Vegan options were great! Server was polite, ambience was spot on and the prices were reasonable.

This was my first time at Bareburger but it was a great time. They recently revamped their menu and now include a full vegetarian/vegan side. I promptly ordered a strawberry shake and one of the preset vegan burgers, their take on the Big Mac. You also have the option to make a burger and with many options (lentil base, beets, impossible, chickpeas) for the burger itself you can't go wrong. Fries come separate but if there's two of you it's a better deal to get a medium or large fry than each get a small order. We got the sweet potato and regular fries split half and half. Yes, you can do such a thing and it's great!! They also have mimosa specials but the sparkling wine was out so we went with sangria. The food came maybe 15-20 minutes later and it was sooooooo good. You always worry about a place overcooking their veggie burgers because they don't know what they're doing, but Bareburger gets it right. The burgers have a heart sign on the bun when it arrives and it's adorable. Our waitress was lovely and checked in on us at all the right moments. I also loved that we had a jar of water just for our table. Bareburger is a fantastic spot for your vegan fare and I'm already looking forward to a return. read more

I ended up eating here during happy hour which is Mondays to Thursdays and ends at 7. The happy hour deal is quite nice. You can either get $5 cocktails or a half off bottle of wine which is a great deal. The wine bottles were reasonably priced to begin with at around $25 or $30 a bottle so half off was amazing. We tried the red blend which was a light bodied wine. For food, we got a Mediterranean salad, build your own burger, and fries which came with a side of ketchup. All the food was good. My only complaint was slow service. For some reason, I think they only had one waiter for the entire place and it stayed quite busy the whole time we were there. read more

Came to Bareburger for a late lunch on a Friday. I wasn't expecting it to be a sit-down restaurant with waiter service, but it was. I thought it was a casual "order at the cashier" place, maybe the other locations are, I don't know. Food and service were really great. My boyfriend and I tried the impossible burger, man that was 10/10! I'm a big fan of the Beyond burger, and I really didn't think it could get better than that. But the impossible burger really tasted more "meat" like, it was really hard to believe it wasn't meat. If you are vegan, you do have to ask for vegan cheese and swap out the brioche bun for the vegan sprouted bun. I also got an appetizer of fries and onion rings to share and those were great too. The fries were not salty but still tasty. My only gripe is the price. My bill was almost $50 after tip for 2 burgers and an appetizer! I don't mind paying a little more for sustainable and ethically sourced food, but it was a lot more money than I expected for a causal burger joint. I also feel like burgers should already come with a side of fries, you shouldn't have to pay extra for that. Not only does Bareburger offer delicious burgers but it is a great place to hangout with co-workers and friends who are vegan. The first time I ever came here was with some of my co-workers who are religiously vegan/vegetarian. They have never eaten meat before and wanted to try this place out due to their "impossible" vegetarian burgers. I also curious how much these vegan/vegetarian burgers "tasted" like beef so I was enthusiastic (the fact they have happy hour helps too.) What sticks out to me about the burgers here is the high quality of the ingredients. The cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes are all really good. Whats nice is you can even build your own burgers here, mixing and matching these ingredients at your preference. They have a lot of classic ingredients and also offer some interesting buns such as the "kale & wild rice patty" and the "sprout bun." Talking about the Impossible Burger by itself (which contains the impossible patty) I have to say 2 things... I don't think it tastes like beef and I think it's delicious. It was really hard for me then, and now writing this, to describe what the Impossible Burger exactly tasted like. It was tasty though, and did taste closer to meat rather then something like tofu or store bought vegan patties. But I think if they gave me the beef burger and the Impossible Burger side to side I would be able to taste significant differences. My vegan/vegetarian friends really did enjoy this place a lot though. Members of my group who never ate meat before got to eat something that was the closest to beef they could have and those who tried the vegan milkshakes really enjoyed those as well. We also drank a few happy hour beers so that may of contributed to the overall enjoyment as well. Overall Bareburger is a fantastic and inclusive place to eat for vegan/vegetarian/carnivores/drinkers/non-drinkers. I hold a high regard for this place and would be happy to go again. If I can give any criticism for this place, I would say it should offer a wider beer selection for happy hour... but besides that I think this place is an excellent addition to my teams Friday night hangouts. read more

