5/5! Decided to visit RTC for lunch and try a restaurant I've never had before. Barcelona had very good reviews, so I decided to stop by and give it a shot! I can say, this is one of the best restaurants in the town center! The restaurant is known for their Tapas, but they do have larger dishes as well. The Food: With this place being known for their tapas, I went with a few to try out for my first time. I went with the Albondigas, Lobster Risotto, Patatas Bravas, Jamon & Manchego Croquettas and the Paella Mariscos (Half). All of the tapas were delicious in their own way, from the flavor and how well they were cooked. My favorite was the Lobster Risotto and the Paella Mariscos! The Service: The service was great! The staff were attentive and kind when greeting my party. And, orders were out to us within a timely manner. The Atmosphere: The atmosphere was very nice! Nicely decorated inside giving you a nice modern and authentic feel. Plenty of seating with tables and the bar area looked nice as well. Overall, a 5/5! Just visited this restaurant with a friend and absolutely loved it. I've been to the DC branch of this restaurant many years ago. We were here for and early lunch and found the service and ambiance to be amazing. Here is what we ordered: - Patatas Bravas: this was delicious. My absolute favorite thing at the restaurant. Perfectly seasoned and flavored. - Cauliflower: another amazing thing on the menu. - Spinach and chickpeas cazuela: I wasn't a fan of this dish. It just didn't taste very good. We met at Barcelona Wine Bar for lunch in Reston Town Center. I love that it so close to the parking garage and overlooks the park area. We were seated outside immediately upon arriving. We had peach mimosas and a variety of tapas. Highly recommend the chorizo and fig, and the potato tortilla. My friend was gluten free so we didn't order, but normally I also get jamon and manchego croquettes and the patatas bravas. Speaking of, the restaurant handled my friend's gluten allergy extremely well. They marked a menu with the items she could eat, sides that could be subbed for vegetables, and potential cross contamination. read more

A very up scale restaurant. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The staff waited on us immediately. The server was at our table within 3 minutes of us being seat. He went out the menu and gave us the wait time for each area of the menu. We received hot bread and olive oil, which was delicious. The Potato Tortilla was full of flavor, you can distinguish the taste between the potatoes and the onions. We ordered the Parillada Barcelona which comes with Strip Steak, Chicken, Pork Loin, and Gaucho Sausage. This feed four people. The Gaucho Sausage tasted like bratwurst from Germany. Only one thing we sent back was the Chicken, we felt like it needed to be cooked longer. read more

Been to this location a bunch of times since moving to the DMV. It's pretty out of the way to travel to Reston- truth be told, the DC one is far closer for me. But being able to park easily is a winner. Last time I was here was over the past weekend- we ordered about 6 dishes and had 2-3 glasses of wine each. The atmosphere is what draws me to this place- the large but very cozy bar with knowledgeable and friendly bartenders, with a rustic finishing touch here and there- makes for a great casual date night. The food is also great- a bit pricey for what it is but still worth it when considering the totality of experiences. The eggplant caponata is my favorite- goes so well with their house bread! All the other dishes I've tried have been lovely but I wouldn't get the boring green beans again. read more

Came here for an early dinner with friends and the placed was packed. I highly recommend a reservation as this place is very busy. We started with a few drinks before the full party arrived. The bartender was nice and quick with the drink. Since this was the first time trying this place, we started slow and ordered a few tapas to gauge how much food each plate was. We started off with patatas bravas, sautéed spinach and chickpeas, chicken croquettes, and spiced beef empenadas, and brussel sprouts. Everything was good besides the potatoes. We also ordered the paella salvaje which takes about 45 minutes after you order it to arrive so that was the first thing we put in. After the first round of tapas, we ordered a few more plates. Lobster croquettes, flank steak, and short rib. We finished with the cheesecake and flan. The cheesecake was really good. Flan was meh. I'd say the star of the show was the paella. It had tons of flavor and I would have eaten more if I had anymore room in my belly. As the clock hit 7:00pm, the lights got dim and music started blasting. We realized the place had tons of folks waiting for a table and this was peak hours. We felt a bit rushed towards the end as they had tables to fill. Every time I come to Barcelona, I have a great time. Our server, Angie, was fantastic. She made recommendations, was knowledgeable of the menu, and dealt with multiple large parties while managing to check in on us consistently. A lot of the plates here are saltier, I would recommend the labneh for a light break between everything else. The sangria pitchers are a steal (the rose is my favorite). Very few things on the menu are a miss and I would highly recommend coming here! read more

