I will never deal with them again. The salesman's name was Jeremy Trammell and he lied to us to make the sale and then stopped returning phone calls. Our air conditioning went out in June and they came and sold/installed a new one. They presented us with a deal which included a $1000 rebate on the system if we bought a combination furnace/AC; both units were very old, so we went for it. As soon as they were done with the installation, they stopped returning phone calls. They never sent up any paperwork regarding the financing, the monthly payments we were quoted were not accurate, and that rebate never came. So we started calling, for months, no one would return our phone calls. We have waited and called since the end of July. I've placed calls and left messages with their management, sales management, service management, general management; no one returned my calls. Today (Early october) a check showed up for $350. That's certainly nice, but not what we were promised. I can't help but feel that we got played. Yeah, the new system is nice and it was installed professionally, but the company did not act ethically and thats really unfortunate. Needless to say I will not do business with them again and I will be sharing this story at every opportunity. read more

So Chad comes out and recommends a whole new system, so next comes Mike who says that the system will have to be replaced and a new thermostat is needed. He also talks us into the Aeroseal duct sealing system which will spray glue up in the ducts and seal the leaks which on the quote was going to cost an additional $1,600.00. Ok...well Jason and Tony come out and install the system which they said would take about 4 hours and asked where all the vents were...(which we thought meant that they were going to seal them off so that when the Aeroseal was sprayed it would do what it needed)...8 hours later they are going around the house and taking off the vent covers and masking taping and silicone caulking the vents. When we asked about the Aeroseal, they said what they are doing is manually sealing the vents and they aren't doing the Aeroseal. They ended up running out of masking tape so one of the vents didn't even get fully sealed and one of the intake vents wasn't even done. Then they couldn't even charge the AC system because they didn't have whatever it was that they needed, so they said someone would contact us to take care of it. When we contacted Mike about the Aeroseal, we had texted him that the guys did an overall great job, but did a manual sealing instead of the Aeroseal and that we had a couple of other questions. He texted back "I mad a mistake with calling it what I did. The price I charge u for was what u got. The other is a more a duct cleaning and sanitizing service and I wants to seal ur boots for leaks. So the money u paid was exactly what u wanted. Hope everything works well." So that is not what he described on the first visit and we had read up on Aeroseal prior to the guys coming out...$1,600.00 on masking tape and silicone???? Plus, he never called to inquire what our other questions were. Finally we call Bardi to see when they are sending out someone to charge the system and schedule it so that the guy will be here between 12 and 2. We also ask about the Aeroseal price and are told that they don't get involved with the quoted prices....What??? A guy representing Bardi comes out and quotes a price on something and when you get something else they don't take responsibility? So even calling their office to get some help is useless. Well, Friday comes and 12 noon passes by and then 1 and then 2, finally I call at 2:30. They put me on hold to find out where the technician is....the guy comes back and says that he will have to call me back. Five minutes later, the tech that is supposed to have been here calls and says that he got held up with another customer and that he will be here in thirty minutes. Every other company I've dealt with has called if there is an issue that they are not going to be able to make the established window. Needless to say an hour later, the tech shows up. Luckily, it gave me time to finish my review. Everyone be careful. I don't usually write reviews when a company is bad....I just don't use them anymore, but it wasn't just bad, I feel like I was taken for a ride and I am now going to have someone independent come out and review the work that was done. UPDATE: The tech charged the system, but didn't take care of the vents! Now I have to call them out here again. Ugh. read more

