I wish there were zero stars. To be brief, they are a typical bait and switch rip off. Called to have 3 units serviced under their tuneup special this summer. We were in the process of selling/closing on our house. The new owner moved in and the AC quit working. All of a sudden Bardi provides the new owner with an altered receipt that stated the units needed $2,900 worth of work. Not only did they change the invoice, they changed it twice to say we declined to have the units repaired. They provided falsified invoices to the new owners with their name and my signature. We called the Bardi office and spoke with the office manager. She told us not to worry that we are not liable just trying to make everyone feel better. HMM - so telling a new owner of a home they need work done that was not required and altering an invoice to state that they Informed us the units required work when the tech never said a word (I was on a conference call). Sounds like a dishonest company to me. On the advice of our closing attorney for our new home, we are going to have an attorney reach out to Bardi to find out why our invoices were altered. There are much better and more honest companies to have repair and service your units. Beware of "specials" from Bardi. read more

I REALLY like Bardi! 3 houses over 14 years - they've always done a great job. On time. Friendly. Reasonable. Do-it-right attitude. BUT - they should stop selling AMANA units. JUNK. We had them install a complete HVAC 4 years ago. The AC compressor unit just got it's second capacitor in that amount time! A "part" that apparently isn't covered under the 10 year Amana warranty. Plus, I'm now told the coil is starting to leak refrigerant! That's why our unit shut down. After only 4 years! I hope the coil is a part covered under the warranty. And, they needed to tighten all the electrical connections on the circuit board because they were loose and arcing! JUNK! JUNK! Please Bardi - stop selling Amana JUNK. And Goodman for that matter since they make Amana products. I'd change this rating to 5 Stars if you stop selling them. read more

Who ever said they look forward to getting an HVAC replaced? NO ONE! After obtaining quotes from 4 different companies, we hired Bardi who just replaced our HVAC today. It was really important to us that we hired a company that was reputable and who would stand behind their work and one of our neighbors highly recommended them. Bardi wasn't the cheapest quote we received, but our Sales guy Mike F. was very responsive when we had questions and we had a lot especially since we were spending so much money. My husband and I liked him right away because he cut right to the chase and said "Hey, I don't care who you are getting your quotes from, what do I have to do to get your business." No long, drawn out sales pitch wasting our time with fluff. He gave us the basics of the system we were interested in and was very matter of fact. Efficiency at its best from Sales to Installation. Our Lead Foreman and Techs were Kevin and Tony and they both were meticulous in their installation and extremely courteous. Would have them in our home again with no problem. Our new HVAC system is blowing ice cold and we couldn't be happier! I would definitely recommend them to my personal family and now I'm letting my Yelp family know that they have the "Rhonda" seal of approval. I'm very hard to please. P.S. I am visiting my daughter's house in Stone Mountian when the HVAC ceased to function in 90 degree heat. Called Verdi and the very cautious office staff got a great tech out to the house that very morning. Found the problem quickly was ants shorting out the power supply. Gave me options for the fix along with costs and after our choice fixed it in a half hour. Also. Did a complete "health" inspection of the system with recommentations. Thanks so much Jeremy. I have 2 Carrier AC units in my house, one for each level. The one unit is 17 years old and going smoothly. I called on Bardi to replace the other unit in 2012 (so it lasted 11.5 years). Bardi put in a Lennox unit in 2012 that is now 5yr 10m old and not working now already! Bardi came out and they showed me repair options for up to $4,500! The unit in it's entirety cost me $4,006 to install in 2012. Are you kidding me Bardi? Then after being informed my install cost was only $4K, they offered me a lesser choice in their good/better/best repair options, which was $2,250. They never took any ownership for selling me a product that died so soon. They did not offer to discount the labor on the repair or do anything for me. They did offer to charge me the full $68 diagnostic fee that led to them quoting me $4,500 to fix a $4K unit. Unreal... PS... I got it fixed elsewhere for $150. Crazy read more