Not the biggest fan of Bareburger. The burgers are just ok. I don't really like the flavor profiles they created. A lot of them taste too sweet. Just tried their Sweeet Bird. I don't know what I was thinking but I didn't really notice it had bourbon pear jam. All I tasted was this weird overly sweet jam covering the entire sandwich. It would've been nice to have been able to taste the chicken. I couldn't really eat it so I threw most of it away. The standard burger is also too sweet since it has a ton of caramelized onions. The only burger that I actually like so far is the one with guacamole. It wasn't sweet at least. The plain regular burger is pretty bland as if they didn't even season the patty. I used to like Bareburger when they had the exotic meats but now it's just a disappointing overpriced burger joint. Nothing exciting, nothing that really makes me want to come back. read more

I normally have a great experience at Bareburger. Today, the person who brought out food mixed up the GF and non-GF bun. I could tell it was wrong because I've eaten there many times and they look VERY different from each other. I asked him if mine was the gluten free and he assured me that it was. He said "I'll bring out the manager, the cook, anyone" ...and then the person who he brought over verified that I was correct and the orders were wrong. He didn't offer any kind of apology or show any concern at all. I would have been incredibly ill if I had not already known what it was supposed to look like. I have tried quite a few burger places specifically to try places bison burgers and I was not disappointed. I asked for medium rare and I got medium rare...which is sometimes rare for them to get right. The burger itself was delicious, I was able to cater to my dietary restrictions and it wasn't super oily. It was the perfect size. Not too big and not too small and the sweet potatoes fries were also delicious. The waitress and other workers were very nice and quick and they even checked to make sure about my dietary restriction when they weren't sure about an ingredient that had what I'm allergic to in it. The restaurant has a cool, hip vibe, with natural rustic wood and barebrick walls, hardwood floors and tin ceiling. Bareburgers are not cheap in Manhattan. I guess one must pay for location and quality. My organic beef California Burger was perfectly medium rare as requested with a hint of pink inside. With the added fresh raw red onions, tomato, lettuce, secret salsa verde (haha), and avocado on a brioche bun, this was near burger heaven for me. Bacon would've did it. The side of onion rings were a bit salty but at nearly $1 a slice I ate them all. Service was good; we only had to flag the server once to request more water. We skipped cocktails since we overindulged at the Chelsea event's open bar. Still, with tax and tip it came to $24 for a burger and rings. Good thing the burger wasn't really bare. read more

At first I walked past it. I then realized I was standing right in front. I eat early so the place had plenty of seating. The view out the front window was festive. This location is long and narrow. It filled up while I was there. The TV's at BB are an added attraction. I had a window view and TV view from my seat. The service was speedy all employees working as a team to make my dining experience proceed smooth. The burger and fries were delicious as usual. Tasty and juicy. Fixed the special way I order. I was going to skip desert. I asked the receptionist what was available that day. She told me about the new Choco Choco Peanut Butter Sammie. Wow! What a treat! I love firm ice cream sandwiched between two soft double chocolate chip cookies. Peanut butter ice cream is definitely tasty. I crave this desert all the time. I came here and I was a little disappointed. As a vegetarian I'm always so excited to have there vegetarian burgers! I usually get the beyond burger, this time I went for the impossible burger. It was so dry... so very dry. After I realized how dry it was I ordered an egg sunny side up to try and kill the dryness. They brought it out pretty fast and I put it on top. It didn't really help. I do love there sweet potato fries as they were very good!!! I highly recommend them. The staff is so nice and patient, and seating was pretty quick for how crowded it was. So in conclusion don't get the impossible burger if you're looking for juicy. I would go with the beyond burger if you're not into super well done burgers. read more

