I love Bao so coming into the food court I had to try them. The lady at the counter was really nice. I wanted the pork and chive and she said fresh ones were almost ready so had me wait for them. Also got fish and vegetables which was good too.

After reading some positive reviews, I decided to try Baobuddy, and it did not disappoint! Although the owner didn't speak English, a friendly customer assisted me in ordering the pork bun, which was fantastic. The bao skin had the perfect balance--neither too thick nor overly chewy--creating a delightful texture. It was filled with a savory mix of minced pork, Chinese vegetables, and well-balanced seasoning that offered savory and vinegary notes. While I would have loved more pork in the filling, it was still delicious. Plenty of other options are on the menu, and I'm definitely coming back to explore different flavors!

    pork baos, crispy bottoms

I usually never write reviews but looking at the existing ones I felt bad because they aren't accurate. I got the pan fried pork baos for $20, honestly a ton of baos to share compared to the 6 piece pork ones (but those were huge) They were already sold out but I could tell the lady working was the only one there. Yes, the reviews are correct and she can't speak English, but you can point at what you want if you can't speak Chinese. She was really sweet and quick. **Sorry there were more baos but we ate about 4-5 of them before the photo. I encourage you to try this place out! Support local businesses :)

a half eaten baobob on a plate next to a plastic container

I rarely write reviews but feel like I have to this time because the experience is SO bad. First of all, the owner was RUDE. She told me I cannot even touch the food container if am not buying it. If I don't take a look at it, how do I know if I want it or not?! Secondly, it is overpriced and the food is not fresh at all. When I saw the price, I told myself, the food must be very good, otherwise they wouldn't charge you this much and be this rude. But I was SO wrong. The truth is this is a ripoff and they are just rude. The taste is not good, filling is little, and most importantly, the meat is not fresh!!! It tasted sour like the meat had gone bad. Will never never go back again!

    Nothing special about them.

The bun was good! $20/ box is good deal considering fresh made daily, and taste good. I always get a box when I go to Great Wall.

$20 for a box stuffed with baos ($22 after tax) is somewhat reasonable for a small business cranking out hand made baos.

Mama Chang is the perfect place for a group dinner. Come hungry, order a bunch of dishes to share,…read moreand you'll still leave with plenty of leftovers. Our group of five sampled a great variety from the menu, including the Hot & Numbing Tofu Skin, Crab Roe Soup Dumplings, Cucumber Salad, Lettuce Wraps, Cumin Fish, Stir-Fried Beef Tenderloin, Crispy Pork Ribs with Scallion Crisps and Mixed Grain & Purple Rice, Stir-Fried Beef with Chilies, and Kung Pao Chicken with white rice. The standout for me was the cumin fish. It was fried perfectly--crispy without being greasy--and the cumin added great flavor without overpowering the dish. The crispy pork ribs lived up to their name and had a nice kick of spice. The cucumber salad packed a serious garlic punch, which I really enjoyed. The Hot & Numbing Tofu Skin was something completely different from what I expected. It's sliced into long ribbons that resemble noodles or pasta. The flavor was excellent, although the texture took some getting used to. The only dish that fell a little short was the stir-fried beef tenderloin, which could have used a bit more seasoning. Everything else was delicious. The portions are enormous. At first the prices seemed a little high, but once the food arrived it made perfect sense. Every entrée was easily enough for two meals. One thing to keep in mind is that rice is ordered separately and isn't included with the entrées. Service was excellent throughout our meal. We arrived for lunch and didn't realize they close between lunch and dinner (lunch is served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.). We ended up staying until about 2:45, and the staff never made us feel rushed even though they had technically closed. They greeted us promptly, took our drink orders, and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu without hovering. The restaurant is tucked away on the ground floor of an office building, so it's easy to drive right past if you aren't looking for it. Parking was plentiful, and the oversized booths comfortably fit all five of us without feeling cramped. If you're dining with a group and want to sample a variety of authentic dishes, Mama Chang is definitely worth the visit.

We were like the food must be good lol When we got our food it was pretty cold. Which is weird cause they just opened. During our meal we hear screaming. It was 2 employees yelling at each other. My friends are Vietnamese and were saying that they were yelling about gambling money. It was pretty annoying and I could tell my friends were uncomfortable. But at the end is where it got really uncomfortable and awkward. The food and service was not good. So I tipped 15 percent. I should have tipped nothing but that's not me and I was in the service industry so i understand everyone has a day off. The, I assume manager or owner came up to the table and told me I'm required to tip 18 percent. I said where does it say that? He says on the receipt. I told him that says suggestions not required and that I could give him 0 tip. He proceeds to make a huge scene about the 2 extra bucks I need to pay. I finally cave because my friends were very very uncomfortable. As we leave my friend said the guy was a talking shit in Vietnamese to his employees about us. My recommendation is to go somewhere else. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had and all over 2 dollars that they didn't deserve. I see why they have a low yelp review.

Han Palace has one of the largest all-day dim sum menus in Northern Virginia, so it has been my go-to dim sum restaurant for about six years. Unfortunately, today's experience ended that relationship. When me and my family arrived in the evening and were seated immediately. Within a minute, our server asked if we were ready to order. When I said we needed a little more time, she visibly appeared annoyed. After quickly deciding as a family, I placed our order. Because I studied Chinese as a second language, I sometimes order dishes in Chinese. In my experience, servers either appreciate the effort or simply take the order without issue. This time was very different. The server seemed irritated that I was ordering in Chinese. I switched to ordering by the menu item numbers while pointing directly at the dishes because I thought there might be a misunderstanding. Surprisingly, she insisted that I order using the dish names instead. Had the experience ended there, I would have chalked it up to an awkward miscommunication. Unfortunately, it got worse. Less than 30 seconds after taking our order, two dishes arrived. The speed made me wonder whether the food had already been sitting out. The steamed pork buns were so dry that one had cracked open, and the shrimp dumplings were mushy and stuck firmly to the paper liner. I was later surprised to see another reviewer describe a similar experience several months ago. After dropping off the food, the server walked over to a colleague and began speaking in Chinese. They repeatedly looked directly at me while discussing my attempt to order in Chinese. Since I understand the language, it was clear that she was complaining about me. This happened several times while the restaurant was relatively empty. Each time, she returned to the same spot to continue the conversation, with her colleague looking directly at me. After the third time, I asked for the check because I wanted to leave. Paying premium prices for disappointing food is one thing; having the staff openly criticize you while you're dining is another. As we were leaving, I heard the server mutter, "What's his problem?" I will not be returning. I understand that everyone has a bad day, but the combination of poor food quality and unprofessional service made this one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in years. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before dining here.
