I'd been wanting to try Duke's Fine Ice Cream for quite awhile as I'd read rave reviews about the place. We finally had a chance to drop by, and so we ordered a flight which comes with four different flavors of ice cream. For our four flavors, we chose: S'mores Rose Pistachio Mint Chocolate Chip Honey Lavender I really wanted to love this place as I'd heard so much about it, but I have to admit...it really fell short of my expectations. The ice cream is good and still a great treat for anyone who's in the neighbourhood to stop by for. It just wasn't as good as people had made it out to be. The flavors were quite subtle and not as pronounced as I would have liked them to be. Rose Pistachio was the best of the four flavors. Even in this one though, I felt that the flavors could have been stronger. I'd had pistachio and lavender gelato elsewhere, earlier in the summer and the flavors were much more distinct than they were here at Duke's Fine Ice Cream. Service: Good Parking: Free parking on the street Location: 6758 188 St. #104, Surrey

Oreo and Snickerdoodle (seasonal)

This little hidden gem has one of the best flavour selections and ice cream quality I've tried in the lower mainland. Their flavours change with the seasons and right now I definitely recommend trying their snickerdoodle flavour. It's been my go-to this month; the ice cream itself has an unbelievably creamy texture and is packed with chunks of snickerdoodle. Their oreo and cereal flavours also never disappoint - my favourite is the captain crunch. Hoping this place will get the hype it deserves because I can't recommend them enough!!

One of the best ice creameries in the lower mainland! It is worth the drive and there are other good foodie gems in the area to make a day of it if you're from the other side of the bridge like me. The staff are so kind and it was family owned and operated but last night noticed some nice new additions to the team! Im glad they are busy and able to onboard new staff and hope this means expansion to other locations!! The flavours are nearly endless and they have a great selection of ice creams, sorbets and milkshakes/floats. Anything ending in "cereal milk" is a MUST (I mean, if you love cereal and milk and great flavour). They have a flight option that gives you 4 choices if you cannot decide, like me, and is a superb deal to check off some flavours in one go.

Republica Earl Grey and Chocolate Malt Crunch

A definitely nice hidden gem in the suburbs for ice cream. Located in newly developed neighborhood, its décor gave both classic and modern charms. And if you love strongly flavoured ice cream, you should give their Republica Earl Grey and Chocolate Malt Crunch a try. The earl grey was very robust and had distinctive bergamot tastes, very pleasant at this temperature. While the chocolate malt was a wonderland to kids of all ages. A strong malty flavour that complimented the chocolate very well plus the Malteser bits were a perfect match. The serving size were also quite generous for the price which was definitely a plus. Check them out if you are in the area.

Neighbourhood ice cream shops are the best. Duke's is no exception. Duke's is a charming little ice cream shop. The decor is simple with the menu being the main attraction. No silly distractions or unnecessary clutter. There are enough flavours of ice cream and sorbet to please most palates with sizes for kids and kids at heart. While I didn't take advantage of the offer, there is a 4 scoop flight available which sounds awesome. I tried two sorbets. The mango which was divine and tasted so amazingly fruity and the guava which was less potent, but still a tasty time. The service wasn't exactly fast, but they were busy with a non-stop lineup before and after we rolled thru. I'll definitely be back to try some more flavours in the future!

Earl gray and pistachio rose

A hidden gem for artisan ice cream in Surrey (close to the Langley border) that I didn't even know exist! We got two flavours - earl gray and pistachio rose and both were delicious! Just as good as Earnest and Rain or Shine in Vancouver. Would highly recommend if you are ever out that way!

This is such a reasonable ice cream shop to go to (cheaper than a cup of coffee) with unique flavour and decent scoop that satisfy your palette. The other day my family tried: Mango Sorbet, Coconut Cream, Captain Crunch Cereal, Bailey khalua, Chocolate Malt. Everyone's comment: There is a reason why it's called Fine Ice Cream

Peanut Butter Fudge Swirl pint - absolutely delicious! (December 2022)

This place deserves all the stellar reviews it receives! After hearing all the raves about Duke's, I decided to check it out. The woman working there was so nice and helpful - I cannot say enough about how amazing their customer service is. I had heard so much about their Peanut Butter Fudge Swirl flavor and wanted to get a pint of it. However, it seemed that they had run out of that flavor in their pint size according to the board. When I told the woman that I had wanted that flavor in their take home pints, she told me she could make a pint of that flavor right then and proceeded to get it ready for me. She was so sweet and accommodating, and made my whole experience there even better. As for their ice cream? It is delicious! Their Peanut Butter Fudge Swirl is so good! If you're a peanut butter lover like me, you will absolutely adore this flavor. I know it's a seasonal flavor, though, so if you can get your hands on it while it's available, I highly recommend you do so. Duke's has so many delectable sounding flavors and combinations, and it's obvious how much care and quality they put into their ice cream. This is most definitely a small business that is so worth supporting!

Wonderful place - interesting flavors and friendly service. The cookies and creme was best I've ever had - huge chunks of Oreos.

When getting the matcha ice cream, I suggest getting straight matcha instead of the twist with vanilla because the vanilla washes out the matcha; it comes through better on its own. The sundaes are fun and a good, more affordable alternative to the similar parfaits at high end matcha cafes. I tried the tuna egg salad crepe and thought it was actually really good! The crepe was fresh and tender, there was a healthy amount of filling, and the tuna salad was actually mostly tuna with just enough mayo to hold it together which is how I prefer it. Again, the service is just through a window - you actually order at an electronic kiosk and the only interaction with a person is when your order is ready. There are two small tables outside if you want to eat there. During the busy summer season, it's very difficult to actually secure one of these tables, but there's other seating on the pedestrian streets just a few blocks away on Robson.

Liked how the parfait has different toppings throughout and the cereal added great texture.