This company is outstanding And Brandon is even better. Our air-conditioning went out and the company we had a service agreement with couldn't get out for days. I called Bardi and they were able to get someone out that day diagnose the problem and fix our air-conditioning unit. Brandon was our service pro and he was an absolute pleasure to have in our house. He took all the time we needed to understand the problem had videos he took of the problem to ensure we felt comfortable with what he diagnosed. He was the reason why that day we ended up signing up for their service agreement in lieu of renewing with the previous provider. Other perks: - we can request Brandon which we will since he was an absolute delight. - if you have a service agreement w them you don't get charged a fee for them to come out, where our previous provider charged $80. - they also have plumbing and fire place services Very very please with the service of this company!! read more

If there is ever an industry that can take advantage of a consumer, this is it. I mean - what does the average consumer know about HVACs? Bardi didn't leave me with the feeling I just got taken. The dispatcher went out of his way to get someone to me today. The rep that showed was polite, patient and went out of his way to explain the issue to me along with making other sensible recommendations. Most important - the problem was fixed and fixed quickly. So, I have mixed feelings for Bardi's service. I've had some excellent technicians out at my house and some good work done. Be aware that the technicians are paid on commission like furniture salespeople or used care salespeople. So, when they come out to check your furnace or air conditioner you will get a "range" of options. Ours always ranged from $2-400 on the low end up to 9K on the upper end... you choose! In several years, there was NEVER a "you are good to go" response. To be fair, our air conditioner and furnace were older and probably needed most of what was done. Some of it seems a little crazy price-wise, pretty much $250 for a fix with 10 dollar parts. Again, the technical people always seemed very knowledgeable , did good work and were very friendly, clean workers. The quotes did wear on my nerves over time though. We eventually needed a new unit and got a quote from Bardi's and several other companies. Bardi's was not the cheapest by far but did have some nice options. WE went with a different company and decided to drop our monthly contract with Bardis. We were originally told that we we would have to wait 2 months and drop service at that time, I emailed a couple of people and eventually I was told they would drop it and refund the month+ it took to get the resolution. Be aware that I have spent thousands of dollars with Bardis over the years and this was the answer I got. 2 months later and I was still getting charged. I emailed again and was told it would absolutely be dealt with. It was and did I get my 3 months refund? Nope, 2 months.. sigh. Oh well, I will not use Bardi again, there are too many other options. Again, the work they did was good work, they have good people that are well trained, just be aware of their business practices and take their quotes, "discounts", etc. with a grain of salt. read more

Do not use Bardi. My toilet was flushing slowly. I scheduled an appointment. The window was 8am to noon. Bardi did not contact me to say they would not show up on time. After noon, I texted them to say no one showed up. They offered to reschedule for the afternoon. Plumber arrived right before 6pm. He stated the toilet likely needed to be augered. He quoted a price of $389. He said if the toilet had to be removed the price would be $1347. I declined service and said I would pay the trip charge of $88. When I scheduled the appointment I was told that the trip charge was $88 but I would save 4% if I paid by check or cash. The plumber told me that I would not save 4% by writing a check. Rather I would be charged an extra 4% if I paid by credit card. The customer service was deplorable in failing to alert me when they couldn't make the agreed appointment window and inaccurately describing the difference between credit card and cash/check payment. The pricing for the work is predatory and excessive. The plumber who showed up was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. However Bardi as a company is horrendous based on my experience. FYI, after he left, I borrowed a toilet auger from a friend (it costs $14.98 at Home Depot) and I fixed the issue in less than 5 minutes. read more

