Wanted to try the satay Benedict but the fried chicken Benedict had a yellow curry hollandaise which I never heard of before so I had to give it a shot. Very glad I did, will definitely be coming back to give more of their dishes a try. Only one server when I was there and despite the restaurant being full, they did a great job handling everyone's requests so shoutout to the server for the hard work. Everything was delicious and I'm very happy I decided to stop by and try!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a fun Thai brunch experience, conveniently close to home! A totally instagrammable experience, Banana Leaf delivered in terms of checking all the boxes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Because this spot is turning heads, we called ahead to see what the wait time would be for a party of 2x and went close to opening hours on Saturday around 9:30-10ish. Make sure to peep their hours because they do have separate daytime and evening hours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute and cozy indoor space, we had the lemon ricotta pancakes, fusion chicken satay (chicken satay with egg, peanut sauce, taters, cucumber salad, sautéed onions), the Gra Pow Gai Kai Dao (ground chicken with veggies in a Thai basil sauce over jasmine rice topped with an egg), and Thai Iced Teas[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Everything was honestly delicious and a nice change to the typical cereal and milk pajamas at-home combo. Pancakes not too sweet, just right. The chicken satay breakfast plate, a fun upgrade to getting as an appetizer, and the Gra Pow Gai Kai Dao..reminiscent of our honeymoon in Thailand. Great flavor! I love that there is a little something for everyone here to explore their tastebuds and also explore brunch items that may have familiarity, but with a fun twist. I have my eye on the Crab Benedict, the Thai Tea pancakes, and other brunch items like the Loco Moco. I've heard they have a bomb fried chicken sandwich and fun drink menu. Speaking of, there is a daily happy hour for the evening hours. Would love to come back and try some Thai street food! Other things to note, location is in a smaller business complex, so sometimes parking can be tight.

Everything was just mid. They try really hard to make the food look cute which is nice, but they use very subpar ingredients. (i.e. We ordered padkeemao and they used instant ramen noodles.) We were just mostly not... impressed in any way (for the price they charged us especially!) We ordered roti & curry appetizer for $13 and literally ONE roti came out with a tiny sauce plate of curry. My friend took me here for my birthday celebration, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. The menu is pretty big so it took us quite a min to select what we wanted to order. I finally ordered a traditional French toast w/ no whip cream, a scrambled 2 eggs hard with some bacon. Now this wasn't used any type of bacon it was listed as plumalicious bacon and if you love bacon you will not be disappointed. I also ordered a peach mimosas. I would love to go back and order other things off the menu. The food came out really fast. I didn't like that they was bringing go the food like I didn't order a meal. First they brought out my eggs and bacon. I actually send it back and asked can they bring it out all at once.
Finally got to try this place out for dinner! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is so nicely decorated, and the ambiance is light and warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was also fast. The food was pretty good, i would say that the portions for the pricing were a little unbalanced, but not too far off from pricing at most places these days :') The sweet chicken tacos were tasty, but it's not really shareable since it's just two tacos. The mountain beef was good but not much curry. The meat however, was pretty tender and tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, this place is really great for a quick meal or just a place to eat and chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Really enjoyed the wide selection of food, definitely hope to drop by another time for some brunch :)
The fun and interesting breakfast menu was the attraction to this place. I had been here for dinner, but had not been back since they expanded to serving breakfast. We had a very sweet waitress that was attentive and helpful in answering questions. We had the mini-chicken and waffle, and the BL Omelette, which had all kinds of veggies, bacon bits and cheese along with their roasted potatoes and salad. I have to say the plating here is an art form, worthy of a visit on it's own. The waffle looked a bit overdone, but it tasted like maple cake! It was really good, but the fried chicken nuggets were definitely over done. They were crispy on the outside, but pretty dry on the inside. The omelette plate was great, with plenty of potatoes and stuffed full of bacon bits, veggies and cheese. It was really good. Bringing the kids back next time for breakfast. They'll love it.
The venue, reminiscent of an older small shack, feels intimate and wholesome. While it's decently sized, be prepared for potential weekend crowds as its popularity grows. I had an order of the Thai Tea French Toast, Stuffed French Toast, Chicken and Waffles, and the Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict. For the Thai Tea French Toast, it had a symphony of flavors! The French toast strikes the perfect balance--crunchy edges, soft center--drizzled with a unique Thai tea syrup. Fresh strawberries, kiwis, and blueberries complete this heavenly creation! The stuffed French toast was, as expected, sweet, filling, and utterly delicious. Note that it's a substantial dish due to the stuffing! The chicken and waffles was good! The chicken--crispy outside, juicy inside--is a chef's kiss. However, the waffles lacked cohesion, falling apart instantly. Still, a good overall choice. Lastly, the fried chicken eggs benedict was delicious! The yellow curry hollandaise impresses with just the right amount of curry flavor. Subtle and lingering, it pairs well with the perfectly fried chicken. The only hiccup? The potatoes needed seasoning! My overall experience here was a good one and I will return soon to try more items on the menu! Check it out!!

