One slice of toast with the 2 egg order
Natalie R.

Restaurant was clean attractive. Came in for breakfast before an early flight. Service was lacking especially since it was near empty. Friendly but inefficient. Not the servers fault but they do not offer ANY hot tea products. Just coffee. Didn't bring my toast with the meal, chatted and visited with others then brought me my check and I had to ask for the toast. Not the servers fault either but it is ONE slice of toast. When I commented, she was cheerfully let me know that's "just how it is". Whatever you're saving on a slice of toast isn't worth it in poor perception.

Sandwich sadness
Marc D.

I consider myself something of a seasoned devotee of Bardenay Distilling Co.--a loyal regular of their Eagle outpost, a pilgrim at the altar of their cocktails. So when I found myself at the Boise airport location, I arrived with hope in my heart and hunger in my soul. What followed was... a journey. Upon arrival, we were greeted not by a host, but by a sign. A simple command: "Seat Yourself." And so we did, like obedient travelers in a culinary choose-your-own-adventure. Minutes passed. Six? Ten? Time lost meaning. No greeting. No acknowledgment. Just the quiet hum of airport existentialism. Then, like a plot twist in a low-budget thriller, a woman appeared--not to welcome us, but to silently place a "section closed" sign nearby. No words. No eye contact. Just vibes... ominous vibes. She vanished as quickly as she came. More time passed. Finally, she returned to inform us that--surprise!--the section was closed and we needed to move. At this point, I can only assume we had unknowingly wandered into the domain of a Sith Lord. Her demeanor suggested she might force-choke the cocktail menu at any moment. Hospitality? Not her chosen path. The dark side? Strong. We moved. But then--salvation. Our actual server arrived, a beacon of warmth and competence in this otherwise emotionally complicated saga. Attentive, pleasant, and efficient, she single-handedly restored my faith in humanity (and airport dining). Now, the food: The chorizo soup? A triumph. Bold, flavorful, a spicy hug in a bowl. I would cross state lines for it. The dip sandwich? A tragedy. Limp. Spiritless. It didn't just make me sad--it made me reflect on sadness itself. The Bloody Mary? Perfectly... acceptable. It existed. It did its job. We nodded at each other. In the end, this was a meal of extremes: light and dark, joy and despair, soup and sandwich. Would I return? Yes--because I believe in redemption arcs. But next time, I may bring a lightsaber... just in case. (saved by the server and the soup)

Black bean & sweet potato chimichanga
Dana S.

Decided to eat here in the Boise Airport because the black bean & sweet potato chimichanga sounded good. I was not disappointed. Very tasty, good enough that I would've been happy even if I wasn't in an airport. The tortilla was fried to a delightful crisp. It wasn't spicy at all despite the jalapeños (maybe a HINT, but not anything you'd notice unless you're extremely sensitive to spice), which is probably a good thing for when you're about to get on a flight. Not too salty either. Also, as far as chimichangas go, it would probably be hard to get healthier than this. The side spinach salad (which is a smaller version of the pear spinach salad on the menu, just without the pears) was almost as notable as the main dish. I loved the balsamic-orange glazed walnuts. After tax, before tip, it was about $16.5, which I thought was an entirely reasonable price for this fairly large portion, even if it had not been served in an airport. My waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was reasonably fast. I've definitely had faster in airport restaurants where the food is clearly premade, but this was quick enough for a full service, seemingly freshly cooked meal.

French dip sandwich with a side of spinach salad.

I really enjoyed my meal here. I got the Bardenay dip. My goodness! This was delicious. It came with a choice of fries or salad. I got a spinach salad that came with pear, candies nuts, and gorgonzola cheese. Wow! So yummy. The sandwich itself was delicious. The sirloin was tender and so flavorful and the foccacia was soft and so delightful. I would have probably used a firmer bread so I could dip this more easily but it was still so good. The au jus was perfectly seasoned, with a hint of rosemary. Service was great and it's a great chill spot to grab a meal at the airport.

Bruschetta salad was fantastic
William C.

