We mostly got small plates to share. Many were subpar. The skewer of meatballs was dry, oversalty and meh. The soup dumplings also not great. Very little broth. The duck fried roll was just sliced duck meat, dry, and not great. The gyoza and shumai were both Good and we enjoyed those. The atmosphere, service and drinks were great We also enjoyed a free bday dessert of a strawberry mousse cake. Bill for two with tip was around 100.00. We each had one drink. I don't think we will be back.

Definitely my go-to entree. Thai-Style Calamari (5/5): One of THE main reasons I love Pacific Rim so much. This is the best calamari appetizer I've had. Lightly breaded and fresh. The sweet chili sauce is perfect. Thai Peanut Noodles (4/5): The noodles had great texture and the Thai peanut sauce was delicious. The tofu wasn't really crispy and I personally would've loved the option to add some meat. Lamb Dumpling (4/5): Lots of meat in the filling and didn't taste gamy at all. Limited time special. Shrimp Shumai (4/5): Really enjoyed the wonton wrapper. Shrimp flavor came through nicely. Limited time special. House Salad (4/5): Light and fresh. The soy based dressing was sweet, slightly acidic, and not at all overpowering. Warm Chocolate Cake (4/5): Delicious cake with a warm, gooey inside. I personally don't like coconut or chocolate and fruit desserts, but I still enjoyed this a lot. Creme Brulee Tasting (4/5) : Green tea, pumpkin spice, and ginger creme brulees. Loved getting to try a little bit of each flavor (green tea was my favorite). Spiced Caramel Pear (3/5): Not my favorite since I don't generally like cooked fruit. The mascarpone cream and shortbread were good though. The ambiance of the restaurant is honestly top tier with the real flowers and candles on each table, aesthetic consistency, along with their round turning table perfect for large parties. These are the things I've tried from there: Orange chicken: 7/10 (and only because it's not my favorite dish anywhere, I just tried a bite of someone else's but it's good and has fresh mandarin in it; it quickly became my dad's favorite dish there) Pork Larb: again and again 10/10 I could eat this everyday Sesame chicken: 8/10 (not the best of the best I've tried but still very good) Kick boxing chicken: 10/10 Sticky rice: 10/10 perfect with my Larb Thai tea: 10/10. the best Thai tea I've had in Michigan. The inside is so cute and the plates are so pretty too! Not only are the physical dishes cool, but the presentation of the sushi was too! I got 2 orders of the simple tuna, and one New York. My sister got an order of the California rolls and 2 shrimp tempura orders. Presentation was fantastic, and the sushi was divine. The salmon was so tender and almost buttery in consistency, and the veggies inside the rolls are so fresh and crisp. I always find sushi so refreshing and it hit the spot. I'd also like to mention how fantastic they are about dietary restrictions. Tons of vegan/vegetarian options PLUS GLUTEN FREE SOY SAUCE, APPS, AND A MENU. For the celiacs out there: I didn't get glutened! They took it seriously and I had no issues! If you're not sure where to go, go to Kanbu. The entire meal was around $65, and we had a lot of sushi plus a massive pot of tea. The quality of the food is still amazing and worth a visit, but there were some items I wish stayed on the menu. For example, the spicy salmon crispy rice is no longer available and only available in the tuna form. The portions are also smaller, now coming in three small bites rather than the two big bites from before. The gochujang rigatoni and kimchi paella are also unavailable. Some new dishes I tried and loved were the short rib and the grilled octopus. The octopus was incredibly tender and I couldn't stop eating it! It also comes with delicious potatoes. The short rib was a larger portion and also tasted delicious. The rest of my table ordered the miso cod. The miso cod was delicious, but the portion was quite small and arguably not worth its price compared to the short rib. Cocktails that I recommend are The Gatsby and The Promised Neverland if you like sweeter drinks! For the service, we felt a bit rushed as we were dining. Normally the drinks come out followed by the appetizers, but our appetizers came first and the drinks came with our mains. I think there was a missed opportunity to sip on our drinks and chat with our party as we enjoyed the restaurant's ambience. Otherwise, the food came quickly and was well served.

It was restaurant weekend in downtown Ann Arbor and we didn't have a reservation, so we obliged, although the space was pretty empty. Once we got to the bar, the young waitress slammed menus down in front of us and acted extremely annoyed by our presence. After bothering us every minute for the next 5 minutes to order, me and my friend put in our orders in haste. We then waited for 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. I got the "Amazing Shrimp" sushi roll and my friend got the "Grilled Angus Short Rib". As noted on the menu it comes with Mashed Potatoes, Shishito Peppers, and Garlic Chives. Per my friend's request, the order did not come with the Shishito Peppers or Garlic Chives, but it also didn't have the potatoes. After asking for the potatoes, our server went back and we could hear her yelling at the kitchen staff. Minutes later she came out with a bowl of 3 potatoes, not mashed and not hot. My roll was great and I'd definitely order again if I come back, but I'm honestly not too inclined to after this experience. Lastly, the restaurant itself was freezing. It was a cold day but it was way colder inside than it should've been. We ended up keeping our coats on for most of dinner. I really do want to like it here because the vibe seemed very modern and clean, however the service, food, and level of professionalism fell short of my expectations.

The ambiance is kind of a sterile, trendy vibe, but not in a good way? They have the Love Island neon signs in the bathroom (and the awful Dyson air blade hand dryer sinks that just blow gross public sink water into your face unexpectedly) and it feels like it's toeing the line between wanting to be upscale and also accommodate the college crowd. I don't know. I could forgive all the weird vibes if the food were better. I will say their tacos are quite large; so don't expect a typical street taco. I had a hard time eating three and I'm a pretty hungry person. So I'd order two, especially if you have any kind of app or side. I would not order the mahi mahi one again. There was SO MUCH (bland) fish in there it fell apart. The pastor was pretty typical, and the camarones (shrimp) one wasn't bad, but it was kind of like a shrimp salad concoction vs a fried shrimp or ceviche kind of application. And they were like teeny mini shrimp. It was well-flavored, though. My Paloma mocktail was solid! Expensive, though, for something without booze in it. Our server was very sweet but perhaps overly attentive, stopped by (not kidding) like 12 times to refill our waters after we'd taken barely a sip. We were well hydrated but chuckling at the constant disruption.
