I live in Honolulu and was going to Maple Ridge to see family & looking for 3 cakes to celebrate 3 birthdays, a gluten free cupcake, a delicious, special birthday cake for my sister & a regular cupcake. I spoke with Sara, a friendly, knowledgeable person. We discussed their popular cakes and I selected their black forest cake because Sara told me the cherries were special and delicious. My niece said that her gluten free chocolate cupcake was moist and had a good texture. I "accidently tasted the buttercream frosting and it was very good. The black forest cake was phenomenal, I have never tasted a better cake, and yes, the cherries were scrumptious! The whipped cream frosting was rich, delicious and tasted like 100% whipped cream. Dark chocolate shavings generously adorned the sides of the cake with plenty of loose shaving to have a taste. All 8 adults raved about the cake and agreed that it was the most delicious thing that they have ever tasted. When we arrived to pick-up the cake, we could not resist the yummy, well displayed cakes, muffins, giant cookies & variety of other baked goods. I selected a mini ginger bundt with cream cheese filling & crystalized ginger, pecan orange giant cookie & oatmeal raisin giant cookie. The bundt had a good balance of molasses complimented the cream cheese frosting. When I visit Maple Ridge again, I will be sure to stop by to load up on their goodies & another black forest cake...unfortunately, my niece is celiac and unable to indulge in most of the pastries. I'll be dreaming about the black forest cake from Hawaii for a long long time! Sorry, I neglected to take pictures.

Knowing that L&L Bakery is a family business run by a mother and daughter made the experience feel even more special and personal. Our wedding cake turned out absolutely beautiful and was exactly what we had asked for. It looked amazing and, most importantly, tasted incredible! We also loved having a variety of cupcakes for our guests to choose from, and everyone absolutely loved them. There was something for everyone, and we received so many compliments on how delicious everything was. On top of the beautiful presentation and amazing taste, their pricing was very reasonable, which we truly appreciated while planning our wedding. L&L Bakery helped make our dessert table perfect, and we couldn't have been happier with everything! We highly recommend this wonderful mother-and-daughter bakery to anyone looking for beautiful, delicious, and reasonably priced cakes and desserts. They truly helped make our wedding day even sweeter!

It was time to meet in real life because I would be in her town before crossing the Canadian border with my niece! Perfect timing! The fantastic suggestion to meet at L&L Bakery was Laura's. We had a matcha latte and a generous slice of quiche. It was the perfect breakfast before the drive to Vancouver! Thank you, Laura, for a wonderful experience! My niece and I are so happy to meet you! Thanks also for the cookie and stickers! You're so generous, fun, and thoughtful!

We were pleasantly surprised that they offer guests access to their full drink menu including their specials. Ube matcha was good, but had a hint of cinnamon which we could have gone without. The matcha mango was also good. The blackberry lavender matcha was too floral for our liking. However, eventually you get used to it and then it becomes more enjoyable. The pandesals were super fresh and we loved both the ube and strawberry butters that came with it. I wish that they came a bit warmer, so that the butters could have melted a touch. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 sandwiches. I especially loved the arugula on the mozerella sandwich. The blackberry brie sandwich could have used a touch more brie, but was still delicious. The cheesecakes were good, but a bit too sweet. The strawberry was my favorite. I enjoyed tasting multiple flavors. Their red velvet cupcake was extremely moist. The pistachio malasada was cute and flavorful. The filling to pastry ratio was good. I think that the experience could have been better balanced if there were a few more savory items. One thing that we noticed was that all of the pastries including the malasada were cold. I can understand that there are some food safe requirements that need to be met in how desserts are stored. However, letting them sit out for even 20-30 minutes before consumption would have been better.

There were NO sides that came with sandwich or the wrap. I did ask if there were any little side that came with it and the response was rude with a hard no. Honestly even if was just a little pile of plain chips or just a small amount of pasta salad would have been nice to go with my sandwich. I think the prices are well over priced for a sandwich/bakery place. I have been to many other bakery/sandwich places and I have always received with my sandwich, 1 or 2 small sides. I also found that there wasn't really anything special about their sandwiches, they were ok. I will never go back the Lemon Bakery. The reason why I went to Lemon Bakery is because I wanted to try a new sandwich place.

When I went there, however, I was a little disappointed that it was not as extravagant as I was hoping. Their choices in baked goods were very scarce. When I arrived there I found out that they do not serve their breakfast/lunch menu, but instead the daily special advertisement from their indoor sign. I ordered the Mozzarella & Caramelized Onions Focaccia bread and their cappuccino. The focaccia was great with the caramelized onions adding succulence and flavour that stood out. The cappuccino was good, nothing special though. I also had their Almond Butter cake, which was good as well if not a little solid to eat. There was not much to talk about the interior ambiance of the café and there was not much space inside, unless you go to the back of the café. The staff was very courteous in serving me and has a good deal of knowledge about their business. My experience at the Duft & Co Bakehouse was pretty good, and I would like to give them another try. I've been dying to try this bakery for awhile and each time I have failed and it's no one's fault but mine since they were either sold out or I came on a day they were closed. So this day I planned ahead. I got there ten minutes before opening which always makes me feel awkward but a line was already formed outside. Once they opened you go in and are greeted with a wide array of pastries and baked goods. I picked quite a few but will say that I'm biased as I went to pastry school and well this was the best croissant I've ever had. It was flaky on the outside and nice and buttery on the inside. You can tell that they worked hard on these and laminated them perfectly. The coffee was good too but the pastries stole the show and I will be back.