If only it were possible to give ZERO stars. We've had Bardi doing repairs and maintenance on our HVAC for a few years now, and did not have any major problems. In fact, we finally had them replace our furnace with a new one a few months ago. So, we figured that when we had a plumbing problem, we could call on them to come help -- that was a huge mistake. We had sewage backing up into our bathtub and a few other indications that we had a main sewer line clog. We've been battling this problem for several years with tree and bush roots getting into the main sewer line (it's over 60 years old), so we knew what was happening. Bardi came in on a Friday and scoped down the sewer line and tried auguring through the roots, but said they couldn't go any further because the roots were too packed in. They said they'd come back on Monday and cut a 10-foot section out and replace it including a cleanout so that they could look further down the line. They showed up Monday morning and started the project. After looking down the rest of the line, they said that it was almost solid with roots and that we should replace the line. We figured that it might really be a good idea going forward so that we don't have to deal with the issue any more. They gave us a new estimate, which we thought was excessively high, but we went ahead since we wanted the project done and didn't want to wait for more quotes. We okayed the project and they pulled out the trees, bushes and roots and removed and replaced the sewer line all the way to the county tap. They filled the trench back in with loose soil and just left without saying a word. They didn't check and clear the drain lines where the sewage had been backing up like they were supposed to. They didn't pack down the soil or cover the dirt in the trench with straw, which would prevent the soil from washing away as they said they would, and they didn't cut down and bundle the trees and bushes that they removed like they said they would so the county would remove them. It rained the next day and half of the loose soil washed down into the storm drain. It took three calls and multiple promises, but after several days they finally hired someone to come get the trees and bushes, and someone spread straw over the trenched area (still not sure who did that or when). During this time we had discovered that the drains were still not draining, and were advised by another plumber that the sewage that had backed up into the drain lines (and sat there for four or five days) had congealed and caused clogs in those lines and they should have been cleaned out. After calling multiple times, they finally sent out the plumber who had been working on the project and he didn't even try to clean out the drains; instead he tried to tell us that we needed to replace all the plumbing under the house because it was old and cast iron, and that was why the drains were not draining. We knew that could not be true, since the drains had been working fine (not optimal but they were OK) before the sewage had started backing up into the drains. The hardware is certainly not going to degrade to that point in four or five days. Multiple calls to the company over the next week finally got an answer on Friday from a "supervisor in the office" Justin who promised that he would get a plumber out on Monday and make sure it was made right, and that they wouldn't leave until it was corrected. Needless to say, no plumber showed or called on Monday. Tuesday, we called to speak with Justin again about the no-show and was told he was in a conference and would definitely call us back before he left for the day. He did not call back that day, nor did he call the next, nor the following day. In fact, we did not heard back from Bardi for four weeks. We finally had to call and pay for a different plumber who came out and fixed the problem within an hour. Don't bother with these people -- they are just in it to take you for what they can get and will not give you the time of day once they've been paid. read more

I have to update my 5 star review for the plumbing, which was a 5 star experience, to a 1 star for the HVAC service. During the plumbing visit I signed up for their maintenance contract which includes servicing the HVAC units. After my 3 units were serviced I was given a report that identified two issues and "recommendations". 1 was a "Voltage regulating device that was leaking" and the other was an issue with one of my furnaces. The voltage device was proposed to be replaced for $500. It's actually a $10 capacitor that can be replaced in under 5 minutes. The tech did not even attempt to replace the capacitor.... Instead proposed a $500 replacement that included a future $20 trip charge. Then proposed Approx. $10,000 worth of unnecessary work (3k for surge arrestors for each of my units and 7k for "Germicidal filtering devices), none of which are critical or even required. I replaced the capacitor in 3 mins (cost $10.45),.. I also have an all home surge arrestor so non are necessary on any of the units. The 7k germicidal units,.. Really?)... The up-charging and recommending of non-sensical items without proactively even attempting to correct issues that could easily have been corrected at a fair price (New Capacitor that was obviously in his truck and could have been replaced while he was at my home for a fair price), speaks volumes. We have been subscribing to Bardi's annual maintenance plan for a few years now. They have always been good about calling to schedule the semi-annual checkups, but until today, I didn't feel that their service was anything to write home about - not bad, but not exemplary, either That all changed when Chad E showed up today. Chad was BY FAR the best Bardi tech we have ever worked with. Before starting, he walked us through everything he was going to do as part of the checkup (no other tech had ever done this), and his list seemed to include several steps (like cleaning the AC coils) that had not been performed during prior visits. In addition, he was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, answering all of our questions in as much detail as we wanted. And unlike with pretty much every previous tech, we were not told we needed to replace our capacitor. So I would recommend Bardi, but definitely make sure to ask for Chad E! (There are two Chads, but I can't speak to the other one as I have not worked with him.) read more

