The people seemed nice, so I'm being kind by giving them two stars. The service was very slow and inefficient. The "Tex-Mex" was neither Tex nor Mex. The refried beans tasted like they were straight from a can. The carnitas was subpar. There were hard, inedible pieces and the primary flavor was salt. The burritos were covered in so much cheese, you couldn't tell what was in it. The restaurant was very tired looking and not very neat or clean. I live a mile from here, but won't be back. read more

Tacos were great as per usual. We will be back after the mask mandate as we chose freedom.

The food is delicious and the drinks are so good! JR and Fernando are the best! JR makes the best drinks too. We love the Old Fashions and the Pomegranate margarita. The enchilada, tostadas and relleno was so good! We love splitting at the bar and talking to these guys! read more

Bandido's - Mexican Near Me - Denver, Colorado

See all

This is the best locals Mexican Restaurant in the Denver Metro area. My wife is VERY particular about her Mexican food and she raves about the spicy green chili (if you don't like it, then you're admitting to being a sissy)! Great food and family friendly, you're getting authentic Mexican dishes from people that know what should go on the plate! In short, I love to eat here (my Cuban mother would kill me if she caught me here), you will too! read more

This was our first time at the restaurant and the food was pretty good however the taco meat was a bit runny and the rice seem to be a little old. We also had a pretty long wait for our food (about 35 minutes from ordering). However the staff was very friendly and apologetic. Considering the prices (about $12 a person including drink) this was not a bad restaurant. However to be completely honest I really doubt that they will earn my business again only because of their lack of originality on their menu and the lack of distinct taste that would differentiate this restaurant from any other Mexican restaurant. read more

Seriously amazing service and the food was pretty darn great as well!!! Margaritas were perfect!!!! I will most definitely tell everyone I know to try this restaurant!! Thank you Bandidos for a great experience!!! read more

Pretty good food. A little pricey. It comes in handy because there no other decent Mexican food in the area. The chili con queso is delicious. ROCIO the waitress is awesome! read more

Excellent food, excellent margaritas, exceptional staff! This is a hidden gem of Littleton . Very clean and safe with covid precautions- highly recommend! read more

Best Michelada around! The food is alright nothing to rave about but it's super close to my house & run by an entire family. I would rather give my money to local family owned smaller businesses than go elsewhere read more

Oh boy this is my favorite little Mexican restaurant. I like this place as the green chili is really good I tell ya. I asked my wife what she thinks of this place and she said, "it's ok." I know my wife doesn't like this place like I do. Then I asked her, "what is your favorite Mexican restaurant?" and she said, "I don't know." I thought that was an interesting answer, but all I said was, "Oh." Her favorite food is sushi FYI. Not only do I like eating Bandido's, I like eating sushi with her too. We took our young daughter here and our waitress was very sweet. I think my daughter likes this place too, but I don't know for sure because she can't talk yet. read more

This is true Mexican food! I can't believe they would have any bad reviews. So much better La Loma. Plus the employees are so nice! Check it out! read more

Well, it wasn't inedible, but my high school cafeteria had better tacos than this. Overall I'd say it was disappointing and bland.

Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a sign asking us to wait to be seated. This is not normally an issue at all unless a guest stands there for 3 minutes while making eye contact with various staff members during that period before being verbally greeted. The customary salsa and chips brought to the table was a disappointment. How hard is it to make sure salsa isn't half water? I fear that the quality presented to us is a harbinger of further disappointment. I ordered a bandido burrito with chicken. I received a flat uninspired lump. A large tortilla not even half full drenched in a bland green chili. The house margarita required a search and rescue team to locate the tequila that was supposed to be hiding within. Our waiter was a nice person and that was about the best aspect of my visit. read more

People are so amazing and food tastes great. I have been going to this restaurant my whole life and it is always a treat. Check out this nice family run resturant. read more

Good size meals, good price. Slightly tuned to the white neighborhood, needs much more heat in spice to everything. Green chili white man gravy, good taste but want hotter! or choice of hot or mild! read more

I have been to this place literally over 100 times. Good food and consistent for the most part. They recently jumped the price on all their menu items. :( Still it's pretty good. read more

Bandidos is an old favorite. It's food is authentic and reliably good. I wish it had a more inviting bar setup because the one that's there has about only three or four seats in the end of the bar appears to be used as a counter for management to clutter up and work on. Delete environment is nice but generally I prefer to order my food and pick it up to eat at home since I live so nearby. read more

My parents had been mentioning this little restaurant for quite some time so we decided to join them last Saturday after a trip to the Denver Auto Show. Bandido's is tucked away on a little strip mall off of Kipling just south of Quincy. It truly is a little neighborhood gem if there ever is one. While the cuisine is good and tasty, I give the establishment 2 stars because 1) it doesn't really stand out from any of the other Mexican food places that I have visited and as a matter of fact lacks in several areas and 2) granted it was a busy Saturday evening but it took a very long time to get our check at the end of our meal even after saying we were finished with the meal and our plates had been cleared. One other gripe, though it wasn't relevant to my entree was my Dad ordered the fajitas and while they brought plenty of meat and onions/peppers, the condiments were a tad scarce (small plate of cheese, guac, sour cream, and pico) and he only received 3-4 very small tortillas. My girlfriend was generous enough to give up half of her much larger tortilla so he could finish off his fixin's. As for my meal, I got the Bandiburger which is a double burger smothered with green chili. The chili is good but not at all spicy. The meat however was very flavorful and really stood out in the mixture going on on the plate. My girlfriend had a combo plate (chili relleno) which looked good and my mom had a Mexican hamburger which was very similar to my meal sans the bun and French Fries. The other thing that makes this restaurant a bit below the other places we've been to is that they charge an extra $2.00 for rice and beans on their combo meals and an extra $0.99 for extra chips and salsa (which are cold and seemed to be either store bought or made in the morning and left out all day). Overall the food is good, but I feel one can definitely get a better experience for the buck elsewhere. read more

Small portions and impatient waitress. Food is good though, but you can find something just as decent elsewhere.