I'm just visiting and decided to stop in here for brunch based off a recommendation from our host. Well worth the experience. We ordered the Thai tea French toast, loco moto, bacon Benedict, and Kaeng Karee. All of the food was delicious! We were pleasantly surprised with each dish. We also ordered the Thai tea tini and February 15 drinks. Both were fantastic, but I have to give an honorable mention to the February 15. It tastes like a Pink Drink from Starbucks but without the coconut milk. The service was great, absolutely no complaints. The ambiance was also nice inside. We loved it so much we're going back again today!
I ate lunch here with some good friends yesterday . I thought it was going yo be a thai meal! There was a combo thai lunch with all the usual thai entrees and appetizers and rice and salad included . The menu has a brunch with a twist. I was intrigued by the breakfast items. The texas toast Stuffed french toast looked amazing , chicken and waffle, there were many different Benedict's . I chose the plumlucios bacon Benedict. English muffin with avocado, maple bacon , onion , tomato, egg, It was perfect ! The pouched egg was runny with a firm white the bacon was yummy! With Just the right amount of hollandaise sauce! There was also an ample amount of delicious roasted potatoes and a salad as well! The thai dishes That Toni and Terry had looked yummy and fresh!
Came here early for brunch around 11 on a Monday. Got lucky and didn't have to wait to be seated! Cozy, comfortable ambiance and I can see how you'd have a good time here. Also service was great, not too much but they also don't ignore you. Waters refilled thrice and food comes out fast and beautifully! They've got it together here. Plus free parking lot parking, I live!! I loved what I got--Thai pancakes with a side of fried eggs and chicken apple sausage. The pancakes weren't overalls sweet but I could taste the delicious spices and flavors from the sauce. Pancakes were also perfectly fluffy and with two, easy to share. Appreciated the fresh fruits and some cornflakes for crunch on top. 10/10 Matcha latte came out looking sooo cute! Made sure to take my lactate pill first before I dove into that whipped cream. But super yummy, well blended matcha hidden underneath. Another solid 10. My friend and I had such a good time here. All in all, I'm definitely coming back and trying more of the menu. This is a place that still cares about good service and taking care of customers. Definitely worth stopping by and dining IN.

Another great fusion brunch spot for the books! I was so surprised how little people were here on a Saturday at 11am!! they have a huge menu to choose from, and I especially recommend visiting on a weekend for their weekend brunch. I recommend getting the pork belly eggs benedict - the pork was so crispy!! the English muffin was nothing special, but the potatoes were so good. The service is relatively quick, and the presentation is so beautiful! I love how they have an option for bottomless mimosas and it's a great spot to do a brunch with your friends. read more

I'm so sad to see that Banana Leaf has closed. This place was my go-to for breakfast/brunch with friends. I literally just recommended it to a friend and came here and to my surprise, they have closed down. One of my favorites on the menu was their Thai tea French toast. The best French toast I've ever had. The strawberry matcha was also a go-to. Such a gem of a restaurant. read more
First off the parking situation is very easy! There is plenty of street parking. There's a designated lot for the Bishop Shopping Center. And if for some reason that fails it's across the street from Home Depot which has a huge lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My partner recommended Banana Leaf had the perfect amount of customers around lunch time. It wasn't empty. But it wasn't so full to the point there was a long wait[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came here on two occasions. The Thai Tea pancakes are not considered breakfast. They can be ordered any day/time. They have a separate breakfast menu for weekends. There was some minor confusion about that. The first visit we ordered the beef noodle soup. The portions are very generous! You get your choice of noodles. We also had the mango sticky rice and the roti ice cream. The beef noodle soup was very filling. It had a slightly sweet note. As you can see there's lots of veggies and beef! Be warned for those with the cursed soapy gene, that there is some cilantro. The second occasion I got the Thai tea pancakes! Presentation is beautiful! The antennae is uncooked pasta lol. The pancakes came out much earlier than the fried chicken Benedict (not pictured). Again the portions are pretty large! You'll likely be very full after one entree. I did get the taste of Thai tea when dipping in the sauce. The fruit seems to change seasonally because I saw previous photo had a slice of dragonfruit. The yellow curry hollandaise on the fried chicken benny was a delightful twist! And service was super nice! I'd be back for that. read more