I called Bardi for an estimate on plumbing repairs at my Mom's house. They were able to send someone the next day. He told me they were going to have to dig up the front yard and do a lot of work, at an estimate of over $7,000. When I told him Thank You but I don't have that much money, he became a Salesperson and told me Bardi provides financing, even quoted percentages to me. I paid $68 for his visit fee. I had 2 more companies look and went with the one I liked best -- it cost me $507. read more

Below Rating Review. This relationship with Bardi has been a nightmare. It all started at the Beginning of February when I randomly chose Bardi Plumbing for a pipe issues in our Master Shower. Aaron came out and fix shower and did check the other plumbing issues we were having. He said our water heater was rusted and about to burst and recommended a new one. I also requested a circulating pump to be installed and a filtration system. The water heater was installed a few days later and then the circulation pump. That's when the ordeal started, the circulating pump was installed with no explanation of how to be used. I noticed a plug that was not plug into anything. I asked why and Aaron told me it needed an outlet but we didnt have one so he just left it like that. $275 later I paid to have an electrician come out to install outlet so that what I purchased would work. No communication and bad service. Then comes the filtration system that I ordered and already paid for so I went ahead with the scheduled install. Once again no explanation of anything, the tech placed the filtration system in our well house and then he called me out to see it. After paying $5000.00 just for the install and filtration system I seen a plug laying on top of the filtration system. I asked what's that for and why is it not plugged in. He said you need an outlet and you don't have one for this. It sits there for two weeks while I have three different electrician come out to give me quotes from $3500.00 to $5000 to run additional wiring to run it. My main question was why was it put there in the first place instead of underneath the house. The tech obviously didn't want to go to the trouble of digging a bit to put it there. Bardi, eventually sent someone back out to move the filtration system and as this was happening they went back to office to get supplies and as they were gone the filtration system blew through their piping and flooded the well house. They came back hours later and said they fix it and figured out how to leave it in the well house. I'm concerned if it's actually working or not. Saved the worst part of this nightmare for the end. I also needed some toilets installed and the price they were going charge was outrageous. The tech suggested that he could personally install them on his time and we could pay him directly. However, the pay he was suggesting had nothing to do with cash. I was obviously naive and shocked when he said he wanted payment with sex. He would install the toilets if I would pay him with cash. I told him NO and that it would never happen. He then said well how about you just watch? Unbelievable, I reported the incident to the Supervisor but that was one week after it happened because every attempt and every message that was left for supervisors were ignored. I finally called again and refused to hang up until someone acknowledged me. As of today, I still have had no follow up or information from Bardi. Please be cautious. read more

Bardi called us to schedule our "regular maintenance". Up until then we had NO issues with our units. They came to "service" them and in the process broke our attic ladder (to the tune of a $700 repair) and knocked some hoses loose on the units....leading to our daughter's room and our living room having water damage (water leaking from the vents). This was over a month ago. To date we have NOT gotten the units permanently fixed and our submitted invoice for the $700 attic ladder repair has not been reimbursed yet. I've spent most of my time chasing down their "Manager" for updates. I would NOT recommend. read more