Last week I made an appointment to get two AC unit serviced, I was given a window between 1 PM to 5 PM. I had to take leave to meet with rep. At 6 PM I finally get a call that the rep. was not going to make it. My time is not worth anything to this company. Bardi's service was not exemplary but their unauthorized debits despite my persistent notifications by phone and email for 5 months reflects poor business practices and disdain for customer services. I lived in Atlanta for 24 years before retiring and moving to California in January 2018. I had a maintenance plan for 12.97 a month which involved 2 maintenance checks every year and any other services required during the year. Bardi requires that their company deduct the fees automatically from your bank. I gave notice to cancel my maintenance plan in November 2017. When I saw that there was a deduction in December, I called the local office to remind them to stop deduction. Again inJanuary 2018, February,and March, and April,and May. Each month I called and sent emails to stop the deduction. My bill pay account is set up to pay just the bills due so when Bardi deducts their unauthorized payments it caused insufficient balance payment charges of $35 for each of 3 months. I will have to establish a stop pay for automatic debits from Bardi which costs me an additional $35. I wrote to the general email, I mentioned to the live chat operator and not response. The most annoying factor was that the person who responds to the phone calls is the dispatcher and she claims she does not know or have the number for their billing department and asked me for proof of the debit. Their service was not anyway better than the other companies like RS Andrews but I am trying to get a refund for the unauthorized payments for 6 months. read more

You couldn't ask for a better tech to service your furnace. Chris took the time to answer all my quesions and offered some great money saving tips to help with the budget. I was disappointed with the late arrival for the service. I had an appointment between 8-10 AM. I received a call around 9 telling me they had problems with a truck and someone would be here between 10-11. At 11:50 he arrived coming from another job. I know stuff happens and it wasn't through any fault of Chris, but I was told they only insure the first arrival of the day and I was the first scheduled appointment. Bottom Line: Horrible Experience and a BIG RIP OFF!!! I called this company to diagnose my ac unit which suddenly stopped working and I agreed to pay $68 for the diagnosis. Two technicians came in inspected the system and gave me solutions report. It says the starter comp (capacitor) need to be replaced and the quote was for whopping $728.00 I asked them more details and checked to see if they can give me breakdown of the equipment cost and the labor. They said they cannot offer such quote. Sensing something fishy, I decided to take second opinion and did some googling. Most people said replacing the capacitor is easy the equipment cost about $30. I decided to try this myself went and bought the compatible capacitor from Grainger for $21.00. It took about 30 minutes to replace it and got the ac unit up and running. What on the earth these people think before giving such estimates. The reason I am adding this review is to help people like me who does not know much about the ac units and rely of these companies. I'm not negating others' positive reviews; this is only from my only (and last) experience: Central A/C needed a capacitor; only after it was replaced was I presented with a bill for $252 just for this part, which they probably buy for under $40 (the housecall is $68 extra). Their marketing and website is slick and goes on about their "Core Values," with "Honesty" at the top. Their definition of that term must be very different from how I understand it, as they don't consider marking up a part by 500% as thievery. I do. Buyer beware. read more

I used this company twice for Hvac maintenance. The last time they were home, the technician dropped glue on the hallway carpet, damaging it beyond repair. They sent a carpet cleaning company which said that the glue would be impossible to remove, then the owner's son came to my home to see the damage, take pictures and a carpet sample in order to have a carpet company fix the hallway. This was back in March of 2015. There have been at least four different people "in charge" of handling the situation. Another person from the company came to get more carpet samples from the home. It's mid October, my carpet its still damaged and I got two holes in my closet carpets. The procrastination, disorganization, and complete disregard for customer service by management in this company make it a pathetic excuse for a choice when servicing your HVAC system. If you still decide to use them, pray that nothing goes wrong, otherwise you are SCREWED! read more

Made an appointment to fix A/C at 9AM and was told that the technician would arrive this afternoon, no problem. The staff was nice and they emailed me the insurance paperwork as well. At the end of the day they called to cancel. It's too late in the day for me to call other A/C repair companies which now means I'll be sleeping in the heat tonight. They asked if they could reschedule and I asked if they could at least come in the morning and get the work done. The response was no, and that they could try to come sometime NEXT WEEK. I wish they would've told me they couldn't do the job this morning so that I could have chosen another company and not have to sleep in the heat tonight. What a joke. read more

At first I was really happy with this company but found out they really switch and bait you. The sales when trying to sell you the systems would tell you that 10 years parts and labor are included, but then you will find out later that you have to continue their maintenance membership in order for them to honor their warranty. So at 2 systems that's 25 dollars a month although you've already spent so much money to replace them. I would never recommend or use this company again. The guy that is in charge of the Friends of Bardie membership program will tell you a totally different story than the sales guys. So please beware, If you want this company to stand by their warranty, then know that you will have to continue paying them monthly just for that. Just becareful when you sign up for their maintenance plan because they won't let you cancel it for a whole year. The person who sign you up will mislead you and make you think you can cancel any time. read more

