Pan fried pork baos, beef rolls, shanghai rice cakes, stir fried green beans
    Martha L.

Clean and new restaurant with good, authentic food. Everything came out quickly and the staff was rather attentive and polite. Had their large soup dumpling that you sip with a straw as well as the stur fried green beans, shanghai rice cakes, beef rolls, and pan fried pork baos, everything was delicious

Came here on a Thursday night for a quick carb fix. We ordered an assortment of dumplings and a stir fried noodle. I was surprised that the food wasn't overly oily/ greasy and lighter on the salt. The stir fry noodle was definitely lighter than typical even in color. The wasn't particularly busy with plenty of parking spaces in the lot behind. There is also an ayce congee section in the restaurant for $2.99 which had three porridge options to supplement your meal.

Modern decor dumpling house. Complimentary appetizers include peanuts, seaweed, and black fungus. I ordered: * Pan-Fried Kurobuta Pork Buns - 4/5 ($7.98) * Meat & Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings - 3.5/5 ($8.98) * Hand-Pulled Spicy Cabbage - 3.5/5 ($9.98) * Braised Beef Noodle Soup - 2.5/5 ($19.98) The beef wasn't tender enough, and the soup base was just okay. For almost $20, I expected a bit more. The other dishes were reasonably priced and tasted decent. Easy to find indoor parking or you can park across the street

Got that dumpling craving and was nearby so gave this place a try. This place has that giant soup dumpling so if you like social media food influencing, give it a try. I personally didn't try but I got a bunch of other items and it was delicious. Price is a little higher but the quality of the food is good. Staff is really nice and made sure to tell me that the dessert, congee, and red bean rice soup was free today. The sign says $2.99 ayce for that part, so not sure if it's only free on the weekdays. But glad it was free for us. Also, definitely try the signature dishes like house special Chinese burger and the crab meat scallion noodles. If you're like me and like a little spice, ask for chili oil! The place also has calming Chinese music that I like so it was a relaxing meal for me.

Came here the other day for dinner with my mom. It wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. We ordered the pork and crab soup dumplings and the regular pork soup dumplings. Flavor was good, but the skins were a bit too thin and kept breaking when we picked them up, so we lost most of the soup which was kind of disappointing. We also got the pan fried buns which I really liked. The bottoms were extra crispy and the filling was juicy. The homestyle chicken and egg fried rice was surprisingly good too, had a nice wok flavor. We also ordered the stir fried bok choy which was simple but tasty. They give you a small complimentary appetizer and hot tea which was a nice touch. Overall a solid meal. I'd come back to try more of the menu next time.

A new XLB restaurant in town and it slapped, HARD!!!! The spicy wontons were the best I've ever had, and I prefer it to Ding Tai Fung's. It's different but super flavorful and has a nice peanuty kick. We also ordered the stir fried string beans, which were tasty enough, and their big XLB. This is where I was a bit disappointed - it barely had any filling in it and was mainly skin and soup. It was still very flavorful and tasty, but the lack of meat was disappointing. Restaurant is definitely new and nicely decorated with lots of natural light. Service was efficient and kind. There's a free parking structure next to it, and has multiple levels so it wasn't too hard to find a spot. Will definitely return to try their XLB. Hopefully it has more filling than the big version.

Their xlb was great! I also liked their scallion noodles! Their pan fried dumplings were crunchy at the bottom and nice and soft at the top. It was nice to try their large xlb where they give you a straw to drink the soup inside. It's hard to eat the skin so it makes sense why generally they make the xlb small. The service was friendly and they let me bring in my dog!

First time was Sunday around 12 & it wasn't too busy yet. Place order through QR code We ordered about 9 or 10 dishes & the total was about $120 which is pretty good I liked the variety of food & how they made their own twists to their dishes unlike the traditional ways of making it (like the spicy wonton had sesame sauce, not my favorite but unique) Tables favorites dishes: shao mai, onion pancake, xlb, green beans The noodles tasted like a restaurant version of Indomie, Chinese burger had a great crispy breading but meat a little dry, chicken soy sauce fried rice was a bit bland, & the large crab xlb was just okay and had little filling I would come back for the favorites & to try other dishes

Went to check out Bao Master in Alhambra since it's been on my list to try. They have been opened for a couple months so decided to pay them a visit. When we arrived there were about 2 other tables there. You order off a QR code and the staff brings your orders to the table. The items were pretty affordable as we ordered a lot of small dishes and sides. For a party of 4 and a toddler we ordered about 10 items. We ordered the cucumbers, pickles veggies, pork soup dumplings, braised gluten, beef rolls, hot and sour soup, spicy wontons, glutinous rice dumplings, pork chop fried rice and pan fried pork buns. Half the items were under $10 as they were side dishes and nothing was over $20. The items that amazes my table were the pork soup dumplings, glutinous rice dumplings and pan fried pork buns. The pork soup dumplings had a thin layer of skin and the dumpling was very soupy. This was toddler approved as she ate most of the order. The meat was flavorful and it didn't really need any sauce. The glutinous rice dumplings was the talk of the table. It was not only soft but full of flavor. They loaded up the sticky rice with seasoning and meat and we wanted more. The pan fried pork buns must be eaten with caution. They were burning hot and you needed to make a slit for it to cool down. The bottom of the hh was super crispy and had a nice crunch. Everything else was average or above average. Didn't think anything was bad and it was all a good price. Would definitely be coming back to try their other items.

Finally went to try the newly opened Bao Master and enjoyed the XLB! The kurabota pork and crab xlb was very flavorful and had a good ratio of filling and wrapper. Also tried the extra large soup xlb and it was so fun to eat. They give you a straw to drink the soup inside but just need to be careful as it's very hot. Service was fast and friendly. A great place to eat with family or group of friends!

A Bao dumplings restaurant located at Alhambra area, it wasn't too busy during Saturday night on the weekend... Bao Master is located inside the parking lot, the restaurant is neat n clean enough, faster services with QR code self ordering n delivering, fast n efficiency. I was ordering XLB Xiao Long Bao with pork soup dumplings, good enough not too impressive about taste. Beef fried rolls, fried pork dumplings, pork fried buns!! These items are more tasty n delicious!! It's a pretty good pricing for nowadays!! Recommend for people that like dumplings restaurants!!

Pregnancy cravings hit me bad yesterday and I really wanted to get some XLB with my family. I know Alhambra has a lot of good spots but we really wanted to try something new. Upon arriving, we were seated right away and was served a small plate of complimentary cold appertizers which were all delicious. We ordered two kinds of XLB, chicken pot stickers, another kind of soup dumpling, fried rice and crab roe noodles. Everything came fresh, hot and delicious. The portions are also huge for the price. I highly recommend this place!

    house special Chinese beef burger
    Lily L.

Service and ambiance are good. But the food is just average, nothing would make you want to go back. The crab meat & scallion oil noodles is too salty, yet the house special Chinese beef burger has no favor. The pan-fried wagyu buns are too small and the pork and crab soup dumplings is just ok. The dishes are pretty small and not worth the price. I wouldn't want to go back.

I am genuinely thrilled to have such an upscale, quiet, and relaxing restaurant right here in my neighborhood. You can truly taste the chef's passion and dedication in every dish. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! Another great thing about Sage is their incredibly generous portion sizes--we left completely satisfied! We finished our meal with a great cup of coffee and the chef's handmade Tiramisu, drawing a perfect, sweet close to our evening. Highly recommend!

It is a nicely stacked bowl that has everything but the kitchen sink in it - roast pork belly, catfish, squid, eggplant, and stuffed jalapeno with fried fish cake. Very filling and reasonably priced!