The pumpkin Duck is good, come with yellow curry, very tasteful. However the rest of the items are quite disappointing, papaya salad is ok, pad thai and the Tom yum are below par. Service is ok, not too many people in the dining room anyway. read more

Love this new-ish All day Asian-fusion brunch spot with cocktails (thank you liquor license) basically the east bay version of concords Hangout 1. Thank you for having a parking lot 2. All day brunch is amazing and I think they close by 2ish on the weekdays before reopening 3. My personal faves are the Roti-Rio, loco moco duck breast AND the honey oat lavender latte, ANY of their fried chicken dishes in fact get it as a side with that yummy sweet and sour Spicy sauce read more

Soooo ... I didn't enjoy the brunch I had in restaurant, but I think I ordered the wrong thing. I did an Uber eats order with the French toast and candied bacon and it was DELICIOUS. Most recently went in for dinner. It was a Wednesday night so not busy at all, and the food was good! read more

So damn delicious. I forget that this place is here because it shares a parking lot with a dispensary (and the lot is always full), but everytime I come here I am impressed with the food. I've only come for brunch and will review again when I've returned for dinner. We ordered the buttermilk pancakes, an eggs benedict, banana parfait, and fried rice. My kiddos thought their meals were great, and I absolutely loved the fried rice. The sunny side egg on top really made it a savory breakfast meal, and even my picky a$$ son said it was exceptional. Service here is great, they have a good brunch drink menu in terms of caffeinated, non-alcoholic, and alcohol options... and once you're inside you forget that there is a dispensary 50ft away. No issues with the dispensary other than it makes parking a pain in the butt. read more

Parking was easy enough, just off the main street. Place is a little small, but cute. We got there a little bit after it opened so it wasn't too crowded. The staff are super friendly and attentive, real nice mom and mom shop. They seemed to really want feedback on the food. We were pretty indecisive over our drinks and changed our minds a few times. I decided on the thai tea latte as I kinda wanted to know what differentiated it from a thai tea. My friend got the honey oat lavender latte. Both were really good and nice and soothing on a cold Sunday morning after a nice hike. We really couldn't decide and wanted to try everything on the menu. We decided to split one savory and one sweet entree and couldn't resist the plumlicious bacon that's a mainstay here. Mmm... the Thai tea pancakes were amazing, loved the fruit they put on top. Definitely a unique dish! Pleasing to the eyes and the palate! Would recommend! We were deciding between the pancakes or the french toast. The table next to us arrived part way through our meal and were having the same dilemma and asked if we were enjoying the pancakes. They wound up ordering the same thing! The duck loco moco, mmmm. Never had anything like this before, would recommend. Amazing flavor! Plumlicious bacon, super decadent. The only disappointment was on their Instagram, the bacon is shown as one giant slab that you can hold up. Ours were just regular old bacon strips. Delicious nonetheless, but not that same wow factor! Overall, I'd definitely come back! read more

Heavy pours for bottomless mimosas for a table for 2. Reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Quick, polite and most importantly patient. Ambiance was average in volume. They have music playing, seasonally decorated. I've never had duck loco moco however I was impressed with the flavors especially the expected flavors. Chicken satay was good. I failed to realize it was an actual entree, not an appetizer. Parking is shared, however there is curbside parking. read more

