Came here with my family for dinner and I will say it was pretty good! The minute I walked in I couldn't help but take in all the cute decor and we were serviced extremely fast. We took a minute to scan the menu as the server came by and ordered a chicken satay to start. The chicken was cooked so well and the peanut sauce went really well with it! Now for the main course we ordered a red chicken curry and a vegetarian pad thai. The chicken curry had the right amount of spice and the white rice that came with it was molded into a heart (so cute!) Now for the vegetable pad thai, overall it was good but nothing special. I don't know if it's because I ordered close to closing but no no no. The crab rangoon is literally refrigerator cold in the middle. The chicken in my Pad Thai is flavorless and has a jerky rubbery texture. I am so disappointed. I spent $35 via Uber Eats to get this food and I have to trash it. Uber Eats gave me a $2 credit. A small bar sits along the wall to accommodate single diners or those looking to enjoy a martini or a glass of wine from their generous wine list. Crystal chandeliers hang from the far ceiling. The food was excellent and authentic. We had the drunken noodles lunch special (Pad Kee Mao). We were given complimentary noodle broth to start. We started with gin martinis (a fun choice at a Thai place) and shared some veggie spring rolls and crab rangoon, both of which were light and delicious. For the mains, my friend went with chicken fried rice, while I tried the vegan red curry with tofu and veggies. The curry was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, and the fried rice was just as good. The service was prompt , adding to the overall great experience. Bangkok Kitchen Thai is in a little strip mall filled with little restaurants. The parking lot has nice big spaces and plenty of ADA spaces. The restaurant is small with tables fairly close together. Fortunately, the dining room is less than half full and guests are spread out. The seating is soft and comfortable. Glass chandeliers provide light and there is Thai art on the wall. Light jazz plays in the background. We were seated fairly quickly and soup is brought to the table immediately before you order. The broth bases soup doesn't have a lot of flavor, but is a nice starter. The lunch menu offers the traditional Thai favorites. They have a full bar with an amazing selection of wines. Meals come out fairly quickly, before we finished soup. Service is fast, maybe even rushed. My Pad Kee Mao is plated beautifully with a small bowl of salad, egg roll, orange wedge and entree. The egg roll is crunchy and tasty with a sweet Thai dipping sauce. The Pad Kee Mao is delicious with lots of vegetables including straw mushrooms, baby corn, beans, pepper, tomato and more. There isn't a lot of flavorful sauce, but the plate is good and a great value for lunch. My husband loves his Pad Thai. Servers are friendly. Water glasses were kept full. Great meal and great service! The restaurant was quite busy around 8 pm on a weeknight, but we were still seated right away and served quickly. We received giant portions and loved all of our food. They have an excellent wine selection and the restaurant is loud but appropriately designed for a date night or just gathering with friends. I'd recommend asking to be seated away from the door when it's cold outside because it doesn't fully close and made me uncomfortable. read more

Bangkok Kitchen offers great tasting food with more ambiance than one would expect of an establishment in a strip mall. I find their flavors more intense, complex, and tasty than other Thai restaurants nearby. The drunken noodles are a favorite; they are lightly browned giving them a wonderful flavor. We love their salad rolls which come with two dipping sauces. The staff is consistent. They're efficient and attentive but not too chatty. I order tofu often, just because I like it, not due to dietary restrictions. When I ask for tofu they make sure I am not avoiding animal products, such as eggs, if I have ordered a dish that may have eggs. Dining in is an elevated experience. They recently seem to have invested in new cloth napkins, utensils, and plates all of which are very pretty. Water is served in a stemmed glass. It's a small space but the layout doesn't feel too cramped. The food is garnished beautifully, too. Seems like they're really focused on delivering a quality. Their lunch specials are great, but we also tend to visit on a Friday night for a peaceful dinner after a long work week. read more

This restaurant is located on Rockville road or US 36 of Avon IN. This cozy restaurant has quite a few vegetarian options and some vegan options too if I am not wrong. The food was delicious and I highly recommend this place. This is the first Thai place I have tried the cashew nut dish and tasted out of this world. Even though they were at the time when I went with my family, they took good care of us. Their service was amazing. Their portions are perfect for dinner. They have parking in the front. Our server was quick to address our needs and bring out the menu and our food as well as keep up with the other patrons dining in. The lunch special comes with a small salad, egg roll and a clear soup broth which really hit the spot when it's cold outside. The Pad Kee Mao was filled with more veggies than noodles, at least more than I cared for, but it was still tasty. My favorite Mexican restaurant in Indy is located in Avon, and now I discovered a great Thai restaurant in an unassuming Avon strip mall. Avon, what other delights are you hiding in plain sight?! Bangkok Kitchen Thai Restaurant was the location of a recent meetup with a friend. (Hi, Jen!) I got there early and decided to get a drink while waiting. The restaurant advertises in their window (in neon, no less) that they're also a wine and martini bar, so I got a glass of Cabernet. They have a pretty large and well-considered wine list, including a Petite Sirah that looked promising, and I would have tried, but I didn't see it until I had already ordered. It didn't look like too many people come in just to hang out at the bar -- the bar area looked like the place where they put the menus and other random things. Once my friend arrived, it took us a while to decide what to order. The menu is huge! I landed on a larb salad (chicken) and Thai salad rolls. The rolls were great, but it was the larb salad that was the star of my meal. If you've never had larb: I would describe it was a juicy, meat-forward chopped salad. I know that sounds not at all appetizing, but it is! It was fresh and light, tender from the chicken and crisp from the salad greens, slightly sweet and slightly sour. It was amazing. I ate it with some steamed rice, which was a good last-minute addition, because the juiciness from the salad is absorbed by the rice, to create this whole other delicious dish. The larb salad is big enough to share, or for one person to eat as a meal. The people who work here are on their A-game. The service was great. They were pretty busy too, which was nice to see. But even though they were busy, our water glasses were never empty for long, and we got our check quickly at the end of the meal. I will definitely be back to try more Thai dishes here! read more