After a call on Sunday, a late and expensive diagnostic on Monday (which I was told he would arrive early Tuesday morning with the part he told me was originally broke). The technician arrived Tuesday late again around 4 or 5 o'clock again scams my 80 year old dad out of 90 more dollars for "some other part!" ... And then leaves again leaving us in the cold for a 3rd night! After my wife has called their office and raised hell and supposedly gotten the price reduced by 60 dollars!... After not sleeping well from frustration I decided to check their reviews and it is everything I dreaded and expected... *Long Post* I have used Bardi in the past for HVAC- nothing too serious so I was happy with there service. On Dec. 8th I had Bardi come out for an emergency plumbing issue. On the 8th we were charged $300 for emergency/weekend fee and then $250 for auguring of both toilets. Since it was a weekend this is all they could do but I set up with Tim for them to come out first thing Monday morning (Dec. 10th). Tim told me that a camera would need to be used as well as installing a clean out valve. He quoted me $1,600 for this work. He said since a tractor would be needed he needed to take an $800 down payment and then the other $800 would be charged on Monday. On Monday Tim and Justin came out to do a camera through our lines to figure out what the issue was and possibly fix whatever needed to be done. Once the camera was complete Justin calls me and tells me that there are roots in our lines as well as rusting (cast iron pipes). He states that a complete overhaul of our plumbing would need to be done. Since this is a complete demolition of our floors I told him that would not be done. He stated that the lines from our house to the street would at least need to be done. I asked Justin for a quote and he states $10-15,000. I chuckled and told him nothing would be done until I got additional plumbing companies out for quotes. On the same day that Bardi came out I had 3 more plumbing companies come. All 3 laughed at the pricing that Bardi had given me. They all said there was no way that replacing lines from the house to the street should EVER be that much. I received quotes from these 3 companies between $3-$5,000. Bardi was triple if not quadruple the pricing of 3 other plumbing companies. To make matters worse- they tried to keep the $1,600 even though they didn't do anything!! One company redid a camera through the lines and there was no roots running through our pipes! All 3 companies did agree that the lines needed to be replaced eventually because they were old BUT all 3 also said it was not an emergent situation like Bardi made it out to be. I called Bardi and asked for a written quote to compare to the other 3 and Justin tells me they don't do a breakdown of charges that there quotes are just lump sums and that he would email me a quote (I still haven't received this quote). Justin asked me what my 3 other quotes came to...I tell him what they were and he states that the actual quote given to us was $6,800 and the $10-15,000 was just an "initial quote". Again, even with this decrease they are still way overpriced. In short, I had Omni plumbing come out and inspect ALL of our lines and they fixed one slight clog an rebuilt both toilets for $600. I will NEVER use Bardi again! They are dishonest and only out to price gauge and take advantage of customers. read more

I rarely leave reviews for a company but this company is a ripoff. Justin and another gentleman came yesterday supposedly to fix an issue with our furnace. The first thing the other guy asked was did we want to purchase a "friends with Bardi plan" which was $350 I believe. I told him "no, just fix the issue " He didn't even diagnose the issue with our furnace first. They poked around the furnace for a while. After they finished, my husband and I assumed they had corrected the issue but all they did was show me pictures of what they recommend what was wrong with the system. At the end of the visit still tried to sell me the plan, and was charged only $48 for a diagnostic visit. We had ABSOLUTELY NO issue paying to get the issue corrected, but was not paying for a plan we would not use on top of the problem with the furnace. This is their way of getting more money from people Would not recommend this business to anyone especially when they want to up sell you before diagnosing and fixing the problem. I think it's unethical and pathetic to try to take advantage of people especially during these times. read more

The technician showed up in a mask but no shoe covers as I was told shoe covers were part of their COVID-19 protocol. The technician immediately began trying to sell me a membership. After I told him I was not interested he continued to push me to buy a membership throughout the entire visit. The technician did not follow instructions beginning with parking in an unauthorized space and not the space I provided for him. In addition, I specifically told him that I had just put a new filter in my unit but he took it out anyway and put their filter in even though I specifically asked him not to do so. Finally, I only scheduled for a routine preventative maintenance and requested a list of any issues that were found. Instead I had a 3 1/2 hour visit that ended with five different estimates for repairs that were extremely overpriced. For example, to clean the evaporator coil $869.00. I contacted a competitor who's price is $160.00 for the same exact service. RUN don't walk away from this company. read more