We celebrated a birthday here on. Weeknight. Everything we ordered was so good. The flavors of the dishes were not overpowering. Everything was delicious! For starters we had Fresh Spring Roll, Roti Dip, and Moo Krob. The accompanying sauces matched well with each dish. For the noodle soup we had the Kao Poon which was creamy and had light spice. We ordered dishes from the Chef Special and they were all delicious - Roti Gai Tod with perfectly crunchy chicken , Paradise Chicken , and Pad Thai Gai Tod. Of course we had birthday noodles , Pad Kee Mao with pork. The service was excellent and we did not have to wait for our food too long (less than 15 minutes). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did not give a 5 rating because the interior was not very pretty or conducive for dining[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I would order take out instead and we noticed a lot of orders for take out. Reminiscent of a brunch version of farmhouse Thai Unlimited mimosa- generous pours into medium sized glasses, and frequent check ins and top ups Calamari - tender on the inside, lightly breaded, typical Sriracha mayo Fried chicken (definitely a Farm house dupe) - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, super good! - curry and potato went well with the roti, I would've liked more spice or redness though - rice was jasmine Thai tea French toast - creamy Thai tea dressing all over the French toast. Was unique but I wish the tea flavor was stronger a it felt more like a milky frosting. I think it could've benefited from a concentrated syrup and fresh cream instead of how they did it here Atmosphere felt a cute little tiki- bar island vibes, however I did not like the smell of urine. They definitely need to air out the restaurant and clean the sticky residue from the floors as the smell detracted from the food Overall it was good food and friendly service. It was nice and moderately filled with a mix of people. Anuska was our wonderful waitress for the afternoon; she was not even phased when I jokingly said I would like to order 1 of everything off the menu. She just smiled and said she would love it if I did, but we both knew I wasn't trying to be were all day or spend that kind of money. Next best thing to do was get the most tasty foods we could try and save some for another round. While waiting for our most scrumptious order, we took in the es. Came in on early sunday afternoon for brunch. Place was full but wait was not long. Service was excellent. We ordered: 1) duck loco moco - 4 of of 5. Excellent flavors and duck well cooked but not as flavorful as i expected for thai restaurant. 2) thai tea french toast 5/5. Syrup was awesome and no as cloying sweet as feared. Covered in lots of fresh fruit and whip cream. 3) plum bacon 4.5/5 lots of flavor including smokey notes. Wished dipping sauce was less sweet and more heat tho. 4) thai tea latte 5/5. Great flavor and not too sweet. 5) coffee 5/5. No bitter notes and fresh. We eill be baxk to try more! read more

I've been wanting to try this restaurant after I found it on Yelp earlier last week. The pictures and menu looked very appetizing and reminded me of another Thai restaurant in Berkeley. It's also under new management, so I asked the woman when I picked up my order if the new manager is the same one that owns Sistory Thai in Berkeley. She said yes they are and that she also works at that location too! I knew I recognized the similarities in the menu items lol. I'm so happy though, because now I don't have to go to Berkeley to eat my favorite dishes from there, because it's now at Banana Leaf! Anyways, we ordered on the phone and requested the kaeng karee gai tod and fried chicken over fried rice. It was around 2pm and I didn't realize that the fried chicken over fried rice was a dinner entree. However, the woman on the phone was said they were probably able to make it. I felt kind bad because I didn't realize there were two different menus. The restaurant closes at 2:30pm and opens back up at 5pm I believe. When I arrived, she told me that it was a slow day, so they were able to make the fried chicken over fried rice. She says we can always call and ask and if it's not busy, they should be able to make it. She was very friendly! The restaurant is bigger than Sistory Thai, however, the parking lot is small. It's hard to miss if you're driving on the main road because the restaurant is nestled in the corner behind the bushes/tress. It's behind Brasil Bistro. The kaeng karee gai tod is something I usually order at Sistory Thai and it's my favorite! The roti and curry dip is very delicious and the fried chicken is nicely fried with a light batter and is not greasy at all. My bf ordered the fried chicken over fried rice and says it's fresh and would get again. Very similar to the one at Sala Thai. I'm very happy that I discovered Banana Leaf and that they offer similar menu items as their other restaurant, Sistory Thai. I can't wait to come back and dine-in for brunch and will be ordering my Thai food from here from now on! read more