We ordered ... $8.80 Duck Duck Gouda - duck bacon, gouda, fried egg, tomato fig jam: Very good, fancy version of a bacon & egg sandwich. This would be a great breakfast sandwich. I couldn't really taste duck in the duck bacon. The brioche bun was toasted and nicely soaked up all the grease, fat, and egg yolk. $11.80 Supreme - beef, colby, country bacon, green leaf, onion rings, chopped fries, sauce: This is one heck of a burger. The patty was big and juicy. The cheese was nicely melted over the patty. You get a nice leaf of lettuce, not that shredded crap. The most obvious thing about this burger - man you get a lot of onion rings. One inside the sandwich would have been enough for me. The two onion rings stacked on top of the bun looks interesting, but you end up eating it separately anyway, so it was kind of unnecessary stacking. Plus it squashes the bun the top. We also shared some onion rings and fries, which ended up being too much food for us. The fried stuff was good, but I thought the fried options are rather expensive. The food here is delicious. You can build or customize your own burger if you like. As for me, if I wanted to do that, I would have stayed home. They also have other interesting meat options like elk, boar, and bison. Note they won't seat you if you if you have more than half of your party only options are full party or order for everyone once you sit. Make a reservation for Friday night for sure it was pretty busy even though they have quite a bit of seating. Once seated James our waiter was awesome (April 6, 2018).. recommended menu items and even understood the pains of a whole30 diet! Good place to go for folks of all different dietary restrictions so if you got a vegan, someone on whole30 someone keto etc.. there is something for everyone pretty much. And everything I believe is locally sourced! Went with the beef burger wrapped in collard greens some quack and onions, pretty darn good. Would highly recommend it if you're going the non gluten route. Our food came quickly and just as we ordered. All in all bareburger has never let me down will be back for a decent burger. read more

I loved the Fire Quacker! I don't think I've ever had a duck burger before, but it was a good change from the usually beef burger. It had a nice spicy kick, but it wasn't overwhelming. However it was a pretty small burger. I was kind of expecting something a little bit bigger. *Side Baby Green Salad* The salad was good and went well with my duck burger. Came here because we wanted burgers with good in substitutes and I saw on Yelp that they had a collard green wrap option! We were excited to find out that this is in Hell's Kitchen! It's a cute restaurant! It has a casual vibe and is very colorful! It's bigger than it looks; there's an entire second level! They don't take reservations, but we were able to add ourselves to the waitlist. We walked in and notified the host and were immediately seated. Service was great! And they give you a personal water jug for your table so you can refill constantly! We ordered the build your own burger with turkey meat and the collard wrap. Get the special sauce! It's sooo good! The Cali fresh was in fact refreshing because of the unusual flavors - cauliflower hummus, watermelon radish and red quinoa. I also included grilled lemon chicken (greens promotion $13.95) and was happy to see 3 large pieces right on top of my salad. Downside - expensive for an untossed salad. Also I left a bunch of greens at the bottom of my box because I ran out of other components. So overall, I probably wouldn't crave it or order it again. I've eaten Bareburger several times mostly when my office orders it for lunch. Their menu has changed a lot in a year. They don't have the unusual meats anymore like duck and elk (which makes sense - they weren't that great) nor the yummy pork belly Brussels. They've migrated to the more traditional beef and beef-like veggie burgers. Lemonade - Pretty much like Australian lemonade aka Sprite Impossible Burger - If you're an adventurous eater, I recommend trying this burger at least once! It looks and tastes like real meat, but the texture is too soft to fool anyone. Supreme Burger - Delicious! Buckaroo Burger - I had this today and it was delicious! This is such a wonderful place to go if you are in a group of people that have diverse dietary needs. My team at work went here for a team dinner. We didn't have a reservation (IDK if they even take them) and it was PACKED. We waited a few minutes, but were seated soon after. We were a trio of a no-veggies meat eater, a non-beef meat eater, and a vegan. All three of us were able to get food that we enjoyed. The vegan perspective: For a starter, we ordered the roasted brussel sprouts without the cheese. We made it clear that we did not want cheese. They brought out the appetizer with the cheese, but when we pointed it out, they quickly replaced it with a no-cheese version. The brussel sprouts were delicious! My meal consisted of a make-your-own burger that had an impossible patty, vegan American cheese, and green leaf. I had sweet potatoes on the side and a Velvis milkshake to drink. I love that they have vegan cheese and vegan milkshakes! It allows me to get whatever I am craving without having my veganism limit my options. Best of all, the food always taste great. I paid $6 for their "Uptown" fries which are supposed to have parmesian, garlic aioli, truffle salt, and scallions. What I received was a sad joke. They're literally plain fries with a tiny amount of cheese and scallions. Most of the fries were straight up plain - do NOT waste your money ordering their specialty fries.
