Went to this lovely restaurant/bar and I was pleasantly surprised at just how pretty the place was! I wanted to sit there and look at everything. Then all the workers we encountered were so very pleasant. My husband ordered the Nutcase and it was so yummy. The appetizer we ordered was the fried goat cheese balls, so delicious. For main dishes I ordered the Flatiron steak it was cooked perfectly cooked and so decadent with the Gorgonzola cream sauce . My husband ordered the Short ribs with creamy polenta and it was equally delicious. I give all of it 10 out of 10! We will be back over and over. read more

We had a disappointing experience here tonight, especially for an upscale restaurant that requires reservations. We were seated outside and things started off fine, but partway through our meal our server disappeared with no communication or handoff. We sat for quite a while with no check-ins, no refills, and no idea what was going on. The bartender? eventually took over, but service still didn't improve- we weren't asked about refills and had to wait a long time just to get the bill. When I asked what happened, I was told our server had left and that they "pool tips anyway," which doesn't really excuse the lapse in service. On top of that, my husband ordered a medium steak and it came out well done. We left around 8:30 on a Friday, well before closing, so it's hard to understand how service fell apart this much. Im so disappointed to write this review because Im a freely fan. The food was so bland it tasted like it came from a can. I got the gnocchi, and it had no flavor whatsoever. My son got the steak skewers they were incredibly dry and had no seasoning. My daughter got their kids pasta with marinara but it seemed to be just plain tomato sauce out of a can with no seasoning. Incredibly overpriced for what we received. The service was also slow and not very welcoming or friendly. The one positive thing was the drinks and the vibes are good. my new favorite spot!!! it's seriously soooo cute inside and reminds me of our honeymoon in Italy! we were actually headed over to Freely, the restaurant on the corner - which to my surprise is the same owners! but Bar Capri was actually open by time we go to DT Chandler so that was exciting! Cocktails were amazing, service was phenomenal! Food was incredible (we got the chicken fusilli but I swapped their sauce for the mushroom sauce and it was sooo incredible! Have been anticipating Bar Capri's opening for a while now! Regular visitor to Freely next door. I was excited about the food and cocktails they had to offer. They still have a ton of food options that are coming soon, but what they did have to offer was great! Can't wait to come back and check out the other options as the menu becomes more available. Had the Burrata appetizer and we tried the Lasagna and the Meatballs, all of which were delicious! Tried 4 of their cocktails and they were great! Decor in here really ties it all together, everything goes really well. The service was excellent, food and drinks came out pretty quickly and our server was on top of everything! read more

Bar Capri is something truly special. Everything about it was excellent. My wife and I sat in a very romantic booth. We ordered the Prosciutto Melon to start. The sweetness from the melon and the salty prosciutto are an inspired combination. We also ordered two very good cocktails. My wife had the Freely Espresso Martini and I had the Paper Plane. For our main courses we my wife ordered Nonna's Lasagna and I ordered the Chicken Pesto Fusili. My Chicken Pesto Fusili was excellent but my wife's lasagna was out of this world. Everything at Bar Capri was just lovely. From the service to the sound track, everything is inviting and makes you feel they are going above and beyond for you. We can not wait tongo back to Bar Capri and explore more of the menu. read more

What an amazing treat! I've been driving by Bar Capri wanting to try it for a while, and tonight my fiancé took me here for my birthday! We originally made a reservation, but snagged the last two seats at the bar and figured that was a great place to watch everything so we decided to stay seated there. The bartender was so friendly and genuine, and you could tell he was passionate about creating a great experience for his guests. We started with a round of espresso martinis which were delicious, and started with the arancini starter. DELICIOUS! After that, we had a round of old fashioneds and split the gnocchi bolognese. *Chef's kiss!* Since it was my birthday, we were also treated to a complimentary tiramisu which was also fantastic. The decor and atmosphere are also perfect. One thing to keep in mind is that it's a smaller place--so I would definitely recommend making a reservation and earlier in the day (but same day, at least on a Thursday). We tried the bread and flavored butter appetizer, gnocchi bolognese, chicken parm special and brisket. The people who ate the brisket said they loved it. I've been to Bar Capri a few times and have lived the service and food. Tonight we were asked to leave at the two hour mark when we still had dessert and a bottle if wine to finish. If we'd been told at the beginning of the evening the table was for two hours that'd been different. This was a special occasion which they acknowledged with a free dessert, but we spent iver $200 bucks with a generous tip. Not cool when you are a European style restaurant. We were told they could move us to the patio, but it's SUMMER in Arizona...not exactly comfy. I'm not sure we will return and that's a bummer because the food, ambiance, and service is great. A friend and I needed a break from holiday craziness and decided to go here for a splurge night out. We took an Uber because we wanted to have a few drinks and not worry about driving. The restaurant inside is very pretty and cozy. Drinks were great as was the food, however the service left a LOT to be desired. Both of our drinks took a very long time to prepare and my friend didn't get hers until well after the food had been served. We had to flag down waitstaff to get one more drink and that was slow as well. We ended up leaving after 2 drinks each because the service was so slow and inattentive. And the place wasn't busy, there were only 2 other tables with people in the whole restaurant. Maybe they're going through growing pains and need to train their staff more, but I'll never understand a business that puts barriers in the way of someone wanting to buy their product.
