    Banana smoothie
    Stephanie G.

I tried out a banana smoothie because it seemed appropriate given the company name, and that was satisfactory. It was a decent price and had a not too sweet but still obvious banana smoothie. I'd get one again. I was actually going to get a food item, but their menu pages scrolled really fast. Like I couldn't read one fully until another one would come up, and at some point I didn't want to keep standing their frantically trying to read and compare items. It would be a lot easier to see all the options at once. And they mispelled coffee as "coffe." For a business that has a few locations, the whole menu board seems very carelessly thrown together. There's street parking, but it can get busy. If I was already in the area, the smoothies were fine and I'd consider one again, but I feel like I'd have to study their online menu first to see what I wanted. There's some seating here and the service was quick, so it was okay.

My boyfriend introduced me to Banana King years ago and since then I have had cravings for their empanadas and milk shakes. I love their beef empanadas and the cheese ones, I get random cravings for them at all hours so the fact that Banana King is open real late is a huge plus. The pink sauce ( I think its mayo & Catsup ) is the perfect addition to the crunchy exterior of the empanada. The store itself is pretty much a counter and a few tables and chairs, we usually just take our food to go or eat in the car depending on how busy they are.

First time at a Banana King! Everyone I know has raved about it! From my first experience, I'm giving them three stars because maybe I don't know a good arepa when I have one! Otherwise, two stars would be generous! Ordered an arepa Cubana. I was the only person in the store and it took least 10 minutes before I got my food. My arepa was oily and topped with meat, which was much more like ropa vieja than roast pork, on top of a couple of slices of ham that looked like they came right out of a package! It was mushy and really salty! There was plenty to eat, but I didn't enjoy it. I'll try something else next time!

4.5 stars My friend…read moreand I were going to a concert in Rutherford and wanted to grab dinner beforehand. There were so many excellent options on Park Avenue that it was hard to select one, but we wound up settling on Suprema. The restaurant was an easy 5-minute walk from the train station and was, thankfully, very warm and cozy inside on that chilly evening. The service that we experienced throughout the night was also very friendly and gracious. After we were seated, we were told that the restaurant was BYO and that there was a liquor store across the street. I decided to quickly run over and grab a bottle of wine, since we had some time to enjoy our meal before the show started. In addition to the bottle of red, we began our dinner with a complementary bread basket and an appetizer to share. Sadly, the slices of bread were rather dry and hard, so I only indulged in a few bites. However, our Rice Ball starter was unbelievable! We received three massive, fried spheres of creamy risotto and gooey mozzarella that were sitting in a sweet, herbaceous basil pomodoro sauce. They were honestly the best arancini I thought I had ever had! For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Porcini, which included two large Bell & Evans boneless chicken breasts, served over a light, creamy golden potato puree. The poultry was topped with fresh, roasted cremini and porcini mushrooms, as well as a sweet wine and porcini glaze. It felt like an upscale, modern version of a chicken marsala. I adored every aspect of the dish, from the tender chicken to the aromatic mushrooms to the homestyle mashed potatoes (an item I do not even typically like). Suprema provided a stellar meal in a relaxed atmosphere that was the perfect pre-concert vibe we were looking for. Plus, the food was amazing, so we definitely made a wise choice in picking the place.

Highlights: Fried Calamari and meatball appetizers were great!…read more Mid-lights: The vodka chicken parm with rigatoni was good, but the chicken was a little too soft/soggy. Also the portions were a little small. Lowlights: The restaurant was a little understaffed, wait times for water, to take our order, to get our food was extremely long. 4 dishes ordered and dinner was 2.5 hours... Overall the food was good but pricey for what it was.

Came during brunch but was really hankering for their French dip sandwich. A tad bit of a bummer,…read morebut on the bright side I got to try out their brunch menu! We tried the Ham & Brie Croissant with Tavern Fries. The Croissant was big enough for two of us to share and SOO good. I had the Golden Peach Martini while my girlfriend ordered the Brown Butter Old Fashioned. I'm not typically one to order an Old Fashioned so I always try hers out -- this has to be a top 5 for me!! This was my second time coming to Union. I had initially come in the fall for a Yelp Elite event but I've been wanting to come back ever since. For a "bar," their food and drink list is elevated and better than most! Shout out to our server Mariah! She said the bar had poured too much prosecco for another table, so we got to enjoy some complimentary prosecco -- can't let that go to waste! ;) Parking in East Rutherford can be tough at times, but I do love that Union has their own lot with plenty of parking. It just makes choosing a place to go easier!

Ownership really did a great job creating a very cool, city-style, modern atmosphere. Before writing this review, I had to really think about what UB&P really is and (duh!) the name says it all. This is more of a bar first and food ( provisions) secondary. As long as you visit with this in mind you should have a good experience. Well lit, well stocked bar with as pair of large TVS for watching a game. Not a craft beer bar but ok on the wine selection and it has an interesting craft cocktail list. However the drinks sounded better than they were made. My dining companion and I have had our fair share of Old Fashions and Lychee-style martinis. The versions here GOLDEN PEACH MARTINI & BROWN BUTTER WASHED OLD FASHIONED fell flat. At $16-18 per, they need to get better. As for food, a very small menu ( which I do like at times) but this one doesn't have anything that says "I have to try that!" Again I'm feeling that what with all the great restaurants in the next town it makes sense to push the alcohol here more than the food. We split he hummus platter which was very good; For our main course: the house burger ( with fries) and meatloaf ( with sauteed spinach and pureed potatoes). The burger was very good and cooked as ordered. The meatloaf was good\ok, but I have the opinion that most of us already have a version of our favorite meatloaf from somewhere else ( mom's, spouse's, our own). A side of cornbread was ordered too. I find most places make it too dry but this version was very good. Do NOT expect to have dessert here as it is almost non-existent. No menu and only a few generic choices like cheesecake, chocolate cake, creme brulee ( they had 1 left on a Wednesday night! really? ) Anyway, good place for catching the game with some drinks. Food here if needed to keep the night going. They just need to do a little work on those cocktails.

Absolutely lives up to the hype!…read more The pastrami is insanely tender like melt in your mouth kind of good. The sandwich is definitely messy, but that's how you know it's done right when its packed and stacked with meat! Even with a line out the door, the guys behind the counter cutting the meat are friendly and keep things moving. The fries are steak fries, which I don't typically love but it worked well as a vehicle for the pastrami. The corned beef is a bit dry. We had some pierogies but these were superrrr oily. We also ordered a matzoh ball soup because I've never had it before. But the second I saw them microwave it in a plastic container, I knew I had made a mistake. It was basically just a matzoh ball in very salty chicken bouillon water. I'm sad that was my first matzoh ball soup experience but am not deterred from finding a real one elsewhere. Based on my previous visit and this one, it seems like you should just stick to a classic pastrami sandwich. It's big enough to share between two people. Next time, I'd like to dine in and eat it fresh. The sandwiches also come with a bunch of pickles, which was nice. Tip #1 - there is a parking lot but because there are so many stores and it's next to Bratek Deli, it's a nightmare. It did also happen to be Good Friday, so maybe that made it worse? I don't remember it being that bad the first time around. Tip #2 - I called ahead to place my order but still had to wait 15 minutes extra after the quoted time. They prioritize walk-in customers, so you might as well just order in store.