First word that came to mind when I took my first bite of everything was....FLAVORFUL! Everything I ordered was soo good. This spot is really a hidden gem. I'd expect this to have more reviews than it has now with how good the food is. Maybe if more people knew about it. But pad see ew, red curry and nam Kao just packed a punch of flavors as soon as you taste it. WHEN: Mon @9am Came here at opening time on a Monday so you can imagine it not being too busy at all. With it located inside an outdoor shopping area type, there was free parking right in front. We did family style so I was able to try all sorts of things such as: STRAWBERRY MATCHA LATTE - $6 You definite taste the strawberry and the matcha but perhaps you'll want it to be a bit sweeter. I enjoyed it, and told myself it doesn't need to be sweet since I had French toast to help balance it out. It's a cute drink garnished with whipped cream (which didn't seem to mix well with he matcha) and strawberry slice. KAENG KAREE GAI TOD - $20 Crispy Chicken Thigh, YellowCurry Sauce, Roti, Cucumber Salad, Jasmine Rice. This was so good. I love Roti, and the chicken was light airy and crispy and tender on the inside--as if it was sous vide. The curry dipping sauce was plentiful and yummy. I'm glad we ordered this. CRISPY THAI TEA FRENCH TOAST - $16 Homemade Thai tea syrup, honey roasted oats, mixed berries, whipped cream. To make it a complete meal (2 Eggs Plumlicious Bacon) it's an additional $12. The bacon is pretty much Millionaires Bacon--thick, sweet, savory cuts of bacon. Not bad. The French toast was good and was drenched in that Thai tea sauce so you don't need any maple syrup. I enjoyed it. LOCO MOCO DUCK BREAST - $26 Homemade roasted marinated duck breast, jasmine rice fried egg, sauteed onions, mushrooms, crispy basil, homemade gravy sauce I only had a small piece of this and thought it was quite good! My friend who ordered it complained there was too much grilled onions but I don't see that as problem. I don't usually order Loco Mocos but I"m glad my friend did so I can try it, and I like liked it! Staff was friendly and the service was good. I ordered a combination soup noodle while my partner ordered a fried chicken curry and a cocktail. I have traveled to Thailand before. Food here is very fresh and authentic. My partner complained about the cocktail being not sweet enough. But I think that is what food and drinks SHOULD be. The taste should never be overpowered by sugar! Or corn syrup. read more
Banana Leaf now has new management and has added breakfast on their menu alongside their lunch and dinner menu. It was great being able to reserve a table for brunch as that cuts down on the brunch wait time that many of us Bay Area folks fear! Easy to book on Yelp. It is a smaller restaurant but the seating is nicely spaced out and the interior is gorgeous. Banana Leaf shares parking with the dispensary Nug next door, however there is plenty of street parking as well. We had no trouble finding parking and the Bart is close by for easy access as well. The brunch menu has many options from savory to sweet and some with a mixture of both. It was nice to see a mixture of Thai fusion dishes for breakfast. However, though it was not a full house, the food service was slow. My partner received her food 7 minutes before I received mine. When her plumlicious bacon benedict came she said her poached egg, bacon, and sauce were all cold. The side potatoes were hot but everything else felt like it had been sitting. The English muffins were also not toasted so became soggy quickly. The plating was gorgeous, the flavor was there, but the service timing and temperature were off. It was awkward to wait that long for my food to come out while my partner had received hers so long before me. The fried chicken eggs Benedict was delicious and a large portion of fried chicken is served! The curry hollandaise sauce was so tasty and a great pairing. My eggs were also cold and the only saving grace was the hot chicken that warmed up the rest of my bites. I would love to try Banana Leaf again when they've had some time to settle into new management. I will definitely be back to try their dinner as well! we were seated right away, slightly after 12p on a Wednesday. Came with 2 co-workers, one ordered cheeseburger with fries and the other who suggested this spot had a bacon fried rice dish which came with an egg on top. I ordered spring rolls and tofu and in my opinion, it was just okay. The sauce for the tofu was honestly the highlight of the dish but other than that it was just blah and I felt the same about the spring rolls. I've been to Banana Leaf quite a few times with friends. It's American/Thai Fusion. Restaurant is small, quaint. Nothing fancy in terms of furnishings but the food and how the food is presented is often all that is needed Someone always greets us as soon as we enter. Ive never encountered a wait but I hear that occasionally there is a line because of recent popularity. I often venture into restaurants and order something different each time but I can honestly say I really enjoy two things there, One being that savory and sweet Plumlicious Bacon. You taste every delicious calorie...and i'm not a bacon person. I've also always had good luck with the Thai Tea French toast. The presentation on that is so pretty. It has a creamy sauce that is flavored with Thai tea as opposed to syrup, a cereal like topping that is sweet and adds a crunch, fresh fruit and berries. The french toast is cooked well with a slightly more crispy outer layer. I would venture to say the dish is also shareable Ive also had the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. Unfortunately they were a little dry and no accompanying syrup to help ease it. The Thai tea tini is served in a metal cup that is beautiful, has that classic flavor with alcohol. Great for a brunch date on a warm day. Most of the drinks that I have ordered there have a nice flavor so if you have friends, order a few different ones so you can try them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Charming concept with lovely decor, and the service is good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately giving a 2 stars because of the quality of the food. Presentation of the food is really pretty, so I was excited to the try the food. My first bite of the Loco Moco, I unexpectedly bit into something very hard, which I had to spit out. It seemed too firm to be shells. Didn't resemble bone either. I wondered if it might've been plastic. Strawberry Matcha Latte- something to skip. The taste of milk overshadowed the matcha, tasted more like a milk and strawberry flavor. No matter how much we mixed it, it didn't taste any better. Thai Tea Latte was essentially just hot Thai tea. There was also a fly in my water cup haha but that's considering we were seated next to a plant. We also weren't given utensils but it was a very busy day! I'm disappointed but I hope things improve for them! read more