For an airport restaurant BarDeNay was a pleasant surprise. They have a lot of good things going for them and just a few minor negatives. They have a full bar, several wine options and a reasonably good beer selection. I was especially happy with the food. The Bruschetta salad with champagne vinaigrette dressing was fantastic and the recommended "Dip" sandwich was equally good. Unfortunately, the fries were not a good as everything else. There are plenty of servers on duty so you shouldn't have to wait. In spite of that my server, who was extremely pleasant and helpful when it came to the food and beverage options, seemed to disappear for periods of time. The other relatively minor issue is the condition of the furniture. Some of the seats had tears and looked rough. I'm probably being a little harsh since it's an airport restaurant and I always grade these on a curve. Since I was so happy with the food and drinks. I will absolutely recommend this place. I only hope that the management sees this and fixes a few minor things. Then it would be 5 stars (for an airport restaurant).

Fish tacos

It is a shame that there are not a lot of options t the airport. I ordered fish tacos, but it was more like burnt rubber served on a tortilla. There's no way the cooks could think the fish was overcooked. Just plain old laziness and lack of care maybe. They remade my meal and sent me raw fish instead. Can't make this crap up ‍

Always love stopping here before flying out. I'm not a huge breakfast eater and they are always willing to do a side of bacon and toast. Their bacon is awesome! Service has always been nice and fast. Good selection of beers and wines. No hard alcohol before 10 or 10:30am. From what I can tell, they open at 5am, which is different from everything I've seen online.

I have visited this restaurant in the Boise airport on several occasions this year and it's certainly one that I enjoy relaxing at and taking in a food or drink while I wait for my flight. The prices are reasonable, and the service is always good as well as a good variety of menu options to choose from for being an airport location. They also have their own distilled gin and vodka that they make creative cocktails with and I enjoy the skewers for a lite bite.

This place is in a great location just past TSA checkpoint. It has a grea view of all aircrafts landing and taking off! A view of all Alaska Aline's flights! The service here was great and when asked about different foods, they gave an opinion and answer. Beer was tasty and refreshing plus water was provided when asked for. Price is normal for airport eateries! It was well worth it for the 3 and a half hours I had to wait for my second flight out! I will recommend and I will be back!

Stopped in for a glass of wine prior to departure. Not a bad deal at 8.50/glass for airport wine! Service was quick and friendly too!

From the moment you step inside, the place has that quintessential speakeasy feel. The ambiance is dark, moody, and eclectic, with vintage touches throughout. One feature that really caught my eye was a stunning cove-like structure that added so much character to the space. The menu was just as impressive as the décor -creative, varied, and full of unique cocktails that felt thoughtfully designed rather than your standard bar offerings. They even have a few "secret" drinks hidden on the menu, and the staff will happily tell you how to find them, which is a fun touch.Since another reservation was due to arrive in about 40 minutes, we kept it to two cocktails, which was perfectly fine as we were only stopping in for a nightcap. Both drinks were beautifully crafted. I especially loved The Canvas ,it was bright, refreshing, and memorable. My husband wasn't quite as enthusiastic about his cocktail, though he's generally not one to send a drink back or complain. The staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout our visit. Pricing felt fair for the quality of the cocktails and the overall experience.

Booking was easy and they followed up to get the other member in my parties name and what we were celebrating. It was an interesting and fun new experience to learn about the artist and how it relates to each dish. I loved this aspect as it was like no other I've experienced in the past. Everything we ate was a 10/10. Beautiful presentations, thoughtful flavors, loved hearing about the farms they pick at. The weakest link in my opinion was sadly the dessert but honestly I was so full from everything else I wasn't that bummed. The way they served it with everyone being served at the same time was awesome. I loved that they offered and NA pairing as well since I don't drink anymore. My husband loved the wine picks. The granola gift at the end was lovely. Highly highly recommend this restaurant if you're a foodie. You truly won't have a better dining experience in Idaho is my guess!

And for the drink I tried their "I think therefore I Yam". Food wise, I was a bit disappointed with the beef tartare because I was hoping some meat in it. Menu didn't say it was vegetarian.. so when I got it was scrambling for beef but there's none. Although it was still decent and flavorful. Ramen was also okay, the choice of noodles they use is usually the noodles you see on a stir fry noodles, not on soup. Noodles were undercooked and barely any soup to sip. The pork belly was hard and a bit overcooked. Chicken skewers were good and so as the beef skewers. They were tender. Staff were okay, but also didn't seem too welcoming. When our server gave us the menu, he seemed like he didn't even want to be there. So yeah idk. If I were to come back here again, I'd get the skewers and the I think therefore I Yam drink.. but that's about it.
