Brought back so many childhood memories. The falooda is still a classic. The best in the Bay Area.

In my previous review, I mentioned that I would rather pay the full price for one delicious, flavorful dish than get a Buy One Get One deal with huge portions that tasted bland and disappointing. I also shared what I felt needed to change. This time, the flavor was back to being delicious, rich, and exactly what I was hoping for! The portion and amount of meat have decreased compared with my first order, but honestly, it's still acceptable and, for me, completely worth the price. Getting two flavorful dishes for around $26 is still a great deal. Most importantly, I really appreciate that the owner seemed to listen to the customer feedback and make adjustments rather than simply ignoring it. That deserves recognition. Thank you for listening and adapting to what customers actually want. The taste is what brought me back, and this time, I'm happy to say I enjoyed my meal!

The tandoori chicken is to die for! So tender, juicy, and I know people hate this word but it's also so moist that it is overall delicious. My mozzarella naan is scrumptious but unfortunately there's not a cheese pull. Which is a bummer... Also the butter chicken is so creamy well balance of spices that goes perfectly well with my naan. I also order it mild. Would I come back? ABSOLUTELY of course! A hole in the wall. I'm not exaggerating... personal experience. This restaurant is not hard to miss. It a green building right next to Tostadas. I did a quick pick up through DoorDash for myself. There is a promotion of buy one get one free. Worth it! Also very clean restaurant.

The Thattai Idli is a standout, and the vada is crisp on the outside and perfectly soft inside. The Benne Dosa is terrific, as is the Bisi Bele Bath. The traditional version is excellent, but I particularly love that they make a vegan filter coffee with oat milk. I'll tell you, they had staff walking around asking people if they wanted more sambhar or any of the chutneys. Like wow, it's a small touch, but every other place makes you go up to the counter. Excellent service for this, I'll say. I had a benne dosa, which is supposed to be like back in Bangalore. It was good. Thicker and very crispy. I think the spicy pasta in top just wasn't quite there for me as compared to Dosa Camp. The onion rava was good. Uniquely thin and crispy. And then someone had a mylapore masala, which was ok. Well, been wanting to and finally did it. Thanks guys.

Though they have a lot of BOGO offers, the quantities are very less making the deal far less attractive than what it seems. Coming to the food itself, it's pretty average, the dum biryani had tandoori style red color chicken topped with flavored rice. Not dum biryani from any angle. The mild chicken curry we ordered for take out was literal fire and burnt through my tummy. We then saw a post for unlimited Thursday night chaat and made our way there inspite of being a weekday. After getting seated we were told they decided not to have it due to lack of sufficient patrons. Needless to say we were disappointed but ending up ordering a few dishes. We got chowmein, parotta and some chaat. All the items were good and well made. They also gave us a Bangalore style peas chaat on the house, it tasted exactly like the version my grandma makes. So this was a very decent meal. Overall lot of inconsistency and mixed experiences.

This restaurant is a great representation, the meat is tender and has a clean profile. So clean it's hard to tell the goat is goat! Zero gaminess. And I'm known to detect the slightest of game. The food is extremely flavorful, and pretty greasy but so so delicious. I've made the long drive here quite a few times since I first tried it. The food is consistently good. The Goat is the star but their Chicken is good too, and the Beef is probably my favorite. The rice is so flavorful and cooked just right. But the spaghetti is my favorite... it's exactly like how my mom used to cook spaghetti so its really a personal preference. But I'm pretty sure the rice is the winner amongst the majority. Now my favorite thing here, and now I would consider this my top 5 favorite things to eat period is the Sambosa. Holy moly. The Sambosas are just perfection. The meat and spices are the perfect blend, wrapped in a crispy pillow. You've never had a Sambosa like this. I've only had Indian versions before this... and there is no comparison between the two. At only $3 a piece... these are so worth it and besides that... they're SOOO good. I don't care what you order, just make sure you order at least one of these.

Mango lassi was full of mango flavor with right consistency. Chai was solid and you add your own sugar adjustments. Chicken 65 has some crispy parts to it and spiced amazingly. Chicken was also juicy and tender. It was my first time trying the kothu Parotta and it was delicious and liked the crispy bits of it. The Parotta on its own was soft and fluffy. I got regular butter masala but with mild medium but didn't really taste the spice so I'd go spicy next time if you like spicy. The biryani was good with soft chicken pieces but needs the sauce with the rice. On the drier side for me. Great service here. Small dining area. All their plates and utensils are gold. It's been more than four years since I actively wrote a Yelp review. I stopped because I felt that…read moredining experiences are personal, and everyone should have the opportunity to form their own opinion. Yesterday, however, I changed my mind after having one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had at Saapaaduu. I've tried to dine here a couple of times over the past few years, but it was always crowded, so we ended up leaving. Since we were in the area yesterday, we decided to give it another try. We arrived around 8:00 PM with our family, including kids, and waited about an hour for a table. Even though I added my phone number to the waitlist, I never received any updates, and it didn't seem like people were being called in the order they were added. By the time we were seated, it was already 9:00 PM. We ordered a few dishes. The appetizers--Chicken 65, Chicken Lollipop, and Pallipalayam Chicken--arrived one by one. About 30 minutes later, our server informed us that they were out of Seeraga Samba Chicken Biryani and only had Vijayawada Chicken Biryani available. Since it was already late and we had no real alternative, we agreed. It then took another 20 minutes for the biryani to arrive. Unfortunately, the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani was nothing like a biryani. It was simply dry basmati rice with chicken gravy sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The rice was dry, and the dish lacked the flavor and texture you'd expect from a biryani. I took one spoonful and left the rest--I didn't even want to take it home. The Pallipalayam Chicken tasted nothing but same chicken curry in Vijayawada biryani with coconut chunks and didn't have the authentic flavor I was expecting. Overall, nothing stood out. The food was mediocre at best and did not justify the long wait. The restaurant itself is quite small. The person at the front desk mentioned that it accommodates around 40 guests at a time, which seems about right for the 8-10 tables inside. Given the limited seating and the consistently long wait times, I strongly feel they should implement an online reservation or waitlist system. Families with young children shouldn't have to stand outside for an hour without updates. It almost feels like the long line has become part of the restaurant's image rather than something they're trying to improve. I genuinely wanted to like this place after hearing so much about it over the years, but unfortunately, the overall experience--from the wait, to the service, to the food--was disappointing. I apologize for leaving a negative review, as that's not something I usually do. However, I believe sharing an honest experience is fair to both the restaurant and future customers. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and improves the overall dining experience.