Worst company ever, they talk you into paying for a plan once a month for $18 then when you need them to come out and check your heating and air they always say there is an issue, my unit is only 4 years old and they charge me $2000 in 2018 and now the air is not working again and the technicians want to charge me $250 just to look at it. The company came in February to service the unit under the contract and now that it is hot the AC unit is no longer working. There is some under handed thing going on with this company. Like many people, over the summer my A/C unit crapped out. 2 of my colleagues had trouble first then I did. Even knocking on wood and pleading for the trouble not to come my way did not stop it. It was out for 2 days while I troubleshooted the issue. Here are some steps to test if your A/C goes out: 1. Make sure it's turned on lol. Sounds silly but you need to check that. 2. Replace the batteries in the thermostat. 3. Change the air filter. 4. Check the unit in the home for leaks and gunk buildup or obvious water poolage. If there, clean it out. 5. Watch a few YouTube videos to know what the hell may be happening before calling a pro. 6. Call a pro lol. I landed on a few duds before contacting Bardi. They were quick, efficient and professional.Thankfully I had a weird but easy to fix issue. My power switch had blown out and simply needed to be replaced. No way I would have known that but the tech discovered it within 15 minutes. Mad that had to pay over $100 for this easy fix. That switch probably cost $8, however, happy it was not a more serious issue that could have cost over $1,000. I'll take "Fix the switch" for $100, Alex. Here is the kicker. I was given the option to pay a higher price which included a "come out and let us take a look at it fee" which was about $250, or pay the $100 (approx) but start a monthly billing service plan of $18+. This would include any future issues that Bardi can handle (plumbing and electrical). It's like a service plan and they bill you monthly. I choose that because I have some projects taken place before the end of the year. Also, they gave me the option to have the technician come after peak hours for a higher price. If I remember correctly, the "come out and let us take a look at it fee" during prime hours (9am-5pm)was about $60 and after hours from 5-10pm, at approx. $90. They called and said, "We can have someone there by 5pm" but wanted to charge me the after prime time fee of $90. LOL, you tried it! No thank you, let's do later when my schedule permits. She did not listen and called the neighbor's maintenance man, and the maintenance man fixed my mom's unit for 100 dollars!!! it now works perfectly and cools perfectly!!! read more

I had called and told them I had an AC leak and that I needed a leak test done to see where the leak was. The lady said they needed to look at it first. The tech showed up opened up the upstairs unít the went outside and put gauges on the outside unit and said there is no freon, you have a leak. Then told me 500 for a leak test. So I paid $88 to be told what I told them. And I didn't get any of the stuff done from the $59 tune up soecial. Called another company, the leak test is $125 read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! As a small business owner I contacted Bardi in March 2017 to complete a gas pressure test and inspection for our retail location in order to get a gas meter. They failed to notify me or provide proof of the passed inspection which expired after 6 months, $350 down the drain. Gas lines were pressurized and left to hold for several days to prove there was no current leaks. Shortly after pressurization, it is Bardis responsibility to contact and pay the City of Chamblee to complete the inspection. The city then notifies Bardi whether the inspection passed or failed. The next step is for Bardi to contact me the customer, of the passed/failed inspection so that the customer can move forward with necessary repairs or planed utilities as in my case. It is equivalent to requesting a home appraisal, the home appraisal is paid for and completed without being given the results of the appraisal. Only different is that a gas pressure test inspection expires after six months. My card was charged $350 in April but no permit number or notice of passed/failed inspection. Here it is months later that I have time to follow up to see whats the hold up, I am made aware by City of Chamblee that Bardi was notified that the inspection passed months ago and has since expired. Now Bardi wants me to pat $375 dollars to complete another inspection. Although they dropped the ball by not providing a permit number, passed/failed results upper management tells me to pay another $375 and asks me why am I just calling back? I had a water heater that burst on on weekend. A friend of a friend told me to call Bardi. They came out and gave me an estimate of $2,500.00 to replace a 40 gallon gas water heat with the exact same type. I have been around long enough to know that this price was absurd and they gave me that # after looking over my "dire" situation . I told the no thaks and call another established smaller local plumbing company that does no media advertising and doesn't drive brand new advestising wrapped vans and got the job done for $ 1,200.00. read more

