My husband and I have been hearing rave reviews about this place from all sorts of people lately, so we decided we had to check it out! We got there around 11 a.m. on a Saturday, hoping to try some donuts. We should've known better -- as with most places local places that have great donuts, Barb's donut selection was sparse by 11:00. We each got one to try, and they were really tasty! Fresh and flavorful. However, we were admittedly bummed that there wasn't more variety. We'll have to try here again soon -- this time earlier in the morning! For the record, all the cupcakes and cookies looked AMAZING, so we'll have to come back for these sometime too :) read more

Mothers Day Heard this place is known for their cakes so I had to stop to find out for myself. I ordered a Mothers Day cake and is was better than expected. It was the best cake I ever had and everyone loved it. I will never go anywhere else for my baked goods!!! read more

I am writing this review strictly on the customer service I received when I called. I called to discuss a cake for my wife's birthday, a man answers who I have a hard time understanding. I couldn't tell if he had an accent or just spoke very poor english. He basically says, "what do you want?" to which I replied I wanted to discuss a cake for my wife's birthday. He responds with, "we are too busy. want a cake next week?" To say he was abrupt and had no interest in assisting me is an understatement. Based on other reviews it sounds like the quality of the baked goods is amazing. But that assumes you get to someone able and willing to speak to you with common courtesy and you are able to place an order. Needless to say I did not place an order nor will I ever attempt to again. read more

I came here and got a cake for my teenage daughter's 18th birthday. I meant to make it special and bake her a cake, but we were leaving for Disneyland the next morning and I simply ran out of time to contend for the 'Mom of the Year' awards in my house, so I did the next best thing and I went to Barb's Bakery to get a cash and carry cake. Since there were only 6 of us at her little party I opted for a new offering at Barb's; miniature 6" cakes for around $12. It was a beautiful, pure white cake with elegant white roses and piped drapes and beading. It was a sight to behold in its monochromatic simplicity! My daughter was very impressed with her tiny creation in pure white. The only drawback about the cake was the taste of the frosting, it didn't have any kind of a special flavor, like Barb's cakes normally do, it was just plain and sweet. Not even a vanilla flavor. This seems odd for Barb's so I'm almost wondering if someone forgot to add vanilla flavoring to that frosting batch? If it's on purpose then I'd politely suggest adding some kind of extract to the frosting as it just needs something more to really take it from a simply 'good' cake to a 'delicious' cake. Just my two cents! Otherwise my little cake was perfect and my daughter thought it was beautiful, thanks! read more

We had been having a difficult time finding Bear Claws with almond filling. Barb's Bakery has them and many more tasty donuts and pastries! We haven't tried the other cupcakes and desserts yet, but they look delicious. The staff are very helpful and if you are looking for something specific, you can call ahead to preorder. We will definitely be visiting again to satisfy our sweet tooth cravings! read more

Barb's been here for 38 years and hasn't lost it's touch! Took a dear friend that's been in the Valley for a number of years but never heard of it. We each ate a Danish and took some home-if that tells you anything! Can't go wrong! Reason for 4 stars is I feel it's time to remodel or spruce it up. Your interior doesn't need to look 38 years old. read more

Barbs was great, initially put wrong flavor called day before and they happily fixed. Grabbed a few cupcakes while waiting and they were delish. Tried the Black Forest and German Chocolate, they are rich, moist and didn't last long. read more

I never knew Barb's was this close to my work! The cupcakes are very reasonable priced (less than $1.5 to $2.25 each) and they are decorated so CUTE. I bought all chocolates (2 chocolate, 2 brownie sundae, and 2 red velvet)! They have much more than just cupcakes! Cakes, brownies, donuts, etc. Anything baked!!! The employees are so nice and helpful too! read more

I held a dessert bridal shower with 36 different cupcakes, brownies, macaroons and 12 wedding ring cookies from this bakery. Not only did every one from the party ask where these items came from they all raved about how delicious everything was. I have a major sweet tooth and am VERY picky about my sugary calorie intake =) I usually go to tammy co or make birthday cake's myself (i come from a mother that was a phenomenal baker), but it was my boyfriends 30th so I wanted something special, different, yummy and reasonably priced. I am SO SO SO happy that people suggested this place! WOW! Thank you Barb's bakery! The cake looked so beautiful, just what I wanted and everyone raved about the cake and how delicious it was! I do NOT recommend Barb's bakery at all! If I could give them ZERO stars I would. Consider this situation: You order a cake for a black tie party and pay over $400 for it (Small two tier cake, circumference of about 10 inches) On the day of the event, you pick up the cake and the decorations look like they've been drawn on by a two year old. $400 for a cake with poor decorations?? The whole point of going out and getting a cake from a bakery is to have it professionally done. If I wanted it to look homemade with the help of children, I would've done it myself. It's too late now so you take the cake to the event and THOUSANDS of pictures are taken with this ugly cake, forever immortalized. There's no going back now. You contact the bakery via phone and email and get ignored for a week UNTIL you leave a review on yelp. They then inform you that they decided to try a NEW TECHNIQUE that they had NEVER TRIED BEFORE on your $400 cake. UM OKAY? If I wanted to be a guinea pig, again, I would've gone with a whole different option! And again, a new technique, they saw how poorly it turned out, AND STILL HANDED THE CAKE OVER AS IF IT WAS ACCEPTABLE?! Like what??? They refund $50 of the $400+ you paid for the cake. LOL really?? Again, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BAKERY. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! You will NOT be happy with the results and they will NOT try to make it better. Unless you're looking to pay $400+ for a cake you could've make at home, STAY AWAY read more

Terrible Service! I ordered desert over a week ahead of time on-line as no-one answered phone. Got a conformation for order that said to confirm order 2 days ahead of time, I called 3 days ahead during business hours on a weekday and left a message, no return call. E-mailed plus called and emailed again with no reply until today, Thanksgiving. I received an email that "We are sorry but closed for the weekend" three days before I have 36 people for a dinner and no dessert. REDICULOUS! I think I have been going to Barbs 25+ years, Barb was awesome when she was there. I have referred so many people over the years, never again! read more

Horrible communication. I called on Dec 6 to inquiry about a custom cake order for Dec 24. I was told it was possible ( a cake mold without fondant) but to send an email to get a quote ( I also included an image of the cake). I sent emails on Dec 6, and December 9th (and also called on December 9th) to follow up on the inquiry because I had not heard back. I was then told I would hear back by Monday (Dec 12). I did not receive any email response until December 14 (wedesnday) asking about a budget for the cake and that fondant was only possible. After a couple more emails to clarify my size and budget for the cake, I was finally given a quote on December 18. Unfortunately the cake was not within my desired budget, and now I am stuck quickly looking for a quick that I need by the end of the week. I began my cake search early because I knew it may need time during the holidays. IT SHOULDNT TAKE nearly 2 weeks to get a quote! I won't return to this establishment again. read more

Disappointed in customer service. Placed an initial order for 12 custom cookies, but called to change it to 15, but was told can only order in multiples of 12 for customer print cookies. No problem there, I ordered 24. Picked up order today and only 23 cookies were there. Called to inform them as FYI that I only received 23 right after leaving and was told jokingly by woman on the phone someone must have ate one...and that was it. read more

I have been coming here for quite a while to get treats for our office Birthday's each month. I prefer to use local businesses whenever I can. Recently I ordered a cake for my dear friend. I usually go to LGO when I want something awesome, but I decided to give Barb's a shot. I was not disappointed. I ordered a gorgeous carrot cake and it was a hit.