WOW THE FLAVORS OF THE TAPAS! Fantastic food and excellent wine selection! We tried three different non-domestic whites and all were tasty. First, they bring you a high quality evoo with yummy rustic bread to dip. We ordered the truffle honey goat cheese and it was AMAZING. Our close second fave was the chimichurri steak, tender and delicious. The duck medallions were cooked perfectly rare. The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place was absolutely delicious! I love tapas style restaurants so I can try as many things as possible! The serving size for each dish was perfect for sharing for 3-4 people. Our server was very nice and even took care of us when I accidentally spilled wine on our charcuterie board. He replaced the board for us right away and helps us clean the table up a bit! Our favorite plates of the night were the crispy Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and pulpo arancini For the charcuterie we all really enjoyed the jamon Serrano, aged Mahon, and Delice de Bourgogne. I have heard wonderful things about Barcelona Wine Bar and finally had the chance to try it. When we arrived we were welcomed by friendly staff and seated right away without reservations. The ambiance was moody/hip and really impressed me while also setting the stage for the delicious food and drinks we were about to have! For drinks, we started off with the bourbon spice rack and summer street sling. It was clear that they care about quality drinks and have quite talented/knowledgeable bartenders. Both cocktails were delicious with the bourbon spice rack being our favorite. We then moved onto some bubbly and dove into numerous small plates. All of the food was phenomenal. The pork belly literally melted in our mouths and the flank steak had a great citrus flavor. The pollo pintxo was super tender from the yogurt marinade and the dill aioli was tasty. The mussels were yummy and unique. I feel like most places focus on garlic with their mussels but Barcelona did an incredible job by adding a next level of flavor with sofrito. Our other favorites were the patatas bravas (garlic aioli so good you may want to drink it) and brussel sprouts. We wanted to enjoy the glazed sweet potato but all agreed they were entirely too sweet. I think the only con that really stood out to me was the eagerness of wait staff to take our plates when they were often times not finished. We ended up stumbling upon Barcelona reston one night while we were stuck in the area because of a cancelled flight. It was a great location to grab a quick bite and the food was delicious and the service was extremely friendly and helpful. Barcelona reston has a decent amount of seats both inside and outside and we were able to walk in on a Monday night and get seated inside with no problem even though it was pretty busy. We ended up splitting 4 tapas and the kitchen even sent out one complimentary tapa to our table. I enjoy the food here! They have many small plates to choose from. You gotta try the patatas bravas - crispy potatoes, umami garlic aioli sauce, and a pretty good portion size (I think it could adequately feed 3-4 people). I think the seafood paella is worth trying if you haven't tried it before! The paellas take longer to come out than the tapas which are relatively quick. Complimentary bread and olive oil are also given with the meal. I think it might depend which area you're seated in but the vibes of the right side of the restaurant are low lighting, crowded, and loud (even on a week night). The servers were all very nice and helpful. If you're looking for a more elevated meal than your typical, try coming here! read more

Would have been a good experience but me and my friend got harassed by a patron at the bar. The bartenders continued to serve him alcohol and he sat next to us harassing us, which was obvious. We asked for the check and they took forever which made the situation escalate between the drunk person and us. We told the bartenders and they just ignored his behavior. Despite us spending $100 on food and wine and still wanting to stay there and get more food and wine we had to leave because of this patron. Not a woman friendly bar. Barcelona staff doesn't care about female patrons and cares more to serve alcohol to the male patrons harassing women at their bar. read more