Don't let the strip mall location fool you. I've been here twice and enjoyed both visits. They have excellent salsa & margaritas!! I heard about this place from a friend that heard about this place through a FaceBook page called "Ken Caryl Friends". Highly recommend, it's a hidden gem. read more

If you go to casa Bonita for the fine dining then you'll like this place. I found it to be mediocre at best and found the service nonexistent. I found the bill to be a shock for what I got. Won't be going back. read more

Delicious! I called ahead to order food so I could pick it up after a long day of yard work! When I got there, it wasn't quite ready yet, so I had a margarita at the bar while I waited. It was good. The dining area isn't HUGE, but adequate. Staff was friendly. The food was delicious and hot even when I got home. It's in a small shopping strip off Kipling, and I imagine it's not real busy... But definitely a place to try! I'll be back! read more

Stopped in for a quick drink! The best margaritas!!! We ordered the Burrito-de-chile relleno and it was DeLICIous! If your looking for good mexican food... This is your spot! read more

Unfortunately, the demographic of Bandidos consists of white, suburban, middle class Americans who do not have a reference as to what good Mexican food is. Therefore they believe this "food" is the greatest. This not the case. Sopapillas should never be served with cheap honey packets. Food has no flavor. read more

My family has been visiting Bandidos for 20 years. The food is very consistent, always fresh, and wait staff are pleasant. Portions are good and you can ask for spicy chili if that's what you like. They had the best flan for dessert for a long time, but it isn't offered anymore. I will continue to go here as one can always get a tasty hot meal in a quiet neighborhood atmosphere. read more

Old, outdated, and extremely mediocre excuse for Mexican food. For those of you who think this is good Mexican food, you need to get out more. Don't waste your time here at all. Gross! Makes Casa Bonita look like 5 star cuisine if that helps you decide! read more

Haven't been here in a while and I'm so glad we came in. the service was fast and friendly. The food was really good and my boyfriend and I will definitely be back. read more

Traditional Mexican food! I love their smothered bean burritos. It is a family favorite "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant!

I'm giving this little gem 4 stars. I've had the carnitas platter and tacos and both were good. The carnitas more so. The margaritas are great and they have a decent variety. Definitely appears to be family run. I live 1/2 mile from this place and have visited a few times now and never disappointed. For the quality and the price, 4 stars is fair to me. read more

Bandido's is big enough and open enough to fit a large group, but quiet and cozy enough to have a conversation at your booth with your friends. the food is good, and priced fairly. 3 beers on tap is nice, more would be better, but at least they have beer! Sometimes the waiters are a little slow, but the waitresses all seem quick and friendly. No matter which new mexican restaurant we try, we always seem to come back to bandido's! read more

I grew up in the neighborhood and my family has ate here for over 20 years. The quality of food has never faltered. Their chili is delicious, not too spicy. Smothered bean burrito is my all time favorite but everything from their chimichangas to enchiladas are delicious. Comfort food for Colorado natives! read more

A good, local restaurant with excellent food at reasonable prices. I usually have the smothered burrito with a soft drink. Service could be better but Bandido's is a good standby if you're in the neighborhood. Don't make a special trip to eat here. read more

If you're expecting authentic Mexican food, this place is not for you. Maybe it's just me but when I go to a Mexican restaurant and order a taco I don't expect a hard shell taco. I feel safe saying that Taco Hell has better hard shell tacos. To add on top of that the service was not very good either. We felt forgotten most of the time. Weird atmosphere as well, it was just not a very comfortable place to eat. The salsa was good though. read more

Went there for the first time today. Won't be going back the food was mediocre the margarita was only ok the service was spotty. If you looking for good Mexican food try El Tapatio. But stay away from this place read more

Took over an hour to get lunch. Place wasn't that busy. Food was stale. Plate was super hot so you could tell it was ready and just sitting under a heat lamp waiting for the server. I ordered the taco and tostada lunch combo. Apparently taco only comes with meat and cheese. Not hot sauces were offered or available for food. When we arrived a table near the door was not bussed and when we left that same table still hadn't been bussed. Would not recommend or return. read more

I used to really like this place but I feel like the food has gone downhill. The only reason I'd ever go back is for the margaritas.

Great food with super friendly staff. The best chili relleno in town!

Bandido's is my local Mexican place and my family and I go quite often. I always get a smothered bean burrito because I love their beans and green chile. However, while really good in flavor the green chile is not at all spicy, so if that is something you need then this is not the place for you. (For great, spicy pork green chile in the same area, try Maria's over by Bear Creek High School.) Other good items are the enchiladas and flautas. I love the staff here too. They are always very friendly and attentive, but not overly so. It's a nice, quiet, simple Mexican restaurant and I recommend it. read more

Been coming here for a long time with my family, maybe once a year for the last 10, and I have no idea why. Look, feel, and food deserve a 1 star, but the service is always prompt and friendly. Literally no flavor and, although I can't say for sure, I'm almost positive they use the cheapest ingredients and premade things from the local grocery store. Bleh. read more

Go to this place regularly with my husband and always have a great time with awesome Margaritas and great food. I also hang with my girl friends here, all King Sooper employees. Jr takes great care to serve everyone with a smile. I've been to all kinds of restaurants and am a home chef thanks to the food network and my 40 years in the food business and it is so nice to have a quite place with great food to relax in and enjoy in the neighbor hood. Did I mention the Margaritas! Thank you JR and family. read more