Bangkok is one of my favorite restaurants to patronize in Indianapolis! The environment, the music, the quality of the meals..how can you beat it? I have experienced the live jazz nights, nights without it, and lunch time. You will have a lovely time for couples, solo, or anyone! I have had the pad thai but my favorite dish is the Vegetable Fried Thai Rice (adding an order of veggie spring rolls (and no added spice to the rice))! The service is pretty nice for dine in, if you're doing to-go, it can be iffy. You may have to wait at the door for a little bit. The only unpleasant visit I had was when I needed them to remake my order 2/3 times and it still was not what I wanted. The guy who was taking my order was not to my level of helpfulness. I did not want certain vegetables and when I asked what was all in it, they mentioned what was on the menu but not everything else. If you say your rice has (i.e) broccoli and peas and when I get it, there's carrots, corn and more, I shouldn't receive attitude for what isn't stated/communicated. As I stated, I enjoy this place. I go frequently. I would say you need about $15-30 per person. I have not tried the drinks and wines yet but once I do, you all will hear from me! read more

Stopped by Bangkok Kitchen on a whim for a quick lunch on Easter. There was no wait which was nice. The server came to our table immediately, answered our questions very well and offered their advice. Service was really quick. The food was DELICIOUS! We had a group of 5, so we got to try many different items on the menu. The tempura batter was really just so incredibly tasty and crispy. The portions were on the larger side and everything came with a side of rice. Our server brought my daughter a little Easter egg too. I always love when people at the restaurant are good to small kids - extra points for me. I would highly recommend this spot. read more

Best Thai place around! I haven't liked Thai food in the past from other restaurants and decided to give Bangkok a try...I'm so sad I waited this long. They're so friendly and never ever let your drink get half full. We brought some friends here last week and I didn't even realize we were still inside 5 minutes before close. I apologized and they were so kind. I don't like to be that person that stays until close. They never even made us feel rushed and still treated us like they would any other time. They have a big menu of appetizers. We keep going back to crab Rangoon but also tried shrimp blankets. I keep eyeballing their sweet Thai Calamari!! Chicken pad Thai is my personal favorite and the portion sizes are huge! I have taken mine to go and ate leftovers twice from one meal. It's worth every penny. This was a disappointment. I ordered through Grubhub, one single dish--the Thai favorite--Pad Thai. I used to love this dish. So many Thai restaurants take it for granted that because it's the most ordered entree, that either they cook that dish extremely well or that we ( the general public) are just stupid. Quite simply, first, there was too much tamarind, which was too sour, and too much palm sugar making it too sweet. Secondly, my God! Taste your shrimp before you use it! The shrimp was poor quality, with a heavy chemical-like funk which rendered it inedible. Yuck beyond yuck! Thirdly, there was a lack of garlic chives, ( some use green onions as a substitute), and an over abundance of peanuts on top. Will never order this again! Now I am anxious to try more of this dish around town! And see who has the best! read more

After a cup of warm, soothing noodle soup followed by the appetizer plate (that brought the same joy as a box of chocolates), my lunch date and I were surprisingly getting full! But then, out came the main dish (drunken noodles) in all of its fresh, crisp, tender, savory, deliciousness. Came here and was able to be seated immediately (TWAS the middle of the afternoon). Staff was very accommodating of a baby and brought us a high chair. The duck curry is divine. Super flavorful and delicious. I got hot but I wasn't needing to chug milk so their spice was on the milder side. It took no time at all for our food to come out as well. Went there for early dinner on Wednesday. Service is good. Food is great. Ordered the tiger peppered garlic beef. Its flavorful. Ordered fried rice (cost a little extra but worth it). The fried rice is so good. Had a Pinot noir with my meal. My husband and brother in law had yellow curry and not sure what beer they had. My daughter had fried rice from the kids menu. It's actually a really big portion. She ate about half of it. I recommend if your kid doesn't eat a lot to get the side of fried rice as it is smaller. Also for an appetizer we had the chicken satay. Very delicious. The atmosphere was nice and looks fancy inside. I definitely recommend this place to eat. read more