I'm a business owner and I want to be as objective as possible in this review. I'm on the fence as to whether I should give 2 stars, but the more I think about it, the more I think 1 star is (unfortunately) right for me. I live in a high-rise condo building and my air conditioner started blowing out warm air even at low cool temperature settings. We have a building engineer who looked at it and said that the saftey overflow switch had been triggered (meaning the condensation from running the a/c cold wasn't being drained out properly in the indoor unit). The switch was doing it's job by triggering (works like a buoy/flapper valve in a toilet where the water fills up if the condensation isn't draining). The building engineer said I need to have someone come through and clean out the a/c unit since we had the wrong size filter in there, which basically means dust was being pulled into the unit, slowing down efficiency. I looked on the web and found Bardi. Their website says here (http://bardi.com/ACHeatingInspection-112) "First, a visual inspection is conducted to check the AC or furnace. Then, the actual tune-up checklist is performed." So I asked for the A/C tune up service, which 2 staff members and their marketing documents said would cost $79 to perform. The technician who came out (same day, which is awesome and they deserve credit for that) inspected the a/c and wrote up a few options for me. He basically said I can choose 1 of 4 options: $723 - Clean evaporation coil, clean condensation drain, perform coil treatment and clean blower wheel $461 - Clean condensation drain, perform coil treatment and clean blower wheel $332 - Clean evaporation coil and clean blower wheel $189 - Perform condensation drain pan I looked on their website (link provided above) and I then called one of their employees who sent me a Word document with the a/c tune up service. The strange thing is that each of these services are part of their "21 point check list" for the a/c tune up - which is supposed to include inspection and performing the cleaning. The long short is the technician (who will remain unnamed out of respect) unscrewed a few bolts, pulled out a few pieces of metal, vacuumed the dirt, and put it all back. He also blew the dirt out of the pipes using a handheld pump. In fact, he didn't even do other parts of the "21 point check list" which include checking batteries on the thermostat, and whatever else, which is cool. I don't mind him leaving the simple stuff behind. The problem is that this guy was trying to charge me nearly 10x what the Bardi website says I should've been charged. On top of that, he said that my safety overflow switch (mentioned above) was broken (the one that was working great moments before he arrived). He charged $211 to replace it. The part itself can be found for $13 online, and I don't mind paying for labor even if it only took 10 minutes to replace. The fact is, the part was working great before he showed up and probabilistic reasoning would say that the odds of it breaking within the window of time he arrived are probably close to 1:10,000 - i.e. extremely unlikely. Before paying between ~$700 - $1000 for a service that took a maximum of 2 hours of actual labor (comprised of screwing bolts and vacuuming pieces of metal as well as the application of knowledge), I decided we should call the Bardi office. The technician said they wouldn't be in the office, seemingly trying to prevent me from calling them. I called anyway and the staff member was kind enough to honor the $79 price point and told the tech to void what he was trying to charge. He still charged the $211 extra for the switch. Again, I had no problem paying what was asked. It wasn't about the money. As a business owner, I believe in fair compensation for services and for the employees. That said, this whole thing just felt super sketchy. The technician honestly seemed like a pretty nice guy, but you learn to read people over time. The fact that he decided to draw up 4 price points, he called "investments", for services that were listed on the site for $79 - and then tried to charge me 10x for those services is just incongruent and absurd. Either Bardi needs to fix their website or they need to provide some clarity for the technicians' communications. Either way, I am compelled to warn my entire condo community about this because this technician said he had over 30 years of experience and the way he was messing with the strange pricing and the fact that he seemingly tampered with my a/c equipment is scary. Logical deduction would say that, if the above is true, who knows how many people he's affected over 30 years. I wish I could have written a better review for yesterday's service - the job was done swiftly and they deserve credit for that, but the whole thing felt bad. If it is a simple matter of clarity in communications, then that should be fixed. Please let me know if I'm out of line with this review. read more

