Wow. Just wow. I HATE WRITING THIS REVIEW because I want this place all to myself! There's not a 6th star, otherwise I'd give that too as well. Could not write enough good things about our first experience at Bandra Cafe. I have nothing but praise for this restaurant! Words cannot describe how impressed I was by the chef and his wonderful team. I could literally rave about this restaurant for HOURS. Our experience was absolutely exceptional. It's not often that from drinks to dessert you like everything set infront of you! You can truly feel the care and talent behind every plate. Everything is curated down to the smallest detail, and the food is absolutely amazing! This restaurant left me in a food coma. I was so full I couldn't even move but that's when you know the food was really good. What truly sets this experience apart is the owner himself. His warmth, humility, and passion for his craft shine through in every bite and every interaction. From the moment we walked in, we could tell this place was going to be special. The food was absolutely delicious--every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put real care into every plate. The service, impeccable. Professional and you are treated like you are their best customer at that moment. Bandra Cafe is one of those places where both the food and the service make you want to come back. The first thing that hit me was the smoke and sizzle of the Szechuan Tikka Sizzler. I wasn't ready for this level of heat!! And don't even get me started on the Quesadilla- it's absolutely scrumptious! The truffle fries are a non-negotiable! And of course I had to jump on the dirty soda trend! But the deliciousness doesn't stop there because the Chilli Chicken was pure satisfaction. And my summer mocktail era starts now with this Chili Mango Refresher. Let's just say my cravings were officially handled with the Bang Bang Cauliflower. And a good latte goes a long way! The cutting chai just fixes everything! Every dish was full of flavour, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully, making it hard to pick a favourite. The food had solid flavours that left us satisfied. The atmosphere is beautiful and lively with a great mix of elegance and comfort that makes the place feel special yet welcoming. From the very first moment, the owner and staff went the extra mile to secure a table for us, offered insightful recommendations that made each dish a perfect choice, and, above all, treated us with such kindness and genuine warmth that we felt right at home. Staff is top level service! You can tell real care and time went into how everything was prepared and presented. That extra attention shows. The attention to detail and dedication to quality shine through in every bite. What really stood out was the ambiance: the decor is stylish, warm, and inviting, making the whole dining experience even better. The decor, lighting, and music created an incredibly comfortable space that made you want to stay longer. Overall, Bandra Cafe is one of those rare places that manages to deliver on both food and experience. I have nothing but top tier, quality experiences and would recommend this place to anyone. Since this restaurant opened a few years ago, we've been coming here on our trips to Surrey and we love the food and atmosphere. The staff is so kind and welcoming, it really is like being part of the family. During this visit we ordered our fave dishes including the savoury chicken tikka masala and the incredible chicken momos. I wasn't a huge fan of the prawn koliwada fry because of the seasoning, but my family enjoyed it. Our server Jana was very kind and knowledgable. Despite managing tables for half the restaurant, she was efficient in taking our orders and attentive when we needed her to come to our table. We also appreciated her sense of humour and friendliness. We love this restaurant and are so excited they've been expanding to other locations. We can't wait to return for another meal here during our next visit to Canada! read more

Came in around 12:30 on a Saturday. Restaurant was quite lively but there were plenty of open tables. The host asked me if I wanted a table in the front or back, and quickly seated me and grabbed me a menu. There were a lot of great sounding fusion items on the menu, and I almost went with one of their brunch items before opting for chicken tikka masala, Kashmiri chai, and pani puri. It took a bit of time before the waitress came back for my order, but my pani puri and chai came out quite quickly. Both were very good, chai very creamy and aromatic, and the pani puri's quite flavorful. My chicken tikka masala came out as I was finishing up the pani puri. It was really hot and the naan was warm, and both were incredibly tasty. Flavor was good, chicken was very tender, overall no complaints! I didn't specify a spice level when ordering and the waitress didn't ask so based on taste they may have defaulted to mild, which tasted great. Oh.my.goodness!! So great. 100% not what we're expecting when we say 'cafe'. But so glad we stayed. It's beautiful and welcoming. Really nice servers; prompt. We both got the Mango Lassi Friend got the Bao Bun (new item) I had the pav bhaji. Mango Lassi was one of the best I have had in a bloody long time. My friends food was great - spicier than she expected but really good. Mine - amazing - exactly what I had been craving but didn't realize it. Been forever since I had and oh man it was great. As we were paying and leaving the cashier asked how everything was. Then actually asked if any feedback on the food or anything. That was a shock. Being bombay-ites this restaurant has been on my radar for a while. Good ambience and young vibe is the restaurant theme. We were greeted and seated quickly. We ordered Banta soda, chicken lollipops, fish and chips, vada pavs , Dahi batata puri. Banta soda was delicious. Refreshing! Chicken lollipops were too red for my liking and the chicken didn't feel fresh . I won't reorder. Vada pav was delicious! Crispy vada with chutneys and the pav was super fresh. It came with a chilli which was roasted and was spicy to the point. Loved it! Star of the show was fish and chips. Chips were crispy and tasty. Bassa fish was delicious and the coating was ultra crispy. Sizzling brownie was fantastic. Gulabjamun cheesecake was exactly that. Nothing to add to that. The only issue I had was with the