We had a wonderful experience with Daniel one of the plumbers with Home Defense plumbing. He was brought to our house because of our washer leaking. He arrived at exactly 9:30am as promised. Upon arriving and investigating he determined that the pipes needed to be snaked out and then discovered they were cast-iron pipes and would have to be replaced with PVC pipe. He had to jackhammer cement , go into the dirt, find the cast iron pipes, replace the pipes and pour new cement over the top. We have a whole new laundry room floor! He was here eight hours. He was a pleasure to work with. He cleaned up everything as he went and I think anybody would be proud to have an employee like this young man . To think he's only 28 years old and has this much experience. We are very blessed to have met him. read more

I had a PRV go bad allowing PSI to rise to 140. Appointment was made promptly. The technician was Mason. He called and texted his planned arrival time and he showed up as planned. He cut out the old PRV and efficiently replaced it. He took great care not to let water drain onto the floor by hanging a bag from the pipe to collect the water that dripped. While here he answered several questions and looked at my expansion tank on the water heater. It was full of water and told me how to replace it. Beware! Unfortunately I have to leave this review for Home Defense Plumbing. The owner is a great lumber but we have had two experiences with two different technicians that have left us unsatisfied. This last experience has caused damage to my dishwasher that they are not willing to pay for. Adrian said in good faith he sent 150 which we thought would cover the part. At this point ..I've spent over 300.00 trying to repair the dishwasher including the water inlet valve the main control board and heating element and the dishwasher still won't run. Why don't you be a man and admit your guy messed up. He shut off the dishwasher which had nothing to do with his scope of work. Adrian you have changed, you do good work, however when you hire guys on as the head person you assume the liability for them as well. I've worked for everything I have .. don't think for one second that I am trying to get a free dishwasher....it's about what right. We will have to move forward to handle this in court. If a business will not accept responsibility for damage caused by them, they should have you sign a waiver ahead of time so that issues like this won't occur. My dishwasher warranty expired a few weeks before this occurred. It was only a year old. read more

A solo journeyman, seemingly lacking expertise, was dispatched to our location. Throughout his visit, he was observed taking photographs and exchanging text messages, presumably seeking guidance and instructions remotely. This individual was recommended by our warranty provider. It appears their primary objective was to maximize charges from both the warranty and myself. We currently remain without heating. The technician replaced a PVR or PRV near the water shutoff. Concurrently, we were experiencing issues with our water heater pilot light failing to remain lit, for which the warranty covered parts and service. There was a notable lack of communication regarding the ongoing situation. The journeyman technician was instructed to inform me that a fireplate and bladder required replacement, and that approval was needed for a rooftop inspection to ascertain if an animal was obstructing the ductwork. Upon realizing their intent to propose various unnecessary repairs for the water heater, I declined and requested a second opinion. The technician then stated he had to depart as he was instructed to move on to another job. It is important to note that upon his arrival, he was also instructed not to proceed beyond the entry threshold until a $75 payment was collected. Subsequently, I received a notification from my warranty company alleging loose screws or a similar issue, which consequently disqualified me from coverage. read more

kitchen sink leak , warranty compamy sent out a technician who talked around the problem trying to upsell us outside of our warranty. trusting he would just fix The leak, we gave in. However , once he finished disconnecting everything under my sink & half way putting it back together. i notice A heavier leak than before leaking into my basement. a mess! So i go Up stairs to see how he left under my sink , & it was water everywhere! He didn't reattach things back properly , causing a bigger leak. when i reached out to notify them , a manger responds defensive & rude ! Defending their poor work , what in the h*ll ? You should be seeking how & what went wrong. poor customer service , poor experience, i can do these things myself but i always Find myself trying to support other businesses & good people then they let you down. read more

No surprise that the problems did not manifest themselves at the same time, so we appreciated the quick response to each of our three separate calls. First, Adrian and Juan repaired the copper pipes. Last week Jesse responded on a weekend to stop leaks from ducts. Today Daniel worked until late in evening to address leaks from a bathtub. The reason for the three stars is first the issues with working with them and Select Warranty company seemed a little shady and unprofessional. The warranty company wouldn't replace my hot water heater after receiving two different written findings from Home Defense of why it went out. Select Warranty then said they couldn't reach Home Defense Plumbing but I was able to get them immediately. I tried to explain to Home Defense that there was some type of misunderstanding and I was rudely told that they don't have anything to do with denials. I've been with warranty companies for a long time, they can be difficult to work with but that situation was very suspicious. After being denied, I received 3 quotes from different plumbers, 2 with written quotes describing exactly what would be done and Home Defense with no quote after continuously asking. Home Defense came back with a fairly low amount therefore I went with them. They came out right away and fixed the hot water heater, I was very happy with the service and how quickly it was done. Again after several attempts, I was then able to get an invoice/receipt. A few days later my son started hearing a whispering noise, it appeared to be coming from the hot water heater. I as well start hearing it too. I called Home Defense Plumbing and Jesse came out right away. I turned on the water to let him hear it and he discovered that it was the PRV valve. The other Plumbers had quoted me with the valve included in replacing the hot water heater that's why the price was higher. However because Home Defense never gave me the quote, I didn't realize that wasn't included. The lesson I learned from that never let anyone proceed to do anything for you without a written quote and be careful when a company lack professionalism. However, the reason I'm at least giving 3 stars is because the guy and I'm sorry I can't remember his name, did a great job installing the Hot water heater and JESSE the guy who later came out to install the new PRV valve did a great job as well. I REALLY WANT TO SAY USE THEM but they will lose business on the lack of professionalism, which comes across shady. THANK YOU JESSEE FOR A JOB WELL DONE AND REALLY EXPLAINING THE PROCESS AND THANK YOU HOME DEFENSE PLUMBING FOR MAKING IT RIGHT IN THE END. THEY SEEM TO TRULY STAND BY THEIR WORK AS WELL, WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!! So in saying all of that, use them just make sure you know everything that's being done up front. read more