I can only tell you about my experience, some people may have had good ones, but I did not. First off, I called in to fix a leaking valve for my water heater. This at home depot can cost from $10-20. The leak was just a few constant drips. They arrived next day, about the time they were suppose to. When they came, they looked at the heater barely and immediately told me I needed to replace the whole entire water heater and quoted me $1800 + service for the job. I declined and told him I would let him know if i wanted to go that way later. He made me wait 30 minutes while he was on the phone talking to another customer i suppose to get the paperwork done for the $70 "service" charge. I am sorry, but having to pay for bad advice like that rubs me raw. I cannot recommend this company from my experience. I had my uncle come over and we looked up youtube/articles videos how to replace a valve and drain it first. It has been over 6 months now, the water heater does not leak and is working in order. You as the reader can choose to gamble your service with this company or not, I came on here and saw good reviews and expected a good result. I lost that gamble and am out $70 and time for bad advice. read more

I contacted Bardi for a hot water heater flush and to fix my leaky bathtub faucet. The plumber came out and flushed the hot water heater with no problem. When it came to the leaky bathtub faucet, after removing the face plate, the plumber attempted to replace the cartridge. He said the cartridge was not the problem; it was the valve that needed replacing and that required opening up my wall and $1000 price tag. I said I could not afford that and I made sure to ask that the faulty valve would not cause any more than the current leaking faucet in the bathtub. The plumber said yes it will still leak but into the tub. I paid for my service, and that was that. Fast forward to 2 weeks later, I come home to water leaking from the wall that is on the other side of the shower and a puddle on the floor. I immediately call Bardi and ask for someone to come right away. At first, they said they could get someone on Tuesday; I was calling on a Friday. After speaking with a supervisor who told me I still had to pay for the visit even though it was most likely caused by the plumber's error 2 weeks prior, I had him send the same plumber. As I waited, my boyfriend came over to inspect the work the plumber would do (I wish I had asked him over the first time, but I digress). The plumber finally arrived and was quick to tell me that he told me 2 weeks ago it was going to leak, I reminded him that I asked him and he only told me it would leak into the tub. The plumber heads to the bathtub and opens the faceplate with my boyfriend right behind him watching, and wouldn't you know? He was able to fix the cartridge this time, and now my bathtub doesn't leak! He did take $100 off, but I still had to pay $250. The plumber ended up installing the cartridge backward and my boyfriend had to go back in and fix the plumber's work. I will never use Bardi again nor would I recommend them. I also now am dealing with water damage in my living room due to their negligence that they do not seem to care about. Save your time, money, and headaches and use someone else! read more

I had a problem with the furnace. The tecchnician told it could be 1. themostat problem 2. furnace problem. Later he said it is some furnace issue. I was quoted 500$. Then I was forced to also install safety switch per code. Without that they will not do the work. Another 250$. I was given an option for new furnace as repair costs high, also but they did not pressurize me to this with all due respect. I called another technician and every thing worked by changing thermostat. He showed me there is infact safety switch. I am surprised even they mentioned it is thermostat issue they did not try to replace thermostat instead gave be expensive repair options. And they were trying to sell me a safety switch when one existed. Not happy at all. read more

So disappointed! We have had the "maintenance plan" with Bardi for a couple years for our heat and air, so when I called them regarding my hot water heater leaking I expected good service. I was wrong I called at 8:00am and was told someone would be there between 10 am and 2pm. They did not show up until 6pm with a quote so ridiculous that we went without hot water for another day. The next morning I got a different plumber for less than half the price with the exact same hot water heater as Bardi uses. Their plumbing dispatcher was rude to both myself and my husband on separate occasions to the point that we canceled our maintenance plan and will never use them for anything again. I called Bardi because my air was not working properly. I called for an appt. Friendly girl. Said they would be out between 8 and 10 am. I also informed her that the thermostat sucked and needs replacing. Perry called at 7:57 to say he has a flat tire and would be here asap. He arrived at 9:30. Before he could comment, I told him that I know the unit is old but was not interested in a new unit right away but maybe he could give me an estimate before he leaves. After 10 minutes, he says that I need coolant and it would cost between $500-$700 because they dont have what's needed because of the age of the unit. He asked about my credit and why I didn't want to replace the unit. I explained that when I do replace my unit it will be with a company who has serviced my old unit without a problem. I paid him the $68 he asked for. He never even asked about the thermostat. At least he was back on schedule read more
