With all the hype I'd heard about Bánh Mì Phở An, I knew this would be my lucky day. The guy in the lineup ahead of me ordered more than 20 sandwiches. I was impressed by the speed of the ladies who assembled all the sandwiches. The buns were crispy and fresh. The pâté, butter and a squirt from a squeeze bottle of dark brown sauce was all perfectly spread on the bun. The cucumber spear, and mostly daikon pickles (with one piece of pickled carrot), fresh coriander sprigs, salt and pepper toppings were all evenly distributed across the bread. Nicely wrapped and packaged neatly in paper wrap. Service was quick, in and out within minutes, and the Classic Bánh Mì was only five bucks. Good value for a tasty Bánh Mì. You can really taste the butter type spread they put in, perhaps a bit too much. The chicken was good too, but I think they used Korean BBQ sauce to marinade it. The space is small where there is only room to stand. The walls of the shop are all lined up with things that remind you of Vietnam. The cashier is to the right when you enter and you can see the many staff preparing all the banh mi sandwiches that are made fresh to order. I decided to order a banh mi (not spicy) and a Vietnamese coffee where my food and drink was made at a reasonable time. Service was friendly and efficient.
