walk in. You don't hear all the hustle & bustle from the mall at all. I was taken to the back where there are three large comfortable recliners. When I sat down, they soaked my feet first in a warm cleansing soak for 10 minutes, and then reclined my seat all the way so I was laying very comfortably while they massaged my feet for 30 minutes. Very thorough, not leaving any parts of my feet stressed. I am on my feet 14-15hrs a day in heels, so I will be back here religiously at least once a month. I definitely recommend! read more