Bardi seems like most of the other HVAC companies out there. They're only interested in selling you a new system. I've had them come to 2 of my properties for the same issue. My units just weren't cooling. The first tech, Gavier (with a G) was very professional and very competent. The tech who came to my second property, not so much. The first thing out of his mouth was,"You need new startup components and you should replace your system." The startup components seem to be this industries cash cow. It seems that EVERY system needs these replaced. I was quoted about $250...for a $20 capacitor. You've gotta make a living but jeez! Nevertheless, I declined both options and told him to just get some cold air flowing. A few hours and $475 later, he'd cleaned the coil and added a small amount of refrigerant. He says,"Yeah, the air from the vents is 62 degs so give it time to remove the humidity from the house." That night, the temp in my house got uo to 83 degs! I called Bardi to have someone come do it again. A day later, Gavier was sent to fix the other guy's mess. Gavier had the issue fixed in under 5 min. It was a clogged drain line that had triggered the unit's safety switch! In short, if you dare call Bardi request Gavier because some of their other techs leave a bit to be desired. read more

We had new ductwork, furnace and AC installed in November 2013. The installers worked hard to get us heat then. However, we have never had even heating or cooling despite 6 visits trying to address this and other things that were not done right. There is a big difference between one half of the house and the other and 2 bedrooms get very poor airflow. We were told to close floor vents in one room to fix the problem. We finally had an independent HVAC person come in who told us the problem was the unconventional design of the ductwork which made it impossible to get even heating and air throughout the house. Bardi designed and installed the ductwork. Then less than 2 years after installation Bardi told us we had a refrigerant leak and it would cost us about $1500 to determine where it was and an additional amount to fix it. We have had 2 other systems for over 15 years which never leaked. The technician said it was because WE did not clean the condenser monthly. We were never advised to do this. We later found out there is a recall for the coil which tends to leak. Did Bardi know this and were they trying get us to pay them to "find" and fix this problem? I always have great service from Bardi and my most recent experience was very positive. Marty came out for my semi-annual AC check. He was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. He was also extremely pleasant and NOT a pushy salesman. He gave me suggestions and quotes and things to think about but never once did I feel like he was trying to sell me something I didn't need. I scheduled a furnace tune-up with Bardi. The repairman was very friendly and professional. He immediately tried to sale me a new programmable thermostat. I wasn't bothered by that. I know that's what they do. He finished checking the furnace and told me everything looked fine except the blower. He showed me a picture of the blower with something wrapped around the top of the fan. When I saw the picture I knew what it was. It was material from an old filter that had been incorrectly installed. He then told me he tried to take it off, but he couldn't. He claimed it was stuck and the whole blower needed cleaning, and that was the only way to remove the debris. He even tried to scare me by saying my motor may burnout if it's not removed. He said the repair would be between $600 and $1100. I declined. After he left, I opened the panel and EASILY removed the debris. I guess he had to make up something since nothing was wrong with my furnace. I don't mind the attempt to upsell, but don't try to make a fool of me and definitely don't lie to me. Bardi is probably good at repairing, but they will never get my business again due to their deceptive selling tactics. Beware of the upsell. read more