servers being busy with their friends throughout the service. Our server spent all of her time standing next to a table who were clearly her friends. I don't have a problem with that but she never came back to ask and I had to flag someone else down to ask for water, napkins refill and then we waited for someone to show up to order desserts. I really like the casual vibe of this cafe and restaurant. Seating is comfortable and has an open layout. Food is yummy. Since we went in a group so we happen to taste a lot of items on the menu. 1. Gol-gappa plate was fine , green water could have been way better. They tried but couldn't beat apna chaat house aka showsha so i will go there for gol gappa 2.pav bhaji was really good 3. Paneer dish served with malabar parantha( which ordered as a side) was the best. Soft parantha melted in my mouth and and the spicy paneer dish was funtabulous ( u can make up words these days, consider it my discovery) We ordered kardak chai and indian chai which were too good but the taste was same for both except they were served differently. Oh my God !! How can i forget the best part of the meal. Desert collection is big. We orderd buttered cake with vanila icecream and i must say it was so good. Finally tried this on Diwali (Hindu new year) as been on my list for a while as I love Indian street food and have a special place for all things Bandra suburb in Mumbai (forever Bombay to me). The menu is indo-fusion and we tried the pani puri which was named after Elco which is famous for the pani puri street vendors. It came in a cute cart. It is fried and absolutely a flavor bomb in your mouth with the sweet and savory combo of tamarind and green chutney and presented in such a cute manner. We had the tawa parantha filled with potato (aloo) and gobi (cauliflower) served with fresh homemade yogurt, we both said it was pretty good. I had to get their Frankie with paneer (no egg) and I thought it was good as their wrap is lighter than most places that have this on their menu which came with masala fries or salad, went with the unhealthy option. Then we had the dalebi bread kulcha but neither was expecting it to be what it was and tbh, was my least favorite item but then again I probably over ate and was full by the time I ate it. The masala chai was one of the best I've tried and would go back just for that! We were served by Kushi (what a lovely name) and did not realize she was the daughter of the owner, so sweet and lovely just like what her name means happy. Go try it, and I plan to go back to try their non-vegetarian items as special days like today, was vegetarian, and with Indian street food, usually gravitate to vegetarian options anyways. read more

Finally a casual restaurant in North Delta that has a decent dessert offering! We came in to check it out and try a few items. We arrived about 25 minutes before closing but they were polite and ok to have us sit inside and order that close to closing. We ordered the peri peri wings to start. Ah they were delish! The sauce was super tasty and had a good amount of heat. I would say medium to hot. Served with a dip, which I think was a ranch? it cooled the heat so it was perfect. Also had a side of coleslaw. For dessert we ordered the churros ice cream sundae. The churro was not overly sweet and paired so well with the ice cream. They have other food items we will have to come back and try for lunch and dinner. I would say my only complaint would be that they need to be open later than 10pm! I've been here twice. On both occasions of dinner. The first time was as a group of 15 and the second time was a family of 4. Both occasions the service was outstanding! I love that they had carrom boards out and you could drink chai and play carrom if you wanted to. The lighting is a tad bit on the dark side. The food is great! Our favorites are the pav bhaji, chilli cheese toast and the hill station maggi noodles. The maggi is nostalgia in a bowl. The pav bhaji is tomato goodness. Great place to grab some really Indian street food. Great service, atmosphere, and food. Prices are reasonable and portions huge. The Bombay Chai is a must if you want a traditional creamy Indian tea, none of that chai tea latte nonsense! New restaurant moved into space previously occupied by my favourite breakfast spot so I had to suss it out. I've been here twice so I feel like I have a good grasp of what the service is like. It wasn't too busy either of the times I went so what looked like the only server present was sufficient. We were checked on occasionally and the food came promptly. I was impressed with the manager or owner who came around to apologize for the noise that a large family gathering was making - we were even provided complimentary dessert to make up for it ! The Cafe itself has a chill vibe with booth seating around the perimeter and tables in the middle. The front area also has a small display of baked goods, which I'm assuming is for the Cafe aesthetic. I really liked the large mural and wall art ! So if you're looking for a place to meet up with friends or even study this Cafe is a great local option. The food is advertised as Bombay style street food. I had the Bombay chutney sandwich and Bombay vada pav slider - the handheld come with a side of fries or salad. Both were really yummy but the star is definitely their Masala fries ! I can't imagine eating plain fries again after having such a flavourful side. I also tried the salad - it had pomegranate seeds sprinkled on top which I thought was a cool touch. They have a lot of different coffee and tea options, but I couldn't resist giving the mango drinks a try. The Lassi is nice and refreshing and naturally pairs really well with spicier food (not that anything was too spicy). The mango shake was rich and creamy and I will definitely be coming back for it. we were super excited to try this place out after seeing all the tik toks and were equally disappointed. the food was okay but our waitress seated us and didn't come back for 15 mins, took our orders, brought food 30 mins apart without any of the requests we had. we ordered drinks and she brought out the pitchers and didn't return with our glasses, then got glasses but nothing to stir them with. Their sangria was all nasty juices and nothing like what they advertise. please train your staff better about customer service and how to take, deliver orders!! read more
