An exceptional find in downtown Oshkosh if you're looking for more upscale, yet casual dining. Don't let the bar stigma bother you. The menu is a bit short, but I'd recommend the black and Bleu burger or the shrimp tacos if they have them when you visit. The atmosphere is fantastic and rather cozy, yet spacious, with a very impressive bar setting. It's modern, hip, a little bit rustic, and I love it. For you that are curious, a burger and fries will set you back about $11, but well worth it. read more

We would have liked to have eaten there, but got such a run around on whether or not they take reservations and then a Hostess just hung up on my wife. I doubt we miss much. read more

Great hand muddled drinks, fabulous brisket burger, sautéed Brussels sprouts and risotto. Great service. Consistently excellent.

Great food, horrible service. After waiting 20 for my check I was told to go to the bar by my waitress. Went to bar and they had no idea what my bill was. Should have just walked out but instead I not only paid my tab but regretfully left a tip. read more

Friendly staff, but honestly we were never sure who was actually waiting on us. Went for brunch, we all had to ask to have our drinks refilled multiple times...not one of the 3 people that came to our table initially, or with the drinks, or the guy who took our order, or the girl who brought us our food ever came back to ask how everything was. The food was just okay. Chicken and waffles described as a Belgium waffle...it was more like frozen waffle, very thin and not crispy at all. The only think that was actually hot on that plate was the chicken. Would I go back? Probably not. If I'm going to spend $70 I'd like to not have to ask to have my coffee refilled, or wonder who to tip. read more

Bar 430 was awesome! Great service (Vanessa was friendly and so informative)! Great menu, we had appetizers and lunch. The drinks were delishious and affordable!! Fun atmosphere!!! Well worth the visit!! read more

I really like fish tacos and so I sample them whenever I get a chance. Of all of the fish tacos I've had in the area these are by far the best. Actually the best I've ever had anywhere, including Hawaii & California. Good job Bar 430! read more

Spectacular. Good by Beckets. The food the service everything was awesome yum seared scollops. We will be back.

Great drink selection and tasty food. Everything has had though put into the ingredients and the plating is nice. The staff is friendly (if a little frantic when it gets busy) and the atmosphere is pleasant. I could really make this my regular bar. read more

I go here all the time. It's really only ever just myself or a friend so we get pretty quick service. When it gets busy sometimes things can slow down a bit, but the food and drinks are awesome, great atmosphere and the staff is always friendly. A good neighborhood bar. read more

Terrible service!! How is this acceptable? Food is decent, but not worth the frustration.

The food and drinks are very good. I like the interior space as well. I've always had fun here. Try it, you'll like it!

Fresh atmosphere. Exactly the type of place that Downtown Oshkosh needed. Sunday Brunch is where it's at. Bartenders rock too.

Stopped by for a drink on an early Sunday afternoon. The bartender asked if we would like the brunch...who am I to disappoint a bartender? The service was friendly and efficient. The food was very good and with a Minneapolis type menu. Nice find in downtown Oshkosh. We weren't expecting this but, we will be back to try a few more things on the menu. Would have given a 5 star but the crust on the "Hangover Pizza" was just too well done. Good but, on the heat for a few minutes too long. read more

Good food and drinks. Bartenders always seem to be good as well as freindly. They really make you feel welcome and comfortable sticking around for a bit. read more

Dope spot for a small town. They have a variety of drinks I didn't expect they could make wings are bomb. Service is excellent only reason I'm giving a 4 star is cause the curried nachos are a** read more

This is a great place. The bartendar/server was very friendly and helpful. The duck tacos and beer baytered cheese curds were delicious! I would defiantly come back next time in town. read more

I've only had the cheese curds here, as far as food. But they're great. The old fashioneds were a bit overpriced, so I stick w/ soda when I go here. But it's a great atmosphere. The service has always been pretty good. read more

Bartender girl was rude! We went there after farmers market to get a drink and lunch. We got a table, server got our drinks, but couldn't order food until 1:30. No problem. We waited till 140 to order food ... couldn't find server, so we approached bartender and told her we would like to order ... she said go sit down your server will get ur order ...but said it so rude and hateful. Lost our business! read more

An unexpected gem! Fantastic burger, great cheese curds and yummy truffle fries! Definitely will be back! read more

Bar 430 - Bacon Burger - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Oshkosh, Wisconsin

bar 430 is cute cute but seating is limited. the food there is good, especially the spinach and artichoke dip plus the cauliflower bites

I came here with my partner, ordered a margarita on the rocks understanding they might not be able to do that. Vanessa accommodated me immediately and made a delicious margarita on the rocks for me, even though it was just a mix it tasted great. Kendall was very nice as well. I asked about putting a lower tempo music on and she suggested jazz, it was like she read my mind. Not to mention, the blue berry lemonade my partner ordered was better than mine! I highly suggest a visit here the atmosphere is great. We even sat in the way back we were quite hidden, and the server came to us right away! read more

Stopped in here one Saturday after the farmer's market while in town visiting family. Unfortunately, on Saturdays, there is a 45 minute window between brunch and lunch where no food is served, but the location is great. We sat at the bar and I ordered one of their mules, which was pretty good. Others in my party had beer and a Bloody Mary, which looked fantastic. The food was a bit pricy, but the fried cheese curds were amazing and the fish tacos were a surprisingly large portion. read more

