The Loco Moco here is surely made with LOVE! The meat patty was seasoned to perfection. The onions were super soft and caramelized. And it was all paired with warm white rice, a pool of savory gravy , and a fried egg. This was the perfect dinner and easily the top thee best meals I've had in the Waikiki area. Given the fact that they were open on New Year's Eve, not too busy, with seating, should have been a bit of a red flag. However, I had joined up with a friend's family that had no plans and no idea it would be busy in Waikiki on NYE (lol). We ended up here, and I think they were about to close the kitchen, which I felt pretty bad about. I ordered a Waimea burger and garlic fries to take home to eat. Service wasn't amazing, but they weren't rude and didn't rush us. There isn't much seating. Pricing is about what you would expect for being by the mall. Upon opening my food at home, I was disappointed to see my garlic fries were super soggy and under fried. They had a strong garlic flavor but definitely would have benefitted with more time in the frier. The burger was decent, but left a weird aftertaste in my mouth that I couldn't really shake. Service is top tier! Christine is a ball of joy with her energy. She is extremely welcoming to everyone she interacts with. Food came out very fast and was fresh. The mango milkshake was good, not too sweet and was refreshing! Pipeline was the perfect burger. Juicy, nice amount of veggies and sauce. Cheese was also nice since some cheese at other places can be iffy. Fries were crispy but not burnt! onion rings were good with the honey mustard or ranch! They have fun music playing and Christine was even dancing which made the ambiance fun! She was treating us as if we were in a 5 star restaurant, serving us our food, making sure we enjoyed our meal, and offering extra sides or drinks! Banzai Burger is a location that is at the Kuhio Avenue Food Hall. They charge an extra $1.50 for take out items, which I found frustrating especially when you're only ordering one burger and fries. It would make sense if you ordered more than $20 though, but not just one bloody burger and fries though. I tried the Pipeline Burger, the Waimea Burger, the Local Catch Sandwich, and the Chicken Tenders & Fries. The Pipeline Burger was a standard burger. In comparison, the Waimea Burger was juicy, full-on greasy, and quite flavourful. As a burger person, the Waimea Burger was the definitely better out of the two beef burgers. The Local Catch was substantial in terms of the fish used for the patty. All three burgers were good. As for the Chicken Tenders & Fries, not much to say as it was standard deep fried fare. As for the fries, I do prefer the garlic fries over the french fries. They just sprinkle on the garlic flavouring after the french fries are fried. Definitely would go back. read more