Starting with the Paella, loaded with calamari, mussels, clams and shrimp, it was cooked to perfection, especially the rice, it was so flavorful and had that touch of "spelling". socarrat, the crunchy rice at the bottom of the pan. We tried the albondigas meatballs, the croquettes with potatoes and jamon ham on top of an aioli to die for. We also had shrimp ajilo (garlic shrimp) my wife's favorite, and Chimichurri flank steak, tender cuts of meat with their chimichurri sauce. My favorite the beef empanadas we ordered these multiple times! We also tried the patatas bravas awesome, and they had that delicious aioli also! We finished with the lomo iberico ham, very tasty. For dessert we order the arroz con leche rice pudding, corn panacotta, and the burnt basque cheesecake, tasty but not the best. Overall a great dining experience, took off a star for two reasons, the desserts weren't so special, and their A/C wasn't working and hasn't been working for a while! Love the tapas here! We went for Mother's Day dinner and had great service from our server. The bread basket was never empty! The sheep's cheese was a must try on the menu, although I think it's different than what we had in the past before. The albondigas and broccolini are also going to be a must get the next time we come here! We got the non-seafood paella and it was very good! Came for Sunday brunch with a group. Surprisingly, at noon, we were only 2 tables in the restaurant. The restaurant began to fill around 1, so if you don't want a crowd, go early. The tapas were all delicious per usual. Our server Cole was so friendly, attentive, and suggested we try the olive oil cake - which turned out to be amazing (and it's warm!) The DC Barcelona locations really have a lot to learn from Reston. All-around experience is always good here and consistent. There were so many tapas, many of which would have never been ordered if we all ordered 2-3 individually. The highlights for me were the labineh, pork belly, bone marrow, and marinated beef. The beet salad and burrata were also very good and a well needed break from protein. We had the meat paella and it was amazing, the crisp on the pan was perfect and the flavors were perfect. The service staff was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and is pretty large overall. Came here for a dinner and was not disappointment. Our server was excellent the entire time, always making sure we had enough drinks and food on the table. The only issue we ended up having was the table got too small for the food, I do wish they would have staggered the dishes coming out a bit more to allow us a little more time in between bites. The food itself was excellent- we started with a charcuterie plate of a smoked goat cheese along with chorizo and serano ham, all of which tasted fresh and was sliced perfectly. NOMSSSS! I loved everything we ordered, as all items had a lot of flavor. We had to repeat some of the tapas because it was so delicious. Of all the tapas, I would say the whipped sheep's cheese was my favorite. I loved how light the cheese was, but it had a truffle honey that was drizzled on it, which was perfection. Barcelona Wine Bar is the rare chain that manages to actually feel like an intimate dining experience. My wife and I tried it out for the first time on a Sunday for brunch, and will definitely be coming back. Waiter was friendly and fun. We were seated immediately- we had a reservation but didn't wind up really needing it. I could see this being different for dinner. Aesthetically, the space feels modern and ~ trendy ~. Even though it was maybe 12:30 in the afternoon, the speakers were kind of blasting random club music. We both agreed that better music would have helped the vibes - or even no music at all. Wine was good - I only had a glass this visit because we had errands to run, so I'll do a deeper dive on a subsequent visit. I had the 2018 Nucerr Reservo Tempernilo, wife had the 2019 Marques de Tomarez. We then split a glass of the Penalolin, which was probably our favorite. We split about the amount of tapas recommended by the server for a filling meal. Highlights were the beef empanadas and the sheep's cheese. Shakshuka was tasty but not like the more middle eastern style I'm used to - this was more veggie-forward with less of a sauce. Shishito peppers are always a welcome app. Patatas Bravas were great but filling, so we had plenty to take home. This area is really lacking in wine bars, and Barcelona scratches that itch. I'm eager to return and try more wine and plates. But like please find some better music. read more