Food is pretty decent here, we just haven't had the best luck getting good service when ordering food. I was there with a group for brunch one Saturday (not during the farmers market), we told the server we'd need separate checks from the beginning. Once it was time to get our bills it took the server about 15 minutes to get it straightened out for the 6 of us (4 total bills). She then explained that they don't separate checks for parties bigger than 4, okay then, tell us from the beginning when we informed you? The drinks are good, but I don't know if we'll get food for a while. read more

Modern menu and EXTREMELY reasonable prices! I had the hummus & guacamole app, curried chicken wrap and a Moscow Mule. Without sounding offensive, I DO NOT recommend the guacamole. Everything else was on point, the waitress was a doll and the prices were refreshingly low. read more

Definitely going to miss this joint as I'm graduating this week I wish I came here more often while I was in college. For the times I had the chance, the food was always fresh and unique compared to other bars on main street. Loved the mushroom ravioli, sweet potato hash, and their apps especially their fused meatballs! Also make a solid bloody mary which is always a plus! Great atmosphere the place seemed to always be packed when I went. read more

Seriously disappointed in how poorly trained the entire staff was. The food was great, but literally every person working the front was clueless about how to: (1) greet customers that are there for the first time (2) keep customers that have waited WAY TOO LONG for their orders aware that YOU are aware we've waited way too long (3) have the decency to offer additional water to customers that have waited WAY TOO LONG for their food and have an 88 year old guest with them and (4) respond to our request to please check on our order without snarkiness. Shocked that even after asking to please check on our order, or waitress never spoke to us again until or food was finally out. I finally grabbed another person and asked could we please have some more water. It's 86 degrees outside, we've waited over 45 minutes since our order, and every table that came in behind us has eaten, paid and left. CLEARLY there was a problem. A class way of dealing with a problem is to make damn sure your guest have something to drink and maybe bring a them a free dessert to show them you f'd up and care. SHOCKED by the clear lack of training. SHOCKED your staff is walking around in flip flops. Really take it up a notch. Maybe train your staff, give them all a shirt that would identify them as employees. You can only hang on to your business with the food quality for so long. read more

Sad that they cannot accommodate simple requests. Because I can't have milk, I asked them if I could order chips with a side of hummus because their guacamole/hummus dish has cheese which they could not special order to make without. They refused to scoop a little bit of hummus into a dish to serve with chips. I would have paid a decent price. Will definitely not return. read more

Everything was good, but each item had something off. I started with the spicy Bloody Mary. Most places offer a 'spicy' Bloody that isn't really spicy. This one lived up to its name. Excellent heat and loaded with garnish - mozzarella ropes, olive, Brussels sprout, pickle, and sausage stick. What kept it from being great was the lack of a chaser. While the waitress said I could have one, there was no tap beer available. Curious. I had the mushroom and goat cheese omelet. Eggs were fluffy, mushrooms were cooked to perfection, fresh, not soggy. The goat cheese was too runny and the goat cheese to mushroom ratio was too low. It also needed more chives on top. My husband got the huevos rancheros nachos. Very generously sized, suitable for sharing. The something off was the abundance of black beans. Seriously?! If you need a filler, please find a better ingredient. The atmosphere is nice. Love the garage door opening. The patio was open as the farmers market was in progress, but it was a little chilly to sit outside. We didn't have an issue with noise. Overall, it's an adequate bar with better than average food and good prices. We will likely visit again, but won't make it a destination stop. read more

Heh. Funny. One of Bar 430's patrons messaged me (hi, Dan), disagreeing with my review. Now I KNOW I made the right decision in not eating there. Dan was probably at the next table, and I would have had to listen to his pompous BS for an hour or more. read more

Don't order Mojito. While having an ok Michigan IPA I watched as a new bartender was shown incorrectly how to make it. Wait staff kind of uppity for my taste. Didn't eat so can't speak to that. Bartender did go out of the way to give this out of towner directions. read more

Not a good experience waited 20 mins at a table, the bar was full with what seemed to be the bartenders friends. We arrived at 845, ended up leaving at 9:05. Not one person even acknowledged we were there, even tho there was 3 girls behind the bar and most of the tables in the back cleared. Always traveled to Oshkosh to come here for nice drinks. Ended up choosing a different bar across the street. read more

This is actually a great bar, but it's just WAY too small for its own good. I'd love to come back, and even with a high comfort zone, I feel a little cluster phobic read more

So, so delicious! I had the Mac and cheese and my date had the chicken satay. We both loved our food. The atmosphere here is awesome.

Stopped on a whim for brunch. Exceptional cocktails, the food was very creative, and very well done. The prices were unbelievably low, I could not believe it coming from New York. If I was ever there again, I would definitely return. Highly recommended. read more

This place is solid. The extra hipster bar tender is not my style, but I'm old. Nice scotch selection, very appealing decor, tasty and reasonably priced brunch. I love when they open the whole front of the place in the summer, its perfect for main st. This is one of my top choices for a bloody, some beers, or a nice brunch. Oh, live music sometimes too. read more

Love coming here for breakfast. Great food and service is always solid. Not a huge fan of their bloody Mary's.

Best spinach artichoke dip I have EVER tasted. I've ordered spinach artichoke dip at every restaurant I've been to that has it on the menu and not one compares to Bar 430's. You should go just to try the dip if anything! read more
