Where its big-sister restaurant Barbuto excels in food, Bar Tizio merit rests in its wine-by-the-glass selection. I know of no other restaurant in NYC at this moment serving both Jacquere and Gelbermuskateller varietal whites, and at the same time serving a Rhone blend and a cabernet franc blend red. Many more exotic grapes and blends are also on offer. To me, Tizio leans more enoteca than trattoria. Tizio shares the same industrial architecture DNA as its sister, but is smaller and cozier. A 15-seat bar commands the interior with several small-ish tables filling-out the adjacent space. Be sure to snag seats at the bar or at the three bistro tables abutting the street-facing floor-to-ceiling window. Service is excellent. Beverage Director Jonathan happily shares his libation insight with guests. Dishes arrive in as one would expect; neither too slowly or too quickly. I won't comment here on specific dishes as the menu changes regularly. As a person who delights in variety, the occasional miss is hardly a bother. Highly recommended (at this moment in time) for those who enjoy Italian (Milanese-leaning) cuisine and those who enjoy tasting unusual wines by the glass even more.

This is where I want to eat every day! The food is amazing and all very soul satisfying. The service is warm and friendly. The setting is small with a very neighborhood feel. The drinks are incredibly delicious and the wine list is superb. Bar Tizio is a great choice.

Overall I wasn't impressed. The food was edible but lacked any exciting elements; lobster pasta was less than good. Service was great (other than long wait for cocktails from the bar) but didn't make up for the quality/price and bland presentation on half the dishes.

Excellent food, great wine, laid back but attentive vibe. We liked every dish esp the pasta ( the Tajarin al 30 Pasta). Service excellent.

The event took place in The Loft, which is a small venue, but with a great view of the stage. Doors opened at least an hour and 1/2 before show time. I do recommend arriving early to order food and drinks - service was very attentive before the show. It gets a little difficult to order food as the show is taking place. You can still flag your server, but it may take a longer wait time as the kitchen gets busier. Depending on your ticket, you may be sharing tables with other people, which I was okay with. I went with a friend to the show and ended up sharing the table with two other people. That can be off-putting for some people, so I wanted to make a note of that! Seating is several long tables or small tables stacked up against together. However, the food was delicious! We ordered a charcuterie board to share, margarita flatbread, and truffle mushroom flatbread. And of course, we had to pair our meal with wine! We ordered a delicious Riesling each. I recommend the City Winery for a date night or a fun girls' night out. They host a variety of events and wine tastings, so it's worth a visit!

The first issue was that the elevator was broken which presented a huge issue of accessibility for those in need as the show was upstairs (a winding staircase). Assistance was offered however most folks with accessibility issues, functional independence is a priority for them. Secondly, City Winery why would you have seats, including Premier and General Admission seating, positioned behind the stage/screen when the visuals are clearly an important part of the production? I selected my seat without realizing that a significant portion of the show would involve visual content. From my seat, I was essentially sitting behind the back of the screen, and I could only see 2 of the 4 hosts. I understand that every seat in a venue can't provide the exact same view, but seats with a significantly obstructed view of the actual production should be clearly identified before purchase. If the visual component is integral to the show, sightlines should absolutely be taken into consideration when configuring the seating. Unfortunately, I ultimately left early because I wasn't able to fully experience the show from my seat. This isn't about expecting perfection. It's about transparency, thoughtful seating configuration, and giving customers the experience they're paying for. City Winery, please do better. At minimum, clearly identify obstructed view seats so customers can make an informed decision before purchasing.

I came in on a Wednesday night at 8pm, it was empty and we were seated right away. The entire store and bar is very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. There's 3 floors, the bottom floor which located another bar, the main floor which is street level and has the coffee bar and merch, and the top floor which included the Arriviamo Bar. Our server was very nice but didn't catch his name. We couldn't choose which drinks to get so we settled on the espresso martini flight which includes their espresso martini, double matcha espresso margarita, and ube espresso martini. * Espresso martini: tasted good, foam was perfect sweetness, can barely taste the alcohol * Double matcha margarita: good, matcha foam was good, you can definitely taste the tequila in this but they seem to use good tequila * Ube martini: nice sweet drink, but doesn't taste like ube at all (to be expected, but the ube cold foam on their regular coffee drinks has more of a hint of ube than this drink does) * Matcha butterfly pea swirl cake: has a nice dense texture, light taste of matcha, butterfly pea cream also has a thick creamy texture and a very light taste, perfect snack for a drink with a strong taste Overall good experience, would definitely be back to try the other drinks here and downstairs.

We were seated in about 5 minutes which was great and had the choice to sit wherever we wanted. We ended up getting the seasonal flight, a spring pea flower tart and a pistachio cookie. The food was good but it didn't stand out. A lil bit pricey as well for what you get. The flights are smaller sized than the normal drinks but that's what you'd expect. However the drinks were made well and tasted great. Loved the ube cloud drink the most. Overall a pleasant experience but nothing that wow'd me. I'd stop by to experience it at least once.

It was a fabulous setup with beautiful strung up lights lining the ceiling. While we waited to be seated we were given glasses of sparkling white wine. Our waiter told us that the space for the JBF LTD was donated by one of the JBF board members. Very cool. Eventually, we were seated at our communal table and were given a green garden gazpacho to start. It had pickled green strawberries which were surprisingly very good. Usually you throw the green strawberries out of the bunch and only eat the red ripe ones. David Kinch opened our eyes to eating this unripened fruit and I will never look at green strawberries the same! The soup was paired with vegetable beignets and a crispy vegetable chip - both were just perfect. Our next course was my girlfriend's favorite - an abalone salad nestled on a bed of romaine lettuce coupled with grilled cucumbers and an avocado-nori sauce. I loved the avocado-nori sauce with the tender abalone. The entree came next and was a succulent porcelet with the best crispy pork skins! It was served communal style which was kind of cool. There were two cuts of meat - belly and tenderloin. My favorite part was the skins. Dessert was a lovely popover with powdered sugar. Sweet, simple, and delicious. We had different wine pairings with each course and were semi-tipsy by then end of the meal. The best treat of the night was when David Kinch and John Paul Carmona came out and greeted the diners. They were both kind enough to sign my copy of the menu also. I'll be on the watch out for next years JBF pop up!