Terrible customer service. I've had multiple poor experiences with the customer service side of Bardi. When the technicians actually come they do a great job, but the company is very poorly ran. Most recently, I've had trouble with my heat. It's working, but not working properly and costing me a lot more money in utilities each month due to the problem. My apartment manager setup an appointment for them to come check it out in early November. They called me 3 days before my scheduled time to reschedule to earlier in the day. Although it didn't really work for me, I complied. That morning the tech was calling me saying he had car trouble and couldn't get in touch with his on-call supervisor. I appreciated him letting me know, but the supervisor should have been available so they could have called me with a status update rather than a problem and no solution. He eventually came and figured out the problem, but needed a part they would have to order. Twenty-four days later, they called the apartment manager and said they had the part and could come fix it any time it was convenient for me. I gave my realtor the convenient times, and the appointment Bardi suggested was exactly opposite of my request. I couldn't make anything work until 4 days after the date they suggested. I couldn't be there, so I asked a friend for a favor. Bardi called me at the shortly after the appointment window began and said the tech was on his way and would be there in 30-40 minutes due to the traffic (the same traffic my friend sat in to go wait for them). About 40 minutes later, I got another call and expected they were there or almost there. Nope. They called to tell me they didn't actually have the part. They ordered it and never received it, yet they setup an appointment and sent their tech on his way. It would have been one thing if they had realized it that morning and let me know be for my friend drove 40 minutes in traffic and sat around for an hour just to drive back for nothing, but it's completely irresponsible to send someone on their way and figure out along the ride they don't have the part. It's barely even believable. They let my apartment manager know that they do actually have the part now, but wouldn't accommodate an appointment that works for me for another month even though the day they did not come and "didn't have the part," they assured me that they would work with my schedule to make an appointment and make up for this inconvenience. If they were reliable, then I wouldn't have a problem asking to go into work late or leave early, but I can't afford to do that multiple times when they don't show up and don't give advanced notice. It will be a minimum of 3 months they knew about this problem before it is fixed. I say minimum because I am not sure they will even show at the next scheduled appointment. No it's not an emergency as my heat is working for now, but they should be able to complete a job within a reasonable timeframe. I would not use this company if my HOA wasn't in a contract, but I also bet that's why I get poor service. I also wouldn't use this company if I were paying. I am in a rental property and knew all along I don't get much of a say since I don't own it, but since I'm going to have to deal with the poor service, I will make sure other people know to avoid this company. I have heard great things about Bardi from homeowners, the people who can choose to switch to a competitor if they don't receive good service. I find it funny that the apartment manager sets everything up, but they always contact me to change things or with bad news... The people handling the payments for my place don't see or have to deal with the poor service. I am positive Bardi would be more accommodating if we didn't have a contract and if I were writing the checks. Think twice before moving somewhere with a contract with Bardi. If you own your own place, exercise your option to shop around. I tried to reach out to Adam Bardi himself a month and a half before posting this, but I have yet to hear back from him. read more

Great Service, Very Overpriced: Installed a part that cost $17 on ebay and takes 10 minutes to install. Their charge $285 for the part plus the $138 for coming out on a holiday = total $423 for a job well done. Here and gone in 30-40 minutes. The technician was nice, personable, on time, called back after hours on a Sunday, and came on a holiday, but the price was much more than described over the phone. I was given the price and offered a maintenance plan after the job was done. The maintenance plan discounted the price of the service call to $64 and the part to $257, and added $156 for the maintenance plan. Total over $480. I have an appointment with a salesperson to give an estimate for a new unit, which, I am told will have a credit for the amount paid today. I am sure it will, but I shudder to think about the price of the bid that I will receive. Nice job, great service, but very overpriced. I would have imagined paying $75 for the part and $135 for service call (plenty for the time (2.5 hours driving and work) and gas and a $17 part. That is what I understood on the phone before he came out. I own a business that makes house calls, maybe we don't charge enough, but to me this is not the best way to try and secure the contract for the full replacement. read more

If I could rate them a zero, I would do it. Usually I have a couple of plumbers I use for my rental homes, but my new tenant had used Bardi and my other plumbers were not available at the time. I would consider them a scam more than a plumber. They required a credit card to hold the appointment, which they later told me was not applied towards work performed. I needed them to determine why I had plumbing issues in a rental unit. Instead they quoted me the price to replace my toilets and water heater. I can do that myself at home depot, so why would I pay them for that? I wanted to fix the problems, which another plumber did for $100! Even worse they told my tenants to leave so they could not complete any of the work while they were there, though they were adamant to me that I owed them a service call fee for that day and whatever day they could come back. They are absolutely the worst plumber with whom I have ever dealt. read more
